Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Unit no MST support on OSX - Be Careful I bought this over the weekend thinking it would function the same as a similar unit from J5 Create. It does not. A good unit for your Mac / OSX connectivity if you need only to add an ethernet port and extend to a single monitor. THE UNIT DOES NOT EXTEND USING MST (Laptop + External A, External B) and therefore can not drive two external displays. (Despite having two ports) It is an okay unit, although I wish I could return it; for the same (or less on sale) I could have had one from another manufacturer that offers more for the Mac user. Quite disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Targus USB-C Dual HDMI 4K Docking Station It is a great product to enable 2 external monitors. However, since I have gaming monitors, I cannot set the refresh rate to more than 120 Hz when my monitors support 144 Hz. Works well out of the box.

Purchased this to hook up my work laptop to my home monitors, then using a USB peripheral switch(KVM without the video inputs), would switch control between my personal computer and work computer. (A true KVM would switch everything over, sometimes I want my personal comp on one monitor and the work stuff on the other at the same time. Hence going this route.) Even with the KVM plugged into power, this device's non-charging USB port will either not recognize my mouse and keyboard or if it does, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting them repeatedly. This happens if nothing else is plugged into the dock. I tried plugging in my work laptop's power supply to the power passthrough port, to see if that would improve things, it did not. Everything works fine when I plug it into the 2nd, charging, USB port however. It recognizes my mouse and keyboard through the KVM and never disconnects. I tried a blutooth headset, USB transceiver, in that non-charging port, to see if it was just my RGB mouse/keyboard drawing too much power, nope. Doesn't work for the transceiver either. It will charge my wireless headset from the non-charging port, as long as my laptop remains on. The second it goes to sleep, the port stops charging. So the 2nd USB port is useless. It should really be upgraded to a 2nd charging port, as it doesn't function otherwise. Thinking it might be the unit I purchased, I returned my first one and purchased another one from a different retailer. It had the exact same issue. So far the rest of the ports have worked fine. Dual monitors running at the same time works, with Ethernet plugged in, laptop power supply in passthrough port, and mouse/keyboard work through peripheral switch/KVM to the charging USB port. (Again nothing works in the non-charging USB port, no matter what is plugged in.) It does get warm, as other reviews state, but that hasn't caused an issue yet. I've had power bricks for laptops get as warm as this thing does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good - but not super flexible Works well generally, but does not like it when you turn off one of the two screens when using both HDMI outputs (reverts the remaining screen to blank). Would be nicer if it could switch more seamlessly without having to go to display settings, particularly if you want to regularly switch from a single to dual screen use within a dual screen set up. That said, overall I am happy with my purchase.

It did not do this when I used a larger Targus docking station so I am not clear if this a problem or not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for M1 iMac I got this to add ports and SD card readers to my M1 Mac and couldn't be more pleased. All functions work fantastic. No issue with USB, SD or HDMI ports on the machine passing through the the Mac thunderbolt ports. This hub was actually able to read a microSD card I had written off as lost to corruption that my old hub was unable to access. No heat under heavy load (HDMI and data transfer of large files to two external USB drives simultaneously. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Utilitarian Adapater Targus’ USB-C adapter does a great job of supporting multiple cables into one USB-C insert. We’re impressed with the ability to run two HDMI outputs and power through the Targus adapter. While the convenience of the adapter is great, it has a couple of drawbacks. First, the adapter emitted a high pitch noise when in use. It’s not loud, but noticeable as background noise. Second, there is a slight lag with the HDMI outputs keeping up with the device the adapter is attached to. The lag is minimal, but noticeable. Overall, the Targus USB-C adapter does a great job of combining multiple outputs and inputs into one device.

With this dock, you have two USB ports, two hdmi ports, ethernet connection, micro sd/SD card slot and and USB-c slot. This will allow you to connect additional devices to your laptop. This piece is nicely constructed and durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work as advertised for 4K 60 Hz monitors I tried this docking station with two powerful laptops with 4K screens, the HDMI outputs do not provide 4K 60 Hz (only up to 30 Hz), and when connecting two 4K monitors only one will display at 4K (30 Hz) the other will have a lower resolution (up to 2K). Disappointed. Waste of time and money (return shipping fee). Pass-Thru and other ports work fine but I bought this for the dual HDMI 4K 60 Hz that this device does not deliver as promised. If you're planning to connect 4K monitors to this docking station look somewhere else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact yet impressive Got this as a travel adapter so that when I present/use multiple monitors, I always have an adapter that works with my machine. Works beautifully, two HDMI ports are clutch for using multiple monitors or hooking up to a projector. Can also charge a couple of other devices too. And the SD card reader allows my to upload photos to my laptop as well. Happy customer!

I have switched to working from home due to the current circumstances and it was difficult working on my laptop screen, when I'm used to having a keyboard and two monitors at work. This docking station has been working great and has made my much better by recreating my work environment when I was going into the office. It's nice an compact too, so that is a big benefit.

I was in the market for a docking station but got quickly overwhelmed with how pricey and how intense they could get. I got this Targus docking station and it was so simple and easy to use! I got great image quality and zero technology issues. Highly recommend!

I'm using it with my Windows laptop and have set up two monitors to connect to it. It's been awesome to have the two monitors to work on spreadsheets on different screens. Using the docking station was really easy to set up right out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product! This is an excellent product that I didn’t realize I needed until I started using it! It is a good size, small and lightweight, easy to carry when traveling. I have MacBook Air that only has 2 USB-C ports, this docking station allows me expand to many traditional ports, USB, Ethernet, HDMI and SD card readers. I can use it to connect to 2 separate monitors with the 2 HDMI ports. I also use it to plug in my SD cards to download videos from my GoPro. It takes both a micro SD card and a normal SD card, which is very handy. All in all this is a great product that I would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Good This docking station is fast to connect and easy to use, with lots of good options for connections. I was able to use it right out of the box without issue. My one qualm with it is that the USB-C hub does not work super well with the 2021 Mac. In order to use it, I had to apply a good amount of force to get it to insert in the USB-C port on the Mac as the sizes appear to be slightly different. It did work well once connected, but it definitely required more muscle than I would like to use when connecting sensitive electronics. Overall it's a great device though! I was able to connect a monitor and USB mouse seamlessly and without lag.

However, the two monitors can only display the same screen, which is useless. I discovered this limitation only after searching online for a solution. I still use it to connect one monitor, and I have a second device (from Apple) to connect the second monitor.
