Know your gear
The Targus HD3 Gaming Chill Mat™ is specifically designed to cool high-performance laptops up to 18". This cooling system features three ultra-quiet, highly efficient fans with bearings that have twice the rated lifespan compared to standard cooling device fans. An adjustable fan speed dial features precise, tactile control so it's easy to adjust the cooling level without taking your eyes off of the laptop screen.
Its industrial, perforated design improves heat dissipation while the laptop is in use. Advanced airflow straighteners help focus the air right where you need it most while reducing air turbulence for more targeted and efficient cooling. The non-skid elastomer feet provide a stable grip so the chill mat does not slide while the laptop is in use. A convenient LED indicator light is positioned on the front of the device so you always know when it's powered.

Get one. You can't go wrong
Works as expected. I only wish it was a little thinner. Its not bad though. Also wish that you could reverse the fans to pull the hot air away from the laptop instead of pushing air up all the time. My laptop is very hot to the touch especially towards the hinge side. It will burn you so that should give you an idea of the heat being generated. After having the laptop on the mat with the fans on full speed for about five minutes, the heat was significantly reduced. The map has two USB connectors for more power but I did not notice any significant difference in air flow or fan noise when I plugged them both in.

When the replacement is better than the original
It's the only cooling mat on the market that properly fits an Alienware 18 I know of. Purchased this one as a replacement for one a decade old that finally gave up the ghost, and the new one seems to be of even better construction with more ability to move air, all while being quieter. Top marks all around.

Could be better
Could be better. The lowest setting strains like there is a power drain. It’s a little louder than I would have liked as well.

Works Wonders
I started using this item a couple days ago I can't believe the difference in my computer it would always get a little warm when I was using it and now the cooling gel mat really makes a difference. So if you get a chance to purchase one give it a try.

Targus Chill Mat is LOUD
The Targus Gaming Chill Mat works well for up to a 17 inch computer. It is suppose to be quiet but it is far from being quiet. It is very loud. There are three fans that make so much noise. In order to use the mat you need two USB if you want to use all three fans. It gets louder when using both USB ports. The color is suppose to be black but it looks more grey. It does not cool the laptop as well as expected. It also has a large footprint taking up a lot of space.

Gaming chill mat
This was not what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be almost like a cooling mat more like rubber with cooling. But its more like hard plastic with a fan. I didn't not like it very much. I tried it as well for my laptop and it was just not comfortable to use while on the laptop.

Quiet!
This mat is great. My computer does not move around while it’s sitting on top, so things feel stable. The fans are nice and quiet. it is lightweight, but feels durable. My laptop stays chilled and has been running much better as a result.
I definitely recommend giving this a try!

I got this to try I heard a mat was very good to have because I’m literally on my computer the majority of the day and sometimes I prefer to have my laptop on my lap and this was a great choice u love the texture and quality and definitely works!

No Power ...
This thing requires TWO USB-A ports. I have one. So I got two USB A to AC Plug adapters from two old cell phones ... used those ... no lights .. no fans ... nothing...

Keeps things cool
I got very confused. It came with no directions and no cord to plug into the cool pad/ computer. I had to search forever around my house to find the right kind of cord. I almost gave up. My husband had given me a plug for a massager and insisted it would work. I laughed at him because it had a long metal plug at the end. He finally found the right kind, only because we kept all of our old cell phone cords and it calls for a USB-A. But I have it going right now and it is working great. I would recommend it. Just make sure you have the correct cord for it, USB-A.

Works well with old laptops
I paired this with my dinosaur of a laptop and it seemed to do pretty well with cooling down the exterior of the laptop. I can’t say that it improved performance, but it definitely didn’t feel as hot to the physical touch. Had different speeds on the fans you can choose from. The higher the speed, the louder the fans get.

It works but makes a sound
So I got this to switch between gaming and my husbands work laptop. His laptop is very heavy and produces a LOT of heat because he uses a lot of different programs.
I think this chill mat works but only on high. If you use the low fan setting, it makes a whirring sound which doesn't sound good at all. Do I think it works well? Well, I think it would work better without that whirring noise.
On high, it seems to work okay. Fan noise is a little loud but it's unavoidable and it shows me that it's working. But I would suggest never putting it on low as the noise would drive you crazy.

It Works!
Targus Gaming Chill Mat Laptop Cooling Pad is the number one brand in the USA for a reason! This pad uses 3 ultra quiet fans for optimum cooling performance. It has integrated airflow straighteners to reduce turbulence for ultimate cooling and the ventilated top improves heat dissipation. These are adjustable fans with precision tactile control with a max speed of 3000 RPM. This pad is made to give your laptop a better chance at longevity. Another great feature of this pad is that it has non-skid feet so it helps keep your laptop in place. All this and it stays super quiet during performance. Great invention!

Works well
I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this. I put it under my laptop and honestly feel like it helps keep the laptop for overheating after prolonged use. It’s quiet and has a low profile so I hardly notice it is there.

Works great!
I was eager to try out this chill mat, since my laptop tends to get really warm, almost hot at times, when I use it for a long time, particularly when solely on battery power. I've used it several times in conjunction with the chill mat, and the results are great! My laptop stays cool to the touch, even after extended use. I'm sure that goes a long way in extending its life, too. The chill mat is easy to set up and install. Great product!

Just what I needed
Works just liked advertised. Has three fans that provide adequate air flow and the design allows for optimal circulation. Plug is in a good location so that you can run cord to either side of laptop. The non skid feet made for a solid platform.

Nice Addition
I got this for a work laptop and am very pleased. The fan keeps the computer nice and cool (and it isn't so bad to lift it up and get a fan blow myself on hot days)! It also boosts the laptop up a little bit which is nice for typing.

Extremely short live
At start, it worked well, kept my computer cool but... for only 16 days. On day 17th, all fans ceased to work. Wheel to control fans speed a bit hard to move.

Works great. Exactly as I was hoping!
This cooling mat works super well. My Mac book has a broken fan and was getting super hot when in use. Super easy to use just hooked this to the USB ports and it kept it nice & cool. Has 2 fan speeds if you need more or less fab power.
