Also the case does not go entirely around the camera button which has resulted in a cracked screen protector at that spot. I like the color and its size just not the level of protection.

So I hope this case holds up just as good, if not better. But one thing that really bothers me is the big ugly mag safe ring. I chose the clear case to see my phone and the stickers I put on the back, but the mag safe ring is very intrusive and in the way, and I don’t like the technology either… so I will never have a use for this mag safe ring and it’s just ruining the design. I wish they offered a clear case without the ring.

They have all been fairly good quality up until this one. It’s now incredibly thin and barely covers the phone. We were both in incredibly disappointed after unboxing and would return it if it didn’t cost to do so.

I like the texture because it does not slip out of my hands. I added a clear Pop Socket and I now have an easy to manage larger iPhone. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

I then found out that the Apple Case had a touch capacity button for the new shutter button. I am going to donate to a thrift shop and hope someone can use it.

Have used exclusively otterbox cases for over a decade but the cutout for the new camera button on this one really is an issue. The phone is completely unprotected in that area and overall it's uncomfortable to hold like that. Strongly recommend these guys change this setup.

Love this case. I’m still surprised, though that they removed the imprinted “OtterBox” name at the bottom (?)

It feels solid and well-made, offering great drop resistance with raised bezels around both the screen and camera. I appreciate how the design balances protection without adding unnecessary bulk—it’s surprisingly slim for such a durable case. The fit is precise, with all the cutouts perfectly aligned, and the buttons remain responsive under the case. It also has a nice grip, making the phone easier to hold. Plus, it works flawlessly with wireless chargers, which is a huge convenience. While the performance and design are impressive, the price feels hard to justify in today’s market. It’s undeniably a great case, but at this cost, I expected a bit more value or innovation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not like it used to be - camera button is terrible I’ve used the Symmetry case for my iPhone Pro Max for years (11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and now 16). I’ve recommended them to everyone for being durable and just enough rubber sides to grip, but not be sticky. IYKYK. Just enough lip to protect the face when laying flat. This year for the 16 something has changed. It’s way too slippery on the sides. Sturdy still, but too much hard plastic. The camera button cutout is BRUTAL as the edge is sharp, exactly where your thumb goes to hold the phone with your right hand. After a minute it feels like it’s cutting the skin. Plus it’s hard to use the camera button with the way the notch is designed. Bummer to go another direction and return this. Loved Otter in the past. Maybe they’ll redo the case.

The case also has a certain texture which is great because the case is not slippery and stays put in your pocket. I have bought many otter box cases over the years because of its great durability.

The camera button cutout is hideous looking and defeats the purpose of the case. $50 wasted for this useless case that never saw 1 second on my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Otterbox but the cut out does not work. I have been a loyal Otterbox fan for a very long time. I loved the look and feel of this case when I got it. As I used it I noticed a lot of dust getting inside the case because of the cut out for the camera button. I also noticed that it started changing colors. It was clear and after a couple of weeks it started turning red. Very strange.

The edges of the case have some sharp spots, especially around the camera button cutout. I decided to go another route. Fit was good on the phone this just wasn’t the case for me.

Feedback for the Otterbox Design/Product Team - Please incorporate this camera button design from the LUMEN iPhone 16 Pro Max case a new version of this Otterbox iPhone 16 Pro Max case, and you will have an AMAZING case, as the front edge of the phone and screen where the camera button cutout is will actually have protection vs the huge unprotective cut out notch that this case features - making it not drop proof.

I dropped my phone face down on a hard surface and it was fine, but there's this little part at the new button area that is open so the edge just kept getting caught on everything. My pocket, my purse, my wallet, my cup holder in my car. I already replaced it.

The Defender had a raised rim around the cameras that lifted the case up and prevented contact with the MagSafe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable case - protects my phone. Love this durable case. I’ta the only case I’ve used for my phone for decades. I’ve never had a an issue with a phone while in an otterbox. And I loveeeeee the stardust glitter. Just enough of a little pop but not too much. I replace it about every 18 -24 months as the clear case has yellowed in the past - a shame since the case doesn’t deteriorate so it is wasteful. Hopefully they solve for this.
