This MST hub lets you connect three DisplayPort monitors to your Mini DisplayPort computer. MST works on any Windows device that supports DisplayPort 1.2, such as models of the Lenovo Think Pad and Microsoft Surface. When connected to earlier revisions of DisplayPort, such as DP 1.1 the MST hub acts as a video splitter.

Increase your productivity with multiple monitors
The newest generations of laptops are more portable than ever, unfortunately this means you’re left with fewer video outputs and a small integrated screen. The MST hub solves these problems by letting you connect three displays to a single mDP port on your computer. With the MST hub, you can extend your desktop onto additional monitors and stream independent content to each display, so it’s easier to stay productive - perfect for creating an easy-to-dock hot desk solution with a wireless keyboard and mouse peripheral set. You can also mirror the same image onto multiple displays for remote viewing applications such as digital signage.

Astonishing picture quality that won’t drain your system resources
MST uses your existing video card to minimize the use of system resources while delivering Ultra HD 4K resolutions. Plus, because the MST hub can output high-definition 1080p, it’s perfect for high-resolution applications such as graphic design and medical imaging.

Works with any monitor, television or projector
With this MST hub, you can use separate mDP video adapters to connect HDMI, VGA or DVI displays, for compatibility with all of your existing monitors. The hub is VESA and DisplayPort certified to support DP 1.2 enabled systems, for seamless integration with your existing video equipment.

MSTMDP123DP has been certified by Microsoft and tested for compatibility with your Microsoft Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book and is backed by a 3-year StarTech.com warranty and free lifetime technical support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useless with ASUS N550JK and 2x acer CB280HKDoes not work reliably with Windows 8.1 on ASUS N550JK and 2x acer CB280HK.There must be a magic order of actions to power it on, plug in the monitors and recognise them in windows. But it isn't working for me.I got it to work only once, and it was stunnign with two 4K2 displays in portrait mode.Buyt I walked away from my desk to get lunch and it hasn't worked since.your mileage may vary.but prepare for no miles at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works GreatI bought this to connect to 24" 1080P monitors to my SP3/dock. Works well, and has no problem with the the monitors native resolution. Plug and Play so setup was as easy as plugging everything in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and worksI have purchased five of these for use with the Surface Pro 3 and we have had no issues. Every installation has been less than 10 minutes and my users were able to configure their own screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DisplayPort MST Hub does not work with Surface 3 & Docking StationI have only used this device with Microsoft Surface 3 Pro, and docking-station. Connected to two external HP EliteDisplay E241i.While you can get this MST Hub to work as intended for a short time*, I have not been able to stabilize functionality to the point where I would deploy in to end users.* Disconnecting and reconnecting power supply to MST Hub, and powering off/on the external monitors will make the Surface 3 Windows OS detect and enable the connected displays. The external monitors will work until the next time they enter sleep mode. After that, the Surface 3 in docking-station will no longer detect the external monitors,You can repeat the MST HUB, and Monitor power reset process and have external monitors working again, but only until next monitor sleep event. The device itself appears to be well designed, and the connectors feel solid.Unfortunately, my experience with this device is similar to previous review and until this issue has been addressed by StarTech - I would not suggest attempting to use this device with the Surface Pro 3.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with Surface Pro 3So I got one of these to use on my new Surface Pro 3 tablet. They have a decent looking and feel, and while my HP LED screens do have Display Port 1.2 connectors, I can't have any of them detected by the tablet while using the MST adapter. I've contacted the StarTech support, which told me this dongle should work with the Surface and he suggested me to replace the unit, which I did and it didn't worked either. As the docking station was due to be out on the market soon, I waited until the day I got mine, and here I am writing using my Surface Pro 3 while docked. The dongle still does not work. The tech support told me it was tested and made for the Surface Pro 3, so either I got a pair of duds or that was a sales rep acting as a tech. At any rate, if you plan on expanding your Surface Pro 3, don't bother with this adapter. Instead, use two cables: one at the dock and another at the Surface itself - or have fun with another MST hub from a different manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only one monitor with Surface pro 3Just got this in and installed it on my Surface Pro 3 - it supports a second monitor - and the third monitor winds up displaying the same as the second (assuming the surface pro display is monitor one). Bought this because I assumed Star Tech would simply work - very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great SplittersI received this free mini display port splitter to review and it`s been working great - no problems at all. I typically run 2 monitors, but this has allowed me to bump that up to 3 - super useful. Picture quality has been great throughout the time that I`ve used this product. Easy to use, just plug it in and it works, way better for multitasking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It workedSo I received a free sample of the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Multi-Monitor Splitter - 3-Port MST Hub in order to complete a review. And first things first, while DisplayPort is an extremely underrated technology, HDMI has become the standard for HD display chords, so a majority of people will find the HDMI version of this product to be significantly more useful. That said this product aimed to turn a single mini DisplayPort into 3 DisplayPorts, allowing for a computer to use 3 additional monitors. This splitters gets the job done and it succesfully integrates into Windows 10 display settings extremely well. Additionally, the product has a solid, compact design, which you notice right when you take it out of the box. One negative is to use the splitter, you have to use its included power supply, which is pretty bulky. My favorite secondary feature was the multiple power adapters, which allowed the splitter to be used all over the globe! And as far as design, the material used for the cord leading to the mini DisplayPort was extremely firm and stiff, which lead me to believe it would last a long time (I`ve only had the product for 3 weeks). Lastly, I never needed to use the integrated scan function and there wasn`t any instructions in the provided manual, so that seems like a wasted capability. Overall, StarTech`s Mini DisplayPort Splitter worked as advertised and successfully expanded one mini DisplayPort to 3 DisplayPorts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sketchy at bestI bought the hub doesn't work as well as promoted on StarTech web site. Sketchy at best with setting up with my Surface Pro3. Every day is an adventure to get my two 27” BenQ monitors up and displaying. I am constantly resetting my display options to get it to work. This waste time in the morning up to an hour a day. In a nut shell doesn’t work out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only detects one monitor at a timeThis had promise but on a surface pro 3 w/o docking station, the MSTMDP123DPonly detects 1 of 2 27" Samsung displays.
