StarTech.com HDMI Wireless Display Adapter for Miracast Devices - 1080p is rated 3.80 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solution with limitations The notebook needs to be on the podium, not within cable distance to the projector. Clickers force the speaker to turn their back to the audience: bad idea. Startech's adapter fixes that problem. However, it misses critical features for some applications. 1. It does not retain its connection if the HDMI signal is momentarily interrupted by an HDMI source. If a kiosk-powerpoint presents one PowerPoint presentation for timed announcements or meeting agenda, and another PowerPoint presentation supports a speaker's presentation, the device reboots when they are switched, even from the same notebook. HDMI switches have the same problem when the MC's notebook is different than the guest speaker's notebook. 2. The adapter is vulnerable to the issues that bother WiFi transmission. However, metal reflection and ballast transformers are something that no WiFi receiver can tolerate, including this device. 3. Apple computer devices have compatibility issues with this device because Apple products have their own proprietary protocols. IEEE standards compliance matters. Apple Computer learns its economics lessons the hard way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product So I've been on the search for a product like this for about 3 months. I have Samsung devices (phones and tablets) and decided to use the Samsung allshare cast dongle. It worked but lagged all. When I ordered this device from Startech, didn't expect much but boy was I surprised. Setting it up was ok, but could be better, but once you get it setup, there is very very little lag at all, everything streams well and is better than the Samsung dongle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Presentation aid for small groups I can place my notebook on the speaker podium and do PowerPoint presentations without losing eye contact with the audience. There are no cords to trip over by others. If the projector has the feature, I can use the venue sound system. The system can project videos linked to the PowerPoint slides, and even browse web sites. I also can run a slideshow at my breakfast table from up to 50 feet away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lacking Apple Support. Saucy boot music. That was the most interesting boot music I have ever heard. A bit clunky UI-wise. Not too shabby!
