This USB to DVI video adapter is lousy
This USB to DVI video adapter is lousy. The screen lag made it unusable, I tried it on several older and newer computers and monitors and it was lousy on all of them. I have a couple of Plugable brand external video adapters which work very well. I will not use the Startech brand video adapters again and will return this one.

Great for immediate second monitor needs
We used this product to upgrade our customer support center from single monitor systems to dual monitor at a fraction of the cost and time to implement dual video cards.
While the resolution and time to deploy are excellent, we have had occasional video problems where the monitors would get fuzzy, or horizontal lines that only a restart of the computer would correct.

Better then adding a video card
This product is awesome, you just install the software then plug the USB device... that's it!. Now you have 2 extended monitors ... I recommend it !

Works great right out of the box.
Over the last 3 years we have purchased will over 100 of these units. Every single one of them worked perfectly right out of the box. Always insured I have the latest drivers available when connecting them to my Surface Pro's. Just plug in, let the software install and reboot. Have used several different StarTech products through the years and have never had a complaint.

Works but really slow
I've tried this on various set ups, but unfortunately it is VERY slow. You couldn't watch a video on it for example. It is really only useful if you want an additional monitor that will be used for very static/non-moving information on the screen. So if you only need it for something that doesn't move on your screen, then this is fine - for example, you might need an additional screen to always show your emails or to type word documents. If you want to do anything that involves moving anything around on the screen (like a graphic designer or stock traders moving graphs for example) or involves anything moving on the screen (like a video for example) then do NOT get this, it's really low quality.
