Mine are getting returned As I write this I am looking at the 6 Candyshell Grip Speck cases I have for my retired iPhone 6s in various colors to match my mood. Then I look over at my new iPhone 12 mini with the new version of the Speck Grip case and a tear comes to my eye as I look at the hard plastic "grips" on the case. When I got my new phone it was a given I would get a Speck Grip case but now I find myself searching for some other brand of case that will make me happy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great phone protection, I do prefer the old grip tho I love Speck cases. I've dropped my iphone from a balcony in a Speck case and my phone was fine (amazingly). The only thing I don't like about this new case for the iphone 12 mini is that they changed the grip part. I used to be able to use the side grip to hold up my phone if it was leaning on something, but now it's too slippery. There are still grip lines going across the sides & back like the older speck cases but they are smooth and rubbery to 'grip'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mat vs Gloss Finish I have been a fan of Speck cases for many years. This case, as all Speck cases I have had, fits the phone perfectly and appears to protect it quite well. So why four stars instead of five? I liked the finish on the Candy Shell grip cases I have had in the past much better than the finish on this case. The glossy finish is just a personal perferrence and in no way affects the performance of the case.

Folks, first this case does not have your precious rubber grips that you complain about when they start rubbing off in two years. It is better. It has a matte non slip coating on it and built into the case grips. I notice the grips are bigger on the edges and that they provide all the grip you need. And the case is one piece now so the front edges won't rub off. Excellent upgrade from the old candy shell rubber grip cases.

But I was disappointed with the case color and design selection, especially when compared with those offered for the iPhone 6 plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, high-quality case with some grip If you're like me & have been using the Speck grip cases forever, you'll be somewhat disappointed with the new grip. It's a terrific grip for your hand and very comfortable to hold. But it will definitely slide across surfaces (tables, desks, etc), unlike the older rubber-type grip cases Speck used to make. So just be aware of that. Otherwise, it's a super sturdy case, has a nice lip/ raised bezel around the screen, and I feel my phone is well-protected. And the Coastal Blue color is a perfect match for the blue iPhone 12 mini, FYI. :-) #sweepstakes

The only thing is once the phone is in, good luck getting it out. I just spent five minutes with a towel trying to pry my phone out so I could clean up some dust between the case and the screen protector. So if you're into changing cases or need something easy on/off, it's not this case

I have had a white speck case on my iPhone 6s since I first got it back in 2015. I loved the security and ease of use with that case and decided to continue to put my trust in the Speck brand again. The color of blue is desaturated and smoky just as the photos show. I really like how it compliments my black phone. It can be easily spotted but isn't obnoxious. Just what I was looking for. The grip wraps onto both sides of the case as well which makes holding this case really secure. I have recommend Speck products to others in the past and with this new case, I will continue to do so in the future as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No grip No grip compared to old rubber type grip cases. Slides out of hand unless you grip tightly. Old cases did not require this much force to hold. Speck engineers try this... Put an old rubber case flat on your hand and one of these new cases in the other hand both with a phone in them. New case will slide off much sooner than old case as you tilt both hands. This is the grip I speak of that's gone. Your case now is nothing special. It's just another plastic feeling case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Choose Presidio2 Grip over Presidio Perfect-Clear Case Replaced my Presidio Perfect-Clear with a Presidio2 Grip because the Clear case was quite slippery and was just plain hard to hold on to. Dropped the phone numerous times and it also fell out of my shirt pocked. Perfect-Clear is much easier to grasp and has not yet fallen our of my shirt pocket. The Perfect-Clear was very attractive because it was transparent and the beautiful iPhone color was visible, while the Presidio2 Grip is a solid opaque color. However protection during drops seems to be similar with both cases, but the Presidio2 Grip dramatically reduces the likelihood of drops. Of note, the Presidio2 Grip is still not as "grippy" as the older style Speck Grip case that I still use on my original iPhone SE -- which is the type of case I still prefer.

They are very protective and I love the lifetime warranty. I would give it 5 stars for style, color, and protection. However, I take off one star because on every Presidio case that I've had, the part of the case right above the lightening connector inevitably breaks quickly with normal use. Speck is good about replacing the case when that happens, but it would be better if they fixed the flaw!

Speck offers a fun selection of colors and a range of useful, durable cases. I had the same Speck case all 5 years I had my iPhone 6s. The only problem I ran into was some of the flimsier rubber pieces over the power button and volume controls falling apart. This case should solve that problem--the pieces over the power button and volume controls are much sturdier, and the corners are reinforced too. I love the gripiness on the back, and the case is also very light. Huge fan! I recommend Speck cases to everyone I can.

Much to my dismay, the rubber of the case and the grip part is now different. It's much more slick and not as rubbery and grippy as the version I had for my iPhone 8. Still not a bad case, but kind of a disappointment compared to the previous one. I probably wouldn't order again as it is now as similar as other cases on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The mighty have fallen I've only written one review before, when they switched from the candy shell to the presidio, I was not a huge fan, but I came to terms. At least there was still rubber and still grip to the case. But the presidio 2 have absolutely no grip to them, and even working in the cell phone field I cannot sell these to customers that want grip! What happened guys? My hope was with the new phones with the square shape again we'd go back to the good days where speck cases were the best! But no, it seems speck just wanted to spit out cheaper cases. And the candy shell "pro" cases are just as much as a joke. Sorry guys, looks like I finally have to find a new case to use since the iPhone 3GS, and a new brand to sell as well.

This case feels much more cheap and flimsy. The lines of grip are now more plastic than rubbery, meaning less grip feel. The case is very light. The ridge that protects the front screen is taller than I remember and doesn't seem to provide similar protection for the cameras on the back. It will be a fine case for now but I'm open to exploring other brands.
