After buying a case from a different vendor that wouldn't fully snap on my computer despite it being the correct size, I was so relieved when this one snapped on perfectly. It gives my laptop coverage and protective without being bulky, and is smooth to the touch without getting visibly marked up. Last pro of this case for me is that I love that I can put stickers "on" my laptop without actually putting them on my MacBook.

Cosmetic Protection I love that this gives my Macbook Air the look of being a different color without it being obvious that it's a shell - which is what I was looking for. I can't really speak to protection, because I've only very gently used my laptop so far. Seems like it will (obviously) provide great protection from scratches, but I'm not sure this is the case you want if you're concerned about dropping your Macbook Air. It was very easy to snap on and seems like it stays secure. #sweepstakes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to install and important for safety Just placing an easily unstable shell on my MacBook Air is just common sense. A portable computer with bendable corners cries out for protection. This is the best solution and the most aesthetically pleasing. Lots of competition in this area, but others come up short.

Very low-profile but provides excellent protection and does not fingerprint or scratch. I should have listened to my wife and daughter and just went with Speck to begin with. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

It's worth it to pay a bit more for a quality product in this case, which will get a LOT of use. The shades were similar if not exactly like was shown on the web site and the shipping speed was super fast with both cases packaged very well. Don't hesitate to buy this product!

It definitely is better quality than other cheap cases I've bought, and doesn't pop off every time I open the laptop! A little sad it isn't available in more colors, but, oh well. Overall, good show.

It cracked immediately, in EVERY SINGLE corner, within a few weeks of purchase. The laptop never leaves home, or even the dining room table. I requested a new one be sent, and after months of waiting for it to be in stock, the second one is even worse and cracking more than the first. Please, please beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Look - Perfect Fit! The Blue Smartshell Macbook Air 13" (2020) Case fits perfectly on my Macbook, and provides the protection I know and trust from Speck. The color is beautiful, I have the silver Macbook and the blue/teal color is elevated! The finish is a matte, not shiny so I'm not worried about every little scratch or bump, it looks fantastic. When I first installed the case, I had to wiggle it a little to line everything up, but otherwise smooth sailing!

And how well it cover all parts and it's toddler proof. My daughter used and I used confident that with this case it those not get any damage. I really love the time that spend doing the research until I finally found it. It totally worth it. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this as a complement to what I thought was a gold MacBook which ended up being rose gold and at first I was worried it might be too much pink. But it's really a pleasing color and does feel very protective (not that I'd intentionally drop my laptop). I'm happy with the color and think it will look nice over time. It's well designed and you can tell it's high quality which is exactly what I look for—so I don't need to replace it in a few years. This is a great product and I hope they continue to offer it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't buy, the quality of this brand has gone down. The first speck case I bought lasted me through 7 years of rough and tumble wear. When I got a new laptop, speck was my first choice case. I was psyched to get it, the color is beautiful, and it fits like a glove. However, in the little over 3 months that I have had this case three of the corner snaps, keeping the case in place, have broken off. Now there is a crack starting to form on another edge. I've barely even left the house with it. I'm disappointed to spend so much and have it come apart so quickly. The quality is sad, and I'm disappointed in the brand I used to think highly of.

The case is too slippery now, and the shell is more rigid and breaks too easily. I'm curious if you have a warranty? This item is also very expensive for what it is.

I can easily open my Macbook past a 90 degree angle without fear of cracking the case. My only negative would be that thr website didn't provide model numbers that correspond to each case. The cases seem to be identified ny model year instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never buy this product. I have nothing good to say about this product. I bought the clear cover in order to protect my new MacBook Air M1 that I purchased. The top cover cracked a little as I put it on the laptop which should've been my first warning but I did not get it replaced as it is a 40 minute drive from the point of purchase to my home one way. Then a month later, the back corners both cracked and one small corner snapped off lodging in between the keyboard and the screen. The case and laptop were never dropped or treated roughly. Because this is a clear case and not easily visible, the screen was closed and damaged. I called customer service let them know I was not happy with the product and wanted a refund as well as expenses reimbursed for my repair bills and Apple Care. I was told they would only give me a new cover of which I was not interested in due to the poor quality of the original. I called a few days later and emailed to have a manager contact me, but no one has responded. I live in Canada and did not purchase directly from Speck. I spoke to the manager at the retail location where I purchased the cover who was initially certain Speck would have helped me out but when I reported that they had only offered to provide me with a new case he was deeply concerned. I'm going to recommend that his business stop carrying Speck products because of the poor quality product as well as terrible customer service. I am very disappointed in Speck and can't believe that this is the quality of products and customer service your company provides. I am a business owner and work primarily online and require reliable tools for my business, and I lost a week of work due to the repairs caused by the damage. This is definitely not a reliable product.

Apparently my computer predates the 2020 and the 2018 models. I didn't know that there were new models. Now I have to figure out how to return it.

This is the second one I've bought - the other one lasted as long as I had the computer (about 7 years, I think!), with only a tiny bit of corner that needed some tape right at the end. I can put all my stickers on the case and not worry about damaging my laptop. I wish there were more color choices or fun patterns, but I'm super happy with what's available.
