My iPad doesnt sit all the way down in the case and 1-2 corners always pop out. My iPad even fell out one time. It looks really nice but I'm afraid my iPad will fall out and I don't want to push down on the corners any harder because it seems like anymore pressure will crack the screen.

My only complaint is the location of the elastic that's used to hold the pencil - when the pencil is in the elastic, you can't fold the front cover flat against the back of the case (e.g. if you're just reading). Furthermore, there's no easy way to access the pencil when you need to grab it to jot down a note, etc.

The charcoal grey is exactly what I was looking for, and the pencil holder secures the Apple pencil very well. Giving four stars instead of five because the camera flap isn't as magnetic as I'd hoped—it struggles to stay put.

The reason I gave 4 stars instead of five is because two days after I received my iPad cover it went on sale for 20% off. I asked for a price adjustment but was refused as they don't have a reasonable 30 day price protection like every other modern retailer in the marketplace. Apparently good customer relations is a low priority.

Con: difficult to reach and use volume control buttons. I find myself poking my finger around inside the opening that surrounds but somewhat covers the buttons. Though I've tried it several times, I might not yet have the device properly settled into the case. Will keep trying. Overall, though, I'm happy with it. A great cover and I recommend it.

Also the flap over the camera lens seems superfluous. I've been very happy with Speck products in the past but this case seems overthought and overdesigned. I am keeping it for use in long-distance travel, where I might want extra protection, but I bought a simple, lightweight case from a different company for everyday use.

My only critique is that I can't fold the cover of the case behind the ipad without removing the apple pencil. I don't use the pencil everytime I use the ipad, so I would like to be able to leave the pencil in its holder and be able to fold back the cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Case for iPad 9th Gen I had a graveyard of cheap cases that lasted a couple of weeks for my old iPad until I found about Speck and it has lasted 5 years of regular use. This is my second Speck case for my new iPad and it's gotten even better with each iteration. The fit and finish is on point, the grooves for the different viewing angles are even better than the previous gen case and the camera window is a nice touch. My first iPad is still going with it's respective Speck case with it's new owner and now this new one it's probably going to outlast it. Great case all around.

My only suggestion for a future iteration would be to have a better locking mechanism for when the folio is closed. It takes some effort to center the locking clip to secure the cover.

I really like the padfolio type stand as opposed to the tri fold, it feels more stable and just looks more professional. I get a lot of compliments for this case and it does look nice. Some things I would improve upon: the camera flap doesn't always catch the magnet when opened so it sometimes just flips back up in the middle of a picture. I would recommend either a larger magnet to hold in place, or maybe a smaller margin for the folding area, but this is not a deal breaker for me. The main issue I have is that the clasp, while tight and secure, is too tight and taking it off has caused blisters on the my finger, and it's in the exact spot i use to get the leverage to take it off. This is a major point that I would fix. Otherwise, I thought I wouldn't like the exterior spot for the pencil in case I lose my pencil cap, or just gets damaged, but hasn't been an issue so far. I don't travel much with the ipad though.

Full protection both front and back reinforced corners, top flap concerts to a stand, snaps close for extra protection and the case material repels dirt and grime, and cleans with just a damp cloth. Beyond highly recommended. So unless you're planning on throwing your iPad out the window of a plane at 30,000 feet, don't waste your money on the high price brands. You will love this case.

I like that it has a slot to hold my stylus, however, it is on the spine and you cannot open and fold the front flap back because the pen hinders it. It would be much more beneficial if the pen slot was located at the open end of the case. However, I still recommend the case for those looking for quality and a nice color.

Cannot say enough good about it I would never use another brand

I would definitely not recommend this case to someone that has kids that will be using the ipad. This case is not holding up very well for me at all. The green color is already picked pretty bad in several places. He only uses the ipad inside the house, so I don't know if this case is going to hold up very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love Speck! I have bought Speck cases for all the iPhones and iPads I've had. Apple always tries to sell me their cases. While they are nice, they are too thin and don't prop up the iPad the way I like. Your products are quite durable. The last iPad case I had lasted till I bought a new iPad (at least 6 years). It was beat up and cracked on a corner, but it kept my old iPad looking as good as new and, therefore, eligible for trade-in. This new case is improved and has a flap that covers the camera. I'll stick with Speck!

I have not tried the camera flap as I don't take phots with anything other than my iPhone at this point, but the case works well for my purposes. The easel function is good and it is an attractive case with a soft surface. The lack of five full stars is due to the latch. It is a tight fit, as I suppose it should be, but it can be difficult to open quickly and locking the cover in place when using the iPad as a book is fussy and frustrating. A magnetic latch would be much more user-friendly.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it has a chemical smell. It could be from whatever antimicrobial treatment on it. Thankfully, the smell is going away.

I did have a question: On the packaging's back panel the case is shown in a portrait orientation but mine cannot turn from horizontal to portrait. Why would Speck show this if the product enclosed cannot be oriented this way?

It would be nice if it came with a stylus or had a place to put one. I thought it had a place for a stylus but the stylus I have will not fit. My understanding is that these cases last a really long time so I shouldn't have to buy another one.

I contacted customer service, they sent me another one, very appreciated, but the 2nd one doesn't fit either. And it slips out way more than the first one. I can flip my iPad upside down and it falls out. The case needs some clasps around the edges or something to keep it in. VERY disappointed! 2 stars for loving the color and overall design (besides it not fitting) and the great and prompt customer service. Many might think that I am possibly dumb for buying a case that is too small but I promise you, I have the iPad 8th generation... I've owned apple products my whole life and currently have 5 in my possession.

The notch system holds the screen in place at various spots for easy viewing. The notch cutouts are not deep enough, so the pad moves out of it's location easily. The notch cutout slits need to be a little deeper so the pad screen doesn't accidentally move out of it's location. Other than that complaint, it is a quality product.

I am a bit accident prone as well as have some peripheral neuropathy in my hands due to chemo for breast cancer. I researched many similar products and landed here because the case is highly rated and has a 4 foot drop rating. I also liked the variety of colors available. I now have the case and it fits my iPad perfectly - nice and secure. I also appreciate the variety of angles I am able to place the iPad - from vertically to a really nice viewable angle. I love the fact it has a camera protector and the blue is just fabulous. I am so pleased with this item.

The hard plastic edging around the case will really product the iPad screen from cracking. I can flip it open and lean it so it's at the angle I want it and holds in place well due to the deep groves. Love it!

It's thin, yet sturdy, light, yet super protective. The color is gorgeous, though I'd like to know how to clean/get stains off the inside of the screen lid. The angels are great, the support is great, only "downside" (if I could even call it that, of if I'd have to say I dislike something) I suppose it's the facts that it doesn't have a slot for the pen inside like other covers. However I recently discovered specks pencil guard that clips on to the case, and I am seriously considering purchasing it. Simply put, this is a great brand. If i were to switch ,y iPad model, I'd gladly buy another speck cover, hands down, without thinking twice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would I have a choice? This is custom made isn't? Besides I First of all I had my new I-pad 10.2 inch fall out a couple of times, even the little click when pressing it in. It should be secure. The cover is sturdier than the one I had before. Perfect when standing on the table, but often , sitting on the couch having it in my lap the grooves are not deep enough and the whole thing collapses. Never had this happen with the old one.

As a stand, it is basically useless because the ipad won't stand up. It won't catch in the slots inside the case so it just remains in the flat position. I like the look of the case, and the slim protection it provides, but I will have to seek another brand so I can have the stand feature I need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this one again! Just what I wanted! It protects my new iPad, it's not too bulky but made sturdy enough to protect the screen. Love the closure on the side. When I am on facetime I can adjust the tilt of the iPad perfectly to several different positions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protective case, nice color I think this is my third total speck iPad case (updated with new generations of iPad) and they are always very protective and easy to use. I bought the green one and love the color. My only qualms include the apple pencil holder location (have to remove pencil if I fold the top back) and the raised edges of lateral side(s) of the screen since I do a lot of writing with the apple pencil (previous case had one side flush with the screen). Overall great case.

It essentially has two backs (one more than necessary!) with an annoying little flap over the camera lens. The plastic clip that closes it is so hard to get open I stopped using it. Because I carry the iPad daily, the weight really matters to me, so I ended up buying a simpler, lighter case from another company, but I decided to keep the Speck case anyway, for long-distance travel when I might want more protection. Disappointed; I love my Speck phone case.

It also utilizes the magnetic auto-close/auto-off feature, so it turns off the screen when I close it, which conserves on the battery life, if I forget to do it manually. The color combination was just what I wanted. I would buy this case again.

My 3 and 7 year old asked Dad if they could play with their iPad the day it was to come in the mail, Dad said yes and iPad got broke ( thankful we had apple care and they replaced it but as soon as it came back from repair I put the new speck case on it) my postal worker brought the case 15 minutes after the incident. I will forever buy one of these BEFORE I bring my iPad home. These are that great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as good as previous versions I've had this type case for my iPads in the past and they worked well. Speck was also great in their customer service when I had a part break. They replaced my entire case for no charge. I would give 5 stars for this particular case but it is a slightly different model and I'm finding that the side snap is hard to use. I have trouble unlatching it and even snapping it close because it is so tight against the case. Since it's purpose is to help open or close the front protective cover, I use it often and find it a pain to try to snap it off. My past cases which were for older iPads did not have this issue. Otherwise I would have given the case 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you don't mind not having a pen holder, it's a nice case. I like the color choices and material and most features but the clasp to close it is hard to work. I had a 9.7 iPad Air and I had a Targus cover which I loved. Had to get a new iPad which is bigger than my previous one. Can't get cover like my old one which was nice looking and reasonably priced. I didn't want black so I got the Speck, after much debate because it doesn't have a pen holder and I was used to one. Thought I could live with it but it's a big problem for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would look for a slightly thinner case if I started over I have a little stand I put my I pad in at night. For some reason this case is slightly thicker and won't fit in the stand. I am not sure why it is thicker? Other than that it is exactly like my previous case.

There are 3 groves on it to view the iPadin the horizontal position only ( "movie view") and doesn't have a spindle to turn the ipad and stand it up to portrait view. Now after 14-days of use, it is more difficult to attach the clip to keep the case closed. All in all it does protect the ipad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't fit the iPad 9th generation Speck known for great products but this one just is not good for my new 9th gen iPad. No matter how I try to get it in, it will pop out and is almost .125" too short on the long side. And had I been able to get it in, it is almost .125" too tall on the narrow side, and if I had gotten it in, I would not be able to turn on or off, or adjust the volumes. Bottom speakers also do no line up with the holes at the bottom. 2 stars for the color and the quality but really should be giving a single star. Very disappointed to say the least.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Design of stand not so great Nice material and color. Apparently, this design is prevalent in the industry by I just don't like the way the cover folds out as a stand. It makes the cover less stable and the pieces flop over easily. A fold out kickstand would be better for me. Solid front and rear covers would be more stable and protective. I was constantly figuring out which orientation the screen was at. Home button on the left or right, volume buttons on the top or bottom...really annoying. Not Specks fault. Most folio cases are like that. I returned it. Hopefully will hear back about a refund soon.
