Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very disappointed The right hinge broke just after a year, and it seems that it's a common occurence based on what I found online. Sony will replace the complete headband for $195 + taxes, or I can get a pair of replacement hinges from the States for $130 CAD (two tiny pieces of plastic) and do the repair myself.

Worked great until they didn't 2 and a half years into ownership of a $500 set of headphones and one day while on a call with bluetooth they suddenly produced a deafening feedback screech into my left ear which literally caused me pain and I reflexively ripped the headphones off my head. Reading forum posts I saw I am not alone. When they worked, they worked awesome. Very good noise cancelling. I rarely used it for bluetooth calls but until it broke, those calls were apparently quite good on the receiver's end. Posting here because when I'm logged in to the site there's no option to contact support, and posted methods go in circles or nowhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound is excellent, poor dual bluetooth connection Received these as a Christmas gift in 2020. Was really excited about being able to dual connect to my phone (S8) and laptop (Lenovo T480s) so that I could easily switch between listening to music from my phone and joining Teams calls for work. Immediately I began experiencing serious audio quality issues with my Teams meetings (completely garbled). Eventually the audio quality improves, but comes back after I end meeting, listen to music on phone and then have another Teams meeting (I'm in/out of meetings half the day every day). Firmware is up to date, and audio settings are configured as per instructions ("Hands-free" mode). On the forums, swaths of other people are complaining of the same issue. Really disappointing that Sony did not thoroughly test this before releasing. Hoping that they release a true acknowledgement of the issue and promise to fix before my return window is up, or I will likely return these. So far their only response is to update firmware/configure settings which we have all done. Aside from that, the audio quality of the music from my phone is top-notch. Absolutely amazing out of the box. Noise cancelling is really good too as well as the ambient sound control if you want to let in some outside noise. They are pretty lightweight and comfortable to wear. These qualities are its saving grace, but unfortunately with its extremely poor handling of secondary devices, leaves a lot less to separate these from their competitors. With everyone working from home these days, compatibility with audio conferencing (in the context of its advertised features, i.e. dual bluetooth connection) is an absolute must. If Sony addresses this sore spot, I will happily reconsider this review.

My only complaints is that it is made of all plastic (which doesn't bother me too much but its a downside), And the touch controls will take you a minute to get used to

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST HEADPHONES I EVER OWNED. I have used a lot of headphones in the past and I own many different brands of headphones. These are by far the best I have owned. I worked in recording studios for over 40 years and used a lot of professional headphones. The sound quality and the easy use of functions is ASTOUNDING! I bought these to use with my SONY receiver STR-ZA5000ES so I can listen to music late at night. I had to buy a receiver/transmitter to hook up to my A/V receiver that is not Bluetooth. So easy to pair with multiple devices and all the options available thru the app is incredible. I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for premium sound and easy to use features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WH-1000XM4 The Good, The Bad and Ugly. Good: Headphones are great with great sound compared to all headphones in the same category. Noise cancelling is one of the greatest. I have tested the noise cancelling in most crowded areas and it is one of the best. Battery life is one of the greatest I have seen so far. It is also very light weight so that you can wear it for a long time without any issues. Setting this is very easy with the sony app. The sony support is very attentive and very supportive. The Bad: If you are setting this up with multiple devices for example phone and laptop so that it can connect as soon as you switch the device it is very easy to do that but all the issues started happening after that. While connecting to the single device lets say phone if you start your laptop you will hear the message that "Second device connected" but after every 10-15 second it play the same message while you are listening the music on first device. It is so irritating and I found no solution, how to fix that. The Ugly: These headphones are not meant to be for Zoom conferencing, I had to exchange my first pair of headphones as I people were not able to hear me on the zoom calls. Also there was issues while calling to people over phone, Whenever I use to call people over phone the other party tells me that I am sounding like I am sitting very far from my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Sound I've never had noise canceling headphones before getting these, but now I know why people swear by them. The sound quality is AMAZING. You can adjust everything manually or use the preset levels to customize the sound to your audio. You can also turn the noise canceling on/off, or make it light so you can still hear noises or someone trying to talk to you. Really loving these! The other feature I love is when you take the headphones off, your audio pauses! And the controls are built into the outside of the ear pices, so you can tap to pause or swipe to change the track. Don't even need your phone!! Hands downs, these are worth every penny!

I realize now that all of the other "noise cancelling" headphones that I have bought in the past were not actually noise cancelling. These definitely are. I'm amazed by how much noise is cancelled. Even if the noise cancelling feature is turned off, these still block out a lot of noise. They sound extremely good. Music and audio are crystal clear, and there's a bit of a nice bass rumble. They were super quick and easy to connect to my laptop and my phone via bluetooth. I love that they can be connected to 2 devices. The bluetooth range seems to be very good. My home is only around 1600 sq ft and I can walk all around the house without the connection cutting out. I very much love that the noise canceling feature can be turned off to allow ambient noise in. I like to be aware of what's going on around me while I am wearing headphones out of the house. There's also a setting that pauses whatever you're listening to when you start to speak. There's also a Quick Attention mode that turns off noise cancellation and turns the music down when you need to quickly listen to something - just cover the right headphone with your hand. That's very cool! They will also pause when you take remove the headphones from your ears. They look really nice. I love the combination of matte black with copper colored logo and accents, they look great! The carrying case is very cleverly designed to allow the headphones to fold up inside it. There's a mesh netting on one side of the outside of the carrying case, I'm not exactly sure what it's for but it can hold something. It's pretty slim and flat and easy to put in a bag and take anywhere with you. The case has an airplane adapter in it, as well as a cable for wired listening, and a short USB-C charging cable. There is no instruction booklet, but I found one on the Sony website that was really helpful, it's very detailed with illustrations and videos. The app is handy, though I haven't used it very much yet. You can control many settings there, like the speak to chat feature, ambient sound control, and there's a noise canceling optimizer you can run, different equalizer settings, etc. You can turn the headphones off with the app. It will also analyze your ear shape, but I have not done this yet. You need a photo of your ears, and you have to remove any ear piercings, and I have too many to remove so I skipped it. The headphones sound absolutely fantastic just as they are. There are touch controls on the outside of the right headphone - you can use your finger to swipe up or down to control the volume, and swipe right or left for going back or forward a song. Very cool! The battery life seems to be very good. I can listen to them for hours a day and only use maybe 10 to 20% or so of the battery. They recharge pretty quickly. You can charge for 10 minutes and get 5 hours of play time, fully charge in 3 hours. They are very comfortable to wear. They're lightweight, the headband is padded and very soft, as are the ear pieces. You can slightly adjust the length to make the band a bit larger or tighter. They stay put on my head while I'm walking around and being active. It's really easy to forget you are wearing them. There are many other features that I haven't explored yet, like the voice assistant - I just don't have a use for that at the moment, but I appreciate that it's there as an option. And I don't get many phone calls so I haven't used it for hands-free calling yet. I am absolutely 100% in love with these headphones and would recommend them to anyone. They're fantastic!

And I’ve owned a lot (frequent gym rat here) these headphones aren’t lying when they say noise canceling. You can’t hear anything putting them on! So soft and comfortable that my ears don’t hurt after a hour of working out. The ear part adjust and when you take them off to talk or do whatever it actually pauses the music until you put them back on! Crazy right! I can’t tell you enough to GET THESE!! I love love love them and would highly suggest anybody looking for a great pair of headphones to get these!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Sound and Microphone Quality! Love!!! This review is for Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds. I am literally in awe of the sound quality, and all the features that these earbuds have. I did not realize it was possible to have such great noise-cancelling with earbuds, so I found myself amazed when I first tried them. I am even able to drown-out most sounds while at the gym. Additionally, the sound quality is amazing. Not only does music sound fantastic (I frequently listen to opera and musicals), but audiobooks are also clear, and I no-longer have any lost words (which is also thanks to the noise-cancelling). An important feature for me is the crystal-clear call quality. I have used them to take calls from clients, and I am able to hear and understand people leaps and bounds better than through my actual phone, while also keeping my hands free for computer use. The bone-conductor sensor detects when you are speaking, and it has a "beam" microphone that truly clearly picks-up my voice. I was initially skeptical of using earbuds for work calls without a microphone directly in front of my mouth, but clients have reported that they can clearly hear me, and I have not had a single complaint from anyone while using them. A feature that I absolutely love.... is the ability to access alexa. I have audiobooks, digital albums, play lists etc... all stored on that platform. I can now access all of that content verbally through the buds alone, without having to poke at a screen. It has been very helpful, especially while exercising, and doing chores (which is when I like to listen to books and music). I also love the long-battery life on these earbuds, and have not had any problems of losing charge while in calls, or while doing activities. On a personal note.... previously, I was not an earbud fan in general. Partially due to comfort, but also because I had better experiences with headphones. These Sony earbuds have changed that. They are comfortable to wear (even with my small ears), and the excellent sound (and call) quality, combined with all the amazing features, have made me very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing surrounding sound! These little ear buds are just the greatest little ear buds I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Just like the title states the surrounding sound is just amazing! It almost feels like I have my own personal surround sound in my ears. I just love that these work with Alexa also because all I have to do is say "Alexa what's the weather like" and she tells me before I even go outside so I know if I need a jacket or not for the day! Another thing I really love about these is the color indicator on the case when it's orange it means they need to be charged. I love that these buds are magnetic because it makes putting them away so much easier. Another feature I really love about these is my phone will tell me when they need to be charged. The app that you use with these is so easy to use! I would recommend these to anyone who loves ear buds because not only is the sound so awesome they also are noise canceling which makes for the best experience I have personally ever had from a pair of ear buds. I love that the case for these is so compact it will fit in your pocket so you can really take these with you anywhere you go! Truly the best ear buds I have personally ever owned. I love the volume also it's perfect and the pitch is not ear piercing like some other ear buds I have tried in the past. The sound is so smooth and even.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it until now I loved my pair of XM4 headphones I used them for 12 hours a day every day and suddenly right ear stopped working after only 14 months I tried all the troubleshooting guide without success. I was expecting a premium product and not some cheap product that I will have to throw away after a year. I like to invest in equipment that last for years/life and generally Japan succeed at built quality. It will cost me the price of a new headset in repairing cost. I don't want to buy Sony product again I'm too afraid that it will break right after warranty has expired and I don't feel supported by the customer service.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I did my research that these came very highly rated from a number of reputable tech websites. However, since I am not able to use them while talking on the phone they are TOTALLY USELESS AND A WASTE OF MONEY.

I’ve stuck to earbuds for the last however many years because I couldn’t use skull candy headphones with my iphone (the big ones were aux cord connected for the longest time). The charge on these bad boys lasts way longer than any set of earbuds I’ve ever had, the noise canceling feature is top-notch. I could be sitting next to a train and not hear anything.

They cancel out the noise so all you're hearing is whatever you listening to on the headphones. The sound and bass are amazing im impressed. They fit perfect on my head and are adjustable to fit. And the call quality is nice and crisp and loud. I can charge it all the way up and it lasts all day. The best thing is that its alexa compatible.

I leave it off and it still is a great noise damper. They have great sound and the buttons are really easy to find and use. I also didn't have any issues connecting them to all my devices. They hold charge for a lone time, I am so glad to have them.

Sometimes they do fall out so I just have to be careful but overall they’re really great and the sound quality is excellent.

They came with an app that allows you to change the setting for ambiance sound or TRUE noise canceling. The noise canceling is no joke, it's amazing. They fit his ears perfect, charging is fast and they last and last. Amazing. He says "it's like a private concert"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart technology These are the best quality earbuds I've ever experienced. When setting it up, it prompts you to download the app to use in conjunction. I completed the ear analyzer in the app to help maximize my listening experience. I love that it has a find my headphones feature, and when listening to music if you take one earbud out the music automatically pauses. These are the only earbuds that not only play music clearly, but I also had a 2 hour conversation with a friend using them and she heard me perfectly clearly. I'm so happy to have earbuds that actually have amazing sound and microphone quality to free up my hands! Highly recommend!

These earbuds fit snugly and are truly wireless. They connect via bluetooth and have a decent range to them. Made for Apple products, it pairs easily. With Alexa built in and a run time of between 8-16 hours between charges, these have a lot of life. Recharge happens in the case and is easy to do. Great sound quality, good ear seal, plenty of volume capability.

They setup was easy and I haven’t had connectivity issues like I’ve experienced with knockoff brands. The battery life is exceptional—even longer than the box says.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds The Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds are by far the best earbuds I have ever used. The noise cancelling is really good, even in places with conversations happening all around though it should be noted that the best noise cancelling is with lower frequency, constant sounds. These earbuds have some amazing features too, like holding the left earbud to take them out of noise cancelling mode so that you can talk to people around you. You can even make the earbuds pause the music and switch to ambient sound mode when you start speaking! This has been a game changer for me in the gym. Lastly, the sound quality is pretty good. Out of the box, they seem pretty well balanced with the highs, mids, and lows coming in almost evenly. The bass is not overbearing, but does provide a good kick, which I love. These are definitely packed with features and provide some of the best sound quality with the LDAC codec on Android. Definitely definitely recommend these if you are on the fence about them. You won't regret getting these!

You do have to download an app to use them, however I feel it is worth it considering that’s how you can adjust how they work. I also love how there is a clear bass setting in the equalizer for these, makes the bass in these amazing.

I did have to download an app to sync these to my Android phone but it took no time to install and get these bad boys going. The sound is impeccably crisp and clear! This noise canceling technology brings the sound down to a quiet muffle, if they're off, and once I add sound I can't hear distractions. I am really excited to use these when I'm doing yard work and working out.

The first few times I used it to make calls and the person on the call said I sounded muffled as if in a can. I believe I had them upside down so I turned them and sound was clearer for others. The sound in my ear is very clear. I am very happy with these WF-1000XM4 wireless earbuds. The design is also very nice.

I work in a very loud environment with 1000's of servers in racks. The fan noise of these servers can be maddening, not to mention deafening. These headphones seriously cancel the noise of all the fans to a mild hum, and allows me to listen to my music without blasting it. Taking phone calls in another plus for these. It is very easy for me to hear the caller without having to run to a quieter zone in the building.

I like the accompanying app that lets you customize the features. It's a little tricky to learn what it all has to offer though. The other tricky part are the replacement bud cushions. I tried to put on the smaller ones, and they won't stay on. They also seem like lower quality than they should be. Overall, I enjoy them. And will use them faithfully!

It's refreshing, and unexpected for something so modern. The instructions seem clear and easy to understand. The case that holds the earbuds is small and sleek in design. It has a small port in the back to charge the earbuds. It has a little heft to it. The earbuds themselves are also sleek in design.

My husband was super excited about all the bells and whistles that are available with the app. However he was sorely disappointed (2 stars). App was glitchy. Setup was time consuming. The 360 sound was incredible with the sample but hard to replicate with Amazon music or iTunes. Ambient sound function is cumbersome. Now the good news! Earbuds produce amazing sound. Earbuds fit my ears great but my husband thinks they fit okay. Charge lasts a good amount of time. Packaging in cardboard is AMAZING. None of that plastic crap.

I am so happy I’ve given Sony Noise-Cancelling True-Wireless Earbuds - WF-1000XM4 a shot! They were easy to pair with my iPhone. The sound and call Quality is phenomenal. It’s like having them right there in the room and no worry about background noise ! These earbuds are super comfy and don’t hurt my ears like others have in past. They charge up quickly and I love that I can use wireless charging and no worrying about having to find the charging cord. They hold a charge awhile I’ve used them on and off for days and haven’t had to worry about charging. Must have if you’re looking for some earbuds.

To begin with, I like they used environmentally friendly packaging for the little box. The box contains 3 different size ear tips, charging cable and case with the earbuds. The design of the earbuds looks premium and feels good. The sound is amazing. Excellent noise cancellation and fantastic audio quality. The music is clear with the bass just right. The excellent battery life was about 8 hours. These earbuds are better than any others I have used. Audiophiles like myself will love these. Very impressive, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

You get totally engulfed and submerged in the music when using these. The sound quality it top notch on every gene of music I listen to. The bass in these tiny things are awesome also. They get really loud too. So sound quality is A+. When I first got these and opened them they are packaged so well nice and safe. It comes with the pair of headphones, charging/holding case, charging cable, earbuds to fit your ears, and instruction manuals. Everything you need is packed with it. These are the easiest headphones I ever paired with my phone. The instructions were very clear I actually didn't even need them to pair them up but they are unused if needed. You can follow on the prompts on your phone when pairing. There is also an app you can download for a more personalized experience. Charging these are also really easy just plug in and done the light on the case turns off when fully charged. The headphones charge and so does the case so every time you use them and put them back in the case the case charges them which is great. They stay charged for a good while and then charge quickly too. It has touch function that is easy to use to play, pause, fast-forward, rewind, ambient mode and noise cancelling mode. You can also answer and hang and phone calls that come through while your listening to music. The calls are loud nice and clear. These headphones are light weight also. I wear them to work and have them in for hours at a time and I don't have an issue with rhem. They are snug and stay in place while nodding to music. This is definitely the best set of wireless headphones I've had.

I've tried a few other wireless earbuds before trying the WF-1000XM4's and let me start off by saying that this has been the most positive connectivity experience EVER. When I first took them out of the case, they were near my phone and Google Assistant *magically* prompted me to connect them. The recommended Sony app was painless to use and allowed for a lot of customization. Moving on to the comfort of the earbuds themselves, I have what I would call S-M ears and I used the S foam inserts, which were really comfortable. I was afraid the buds were going to feel too heavy but once you put them in exactly as the app shows you, there's no risk of them falling out. The other crazy thing the app does is walk you through a test to ensure there is no sound leakage - again absolute tech magic, not sure how they do it, but it works. Overall, these feel really comfortable and I could wear them for hours. Next, I'd like to talk about the sound quality. Sony really outdid themselves here, WOW. The sound fidelity is so spot on, every note is crisp, clear, pronounced. The active noise canceling is some of the best on the market, it's really something you have to experience for yourself. I usually listen to podcasts while cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and have to crank up the sound because it's hard to hear through the clinking of glasses and loading the dishwasher. NOT WITH THESE! The active noise canceling made the ambient sounds of me cleaning up a distant whisper. I can finally listen to my podcasts without having to crank up the sound so loud! Overall, these pack an incredible punch in a such a small size. I'll be gifting my husband a pair for Christmas!

They were comfortable to my ear at first but after wearing them for a while they did start to hurt a bit but then all ear buds irritate my ears after wearing them a while. They are a little bulky feeling in my ears and it took a little getting used to plus I had one fall out a couple of times. The software app is good and easy to use. The only reason I did not give them a 5 star is because of the price as they are expensive but the ear buds are definitely a 5 star quality. I wish they had the silicone ear tips instead of the foam tips, I am concerned that they could come off. There are some extra earbud tips in small and large so that you can use the ones that are a fit for you. The battery life is good and lasted several hours. These are some high end earbuds with a phenomenal sound and if you don’t mind the cost then these are definitely a must have.

I found the packaging a bit disconcerting as it had prominently iPhone app and instructions predominantly. Made me feel that my android wouldn't work. Concerned. I researched if these would work with android, and I did find that they would work fine and were super simple to pair. I got them open, and their fun outer box seems like great recyclable packaging. The box that the ear buds come in is sturdy, compact. It has a light indicator on the front.when you pop lid open telling you how the buds charge level is. Green fully charged, yellowish orang, partially charged and red, needs to be charged before using. They will also alert you when you pop them in your ears. There is a short charging USB cord. Make sure you have an easy place to charge, as it won't stretch too far. There are different gaskets, sleeves or if you will ear cushions, for you to select and try to see which fit best in your ears. Not all ears and ear openings are the same! You pop them in and when you grab off charger/case, they will state fully charged when you tap to fit in the ears. You can tap to start listening to music, movie, app. Or, you can tap to allow for noise reduction. Sometimes just having them in to block outside noises was nice. I wasn't sure if I would like how they felt in, but I honestly got so used to them being in, I almost forgot they were in my ears. I found the sound to be so crystal clear, the Sony quality was there. We have Sony TV, speakers, DVD player, and have for years, I had high expectations and they didn't disappoint. Execellent quality sound, easy to pair, click to play or pause: it couldn't have been smoother orbetter or easier to use. The sounds quality, the styling, the tap to use, quick charging and long lasting charges make these very wonderful and fun to use. I did not jog or do exececises with these, and would be frightened to try without maybe and ear band over ears to ensure they don't fall out of my ears. They have a decent weight to them and are heavy, but you really forget they are in after a while. Sony ear buds bring the music, action, enjoyment closer, better, and clearer than you can imagine. Excellent product.

I usually have a harder time finding ear buds that fit comfortably in my ears; however that has changed with these. Not only are they comfortable but the quality and sound of them is absolutely excellent. They are super easy to connect to any device through bluetooth. I love how long the battery lasts in these earbuds and how fast they charge, with only charging 5 minutes giving you at least an hour of listening time, and that you can charge them wirelessly. I really like that these are also water resistant so if i'm sweating it will not affect the quality of them. I also like that they are truly noise canceling, so many claim to be but these really are. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a high quality, comfortable pair of earbuds from a well known brand as you will not be disappointed by them.

This pair is definitely top level. I really like these headphones. The sound quality of these headphones is beautiful. It is super clear with great depth in tone and wonderful bass. They do a great job of canceling noise around you. There is an app you can download for playing and other controls for the headphones. You can also start, stop, skip forward or back just by tapping or swiping on the outside of the headphones themselves. That is a fun feature that works pretty well. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it to work but as you get used to it you can adjust your touch to better work this feature. Another feature I love is if you speak the headphones automatically stop the playing audio. This is so nice. When you need to speak with someone or quickly hear what is going on around you, you don't have to spend time fussing with controls to stop the audio broadcast. These headphones come in a nice case that protects them nicely. They are easy to connect to your device. They are stylish and comfortable to wear. There is plenty of cushion at the top of the headband so they rest nicely on the top of the head without digging in. They have a good range of adjustment on the sides to fit several different sizes. These headphones are high quality and well made. They work great with many useful and convenient features and have superior audio quality.

I dislike using earbuds and I don't like headsets that lay on my ears. These lay around the ear and create a seal around the ear. The weight of these on my head are very light. After a while, I do not realize I am wearing them. The quality feel of these are very good. There is nothing flimsy about them. This headset does that. When I powered them up and put them on, I immediately noticed the noise cancelling working. The room became quiet. I used to travel a lot for work and when on a plane would crave a noise cancelling headset. I no longer travel, but these have so many advantages for use on a plane. These are adaptive. So they will work the best for the environment you are in. The sound is incredible. I am getting up in years and I need a headset I can clearly hear the lyrics and music. There is an app that compliments this headset. There are equalizer settings within the app. I adjusted to the levels I prefer and the headset remembers the settings. The app is a must for this headset. I believe it will work without it, but the app gives much more control of the settings of the headset. Some of the notable features in the app are the equalizer, connect to two devices at the same time, button reassignment, headset updates. Yes, this app will update the headset software on the headset. There is an app for Android and iPhone. I set the app to allow to pair to two devices and paired to my Windows Laptop. The headset paired without issue. I can switch audio between the laptop and my Android phone without having to repair each time. There is a carry case with international style audio adapter for a plane. USB C Charging cable. And a audio cable to hard plug into the phone or other devices. Google Assistant and Alexa work with this device, but I do not use either, thus have not tested it. The instructions are done in pictures. It helps to have a little knowledge of how Bluetooth devices pair. And how these types of headsets operate. The instructions are easy to follow and I was up and running in a matter of a moment.

Our teenage son were gifted these, and he is really happy with them (not nearly as happy as we were to get back our Marlys...and a busted up Beats..do not recommend those for teens,) I would absolutely recommend these for parent that are struggling to instill the same kind of love we had for music in our formative years. I got these headphones for him to use while he edits his songs, and he loves them. They block out outside noise, and he has described the sound as “crisp”. He’s very pleased with these. They are built well, and seem quite sturdy. They even came with a hard case to put them in when they’re not being used which is excellent because he tends to break things. Overall, we are both really happy with these headphones. The quality is A+

The sound quality is fantastic and can be tweaked using the app to find the levels that work for the media you are listening to, including a bunch of preprogrammed settings. The noise-canceling feature works extremely well and removes you from the environment around you. I recently used them on a flight that had a bunch of children and crying babies and, with the headphones on, I didn't even know that they were there. I am super happy with everything these headphones have to offer.

After two months of use, she has been complaining about the constant static in the headphones. I made sure she downloaded the Sony App to perform the necessary troubleshooting steps, but she still complains about the static. She has now escalated to contacting Sony Support and they performed some troubleshooting steps - so we will see what will happen - but since the static started soon after purchase, we are not that optimistic considering other reviews.

I use them mostly to listen to podcasts or audio books while I am working around my house and to answer phone calls. I am amazed at the difference these noise-cancelling headphones make. I can vacuum, be running the dishwasher or cooking with the exhaust fan on and I can still hear very clearly what is being broadcast. I do have a slight hearing loss so these headphones have improved my ability to hear every word much more than just the earbuds. The other thing that I appreciate about these is their range. While I am working I can go out to my garage and grab something, go upstairs, move around from room to room and not have a disconnection with my phone. Such an improvement over the earbuds. I have not had a chance to use them on an airplane, but I am sure that I will not be dissappointed! They were extremely easy to set up the connection to my phone another,plus for these headphones.

The user instructions are easy to follow and my headphones were up and running in no time. You will need to download the Sony Headphones Connect app, but it's easy and includes some cool features as well. They are very comfortable on the ears and head and fairly light weight as well. I mostly use these for non-exercising activities, but I have no doubt they could be used for running with how comfortable yet snug they fit. The touch control options on the outside of the ear are easy to use and convenient. The sound is just fantastic and is true surround sound. You are completely immersed in your music or movie your watching. I have mainly just used these at home or the office, but excited to travel with them this fall for use on planes. The battery life is also great and they have a fast charge feature if you are in need of some juice but don't have a lot of time. These are just very smart, comfortable, and intuitive. Great overall product.

I work on a shop floor and wear these every night to listen to music while working I love how easy it is to turn noise canceling off but wish that it would automatically pause the music at the same time instead of having to do two separate gestures to pause and turn off noise canceling. Upon opening, there is a white powdery film on the inner fabric and a tear. Same with the right pad except no tear. With my thumb, I am able to feel what.might be the connection to the overheard plastic apparatus but uncertain. The product has never been worn so don't understand how this could occur and if it will be a continuous issue and if.it.needs to be replaced annually. When I contacted support was told the pads were available for purchase and they would not recommend of discourage the purchase of the sponge under the fabric of the earpad. The fact I have to purchase replacement, install and likely replace over and over the pads for a $300 set of headphones is ludicrous. I was told by tech that if the event show up consistently that Sony will address the issue. Please notify Sony if this has happened to you as well.

I always wanted a pair of headphones that would be able to cancel noise at the gym and wherever else I may go that often has a bustling atmosphere, and these do the perfect job. They have a sleek design that can be adjusted and fits comfortably on my head, and don't feel heavy or uncomfortable. It has a sleek and cutting-edge design that is brilliantly unique as well. Not to mention, the sound quality is pristine and has beautiful quality audio. I would listen to podcasts oftentimes before having these, but after using these while listening the experience is completely different- from better sound quality, to picking up small details in audio, this really does the trick. The extra features such as the multiple-device pairing and sound control have additionally made my experience so much better. I truly can't recommend these enough- definitely, a must-buy!

The fold flat and store compactly which is super convenient for travel or to just throw in your purse or gym bag. The 360 audio is great, it sounds so much better than regular headphones. I used these on vacation at the pool when there were a bunch of kids yelling and screaming. They worked great. I am so happy with them. Will be using them in 3 weeks when I head to FL on a plane. I predict they will be awesome.

They appear well-made and have impressive features, which include bluetooth, touch sensors, voice-command functionality, and excellent audio. They even come with a nice-looking storage case. If you know that you enjoy wearing noise-canceling headphones, I'd recommend these for you. However, I do not enjoy the suction-cup feeling on my ears when wearing these, and they make my ears feel hot and sweaty. Also, there is a low hum sound that is unpleasant to my highly-sensitive hearing. I cannot see myself wearing these for more than an hour at a time.

But there are a few fine details when you dl the app. Remember to pay attention to all the features and what they do. They do a test run of the difference between Sony headphones and regular. But when the music plays from tidal I don’t get the same experience as the example. I feel the sound quality should be out of this world. But I feel like it sounds the same from my Sony’s as any other headset. I’ve tried to play around with it. Do different music apps including tidal! And it’s just not what I expected! Sony is an awesome brand with futuristic qualities!

I downloaded the app and paired very quickly with my cell phone. The charge lasts a really long time for wireless headphones and they charge really fast. The noise cancelling is amazing. I used on a plane, in the airport, walking on the sidewalk, and at home. I guess the headphones automatically adjust to your environment, which is really cool. The sound quality is excellent as well as the noise canceling. I wear them while working. Love that they can connect to two devices at the same time. I connect them to my phone and laptop so I can listen to music and answer video calls without needing to turn the music off and take them off. The microphone is great and calls are very clear. The 3D audio feature is quite neat, however you must have a paid subscription with streaming music services that can utilize it. The battery lasts through the work. I do need to charge them daily, but that's to be expected with noise-canceling headphones. The touch controls are intuitive once you learn them. They are quite smart and can tell when you take them off and will pause your music. They can also tell when you are sitting and when your walking - and will adjust the noise-canceling levels accordingly. I am very happy with these headphones!

Bass was lacking a little at full volume, but at moderate volume it was good. The ability to cup the right headphone and hear all outside noises was a great feature that worked well so you don’t have to remove them to hear someone talking to you. Comfort was excellent and very light considering they are full size headphones.

The sound quality is unreal and the noise cancelling works great. I mow lawn and weed wack with these on and can hear the music perfectly. I love the sensor in the left ear that stops the music when you take them off and restarts when you put them back on. All in all I am absolutely loving these Headphones.

I'm not normally a fan of over the ear sets, they tend to be tight. The WH-1000XM4 fit my large head comfotably with plenty of room for adjustment left on the headband to go larger. They charged up quickly and have an incredible battery life of nearly 30 hours. It connected easily to my phone and controls are simple to use. The sound quality of this headset is phenomenal the spacial separation and 360 suround features remind me of listening to music on my turntable back in the day. I developed some noise induced hearing loss over the years and having equalizer control over my music through the Sony app allows me to tune every frequency to just right level for a great listening experiance. They also paired up with my Smart TV so now I can watch movies at night in full surround sound without blowing my girl out of the room and still hear every word. This setup also come with 3 noise cancelation settings. You can have it muffled like regular headphones, block out nearly every sound around you or you can set it to allow ambient noise so you can hear the world going on around you while you enjoy your tunes. You can even touch the side and turn the music down to have a conversation and never take them off, move your hand and they crank right back up. The WH-1000XM4 headsets also come with a sturdy case and a few accesories that allow you to plug into any non bluetooth device or air line headphone connection during your travels. These headsets are comfortable enough to wear all day, listent to tunes, take care of your business on the phone and never worry about running out of power. You won't leave home without them!

I have always used Sony headphones from earbuds to on ear my last 2 sets have been Sony and they are great headphones but as soon as I put the WH-100XM4 on the difference in sound quality was evident immediatly. deep low basslines and crisp highs and a good balance in the mids absolutely blew mw away. I should have made the purchase of a great pair of Noise Canceling headphones years ago but the orice always fely like it was just a bit too high but I finally decided to take the plunge and wow is all I can say these are by far the best sounding headphones I have ever owned. The nois canceling is also really good as soon as I put these on the whole world seems to just disappear int silence and them the music starts and I am no longer commuting to work or even just sitting on my couch I am in the music and all other distractions are no longer heard. I can't believe it took me this long to finally break downm and buy a set of highend headphones but now that I have there is no looking back now i will have these for hopefully years to come or until the next great Sony headphones com,e out

Seamless easy Bluetooth connect, NFC connect, 30 hours of play time and if the battery dies, a 10 min charge gives you 5 hours! Simply put, these headphones are amazing. They have Google assistant, Alexa and hands free HD calling built in, which has proved itself detrimental when I am working outside or during my workouts. The soft earcuffs hug your ears with the perfect pressure to not slide but does not squeeze overbearing. The sound is out of this world! The 360 adaptive feature feels as if you are surrounded in concert with clarity. They come equipped with an airplane cord connect, a usb-c for charging, headphone cable and rigid carrying carrying case. Everytime I think these headphones can't get any better, I find another feature that impresses me. I've had many headphones ranging from skull candy to Beats by Dre and these are light-years of head of them in sound, clarity, technology and comfort. Best headphones ever. Hands down.

These headphones have true Noise Canceling and are Truly wireless. These may seem petty or even miniscule to the masses, however, upon pulling the wrap off the box, the box itself felt quality made. I pulled the inner box out, and pulled out the case (yes these come with a hard shell case). Upon pulling the headphones out, they felt very nice, not too heavy, and constructed of a good quality. They fit very nice to my head and are "Over the Ear" style and not "Sit On Top" style. I much rather have over the ear personally. The cushions felt very nice, soft, and comfortable. I have other headphones that I love and thus far these where on par. They paired seamlessly to my phone. There is an app they recommend you downloading and I would recommend it as well, if for nothing else then for the adaptive listening it enables and for the custom fit (it fits the sound and noise canceling to your ears). The Noise Canceling feature makes it as if you are in your own world. I had my kids and wife yell while standing only a couple feet from me and I couldn't hear them in the slightest. Design: Awesome; Feel: Awesome; Comfort; Very Good. Now, Sound, the part we all are concerned with. So, as Stereo sound goes, these are Great. Bass is Great, you don't feel like it is beating inside your head but have an awesome bass sound. The music is crisp, fluid, and of Extremely high quality. So, Sound: Awesome. Features: These have an auto pause feature that will pause your music or video if you take them off and begins playback when putting them back on. It does have Alexa built in and Google assist. The 360 Real Audio is phenomenal. If you use a Hifi music app, the sound quality is amplified. With the 360 Real Audio, it makes the sound seem as if you are completely immersed in the music and the sound. For me, music is a huge part of life and these have brought me a new listening experience. I look forward to many hours to come. There are many more features that the Sony app brings to these headphones but too many to list here. Cons: The only con I have is that for long duration listening the top of my head begins to hurt. The padding at the top, I wish, was a bit softer.

These are worth whatever the price is. The noise canceling is fantastic, and can adjust to your surroundings. It also has a Speak to Chat function that allows you to have a conversation with ease and without fumbling with a pause button. Also, if you take your headphones off, the music automatically pauses for you. Brilliant! Sony really put thoughtful consideration into designing this product and thought about all the bells and whistles you never knew you needed. Hands down the best. My one complaint is so minor compared to all the features, and that’s the length of the USB charger. It’s very short and not really practical to use everyday. It does come with an adapter for airplane use though which is an added bonus. They are also extremely comfortable. It comes with the capability to pair with Alexa and can complete calls too. The controls for everything are right on the super soft headphone and these are completely wireless. I’ll be purchasing a pair for my husband because I know he’ll be stealing these from me.

With the WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones, I can hear crystal clear and have total noise cancellation from the kids or whatever is going on at home. First, let me say that these are super comfortable and not heavy on my ears. I sometimes have to wear them for hours with no discomfort at all. Secondly, pairing is easy and there is a multi-pairing feature so you can take calls, without having to remove your headphones and can switch between your music on one device and calls on another with the touch sensor. You can also skip tracks, adjust the volume control, and activate your voice assistant with the touch control. I like that your music pauses when you remove the headphones and will start back where you were when you put them back on. There is a speak to chat that automatically adjusts volume when making calls so your calls are very clear. The battery life is excellent and will give you up to 30 hours when fully charged. Lastly, the microphones (5) pick up every word with precise clarity. The sound quality is unbelievable! I can honestly say I love my Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones!

The sound is perfect – deep, rich and with great range. They also offer 360 Reality Audio (with accompanying subscription or trial to compatible streaming service), which is mind blowing. It’s a totally immersive surround sound experience for your headphones. The noise-cancellation feature works well – low level background noise (air conditioner, keyboard clicks, etc) are totally removed while louder noise are substantially muted. Comfort while wearing is good but my ears do feel a bit squeezed after wearing for more a couple hours – hoping that goes away with more frequent usage. The Bluetooth connection is easy to setup, stable and allows up to 2 devices to connect to the headphones at the same time. Most settings are managed through the app - I'd prefer to skip another app install but it’s light and well organized. There are also some interesting software features that I wasn’t expecting like ambient noise control, which changes the level of ambient sound that’s blocked based on location or activity (think, more cancellation in a seated environment vs more ambient noise for awareness while walking on the street). Speak-to-chat is another handy feature that turns off the noise cancelling when you start to talk. The touchpad on the ear is also a convenient way to control volume, tracks, play/pause and answer calls. Overall, I’m very impressed with these headphones and would highly recommend.

I find that the included USB cable is too short for charging with a desktop computer so I used my own USB Type-C cable and adapter which worked out perfectly. While they are charging there is a red indicator light which goes out once they are fully charged. The 30+ hour battery life is more then sufficient. I love that you can charge them for about 10 minutes and get 5 hours of usage. The touch sensor controls are easy to use. These are so comfortable to wear, they are lightweight and where they cup over your ears is very soft. You can easily adjust them for the size and shape of your head and they stay put. They work great for when I want to listen to music while in the same room with someone who is watching television because the noise cancelling is amazing, I can honestly say I can not hear the television at all, not can I hear anyone in the same room speaking.. I have used them with my computer, tablet and T.V. and my husband has used them with his phone and we both are amazed at the sound quality. I love the hard shell case to protect them when not in use or when you want to take them with you when you leave the house, the cords have their own little compartment as well as the headphones. I absolutely love that they have Alexa built in. I highly recommend these headphones.

They fit my big head but are also adjustable so my kids and wife can use them. I create music as a hobby and these have shown up all my old pairs of headphones. The noise cancelation is real and I can’t hear anything else but what comes from these. My kids even try to get my attention and I can see their lips moving but nothing else. The charge lasts a long time and I like the buttonless navigation on the earphone themselves. Power button is easy to locate and the usb type c cable input is right there too. Another great feature is the Voice assist function so I can hands free navigate when I need to. The carrying case it comes with is well made and convenient. There isn’t anything I don’t like about these.

The headphones are sturdy in the hand yet light and comfortable when worn. The headphones come with a case and charging cable. The case is a bonus because I mean were does one store their headphones? The headphone ear pads are large and plush. The band that goes around your head is size adjustable and fits the smallest to the biggest of heads. The sound quality of these is amazing! I tried them while cooking in the kitchen and the noise cancelling eliminated all the sounds of my home and I was able to listen to my podcast uninterrupted. The headphones feel smooth to the touch and I love how they charge with the same cable as my cellphone. I would recommend these headphones to anyone who loves listening to music and podcast in peace and quiet.

As of this moment, these are THE BEST headphones I've ever owned. They were easy to set up, the app walks you through the process and also lets you set the configuration you like, like bass and such. They also ask for pictures of your ears to maximize your sound experience. And that is exactly what it is, an experience. I listened to some of my favorites and I noticed that these headphones picked up on sound nuances that I never noticed before when I listened to the same music in my car. I used these to do yard-work, I didn't even hear my mower running, so the noise canceling function is amazing. A nice case as well as charging and auxiliary cords were included. They have great battery life too.These headphones are awesome and I would definitely recommend them.

They are very comfortable and has the best noise cancelling headphone. The music comes through full and clear, one thing I noticed is that when You have the headphones on and people are talking you won’t be able to hear anything they are saying even with the music off that is how good and concealed they are. Sony has finally created a XM4 headphone that has multipoint pairing. I’m very pleased with my headphones I Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good quality concealed headphones!!

The noise canceling is better than other headphones I have used and controls on the unit are easy to use. You do have to use an app to get started with these but it is intuitive and easy to use. The only drawback I have is the charging cord that came with the headphones is extremely short for a charging cord and it doesn’t come with an AC adapter, it’s USB to USB-c. Even if you use an AC adapter you need a longer cord with the USB-C. Overall the short cord is a small inconvenience but definitely something to be aware of but the sound quality of these more than make up for it.

These Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless headphones sound amazing. They truly do block out the background noise and are a comfortable fit. They don't hurt after long use and most certainly I don't get sweaty with them either. I had no issues pairing these and neither did my 13 year old son. These rock and you can't beat the sound quality. I would absolutely recommend!

Without a doubt the most comfortable headphone I ever wore.The headphone became extension of my head and ears,so there is no bending of the ear or pressure on the ear.They are very comfortable,I could wear these literally all day.The build quality is great and the noise canceling function is amazing.I can connect these headphones to 2 blue tooth devices.I barely ever charge the batteries and the headset gives a warning with 1-2 hours of listening time left,so I have ever been stranded needing to use the included cable-lasts about 2 weeks between charges with my current use. All the touch controls are reliable and customizable buttons are great for hearing text messages,asking Alexa/google questions,adjusting noise canceling modes etc. Overall great sound,nice quality,rich features and very comfortable.If you are looking for noise cancellation at its best,don’t look elsewhere and buy this immediately,you will not regret it.

Crisp, clear, nice base! Instructions say east set up, to download the app then connect. I connected without. I'm sure once I play around with the app I can enhance the sound quality even more. I happen to be watching the premiere of Dancing WTS in the background and these headphones definitely canceled out the noise at a low volume. Would probably be great on a plane or trying to cancel out the sounds for peace and quiet when you can't find peace and quiet. Im excited to put these to good use. If you purchase them you won't be disappointed!

While you wear these you can't hear absolutely anything. I love all the features that it has. You can pause the music just by placing your palm on the side of the headset. There is also a feature that lets you pause the music when you speak. The battery life is great and lasts several hours. Overall I loved this product and would absolutely recommend it.

The sound quality on these headphones is great and the noise cancellation does a great job of reducing the outside noise. Another thing that I like about these headphones is that the battery seems to last forever which is pretty nice if you use them for work or you don't feel like plugging them in all the time. The one gripe that I have with these headphones though is how you change the volume or rewind or skip music. You see they have you swipe on the right side of the headphones like you would a tablet which makes raising the volume rather tedious because you have to swipe multiple times. I prefer having a button for these functions because its much easer to press a button than swiping multiple times.

I have had some Bose QCIIs for a long time and these blow them away. The touch controls take some practice but once your used to them they feel natural and well thought out. Highly recommend!

I figured it was time to try out a new pair. I've been very pleasantly surprised by how well this set of wireless noise-canceling headphones. Here are my favorite features: • REALLY long battery life. I wear these wireless noise-canceling headphones most of the day on conference calls and typically only need to charge them once a week. My other pair I had to charge nightly. • Comfort - These are very comfortable to wear -- even for extended periods. • Smart Control - I love that these automatically pause music/playback when you take them off. Ingenious! The gesture controls built in for volume are also a nice touch. • Adjustable EQ - You can adjust the playback to suit your needs. Highly recommended!

Upon opening this product I was blown away with how nice the traveling case was to protect the head phones. The charging cable and airplane cable fit perfectly in the case. The headphones themselves are made so well and the directions made set up a breeze. These headphones are the highest quality I’ve ever seen, you even take a picture of your ears for the best output. The cupping of the ear is comfortable and secure, the sound is impeccable. I have used these while running and on the tractor and it blocks out all surrounding sound and adjusts perfectly to the environment. They are extremely easy to charge and the charge lasts so long compared to other headphones I’ve used. Everything about these headphones is amazing and I highly recommend them to anyone on a search for a great pair.

I always put my headphones in when cutting grass, running, etc. The outside noise when cutting the grass, the hearing of your own breathing while running, led me to these. I walked outside with them the first time and was amazed at the outside sounds were very weak. I decided to give it a try while cutting the grass, and I was equally impressed. The noise cancelling ability is trully amazing. If I had one con about this product, its the size. I think all noise cancelling products are this big, but the pros definetly outweigh the cons. I use these all the time now when running and cutting grass. Very peaceful!

The sound is so real that it has made me jump thinking something was by me. The battery last me all day. I like that there is also a quick charge plus an audio cord if needed. There's an adapter for in flight listening. The volume, pause, call song skip are all as easy as a finger swipe on the ear pieces. I can relax an not be interrupted by surrounding noise. The are the best earphones I have used and I have tried some pretty high end ones. They are light weight, the ear cups are soft and so comfortable. I love that they come with a protective carrying case. Great for traveling.

They come with a charging cable, a really nice case, a 3.5mm cable, and an airplane adaptor. The headphones themselves have an extremely premium feel in the hand, they are made of a nice matte plastic that feels smooth and soft. The ear cups are very large and fit over my ears quite nicely. they are comfortable to wear all day without any problems or irritation. The sound is the best you will find on a pair of closed-back consumer oriented over ear headphones, and if you are unsatisfied you just have to install the Sony Headphones app and you can play with lots of settings like the equalizer and the amount of ambient sound that you want to let in. I use the app and find it very useful and simple to use. The bass is deep and the mids and highs can be great if you work with the equalizer and the type of music you are listening to. In my experience it sounds best to boost the mids and highs in the app. The noise cancellation is where these headphones excel. They have world class noise cancellation and I really like how well it works. Walking down a busy street with people and cars whizzing by and you can be listening to your music undisturbed. Of course you will still hear the cars and the people but the sound reduction is very significant. The right ear cup is where the controls are located. Cover the ear cup and you can talk and hear people. Swipe forward=skip track, swipe backward=go back a track, double tap in the middle=pause the song. While walking and listening to a new playlist these gestures are a breeze and quite convenient to use. I really enjoy these headphones and they work wonderfully for my needs. They are very well made and pretty simple to use. I would definitely recommend them and I am very happy with them.

It has a QR Code that you can scan to take you where you need to download the app for the headphones, then you power on the headphones and connect them via the app. It was great to start using the headphones right out of the package, no charging needed. I've been using it for several days, and still haven't had to charge it. When setting up in the app, it has the option of downloading an app to use the 360 Reality Audio, which I did not do, because they cost money. That is my one major con with these headphones, is that to get the concert like sound you have to pay extra, but I have really enjoyed them without using this feature. When I first starting wearing the headphones, they felt a little tight, but after using them several times, that feeling has gone away, and they feel very comfortable. The noise cancelling feature of these headphones is really one of its best features. It doesn't block out everything, but the amount it does block out is amazing. I've used them while vacuuming, and I can hear the songs I'm listening to crystal clear. I've had people try to talk to me while using them, and unless I was looking at them, I didn't know they were talking to me. The sound has been great! I mostly listen to music, and the sound quality has been awesome. I can really hear all the layers of the music really well. I've also been able to walk away from my device that I am playing my music on and still have connection to the headphones in almost every room in my house, which is amazing! Another feature that I have really enjoyed is the ability to change volume, play/pause, and change songs just by touching or swiping the outside of the right headphone. To play or pause I just have to press in the middle of the headphone, to increase volume I swipe up, decrease volume swipe down. And to change songs swipe to the right, or left to go to the previous song. It's really convenient and I don't have to walk back to my device if I've walked away from it to change the song or volume. The headphones fit really nicely and compactly into a carrying case that comes with the headphones, which keeps them safe during storage or traveling. Sony really thought about everything when they made these headphones!

I mowed my lawn with these on and I could not hear my riding mower. I was definitely surprised on how well these don't let noise through. The over the ear design is very comfortable. There is an app you can download to help adjust settings. One setting that is pretty cool is when I start talking the noise cancellation feature turns off so I can hear myself and whoever else i am talking to. You can adjust settings to fit almost every need and personalize them to your needs. The sound quality is awesome and probably the best I have heard from a pair of headphones. These also came with a ver nice traveling/storage case. I would definitely recommend these for anyone in the market for a high quality pair of headphones. I am not disappointed in these headphones and glad I got them.

I love it but I’m returning it even though I got $278 vs $350. Was excited till got stress on every situation. Lost on the menu like google vs simple Apple menu. Maybe it’s not eye candy or attractive Sony app. 360 app not sure if it’s free I don’t want to have hard time canceling. Not sure if I can wire connect to my old music gadget, movies with my 65 x900h , piano, PS4 pro, or this just for music exclusively. My PS4 platinum is 7.1 surround sound with music, movies, gaming, mode. Now preordered 3D tempest ps5 headset. I hope Sony will put an advanced info about their product cause I end digging info some place else and no answer found not even from reviews. Definitely not for me if it’s not universal use but a must buy for outdoor phone walking people mostly. I’m the problem because I just want product that I unboxed and ready to go like my 65inc x900h tv no calibration or ps5 will be easy to use. I just wasted my day doing research on where else can I use this product other than music or noise canceling or pairing two gadgets. When putting on these headphones all you can hear is what you have playing on the headphones. I love how they are comfortable and fit great. You can have two different devices hooked up at the same time which is perfect for answering phone calls and then going back to listening to your music. There is so many options for these headphones and all of them work great. The Sound on these will blow you away and I definitely would recommend buying these for yourself or as a gift.

This is my first part of noise-canceling headphones that, indeed, cancel and remove all noise from around you so that all you hear is what is coming from the ear pieces. They're super comfortable on both the ears and the top of the head. They're adjustable to the size and fit you like, and give super a stellar sound. The buttonless buttons on the ear piece got a little getting used to, but that is also just another cool feature to love. They come in an awesome, classy storage case where they fold up and nest easily inside. One unique feature that I didn't expect is the downloadable app aspect where you set up and connect your headphones to your devices via an app from Sony. At first I wasn't sure I liked that, but I actually think it's a pretty cool, very modern way of doing things. Overall, I really love these and feel like they were a great investment, especially with the quality of sound and comfort!

The Sony wireless noise canceling headphones caught my attention because of the features. Quick charging just 10 minutes of charging gives 5 hours of playback time. On a full charge 30 to 38 hours of playback time. Hands free calling, and voice assistants features all easy to use. Comes with headphone cable, Plug in adaptor and USB type C cable. The sound is so clear giving a high quality performing audio above others I have used. Noise canceling works for me while listening even with others around me or even the television on I can concentrate on what I am listening too without disruptions.

I’ve had several different types of headphones and use them for all types of things from gaming to listening to music. I’ve always struck out trying to find some that I loved, until I received these. They fit great over the ear and does a awesome job of canceling all noise around you. A few things I really enjoyed is that To activate the sound mode all you have to do is start talking. When you remove the headphone the music stops automatically and then when you place them back on the music starts. If your looking for awesome noise canceling headphones then you have definitely found the right one. Easy to sync with your phone and connect. Battery lasted for several hours before needing charged. You can connect 2 devices at the same time. Love it!!

These are by far the best noise-cancelling headphones I’ve had. I was able to completely cancel most, if not all, of the background noise with noise cancellation mode, including the noise from my air conditioner. There’s also an option to turn ambient sound on or off in addition to the noise cancellation option under the custom button. The touch sensor controls are simple and highly responsive. I was able to easily control my volume and pause/play/skip my music. Cupping my hand over the right ear cup also lets me turn on transparency mode to allow background noise in. These headphones also detect if I’m wearing them so it automatically pauses my music. These headphones are super comfortable to wear and have a great fit. It also comes with a case which keeps it nice and tidy with the divided sections for cables and the plug adaptor. Overall, these have easily become my number one favorite set of noise cancellation headphones because of the features and comfort it offers.

They dont look like it, but they are actually touch screen, you can swipe up down, press pause, change the song and volume on the side. they fit comfortably on your head(i had my 2year old wear them, my husband and myself, they fit everyone) They are certainly noise cancelling and work great! They come in an awesome hard case that will protect them. Another cool feature is they know when you take the headphones off of your head. It Auto pauses our song. Super cool!

Getting the attention of my family member to go deal with food in the kitchen or clean up their laundry used to be frustrating before I had them try these headphones. These have a special feature where it not only cancels out the noise, it auto-pauses their music when you interrupt or start having a conversation. If they take their headphones off, it also pauses. In trying to work from home, I am needing to work on spreadsheets much more and late at night. These help me focus on my work if my family member is watching TV. They also work when I need to focus on my work and don't want to hear my family member's loud music. My family member loves these so I plan to buy another pair for myself.

Even big ears such as mine I would say the only thing I did not like was the length of the charge cord it was literally like 2 inches long leaving you to have to leave your headpones next to the wall even a 3' cord would have been a little more beneficial I must add that using usb-c was a wise choice as many companies are refusing to let go of the micro USB which in my opinion has been long surpassed good job sony love the product

To me the music sounds even better than being at a concert. It's all there the bass guitar and drums sound awesome. I love to hear the symbols to and the highs sound just as good as the bass. To talk to someone all you have to do is speak and the music will kick off and you can hear plain as day and when your finished talking they kick right back on. I looked for about two months off and on, reading reviews all over the net and kept coming back to these and I finally pulled the trigger and bought them. I'm very happy I got these and not something else. I'm not into writing reviews but I looked for so long before I made up my mind that I hope this helps someone that is doing the same.

Noise canceling On/Off, 1 device or 2, with audio or without. Phone call and video chat quality is good on my end. No one has complained about my audio quality, so I guess that is good. It is just this ANNOYING static.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connecting Phone and Computer has issues When connecting a Phone and Computer at the same time, the apps set the Computer as default music and video player, so when trying to see Youtube or other music app on the phone it doesnt work unless you disconnect the Computer, I think you can fix that setting an option (Device by default) in the Device Currently Being Connected section, Hope you will fix that soon

I love it but I’m returning it even though I got $278 vs $350. Was excited till got stress on every situation. Lost on the menu like google vs simple Apple menu. Maybe it’s not eye candy or attractive Sony app. 360 app not sure if it’s free I don’t want to have hard time canceling. Not sure if I can wire connect to my old music gadget, movies with my 65 x900h , piano, PS4 pro, or this just for music exclusively. My PS4 platinum is 7.1 surround sound with music, movies, gaming, mode. Now preordered 3D tempest ps5 headset. I hope Sony will put an advanced info about their product cause I end digging info some place else and no answer found not even from reviews. Definitely not for me if it’s not universal use but a must buy for outdoor phone walking people mostly. I’m the problem because I just want product that I unboxed and ready to go like my 65inc x900h tv no calibration or ps5 will be easy to use. I just wasted my day doing research on where else can I use this product other than music or noise canceling or pairing two gadgets. The comfort, amazing sound, excellent noise cancelling, plus the added features such as automatic pause when you take the headphones off, speak to chat, and multiple device pairing are excellent! And the call quality is actually very good! (Much better than what I’ve experienced with friends calling me using the XM3s). Well worth the money. You will not regret buying a pair.

The headphones randomly turn off by themselves and in general, there are too many sounds and notifications associated with these headphones... just play music. Sony overloads the consumer with glorified technological features which are difficult and unnecessary to use in the real world (Speak-to-chat..analyzing your ear shape...Atmospheric Pressure Optimizing.. the list goes on). The touch pad on the outside of the headphones barely works and isn’t that accurate. Maybe I have a defective unit but there is an annoying rattle in the left driver when playing bass dominate music and the sound quality is definitely not $500+ worthy. 1 star goes to the noise cancelling ability… I guess.

They're lightweight and comfortable and the battery life and quality are both outstanding. I loveeee them, 10/10 would recommend. They're good looking too, not bulky looking, they have a very clean, classy look to them. I wired them up to the headphone jack of my wireless xbox controller and had no trouble with them then. They come in a slick looking carrying case with space for the headphones and cord and charger/adapter for planes. I can not overstate how much I really love these headphones. The noise cancelling is pretty amazing to me. Makes focusing on studying muchhhh easier for me since I'm very sensitive to sound and noise distraction.

They are also extremely comfortable to wear.. They have a cushioned band and the earpieces swivel meaning the instantly self adjust to your head shape instead of having a one size fits all, stiff fit. These have very soft earpads, don't squish my ears and are so light weight, I forget I'm wearing them! These headphones were very easy to connect via the Sony headphones connect app, and the dashboard for controlling them is remarkably easy to navigate. There are so many in app options including an equalizer, the option of mapping your ears for better sound delivery and even adjusts sound quality to your actions like sitting or walking. The noise canceling ability of the Sony 1000XM4s is nothing short of perfection. I cannot hear people taking to me that are literally standing a mere 2 feet away. Sound quality is absolutely remarkable! The bass is nice, you can hear every instrument and voices are in the forefront, they sound like your at a live concert! I like that they pause your music when the headphones are removed! The sound quality in regards to calls is exquisite, crystal clear with no static or drop out; you couldn't ask for anything better! These last 30 hours on one single charge which is perfect for long shifts at work and for me in general since ai tend to forget to charge things. In addition to that, these are fast charging: it takes about 10 or 15 minutes to get around 5 more hours of battery! These have everything I would ask for if I designed my own pair of headphones; I am so impressed! If you are even considering purchasing these, don't waste another second and do it!

Fast forward the same pair wouldn't hold a charge. Still under warranty I reported the issue and Sony replaced them. **Shocker*** I enrolled in the 360 Audio and I really felt the pitches and bass from the new headphones. Great Quality, awesome product. No one wants to spend $300plus on headphones but worth it.

When first putting them on, I was not sure what to expect, but I was blown away by the sound quality. I closed my eyes and really felt as though I was at a live concert. The sound, rather than just hearing it directly in my ears, it was coming from the sides of me and in back of me. It was like being at a live show. I was so absorbed in the sound, that I completely lost track of time. I have tried many different headphones and usually feel discomfort after a few minutes. These are lightweight and I use them for hours at a time. I love the ease in which they connect to my Wi-Fi and the app. The app gives you complete control, including an EQ. I highly recommend these headphones if you are looking for the utmost in sound quality, and if you want to experience the sound like you are there live. These are the best I have ever had. You will be totally mesmerized by the quality of the headphones themselves, and you will be taken away by the sound. I promise you will love them!

That being said - I connect mine to two devices simultaneously. The transfer across the devices is not good. There is a lot of disturbance/stutter even if the "Sound Quality Mode" is set appropriately.

It only happens with the right ear of headphones and starts making fluttering noises that were significantly louder in comparison to the left ear.

My bose QC-35ll headphones don't stutter when connected to it so it's a codec problem with the headphones. This is a known problem online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, but the mic performance falls short I just purchased these hoping they would not only be great headphones, but great for phone calls as well.  The noise canceling feature for me is very good, and better than that of my Apple AirPod Pros, which are decent.  The sound quality is quite similar, but I did notice the ability to get louder with these than the AirPod Pros.  However, when I called my sister to try out both headsets to compare performance, these Sony headphones were not good. I sounded clear and crisp to her, but they let in so much of the ambient background noise that it was very loud and distracting to her.  In comparison, my AirPod Pros let in very little, so that there was no distraction and no issue for her. Those also made my voice sound as crisp and clear as these.  What surprised me the most was when I put my iPhone Xs Max on speakerphone, the built-in mic on the phone filtered out just as much as the AirPod Pros, which was again WAAY more than these Sony headphones.  That was a very pleasant surprise for my phone's speakerphone, but unfortunately a big disappointment for these Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones.  To be clear, the call was made directly through my iPhone, no other apps involved, so nothing else can be blamed but the headphones themselves.  I do enjoy the app and many features of the headphones: having the speak-to-chat option, being able to connect to 2 devices at once, pausing when the headphones are taken off, being able to silence everything and hear the ambient noise by merely putting my hand over the right earphone. Plus the voice of the assistant is very pleasant. They also seem quite comfortable to wear so far. There's a little pressure on the top of my head (I have a larger than average head), but the cups are wide enough that they side around my ears and cause no pressure or discomfort there. If it weren't for the mic issue on calls, these would be incredible headphones! Unfortunately the mic issue is just too BIG to overlook. One of my main reasons for purchasing these was to have great headphones with a great mic. I need these for work calls and videoconferencing most of the work day. I can't have headphones that don't have a good mic on them. Sony, how could you make such a great product, but drop the ball on the call mic? I will be returning these.

It started off great, but during the first month thing got progressively worse. The headphones sounds scratchy and gobbled every time they are used. I got these for christmas back in 2020. early on these were wonderful, the sound quality is amazing, the touch controls were convenient, and the setup was simple and effective, HOWEVER there are some software features these NEED if i am to reccomend these to anyone. Speak to chat will turn on randomly even if i have the feature turned off in the app. The amount of times im watching content or listening to music only to have it stop because of this "feature" that i have TURNED OFF is infuriating. They also NEED to let us choose what touch controls WE WANT. I only personally care for the volume control and skip track features but there are multiple additional controls that i dont want to use. The extra controls would be nice IF they were optional but instead it's all or nothing. I would love to reccomend these to everyone but these issues make me hate using these things. Even just google searching the speak to chat issue brings up tons of forum posts and threads of people with the EXACT SAME ISSUES.

I think I will be returning these, which bums me out. Guess it's back to my AirPods and wired headset for the PC.

These headphones broke only after 4 months of use - the connection between the hinge and the right earcup broke and now the headphones are dangling when I put them on. Of course with the pretty much useless manufacturer warranty, I'm out of luck and I either need to repair this or replace them. I'm really not happy about this.

The second they break, I'm buying the XM4 without further research or hesitation. These and my iPad pro are my two tech products I can't live without in life these days. The quality of build is great, the battery life, I can't believe how long they run, even in my woodshop where the noise cancelling is a difficult task (and performed well). The audio quality is pristine. The things I hope they've improved upon? Pairing is a pain in the but to achieve (but rock solid once set), it should be easier to transition between devices (phone, ipad, computer). Sometimes voice pickup during calls (the microphone outgoing) is a bit touchy and sometimes it works well.

These earbuds are great and they actually stay in my ears better than my previous earbuds. The only thing is I have small ears and they start to hurt after a while. So it's a good thing I don't need to use them for long periods of time. Besides that, I love these. The noise cancellation feature works great. They're great quality and phone calls and music sound awesome through them. I've tried many earbuds, including airpods and these are way high up on the list of good quality earbuds with features that actually work.

I tried them out with my husband with calling him, I can hear him perfectly and he can hear me perfectly as well, which is hard to come by with ear buds because usually it sounds like they are far away. My favorite feature is the ability to use Alexa! It's so nice to ask her questions or anything when your hands are full.

Compared to their previous versions, this one seems to be a good contender in the ANC wireless headsets in the market. 1st thing you’ll see is the size. It is small. They addressed the concerns of the size of the case from the last generation. Finally a more pocketable size. Next thing you’ll notice is the size of the headset itself. Made to be curved into your ear. The memory foam tips worked well to fit and keep it from sliding out. The only minor issue was the fit in the whole. If you have very small ear, you may have issues getting the whole headset in to stay comfy in your ear for extended periods. The ANC (Active Noise Canceling) did a good job of lowering the outside noise. Transparency mode will activate from just talking. Didn’t need to tap or go on your phone to activate it. The app was very easy to use. Allowing me to adjust settings between signal quality or connection strength quality, update headphones, setting up spacial audio, and activating its DSEE processing to elevate sound quality. Audio is very detailed and spacious. Bass is deep, but not overwhelming. You can use these all day. Whether inside or walking in the rain. The headphones is water resistant too. These headphones make a wonderful companion to every music lover out there.

At first I wasn’t sure how well I was going to like them because most earbuds hurt my ears or just don’t fit right and end up not staying in my ears but these were different. These are the most comfortable earbuds ever. They come with three different size ear pieces in small, medium and large so you can pick a size that fits and feels right for you and they actually stay in place. They pair easily with any device such as phone, laptop, desktop, bluetooth radio and more. The sound is fabulous, clear and easy to control from the earbuds or via voice commands using Alexa, Google or other voice assistants. They hold a charge all day and easily charge using Qi technology. I have an iPhone and these earbuds pair easily for me to listen to my music, watch movies and more while on the go. I also pair them with my car for hands free driving. I use them for meetings in teams for work and more. With the dual microphones my voice is as clear to others on the call as theirs is to me. There are so many features I could go on and on but I’ll just wrap it up by saying these earbuds are just simply amazing. I definitely recommend them, they would make great gift for Christmas or Birthday too.

I am married to someone who does not like to listen to music, so having earbuds is a great compromise. I also move all around the house, so earbuds make it so the music moves with me. The Sony WH-1000XM4 earbuds make my life so much easier!!! I have an iPhone and setting up the Bluetooth was easy-peasy. It required no mental work and took less than ten min to sync (including downloading the app). Sound quality is great. I have to applaud the noise cancelling feature. My husband was speaking to me while unknowingly realizing I had my buds in. When I popped them out, he was shocked I couldn’t hear a thing he had said (and so was I!) these will come in handy for travel and gym so I can stay focused on myself and not what’s going on around me. They hold a great charge and I absolutely love that I can carry the super handy case with me to charge them some additional time.

The app can be a little tricky at first (to adjust balance, etc. to your preference), but after doing a little research, it was easy to navigate. There are also assistance on the website (and other videos around the web) to help. They are very comfortable, especially for long periods (at least three hours in one sitting for me). They don't make my ears feel hot or sweaty. They sound great for music and for use during phone calls.

They’re the perfect size and I love how I can use an app that can help me decide which custom size is for my ears to make listening with these headphones very comfortable. The headphones are actually magnetic when you put them both back to back they do attract to each other. I love that when you have them in you can just swipe the left of your phone and it will change from noise canceling to ambient mode vice versa. It’s very convenient to have an app that can turn on and off your headphones as well as you can see what percentage each your phone is as well as the case. When it comes down to charging it does not take a long time to charge to 100%. Unable to work without distractions and unable to listen to my podcast with a great base as well as very clear quality ear phones.

But then my wife got me these after listening to me complain about having to wear wired headphones and earmuffs while mowing on our acreage. I can't say enough good things about these headphones. This is my first pair of noise canceling headphones and they take the roar of my 27hp zero turn mower to a dull hum. It's unbelievable! I found them very easy to pair with a variety of devices (phone, TV, laptop) and the setup was very intuitive. The multi-purpose button is awesome and makes them customizable for whatever your intended usage might be. The ability to override the noise cancelling by holding your right hand over your ear creates a temporary passthrough to hear ambient noise is really handy when my wife is hollering and trying to get my attention. The last feature is the battery life. It's incredible. The instructions list it at 30 hours and I've been able to get a little longer than that at times. The charging time is very rapid as well. I'm a big fan of the case for storage as I have small children in my house that break stuff all the time. It makes traveling with these Sony headphones a breeze also. Guys, you need these headphones!

I have some 200ish dollar Sony headphones that I thought were great and are wireless and noise canceling. I got them about 4 years ago. When I put these on, I thought wow are these comfortable. Then I turned them on and the noise cancelling kicked in and it was like the world just stopped. I was so confused because I’ve never experienced such good noise cancelling I thought some Erie calm just came over my house! It is that amazing plus some. I’ll go into some of the features: 1. The noise cancelling as I mentioned is simply amazing. You can still hear people talking, though it is muffled, but any fans or background noise fades to NOTHING. I have no kids so I thought my house was already quiet but this gives me quiet time to the next level! 2. The wireless feature is super easy to use and connect to your phone. My husband prefers cords so he loves that you can connect an audio cord. 3. There is an app to use with the headphones to control features and audio settings. It is very easy and fast to download. 4. You can turn on/off two sound settings. One is where the music stops when you start talking. That is very cool and works well. It sort of amplifies your voice and it is sorta fun to listen to yourself talk. Lol. The only thing is sometimes it thinks you’re done before you are and will start music again. You can change the sensitivity for that though and it syncs with your voice. The second feature is that the music will stop when you remove the headphones and start again at the exact spot when you put them back on. This works perfect and is so wonderful. 5. There are touch controls on the side of the headphone. These work great and I’ve had no issues. 6. The fit is perfect and they are so comfortable. Plenty of cushioning on the headband part and over the ears. My head doesn’t get sore. Also with my old headphones my whole head sort of feels sore after a while and I don’t know if it is the fit or how heavy they are, but I haven’t had that issue with these. 7. The sound!!! My goodness these are the best sounding audio I’ve ever experienced. My Husband says the only thing better he has heard is with those crazy expensive display headphones you can try sometimes at the store. There is some immersive 3D or 4D audio thing it lets you sample at the startup of the app and it’s crazy. An experience in itself! Overall these are my favorite thing I own. Mind blowing audio and features and I will treasure these for a long long time.

I couldn't hear the dishwasher, Air conditioner, busy intersection, or someone talking a few feet away. The sound quality of the headphones is phenomenal. The difference that the 360 reality audio makes is remarkable. Audiobooks sound great and music sounds amazing. Even movies and shows sound better with these on. With the noise-canceling and high-quality sound, movies can be very immersive. They are really lightweight and comfortable. The earpieces tilt and swivel in every direction, so you get a great fit that is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They could easily be used to meditate in a noisy environment. The battery will last 30 hours of music playback and you can get 5 hours of playtime with a 10-minute quick charge. I like the Hand-free calling and voice assistant integration, but the touch controls on the side of the headphones took me a little practice to get used to. Pairing is painless and my wife and I can easily swap who's using them with what devices without any trouble. Really impressed with these headphones.

There is a few other features on the headset that I thought was pretty good as well. The multi device support is a pretty cool feature to have. If you travel, there is an airplane adapter that hooks in through a headphone jack.

Sound is amazing, very warm and solid sounding. I tested these out and I couldn't even hear my son yelling for me in the other room. Such a cool feature the sound will pause when you take the head phones off! Also nice they auto turn off if you leave them off your head for awhile so the battery wont drain down. Super thrilled with these and better than I imagined.

But they suffer from a common failure which leads to an extremely high-pitched and hearing-damaging squealing sound issuing unexpectedly from one side or the other. A quick search online shows this failure was not uncommon on the previous version as well. That being said, if you disable the feature, the headphones remain usable and are otherwise of good quality.

I've put close to 1000 Hours on them without even a Hiccup. They are hands down the best headphones out and would buy them 10 times over. The only thing I would recommend to sony us adding some more padding to the from ear inserts, I had to take mine off after about 600 hours and upgrade them to the aftermarket ones with thicker memory foam. Other than that they are amazing.

It's not just that the noise-canceling capability is phenomenal (it is), it's also that the sound quality is fantastic. When I tried them out at home, I was stunned with the sudden silence they provided before listening to music. When I tried them on an airline flight, they not only provided magnificent sound with the engine noise gone (not just reduced) but also helped create a relaxing environment for the trip. The right ear has touch controls; just swipe a finger up/down for volume and forward/back for next or previous song. Cover the ear to quickly deactivate noise-canceling to hear announcements or conversations whenever needed. These headphones are simple, easy, and intuitive, and they're everything you would expect from Sony.

I loved how they were comfortable and sounded until recently when they randomly started screeching this loud high pitch noise into my right ear! Honestly, I am very disappointed with this product quality given the high price tag. One thing is for them to break down, and another is to potentially damage someone's hearing. I will never recommend these to anyone and discourage anyone from buying them. You can find similar experiences on Reddit which means that this isn't an isolated event.

Sound cancelation wise, they are more than excellent. So if you only listen to music, podcast, videos, etc, then they aren’t terrible (if we ignore the price tag). But if you will be using them for zoom calls, ft, or any activity that would require using the microphone, I wouldn’t recommend. I will say, they are elegant. I returned them and in the process I found out that Sonys customer service exceptional.

Crackling popping and over a second delay is a common issue with these headphones when watching movies it is impossible not to break these headphones in half. I want a refund or an actually working product but Sony makes it impossible to find help. It is 2022 and my AirPods are better. My broken beats are better. Waste of 500!!

These are truly noise canceling and can actually listen to podcasts. He doesn’t have to turn the headphones all the way up to hear like on normal headphones. The battery life is outstanding. He’s been using them on and off for a week and hasn’t recharged them yet. I’m so happy with them. They are lightweight and stay on his head well. They come with a great case to keep them from getting smashed or bent in the work truck. I am beyond ecstatic that he found something that truly works. they actually muffle out sound so much that you can hear yourself breathing with the different options. It’s crazy. Sony has done it again with a perfect product.

The sound quality and response at low and high frequencies is beyond anything I have experienced in headphones prior. The application provides excellent curated noise cancelling, based on the environment I am in. If you enable location you can set different levels of noise cancelling based on where you are (office/home/park/coffee shop). The separation of sound allows you to experience the music the way it was recorded.The touch controls are very responsive. I love cupping the earpiece to activate the outside microphone for conversation. the music pauses automatically and I can clearly hear who is speaking and my response. I can also initiate this by talking. The battery life is extensive. I have used them for several work days (8am to 5pm) without charging. The headphones integrate with Alexa/google assistant seamlessly through my smartphone, allowing me to add all that functionality. phone calls are clear and everyone says they can hear me well.The ear cups are comfortable for extended wear and do a great job of sealing to my head, which provides wonderful noise cancelling and an immersive sound experience. My Vinyl collection sounds amazing. My TV sounds amazing.My Mp3 player - the same. being able to connect to two bluetooth sources at once is awesome. I can be connected to my home stereo and my Android phone simultaneously. This allows me to listen to my music and take calls without changing parings. They have thought of everything in these headphones. The only negatives if any are the included charging wire is short and the carrying case zipper appears fragile. It is also very light weight and comfortable. With just a flick of a finger you can skip or raise the volume. Nothing I mean nothing comes close to these headphones a must have for everyone. The noise cancelling feature works great and it's nice to be able to switch to ambient noise if you want. The microphones work great when making a call. Anyone I have spoken with says it's crystal clear. Battery life is also excellent. Sony has always made great headphones and these are no different. Great quality and function. The only negative I have is the length of the charging cord. It's maybe 6" long. That's not long enough. I don't know what they were thinking. It's a USB-C so it wouldn't cost them much to make it at least a couple of feet long. Not a huge deal but something I noticed. Overall I am very pleased with these and would highly recommend.

The head cushion is so comfy , important to me love when things are comfy and quality. Five microphones for background noice cancellations. Love. The Sony app is easy and cool to use. Highly recommend the Sony App. I love that I don’t have to take off the headphones to speak with someone. I can just place my hand on the right ear cup while the music is playing, it will turn the music and noise cancellation off. I can immediately talk with someone. The speak to chat function is vital in my world. With family and pets. I just start talking while wearing the headphones, and it pauses the music and noise cancellation. I speak and then back to sound heaven. I love the understated design in matte black, the touch pad on the side cool and so easy to operate. Case is nice too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bose alternative If you are like me, you're deciding between these 1000XM4's or the Bose 700, and after using both, I can definitely see the appeal in these. Battery life and ANC are stellar in these sets of headphones, and audio quality is great as well! Design is rather subdued, but in a good way. These are comfortable headphones with ample padding without getting too heavy, and a case that makes it smaller to pack than the Bose 700. I wish these Sonys had better audio pickup for phone calls, as it doesn't quite stack up to the 700s. What it does bring to the table is great overall package, specs to beat, and a good price to match. As for the comparisons between this or the Bose 700, you really can't go wrong with either, but it should end up being a design choice and whether or not call pickup quality is value high on your list.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound quality These are amazing headphones. First, they are super comfortable. I like that the padding is soft on my ears and they aren't at all hot or sweaty. The band is comfortable as well, fitting snugly but not so tight that it would hurt an average sized head. I had no problem setting up the app, and when I paired the bluetooth with my computer it was quick and easy. Of course, the sound is what's important, and I find these to have clear, crisp sound and the noise cancelling feature works perfectly. Another plus is that you can just use them as regular wired headphones if you just want to plug them into something that doesn't have bluetooth. I love that, because sometimes I'm using an older device that needs "regular" headphones I feel like these are great quality, work well and have the versatility to use with bluetooth or with a wire. I recommend them.

I do however do not feel too much of a difference when it is optimized. The quality of the box it comes in isn't as great though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular Sound I wear headphones every day to listen to podcasts while I walk the dog, do yard work, clean up the house, etc. These are by far the most impressive pair I’ve ever owned. They are lightweight and comfortable … sit firmly on head without being too tight on the ears. Controls are easy to use once you get the hang of them. The buttonless touch control panel is cool but easy to bump accidentally until you figure it out. Sound is superior … lifelike and not echoey at all. And the noise canceling design is top notch. I literally could not hear my husband talking to me a few feet away. My only negative isn’t really a big deal. The charging cord is VERY short … but I just used another one I already had. If you want to invest in a pair of high-end headphones, put these on the top of your list.

I have a set of Sennheiser PXC550 headphones that were starting to have charging issues and was excited to see if these live up to their hype. They absolutely do. I find the noise cancelling and lighter weight to be an upgrade from the PXC 550s. There is an app that gives you access to more features than you would ever need. The default settings were sufficient, but I tweaked mine as I prefer a brighter high end. These provide a good value. If you listen to headphones that at at this price point or even $100 more expensive you won't find anything better.

I am very happy to be able to test these headphones, they are very good, they have high quality audio, noise suspension according to atmospheric pressure and with a 30-hour battery, hands-free calls and it also has a case to protect them. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome headphones I was truly impressed with Sony's new flagship WH-100XM4 headphones. They have many cool features and sound amazing. To get the most out of your headphones, you have to download the Sony Headphones Connect app either from the Google Play Store or the Apple store depending on whether you're using an Android phone or an iPhone. You then have to turn on the headphones in order to pair them to your phone via Bluetooth. For me pairing was easy and I had to download the latest firmware update. Next, the app walks you through set up. One really cool feature that I liked is 360 Reality Audio. This is an immersive mode that is compatible with a few of the more premium music apps such as Deezer and Tidal, and allows you to hear the music as its meant to be heard without any artifacts. The app gives you a comparison of sound bites from both the normal audio and 360 Reality audio and the difference is like night and day. With 360 Reality Audio, it feels like you're in a concert hall listening to a performance. Also, the app takes a picture of your ears in order to customize the headphones to your ear shape. However, even without 360 Reality Audio, the sound quality of the headphones is really good with strong bass and easily discernible highs and lows. Another cool feature is the ambient sound toggle. When you cup your hand over the right earpiece, the music stops and you can hear ambient sound. Take your hand away, and the music resumes playing. There are just two buttons on the left earpiece, the power button and the custom button. To turn your headphones on and off, you have to hold the power button for several seconds. The custom button can be used to toggle ambient sound and noise cancelling, and invoke Google Assistant and Alexa. You have to use the custom modes one at a time, though, and they are available in the Headphones Connect app. The build quality of the headphones is top notch. The material feels premium through and through. They are very lightweight and are comfortable to wear for a long time thanks to the extremely soft and plush headband and earcups. The headphones also come in a hard zippered carrying case with an exterior mesh pocket, which is a great plus as you can put the headphones in the case and then toss the case in your backpack without worrying about damaging them. The accessories that come in the box are a USB-C charging cable, a 3.5 mm splitter and an airplane adapter. Overall, the Sony WH-1000XM4 are fantastic headphones. If you care about sound quality and premium materials, then they are definitely for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Average Headphones I bought this headphones last week and I am no expert in audio... I just wanted to use them for video editing, watching netflix, and listening to music. The headphones kept cutting off when connected to my macbook pro and iphone (same issue for both devices), and what's worse is that when connected to 2 devices simultaneously, they prioritize the laptop over the phone.. I was frustrated trying to playback a video on my phone and I can't hear a thing. I had to turn off and turn on my headphones. An agent told me that I need to do a factory reset for my laptop to resolve the drop in the audio... ridiculous! I had the $60 sony on ear headphones and they worked like butter.

What I found out is that this head set is very sensitive to movement and it will turn on or off if I cough, moving my head a bit quickly. If all you need is to walk around and listen to music, then it is OK. However, after about half an hour or so, I found the tight headset is very uncomfortable. I have now been using my old Panasonic wired headset which is much comfortable than this. The noise cancellation works and music listening is fine. However, if you want to wear it for running or dancing, then look for something else.

My son recommended me this headset because one can hear speak when using social connectivity software like Slack, MS Teams, Skype, etc... Since my computer runs linux, I was a bit apprehensive about how well this would work. Although it is a bit tricky to configure properly. On the other hand, the dual connection feature is really helpful to configure the headset from the mobile app so that the 2nd connection from linux' bluetooth works properly. For example, conference calls w/ Slack require turning off "Speak to Chat" and leaving on "Ambient Sound Control" to hear oneself in the headset. I was most pleasantly surprised that the headset's touchpad for music control (stop, forward, backward) works with music software on Linux -- e.g., Spotify! If only there were support for 360 reality audio on linux; this would be the perfect headset. The noise cancelling capability of this headset is fantastic. While listening to music at a moderate volume, I couldn't hear a person talking to me less than 3 feet away! I had to put my right hand to the headset to listen to ambient sounds to hear this person talk!

Granted, I haven't owned a pair of noise cancelling headphone or earbuds before, but I was pretty impressed with what I experienced. I have had a couple of issues with the connectivity to my tablet however. Sometimes, the headphones are out of sync with the Youtube video I'm watching (i.e., the lip movement doesn't match the sound from the headphones). This has happened multiple times. On one occasion, the headphone froze and wouldn't connect to the my phone or tablet. Thankfully, this was an isolated incident, and I've not experienced it since. Overall, I would recommend these headphones (though they are a little pricey).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, until it self-switches between devices Amazing sound, setup etc. However, random headset touches can trigger a swap with the other device (e.g. ipad app OR itunes!). When the TV looses the connection, the only way to reconnect is to Power Off and On again the device. Last night I fought this thing for 2.5 hrs. Do not touch it and it might work.. Now, I went on forums and found similar complaints. Worrisome is also the app to blame...Should have bought the competitor? But I also heard of glitches among its software and connection of soundbars and home entertainment!

I would absolutely love to be a tester of products for Sony. They produce one of the absolute best Smart Phones but largely Ignored because of Apple. I know I can change that and it does start with the PS5. Sony products prove time and time again their superiority over others, but “fan boys” feel a sense of being faithful. Let’s change that!

It doesn't save and restore last settings I used for Active noise cancellation, even when I use Sony he4adphones app. For example if I set ANC to level 12 (or even turn ANC off completely) and then turn headphones off, when I turn them back on it kicks full blown 0 level setting ANC from the start and doesn't restore last used settings even when I have these settings in Sony headphone app. For 350 USD headphones it must save last used settings, it just must! Now the good, sound is just amazing, any type of music sound great. ANC also is very good, but it is so annoying that custom ANC settings cannot be saved.

It should be simple to enable me to toggle between two devices on the app. The headphones will allow me to toggle from a laptop to my iphone by double tapping on the right earpiece. But I can't easily switch back and forth any other way. Sorry, that's just lazy engineering!

I am unable to leverage the manufacturer's warranty because the sony customer support portal is "unavailable due to technical difficulties". Beware buying these headphones, if you don't want to risk losing hundreds of $$ on a defective product, backed by poor customer service. Regarding the quality of these headphones, they have a worse form factor than the Bose QC35-II, which has a roomier earcup and physical buttons. However, the sony has better software & more reliable bluetooth. The ideal headphone would have the form factor of Bose, and the software of Sony

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous headphones The WM-1000XM4 is replacing my Nokia headset. The unit is very comfortable to wear for long periods. Controls are easy to manipulate. The Headphones Connect app (iOS & Android) customizes the listening experience. It can take into account ambient background noise, switching to chat mode simply by speaking, and even switching listening modes depending on where you are located! All these features can be turned off. The noise canceling feature is one of the best I’ve experienced. You still get that “air pressure” feeling, but it is not as prevalent as many other units. The ability to connect to 2 devices is a great plus! I usually have my phone with me so I use the app to easily switch between my iPhone and laptop. I haven’t used the headset making calls so not sure how I sound on the phone. Overall a fabulous purchase. Warning to those purchasing on Amazon, I purchased a new unit but what I received was a returned unit. It was like-new so didn’t have any real issues, but not happy with Amazon.

These headphones as soft and comfortable to wear for long periods. The sound is absolutely amazing and pulls you into it. I was very surprised by how comfortable the headphones rested over my ears and how I didn't feel the band at all. The sound quality is very high with having great Bluetooth codec support. The active noise cancelling is next level with a huge difference being noticed between my Airpod Pros and this product. The length of battery is acceptable and the fast charge feature is true to advertisement and can be a life saver. These headphones have replaced my previous product I used and have yet to discover a major issue.

First of all, I was very surprised at how comfortable they are and how well they adjust to my head. They are lightweight and not bulky at all! They were easy to connect to my phone by using the Sony Headphones App which is easy to navigate and use, and has many features like giving you the ability to control the background sounds. I also love the buttonless control panel on the side. The sound quality is amazing and the noise cancelation works great! I had them on while the rest of my family was watching TV and I could not hear anything but the podcast I was listening to. This is so great because before I would have to turn the volume up very high on my phone to drown out the TV noise and it would hurt my ears! I also have been using them while I work from home. It is so great not to hear my dog bark or the grass being cut while I am trying to concentrate on my work. I also love the carrying case which will be great for using them when I travel on an airplane. This is a great product from Sony and I highly recommend these headphones. My husband is already wanting a pair!

The headphones are wireless noise canceling stereo headset. They include 360 Reality Audio and Headphones connect from Sony. The headphones include music playback for up to 30 hours with NC (noise cancelling) on and 38 hours with NC off. You only have to charge the headset for 10 min to get up to 5 hours of play time. The headset includes hands- free calling with HD voice and voice assist function. It has google assistant and alexa built-in. The headphones are so easy to use. They are very lightweight. I had not problem downloading the Sony apps. I recommend them to anyone that wants a GREAT pair of headphones.

My husband is an audiophile and has several pairs of expensive headphones and he says these are comparable to his other high end ones. They are very comfortable to wear, even for my husband who has a large head. They offer bluetooth or direct connectivity with a mini jack. Everything you need comes in the box - a protective case, USB cable for recharging and an audio cable. They pair easily. There is an app you can download, but you can also use them without the app. The app does offer additional controls for volume, pause, play and advance. In our experience, they charge quickly and the charge lasts us several days using them about an hour a day. If you value high quality sound, we highly recommend these headphones.

I really needed something wireless and simple to wear when working out, doing yard work and generally listening to music around the house and have had these for a few weeks now. Not having noise blocking headphones/earbuds drove me absolutely crazy while trying to concentrate or just not having to hear noises around me (especially outside). While these headphones are not total noise cancelling, they are great to keep most noise out; the noise I can hear is very muffled and the sound goes up to a nice level and does not hurt my ears. They are very comfortable as well around my head. Instructions are very straight forward and the headphones are very user friendly. Easy to charge and have a decent charging life. I am very happy with these.

Firstly they look great, slim line, comfortable and fit perfectly, not big and bulky like some out there. They are adjustable but I haven’t needed to change them. They are easy to fold and fit into the compact case that comes with them. They are very easy to setup, on my laptop, all I had to do was pair them and all done. On my phone I downloaded the app and control everything from there. Switching between both devices is easy too. The sound quality is amazing! Perfect for me to work from home while the rest of the family is around. I love the speak to chat feature, with one word I can automatically pause my music to have a conversation. The other features I love are the adaptive sound control that senses what you are doing and adjusts the sound accordingly, the sensor which can detect if you are wearing the headphones and adjusts to help save the battery, the battery life is great at 30 hours. It is so easy to let in ambient sound, adjust volume and make calls just by tapping the panel Definitely the best headphone I have owned in a very long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing sound quality Hands down the best pair of head phones I've every had. this is my 2nd pair of Sony noise canceling head phones, with the 1st being bought a number of years ago. let me be the first to say the advancements made are mind blowing. These head phones have so many sweet features I haven't even been able to use them all. I love how easy they were to pair with my phone, I downloaded the app and off I went . The app shows me the battery life and I'm a week in and still haven't had to recharge with nightly use ( I wear in bed while the wife is sleeping ) the have adaptive sound control , 30 hour battery life- with this quick charge technology ( basically u can charge for 10 min to get 5 more hours !!! ) and touch sensor to control! love it The features I haven't played with yet are speak to chat and making calls but plan to soon . over all I'm extremally pleased and my even buy my wife a pair for Christmas

Although I have owned a number of over the ear headphones from a number of different brands, these wireless noise-cancelling headphones from Sony are the absolute best! The noise cancelling function (this is my first pair of headphones with that feature) is no gimmick - it really works! Now I can focus on the great sound rather than external noise, and in a house with young children, there is a lot of distracting noise! The noise cancelling feature, as with many of the features, is adaptive, so it takes into account your surroundings which is really cool. I was blown away by how light these headphones are too! That they are lightweight combined with incredibly soft ear cushions makes for a really comfortable pair of headphones that can be worn for extended periods without ear or other discomfort. The battery life is phenomenal and the app works fantastically. You can even take a picture of your ears to customize the audio features with some of the high quality music streaming services (which you get a nice free trial). It really does make a difference. The case is also convenient and slim as well and is firm enough on the outside that it protects the headphones. Overall, this is an awesome product that is lightweight, super comfortable, portable with great battery life, and of course, offers excellent sound with noticeable noise cancellation. I can't thank Sony enough!

I got these about a week ago, and they come in a hard formed travel case that holds the charging cord and airplane adapter inside. The set up was super easy. Download the app, connect the Bluetooth, and power on. Placed them on my head. Super comfortable and lightweight. Then you notice the dead silence. What?!? Noise canceling is right. Just shuts out the world around you. So then I used the free trial code for the 360 music. Got that set up. Went back to the headphones app to analyze my ears for the perfect sound quality. Again, easy. Just took a photo of each ear and it somehow adjusts the sound to my ear shape/ size. Pretty cool. Go back to the 360 music app I downloaded and picked some music. I’ve got to say, these are super impressive headphones. The sound is perfection. It just envelopes your head in all around sound. The sound level, pause/play, skip, & go back are all controlled by either sliding your finger on the right ear piece or tapping it. So technologically cool. There’s mics built into both ear piece, and there’s a feature you can turn on that will pause the music automatically when you speak. Music also pauses when you take them off of your head, and it resumes as soon as you put them back on. There’s a ‘custom’ button on the left ear piece that you can set up. I have mine set to Alexa. So I have Alexa at a push of a button. You can take calls through them to. I did have my friend put them in for me to see if I could hear what he was listening to, and totally quiet from the outside. So awesome. I’ve totally been converted to a headphone user. Completely in love with these. A must have for any music lover.

I was so excited to try these noise cancelling that were also wireless. Very easy to connect to devices and no muffled sounds like others have. Offers crystal clear sound. My only issue was they seem to fall out of my ears easy(no matter the size of replaced rubber ear grips)

First off, it is hard for me to find a pair of ear buds that actually stay in my ears and comfortably at that. These do both! The noise canceling function is amazing and I'm impressed! They were easy to pair to my phone and set up. Good quality phone calls and pretty good bass abs sound quality. I can't think of anything I don't like about these. Highly recommend!

They have 3 different size ear pieces so that you can find what fits you best. They do cause some pain when left in too long. I work as a gig worker so when I am shopping orders, I put them in my ears and listen to music and I am able to talk on the phone as needed too. I would recommend these for sure!

I was able to leave them in for hours at a time. The sound of these are amazing.. I love that they are noise cancelling. It helps when I’m studying.

I love how the look and they take about an hour to charge but last at least 24 hours. Sony has outdone themselves with these babies. They fit nicely in my ear and the noise cancelling is perfection. They are obviously bluetooth and very easy to pair with my phone. The sound quality is amazing and I love the case they came in. Since I got these I have used them daily and I love them. My son had begged for them on many occasions. Everyone asks what earbuds these are and want to know where I got them. These are the best quality earbuds I have ever used.

I can wear it and it listens to commands allows me to pause and have a conversation or listen to announcements. It’s quick and smart. I leave it on sense engine and it quickly adapts to the areas I am in to adjust the sound and allows background noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply stellar While I've owned my fair share of Bluetooth headphones, none of them have had ANC and, honestly, I wasn't sure if I really needed a noise cancelling feature at all in my headphones. I most often listen to music while at home where it's relatively quiet, anyway. But I was excited anyway to finally try out the noise cancelling capabilities of these Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, and I couldn't be more impressed. Even when I'm just in my bedroom listening to music, these headphones dull the sound of my noisy air purifier and bring the music into crystal-clear focus. These are great sounding headphones, but it's the ANC and attention to design and detail that really make for an impressive listening experience. With other Bluetooth headphones I've owned, even the ones that had good sound quality, I've always felt like I need to turn up my music really loud in order to properly "feel" it, which was probably terrible for my hearing health. But even at lower volumes, these Sony headphones sound clear and vibrant. The 360 Reality audio capability is really awesome as well. I set it up with my Tidal HiFi subscription and played one of my favorite albums I've heard a hundred times, yet I swear I was hearing details and depth in the music that I had never heard before. And what's even better is that these headphones have all these great features while keeping them super easy to use and super comfortable to wear. I usually wear glasses, and typically glasses plus headphones equals massive headache after more than a few minutes of use, but these Sony headphones put no pressure on my glasses. The headband doesn't dig into the top of my head either, like other headphones often do on me. This level of comfort, in combination with long battery life, means that I can use these for many hours with zero worries, just pure focus on the music. What more could you want?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, lacks control First off let me say I love my Sony WH-1000XM4! I love the sound, the Noise Cancelling they provide and how loud they get but smooth the sound is without hurting my ears. But their biggest downfall is the control function on their earmuffs. The touch/tapping functions are just not accurate or great. I tend to listen when I'm in bed and about to fall asleep but then they annoyingly skip or do something I didn't want them to do. Honestly, this is my biggest gripe and annoyance with these headphones, I still recommend them cause their sound is amazing but they REALLY need to develop a better way to handle the controls. I suggest actual buttons. I have a pair of Jabra Elite Active 75t & I LOVE their controls. Their sound doesn't co.e close to these Sony headphones but they've mastered the controls.

These headphones worked as intended and I feel did a great job cancelling noise and worked great for music and online meetings for work which was my biggest use. However after two months they broke placing them on my head. No, I don't have a big head and I wasn't rough with them. They appear to have a weak spot in them. maybe they fixed this with the newer version. As you can see by the photo I had probably only put them on my head about 30 times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work amazing - but one ear is getting staticy I bought them in Feb 2022 - they worked great all up until the last 2 trips I took. I only use them when I fly - as its the only time I need over the ear headphones. So total I probably used them around 30 times at an average of 2.5 hrs of use.. so VERY minimal use. and one of the ears has a lot of static when playing sound. it started off minimal but now its getting to the point where they are hard to use. hoping the warranty actually works out - since I got 1 month left. but we will see. updates to come when I find out.

I have taken very good care of my headphones and there was no reason for this to happen. Very disappointed and I’m out of headphones. I don’t know what to do.

These have stat indoors at my work computer since I got them; they have been very well taken care of. I called support, and they would not replace them because the failure happened after one year. Do not expect these headphones to last!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very very very bad My problems started after 3-4 months of use : 1. Touch pad wouldn't react in various cases. 2. The automatic turn-off wouldn't work at all after month of December, so no more relying on you my headset that when I put it back on would have any battery left. 3. The feature pause and talk will also work randomly, so you wouldn't know why you talk to someone speak normally or scream to that person. 4. THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE: the headset will randomly turn off while listening music and there's no touch whatsoever to the button on or pad, to do so. Imagine yourself listening to some relax music while having acupuncture sessions and the headset just turns-off. You have no more noise canceling, no more relaxing music and a lot o frustration because you can't move( having that acupuncture session) to turn it back on. And no, it's not the battery issue because you'd have 50% or even 90% left when the headset it's turned back on. I have contacted sony after a few incidents like that. They opened a case. Made me do a factory reset and told me get back if the issue persist. GOOD LUCK. When contacted back the got agent says no more warranty... so they gained time for warranty expiring, telling me to get back. They didn't solve the problem while the device still was under the warranty. Honestly, never occurred to my mind that Sony screw you in this way. SONY lost my confidence forever.

I turn off my BT from my laptop and try to connect the headphones through both setting and the Sony app. Can’t get it to connect at all. I’ve tried even connecting them with the wire and they still won’t connect. Very annoying.

The only downside is that (1) the charging cable that came with it is too short, and (2) I can’t get it to turn on while it’s charging! I bought a longer charging cable, thinking that I could use the headphones while they were charging, but it turned out that I can’t! Bummer! Other than that, I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broken after 2 months- customer service unhelpful These headphones have great sound quality and features BUT I bought this product in mid-October, and on Christmas Eve, a piece fell out of them, causing one of the ears to simply hang by the wire. This would be fine, but the customer support will not replace them or give me a refund. Headphones bought for $200 should not break in that short of a time (only 2 months). They made the claim that they were damaged due to my own negligence/ I twisted them in the wrong direction, but no such thing occurred. The manufacturing on this product is very poor, and if you buy these, expect them to fall apart within 3 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last a solid 2-3 years I used this product 8 hours every for 5 days out of the week for about 2-3 years. It has worked well up to this point though has lost some functionalities as time went on. The first function to go was the auto-pause when removing the headphones, which really important, but now I lost the main reason I got these headphones which is the noise canceling effect. Now when I use the Noise-Canceling functionality after a few minutes of use it will emit a high pitch screech. Sadly it's past the warranty so I can't get them fixed. They still work well without the Noise-Canceling but I will need to replace them since I use them for work to block out loud noises so I don't have to blast the audio to hear over the machines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from high tinnitus noise in left ear I bought this on february 2021 and it start to make high tinnitus noise in left ear. I tried to solve the problem different ways, cleaning it completely, no ear wax. It's not normal that Sony can't sell product who last no more than three years with normal use.
