For a dumb adapter costing this much, you would think they put together something without such a basic fault.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good BUT you need something called a DC coupler which is a "false battery" (it makes your camera think its' a batter whereas it just gets powersupply from external source). The one in the image is a Sony branded one...but it can be had much cheaper online (off brand). The sony branded one is good though.
