Very disappointed
About the Bravia 8 II, there is a constant occurring clicking noise coming from the TV when it is off. It happens very often, almost 3-4 times per hour and each time there is at least 3 clicks. We have the TV installed in our bedroom and it’s loud enough that it wakes us up. Sony support says it’s a known issue, coming from the wifi card as it tries to update apps (which I know is not true!) and it should stop after about a week. Well we tried two TVs so far, returned the first one to costco and this is the second one, had it for about a month and the clicking still happens. I wonder why Sony would want to destroy its reputation by releasing a defective line of TVs to the market. Very disappointing and I hope this gets escalated to management. We will be returning this one as well.

Bravia 8 ii
The 55” Bravia 8 ii was intended to replace an old 43” plasma tv. I ended up returning the Bravia.
The picture on the Bravia 8 ii is superior…end of story. If I were paid to come up with a problem with the picture the only thing that I could come up with is that the blacks can at times be too black. The satin finish on the screen is awesome and reduces reflections. I am used to less real estate and lower resolution, so the Bravia picture was a huge upgrade.
The Bravia attempted to output PS5 with a 4k cable but was glitching out. The Bravia output PS5 flawlessly with an 8k HDMI cable and it looked fantastic. Bravia played nice with Roku device using 8k HDMI cable.
The audio on the Bravia 8 ii is shockingly poor and the reason that I returned the unit. The human voice on the Bravia is so small and “tinny”. It sounds like a bunch of nano-people stuffed in a can. I literally kept thinking about a Fred Flintstone transistor radio from my childhood. Contrasting the small voices, the background noises are loud and thunderous. It leads to a constant volume battle between the parts of the show without sound effects vs the parts of the show with sound effects. Turn the volume up to try to hear the little canny voices…turn the volume down when the sound effects start up and blast you away. The Bravia has excellent audio settings and even a setting for prioritizing voice. But I just could not get the setting right to compensate for the tinny, canny, little voices. The settings to increase voice quality only added to the canniness of the sound. I kind of thought that TV audio was all worked out long ago and I have never had a problem with a TV’s native audio before, so this was really a big surprise to me. Ultimately, I decided that at this price point, I need to be able to actually hear the voices rather than to keep struggling trying to fix something that is not fixable.
For my hands the remote control provided with the Bravia 8 ii is too small physically, too slippery, and the buttons are too flush to the body housing to be easily detectible. I bought a universal remote to try but ended up returning the Bravia before seeing if the 3rd party remote would work on the Bravia.
This TV is probably a good pick for the crowd that likes to augment the audio with sound bars or theater sound systems. You cannot go wrong with the picture for sure. For the crowd that just want a TV to sound like a TV, maybe not such a good pick.

Best picture quality on the Block!
So I'll start off by saying I absolutely love this TV. I had originally purchased a quantum Vizio, but after setting it up and seeing the picture quality I returned it.
I started looking at various LG, and Samsung sets, but after discovering the Bravia 8 II I decided to go with Sony.
Upon setup of the Bravia 8 II, you will notice how heavy it is, this to me shouts good build quality. After getting it set up, I did not connect my surround sound, because some reviews mentioned a particularly weak sound-I would not say the sound quality is bad at all. The technology going on there obviously works because I had to double check my surround sound was not connected. Obviously bass is on the lower end, this is why we surround sound.
Once I did connect my surround sound, I was blown away at the difference in quality between the Vizio I had just returned, and the Sony.
The UI is much better than I expected, and I haven't experienced any lag, or dropped signal issues.
Picture is the best I've seen in a TV so far in life. There are movie scenes where you almost feel like you are in it. Words honestly can't do it justice, you have to see it yourself to fully appreciate the excellence of picture.

Purchased in Nov 2024. Disappointed with the so called 'Google TV' feature. Voice feature could not be made to work, and the choice in Apps represented only one of a dozen that we presently use (with Roku box). If App's could be expanded it was not clear on how it might be done. Also very poor instructions. Do some customer interface training to improve (non engineers or Tech's).

Gorgeous TV!
Gorgeous TV! It’s super slim, easy to setup, the picture is crisp and vibrant, the sound is clear and concise. While watching something, it’s like I’m in the movie/TV show. This TV is amazing. We may have to buy more for other rooms in then house. Setup was super simple and it connected to the internet easily. There are a lot of features, such as AirPlay, that we are looking forward to continuing to explore.

Best TV I’ve ever had.
Holy crap… this tv is AMAZING. I have an 85” of another brand from 2022 and this thing blows it out of the water, even though only 3 years have passed. The colors are amazing, the picture quality is crisp - highly recommend esp if you play videogames. Its a google tv, I use chromecast on my other TV and the connection is so wonky, so I’m glad its built in. Great A++++ tv! I got this in exchange for a review and its the best item I’ve ever gotten. Just wish it was bigger ??

HOLY COW THIS TV IS AMAZING! The picture quality is unbelievable and it’s soooo smart. I had no issues connecting it what so ever. You do have to have a Google account though and Download an app. The sounds are pleasant and sound quality is good! It’s a very thin tv which I like.

Simply lovely
I’ve had the Sony BRAVIA 8 II QD-OLED 4K for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly blown away. The colors are incredibly vibrant, and everything looks sharp and clear. Watching movies on this feels like a theater experience at home.
It’s also a beautiful TV. The design is super sleek and minimal, and it fits perfectly in my bedroom. Setup was easy. The sound is surprisingly clear and well-balanced for a built-in system—I don’t think I will need a sound bar after all.
Side note - watching F1 on this was amazing!

A high quality TV for the best viewing experience
I received the Sony Bravia 8 II QD-OLED 4K HDR Google TV for free from Influenster and Sony in exchange for my honest review.
So my family buys flat screens that range from $100 to almost a $1000, never anything this expensive. I must say the difference in quality and experience is massive. The view and sound is a definite upgrade from what we are used to and it's quite impressive to see. We replaced a decade plus old flat screen with the Bravia 8 II and not only was it lighter to lift to attach to our wall mount, the screen is so clear and the colors pop just right, it's like a movie experience. Setting the TV is quite easy, follow the prompts to connect to the internet, set up your cable and connect to your Google account along with other apps you may use. Also the remote has shortcut buttons to easily connect to streaming apps and the TV has many ports on it's side. Not only is it light but it's sleek, the TV is thin all around, reminds me of a huge tablet except it's not a touchscreen but can you imagine if it was. If you have the means, buy this TV it's worth it's price and then some. You will notice the difference between a more affordable low cost flat screen versus this Sony version, it's a massive difference that we can't wait for movie nights and trying out the PS5 on here. Massive thank you to Sony, fine job here.

Stunning visual quality - bright room approved!
This TV has amazing color and picture quality. The blacks are super deep, and the brights are really bright. When you turn off the lights, the TV really shines.
What’s really impressive is that even with direct sunlight coming through my windows and hitting the screen, everything still looks super clear—you can see everything perfectly.
The sound isn’t the best, but that’s an easy fix with a sound bar.
The 55-inch isn’t quite big enough to replace my living room TV, but it’s the perfect size for my bedroom. Overall, I’m really happy with the quality of this TV!

Wonderful !!!!!
The first time in my life I unboxed such an expensive TV. The opening did not speak English as usual but spoke Spanish. But the speakers are very good and the screen is sharp. It's wonderful.

Colors are so vibrant!
I’ve been using the Sony Bravia 55-inch for a while now, and I can confidently say it’s a solid upgrade if you care about both picture quality and smart functionality. One of the standout features for me is the picture clarity—the colors are vibrant, the blacks are deep, and motion handling is smooth, especially during fast-paced scenes or sports. The XR Cognitive Processor really does a great job at making images look lifelike, especially when streaming in 4K.
The Google TV interface is clean and easy to use. It syncs well with my Google account, and having voice control with Google Assistant built in is super convenient—especially when I’m too lazy to type out long search terms.
Sound-wise, the built-in speakers are decent for casual watching, but I eventually paired it with a soundbar to really elevate the experience, especially for movie nights.
It’s also pretty lightweight for a 55” TV, which made wall mounting straightforward. It looks sleek and modern in my space without feeling bulky.
One small thing to note: if you’re sensitive to glare, the screen does reflect a bit in brighter rooms, so some strategic placement or curtains can help.
Overall, I’m really happy with this TV. It hits a great balance between high-end features and price. Definitely a worthy addition if you’re upgrading your home entertainment setup.
