Superb colour accuracy out of the box
Bought the 85” Sony Bravia 7 a couple of weeks ago. I compared it in the shop for a whole afternoon to a Hisense u8q and the Sony just demolished it. (Also compared against TCL QM7) The Sony always kept the highlights and had accurate and balanced colour. The Sony also processed the image in a way that seemed to make the image seem more ‘real’ and more 3D. The U8Q could get eye bleedingly bright but it would blow out the highlights a lot even in its cinema mode. The Sony was just better. I actually intended to get the U8Q but decided on the Sony. My Dad got the Samsung QN90F which is an excellent screen with unmatched anti glare coating. But the Sony hands down beats it for colour accuracy across a range of content. If you want it to just look right no matter the content Sony just wins. I was also amazed to see in the YouTube FOMO review that side by side the Bravia 7 beat the superb Bravia 9 for all the actual movie and TV content. The Bravia 9 party piece was HDR demos mastered for 3000nits but no actual HDR movies are mastered at that high a brightness.

Energy saving
Loving it so far
Really worth getting if your wanting a tv that has a high energy saving functions
Using it in low light conditions and still find the high energy saving bright
An 85 that only used 2.8 kw of power over two weeks of consistent ish use

Big and bright!
This is a great TV with an excellent picture. You’ll need quite a large room to ensure that it doesn’t dominate too much when switched off, and that you can sit at a suitable distance. The sound is good without a soundbar, though I normally use an Apple TV and a pair of HomePods. We found it too bright in bright scenes on the default settings, but a little experimenting with settings corrected this.

Worst TV purchase I have made in more than 20 yea

Very good picture quality
Have had this set for a couple of weeks. Really good picture. Yes it is a little reflective but better than our 10 year old 65 in this regard. Seems massive but already getting use to it. Non regrets not going for the Bravia 9.

Terrible Service!
I took delivery of my K85XR70 on 12/21 and had multiple issues immediately, including brightness settings and audio delays when viewing Blue-ray and 4K movies (using a Sony Ultra High Blu-ray player). I previously owned a 75” Bravia, purchased in 2015 along with a Denon AVR 1200, and had none of the these issues. (Since the new Bravia had a e/ARC port I decided to purchase a new Denon1800 to see if that would resolve my issues- it didn’t!) Past experiences with Sony Service personnel were very helpful so I phoned and received a Case # on 12/22/24. Unfortunately, the level of service was subpar and one of the Agents actually disconnected me after I questioned their advice and never phoned me back. I called again and received another Case # on 12/30/24 regarding the reoccurring audio latency with my 4K videos and was told it was due to a “buffering issue with my router”! When I responded that that it did not make sense I was disconnected once again! No return calls were made to me and I am now considering returning this TV to the store and purchasing a Samsung unit in its stead. Very disappointed!

Limitation on apps
Picture quality is great, however certain apps will not upload (e.g. Sky News, ITV-X) due to preset restrictions that cannot be overridden. This is very frustrating as it limits the viewing of a wider range of programs.
