The Barricade Broadband VPN Router (SMCBR14VPN) is the ideal networking solution for both the home and business user. The EZ 3-click installation wizard is a improved way to install your Barricade. In 3 simple clicks you will be connected to the Internet. This platform independent multi-function router combines in a 4-port 10/100Mbps dual speed switch, and a robust Stateful Inspection firewall into one convenient device. The Barricade supports various protocols such as TCP/IP and NetBeui, while also providing support for VPN connections with PPTP, L2TP, and IPSec passthrough. The SMCBR14VPN’s Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall provides a high level of security against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. The SPI firewall analyzes each individual data packet as it passes through the SMCBR14VPN and ensures that only authorized packets can access the local network. It also provides Access Control based on a pre-defined scheduled time, IP address filtering, and Mac Address Filtering. To protect your family, parents can also block certain websites by entering either a URL address or just a keyword of the website. In addition, SMCBR14VPN provides hacker attack prevention and logging functionalities. When hackers attempt to enter your network, you can even be alerted by email!
