LOVE the tape, HATE the plastic waste!
After scouring the internet for longer than I’m willing to admit, I came to the ultimate source in search of a solution to this problem - the plastic dispenser isn’t broken, so why do we have to purchase brand new ones with every single roll?!
The reason I like these smaller roles is because they easily fit into a kitchen drawer for quick access. I feel like a horrible human purchasing a brand new dispenser every time I run out of tape. This is bad for the environment and wasteful all-around (your cost, my cost, the cost of wasted natural resources…). Please help us all be better and provide just the rolls for purchase!

Perfect packaging

3M doesn't care about the environment
I purchased a roll of this tape with the dispenser assuming I could refill it and prevent another piece of plastic from the landfill. When I looked to purchase refills I found that on Amazon I could get a 6-pack with the dispensers for $13.88 but it will cost me $16.73 for just the 6-pack of tape. Walmart doesn't even carry the refills. Shame on you 3M for pricing that shows how much you really care about the environment. Pretty convenient that with over 300 reviews you state that you don't have enough reviews to post "Cons:.

I use the product primary to reinforce and repair flying model aircraft. It is the strongest product I have found. Life is not worth living without it.

Love This Tape
This is my go to tape when shipping orders, that being said I hate how it's so loud compared to other tapes from the same brand . It's loud enough that I can't do any packaging at night because I'm worried it'll disturb someone . The tape itself is great!, it sticks well and doesn't budge

Worst tape ever
I recently purchased a role of the "heavyduty" shipping tape. In trying to use it in the disenser, it's bring nothing but a problem. The tape is so thin and cheap that it separates into shreads. It then becomes very difficult to pull all the pieces together and get back to a full width strip of tape. The role is now in the trash and I'll never purchase this product again.

Useless Tape!
We bought this tape a couple of days ago at HD along with their packing boxes and woke up this morning to all of our boxes popped open and the tape flapping in the wind! Looked on the HD website to see if anyone else was having or had had this problem and low and behold, yes! Plus some ridiculous responses from the "Vendor" about how they would like to replace the tape when these people have already had to purchase a replacement because "people are packing boxes to move and need it IMMEDIATELY". How about 3M do something about the quality of this so called "heavy duty packing/shipping" tape. I think I would even second guess sticking down my photos with it!!

REALLY???? No instructions
Have many boxes to make and pack...I specifically paid more for the rolls with dispensers so it would be easy. The easy tab was not connected to the tape.I've just direct 20 minutes trying to thread and another 20 looking for directions and nothing...NOT happy at all...should have just bought the cheaper product

Might be great if you can ever get to it!
Just bought a six pack of this product and there are three problems before I ever use it: The fact that I sought out this web site to complain about this product, which I rarely do about anything, is an indication of my frustration with it,
1) Instructions for routing the tape through the dispenser are incomprehensible: "Pull tape through tabs" You can't pull tape "through" tabs - there is no "through". There is only under or over. Horrible diagram included does not make this any better. Once you figure that out, you are on your own on how to route tape across cutting bar.
2) You can't get the tape off the roll without damaging the roll, the dispenser, or both. There is a white bar to indicate where the tape begins on the roll, only it's not at the beginning, its buried somewhere in the first turn of tape on the roll. You have to use a boxcutter or similar to cut carefully cut into the roll and unwind the first turn, losing some amount of product just to create a starting point.
3) When you attempt to remove the cardboard the instructions are printed on, it tears off and leaves a section under the cutting bar which must be removed to use the tape. This is so difficult to remove it requires needle nose pliers to pull out, and it's so strong that the cutting bar is actually damaged at the four points where it must be removed.
Normally I love 3M products. My house, garage and workshop are full of 3M products. I trust 3M to deliver a quality product. The tape on this product is probably wonderful, but that doesn't matter if you can't access or use it due to poor packaging and incomprehensible instructions.

The tape is okay. The dispenser is flimsy and unless you re very careful, the tape will spring back onto thee roll, requiring minutes to get it free again.

Great tape, help save the environment . . .
I love this tape but can not find the replacement tape for the dispenser. There used to be a box of 6 without the dispenser. Trying to save the environment by not buying the dispenser when I don't need one, just want the tape.

Poor instructions on dispense
I may have wasted my money because there are no instructions how to install the replacement roll in the cheap orange dispenser. I called the number suggested to another customer who had the same problem and you hung up on me.

Scotch Shipping tape dispenser roller
With projects for grandchildren, shipping, etc. we go through this tape quickly. This is the 2nd time we have bought the tape (different vendors) and the cardboard inside roll is distorted so you can not pull the tape through the dispenser unless you pull the red plastic sides away from the roll of tape. Causes a lot of frustration!

Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape/Disper
Had 6 rolls of this tape forgotten in a warm 2nd floor closet for at least 3 yrs. Got laid off, started cleaning out rooms, found the tape, started making Covid19 masks to ship out to people all over the US. Used up these rolls on Sm & Med USPS boxes, and shipping labels, tape never failed me. Strong and stuck like glue on everything Ive used so far. The found rolls were perfectly fine in the warm closet for many years. I will definitely buy more.

Strong and good grip
I bought the 6 pack not wanting to run out during move from Texas to Florida ised a U-haul box they pick up and store, when it was delivered 2 weeks later not one box had come undone tape held everything together. Moved again in Fla. bought more tape every box stayed taped. Worth the money my only complaint is the despenser very hard to use but the tape is great. Can't go wrong and don't understand the negative reviews unless they bought the wrong tape.

Excellent Packing Tape
I have a hard time with most types of packing tape - the tape always peels unevenly off of the roll, making a mess and forcing me to waste some of it. Not so with this one from 3M! Not only is it heavy duty and super easy to tear, but each layer of tape stays whole, making it so much easier to use. I'm going to use this brand from now on.

One of the best packaging tapes Ive ever used. Its easy to use. I love that it comes with the cutter attached to the product. You dont have to use a lot of it for it to work. Just 1 strip on each box opening is enough.

Great for making a castle! :-
I received this product free from 3M. We decided to use this tape to make a cardboard castle. Since it was heavy duty, we thought it would hold up better than normal tape against the hustle and bustle of a busy castle. So far, the castle is still in one piece,and the tape is still securely in place. The tape does feel slightly thicker than regular packaging tape. Overall, we are pleased with this product.

Versatile!
In just a short time, I have used my Scotch brand Shippihg Tape with Dispenser for so many things. I filled a box with old photos and taped it shut, I sealed and mailed a box of AZ goodies to my brother and my daughter used it to create a poster board of her artwork.

3M gave me a free sample of this product. I usually buy this brand of tape because I feel it's the one that works best. This one is not the exception. It sticks really well and won't budge. I used it to seal some boxes I keep stored in the garage. It kept them tightly closed. Will keep buying this tape as soon as I run out.

Seriously strong but frustrating to start peeling
3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate, and this stuff is really strong it held without problem on several boxes of books, and holds well to the cardboard. I even used it to temporarily fix a broken cell phone screen.
The only problem with this tape is getting the tape off the roll, it tends to tear off in a thin strip rather than across the entire face of the roll. I had several other people try it to rule my method or arthritis as the cause of the problem, and all had the same issue. Once i got the roll started the dispenser/cutter worked flawlessly and cut well. After cutting a strip I would fold over the last 1/4 inch of tape on itself to make a flap I could use to avoid the issue with starting the tape. I would love to see 3M/Scotch add a similar mechanism for the new roll, a simple fold or piece of cardboard could make this tape much easier to use.

I received this product at no cost for my honest review. I was happy to see that it is made in the USA! We have lots of family that all live out of state so we mail lots of packages. I usually have to wrap the tape around and around the package but was surprised to find that this tape is strong and it really is sealed with one strip. I felt confident in mailing a large envelope and a box with just one strip over the opening. I did have some trouble getting the tape started off the roll and it did split and tear up until this little protective start strip they have on the tape. After that I had no problems.

I received a 3M - Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape Dispenser for free. I like this design because it is very ergonomic. It fits easily in my hand and is very easy to maneuver. It’s a simple design with convenient raised ridges on the sides for better grip. The tape rolls and dispenses easily and smoothly and tears easily with the metal guide. The small blades are not sharp to the touch but are effective at tearing the tape. I’m very satisfied with the simple, yet effective design.

Most Reliable Packaging Tape Out There
I have tried overall 6 different brands of Packaging Tape for my Shipping Supplies of Boxes & re-inforcing bubble mailers. I personally feel this tape performed the BEST out of ALL the other brands. Easy to 'Start off' the roll, simple application to the boxes & holds up to everything (I have yet to have a buyer tell me that a box broke it's seal or the tape gave out/ ripped). Overall, EXCELLENT product, great value, too (you use less of it--you don't have to go over the same spot 2 to 3 times).

One serious problem!
It wraps and seals well. If that were my only criterion, I'd give it five stars.
However, it is virtually impossible to re-thread the tape. I just gave up: I rip off what I need and apply it manually. If only instructions were available (sigh!).
That being the case, it's completely useless to me.

Great Packing Tape
The Scotch heavy duty tape is very nice and sturdy. The tape itself has a pretty good thickness to it and it delivers the "stickiness" to properly tape down a shipping box. The dispenser, on the other hand, needs some getting used to. The tape can be a little finicky to pull from the dispenser. But once you get the right angle, the tape rolls like a dream! What I really appreciate is the tape cutter at the end of the dispenser. The blade/cutter makes cutting a piece of tape 10x easier than having to find a pair of scissors. Overall, I am very happy with the the functionality of the product and the convenience it offers with the blade/cutter at the tip of the tape dispenser. I received a sample of this product from 3M but the opinions are of my own.

Strong, I use to make repairs and ship boxes
I have used the Scotch brand packaging tape dispenser and tape for years and I love it. It is easy to use, you can do it one handed, and once they are taped they don't come open until you cut them open.
I have used the tape to repair things like a broken center pole on my Christmas tree, that was several years ago and it is still holding.
I also ship on Ebay and use this tape to close the boxes and tape on the labels. I tape over the address section of the labels so they do not smear if they get wet plus it closes those boxes tightly and they do not come open during mailing.
In a pinch, I have also cut small strips and used it to tape wrapping paper on Christmas presents.
I can use the dispenser one handed leaving my other hand free to hold the package or item being taped in place.
I would recommend this tape and dispenser to anyone requiring the use of a packaging tape.

Husband Loves it!
I received this tape as a free product sample from 3M. I wasn't expecting much because tape is just tape. My husband ships products often, and he tried this out. He ran to me to rave about it!! He was thrilled to not have to re-stick the tape down by hand after a few minutes. It stuck exactly where he put it and had a strong seal.

Very Durable
I recently had to send a phone back for repairs and used this tape to make sure the box was sealed good. This tape was very easy to get started, pull out to dispense the tape and tear pieces off. I was able to do it very easy and fast. I also love that the tape even feels thicker and durable. I was able to send our phone back with piece of mind knowing it was secure with this tape. I'm very pleased with it and will buy more when i need it.

The ever great Mylar Tape
I have been using Mylar tape for over 15 years. It has always been the strongest and best packaging tape I've ever used. It is almost impossible to break. The grip of this product has been amazing the way it sticks to almost any surface. I know that one of the largest shipping companies around uses this product to seal packages that come open to help them reach their destination successfully.

If only you could open it without scissors!
There is a silver tape which you would think would lift up to immediately start the roll but not so. You have to cut through the tape and lose some of the first part of the roll due to that. What is the point of having a starter section when it doesn't?

Tape was packaged wrong.
I ordered the six pack of the tape in the dispensers. First, I have never figured out (using for years) how to easily get that little piece of cardboard out that gets stuck in the way of the blade. But the tape I just received, the tape is actually installed backwards! Yes, it was easy to take it off and turn it around, but really - who put it together!

Scotch High Preformance Pakaging Tape and Dispens
I love this tape and dispenser. I never have a problem with the tape rolling back in on the roll. The dispenser is easy to use. It helps to keep the tape straight so I can tape my boxes together for shipping. I know that when I use this tape I can be sure that the package I'm sending will not come open.

Use for more than packaging
This tape can be used for more than packaging. One really good feature is that the end never gets lost. If you've ever had tape come off the end in pieces or strips you know what I mean. You don't have that problem with this tape

Strong is the key!
3M sent me a roll of this tough stuff to test and I'm now a big fan. It holds fast on every box I've tried no matter the texture or the load. Once it's stuck, it's staying or else you'll damage the paper it's stuck to. The dispenser works perfectly just like the other packing tape dispensers I've used on Scotch products. Perfect for heavy moving boxes!

Unusable
As many times as I tried, I could not figure out how to make the tape usable. It would not unpeel from the roll. I looked at the instructions. They only tell you what everybody knows already - how to use it once you can get to it. But actually figuring out how to unpeel it? Nothing in the instructions. Nothing on line. So thanks for nothing.

Yeah, Tape that's worth using
Have used this tape for many years at work. Have tried the off-brands of similar type.Your definately works better. Cuts easier, but out sticks by far.

Tape Changed - Doesn't Stick Well Anymore
My company has been using this tape exclusively for years - tens of thousands of packages shipped - and loved the small size, ease of use and quality of what this tape USED to be. Over the past few months, the tape changed - it now says "40 times stronger" and feels very different (thinner and slicker), which would be fine except that when the "new" tape is used on standard kraft shipping boxes it doesn't stay stuck!!! Really 3M? What the heck good is shipping tape that comes untaped on its own from shipping boxes??? Extremely disappointed in the changes to this product and that we are going to have to switch to another type of tape.

I received a free sample of the Heavy Duty Shipping tape with Dispenser from 3M to try. I used the sample and was impressed with its performance and ease of use. The dispenser was handy and made it easy to seal packages. It's small size enabled me to put the tape in my purse to bring to the Post Office. I would buy this product, and I highly recommend it.

Excellent Heavy Duty Tape!
I received this product free from 3M. I'm sure glad I did because I just recently moved to a new house. I used a lot of this tape! The tape dispenser is easy to use, the tape is heavy duty. I had some cheaper tape that needed several strips of tape to hold the box shut. The heavy duty tape held up well during transporting. I can't say enough positive things about this tape!

I love this tape. I find my packages are secure and I don't have to worry about it opening during shipping. I like that it includes the dispenser as well. The size is perfect for an occasional user like myself. I like that it can be stored in a drawer or desk. The tape quality is great. It's on the thicker side without being too hard to tear.

Stick to 3M tape
I received this product for an unbiased review. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to use one single piece of tape to be able to fully secure a box. (Most tape requires several passes. The cutter easily allows cleanly trim a piece to your desired length. When you find a quality item like this, you should stick to it. :-)

Moving with no tape problems
I just moved 1000 miles -- an entire household plus a CPA office. We used this product to pack both the home and the office and we had NO TAPE FAILURES. I was very pleased with the ease of use ad the "stickines" of the tape.

I received this pack tape as a sample. I had some boxes to ship off and used this to seal the boxes and was an ease to use. The built in dispenser and cutter worked good. The cutting edge has many little teeth that allows for easy clean tears from the roll. This tape is great. I have never had any issue with 3M shipping or packing tape holding up to the rigors of shipping or moving. Having moved 10+ times in 17 years I understand the value in a high quality pack tape. Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape is the best. Even if it is a little more expensive than other tapes on the market the cost is easily justifiable.

Great Sticking Power

Best Tape
I have used Scotch packaging tape for years. Have tried others, but none compare to the quality of Scotch. I also use it to tape the labels on the packages, and to tape on labels on household things, such as names of cereals cut off the boxes and taped onto cereal containers, lists of things contained in boxes, Christmas decorations, etc.

Super Sticky and Durable
I got this tape to close up boxes of items that I am moving into the basement for storage. It is super sticky and very durable. It is not flimsy and one strip of tape accurately seals the box.

Terrible tape
I have bought Scotch shipping tape for years. However, the latest roll I purchased and tried to use today is just terrible. It is SO sticky, it sticks hard to itself. I cannot get a full width piece to even get it started to use on the dispenser. It breaks off in little pieces and is next to impossible to pry off the roll. I'm so annoyed with the this roll.

Horrible dispenser!
The tape itself is great, but the dispenser is impossible to use. I have tried every possible way, and it either won't cut the tape, or the tape goes back and I have to find the start of it again. Really really bad design!

This is crazy!! I just want to tape a box and use the dispenser I paid for and I cant get it to thread through the slot. No diagrams or anything on the dispenser either. It shouldn't be that difficult, what's the problem?

Perfect Packing Tape
I used this packing tape on some flat rate boxes being send to my family overseas 4000 miles away. The tape was easy to apply with the provided dispenser and worked well with no problem on my shipment. We tend to pack as much as possible in the flat rate boxes and often I need to use several strips of tape just to hold the flaps of the carton down so I can seal the center where the flaps meet. This tape worked out perfectly for this!

IMPOSSIBLE!
The tape itself is the same ol', same ol' we all know and love. But ... the "new" dispenser is useless. And I do mean USELESS! I fished my old, broken one out of the trash so I could tape a box up for storage. I'm going to try to saw some "teeth" into the new dispenser. Wish me luck.

I have tried other tapes, store brand, etc, but Scotch brand is the only one that holds the best and it doesn't take a bunch to use.

Tape is Strong - Dispenser - So - So
I have been using Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape for many, many years. I have found that the quality and strength of the tape has far surpassed any other packing tape I have used. I pack and ship items on a very regular basis with eBay sales and need something I can rely on. Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape has done just that. I typically use a full size Tape Dispenser Gun for my packing needs. However, 3M sent me a small roll of Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape on a small dispenser for free in exchange for an honest review. The blade on the dispenser is just as good as the blade on my regular packing tape gun. The tape is easily pulled through the tabs and torn off evenly, though it may take a little practice to do it efficiently. I’ve been doing it for years - so it is very easy for me. The cons to me are that a much smaller roll fits on this dispenser over a regular tape gun. If you have a large project, such as moving, you will want a lot more tape and a tape gun would be more efficient. For the person who rarely ships out a package, this works well. The dispenser doesn’t really have a great way to hold the loose end of the tape once it is started. It tends to fall back from the blade and tabs and stick to the roll again. This is not very efficient and quickly becomes wasteful when you try to pull a fresh piece up and can’t get it evenly started. Overall, I highly recommend the tape itself. The dispenser is not of the greatest quality, but would serve its purpose for small projects. I recommend a tape gun for larger packaging projects with the heavy duty tape.

We move too often
My husband and I have been married for almost 38 years and have moved 22 times. I have tried different packing tape sometimes but always go back to a Scotch brand. The dispenser is wonderful, I don't have to ruin my finger nails trying to get scratch off the end piece that always sticks So, I go to the store and get my Scotch brand tape. I also have relatives and friends who live far away, so when I send their birthday or Christmas gifts I really depend on the scotch packaging tape. I have had such ease using Scotch brand tape and tell my relatives and friends about it.

Worst tape ever!
I bought this tape about a week ago and the tape did not have any type of adhesive. The roll basically became undone as soon as you pulled the tape off. On top of that the tape was really expensive. Very dissatisfied with the quality of the product.

The Tape is very thing now; not the way it was in prior years. It also sticks onto itself before you have a chance to actually tape something with - more like fly paper now. I have purchased so many times with no headaches. The Tape is not the same. It has become just a thin packaging tape now.

Not usable this time around!
I have never had a problem with this tape and realize this brand is typically very reliable (and more expensive but it is the best) however I bought this tape recently in a local CVS and there is absolutely no using it. It doesn't stick. I'm thinking they missed a step. I don't know how many are like this but it is completely useless. It's basically trash. Very disappointed.

Tough tape & sturdy dispenser
This tape has strong adhesive power. The blade on the dispenser is sharp and makes cutting very easy , this is extremely helpful when sealing a lot of items in a timely manner. Tape seals seamlessly and stays in place, I feel confident that my packages are secure and nothing will open up during shipping with reasonable conditions considered.

Excellent Packing Tape with Dispenser
This tape is great for sealing up boxes. It is strong and seals really well. The fall back tabs on the dispenser really keep the tape from sealing back on itself, unlike other brands of tape I have used before. When I started the roll, the tape split into smaller strips, but there was a strip across the width of the tape, near the beginning of the roll, that helped you pull up the whole width of the tape. So no getting pieces of tape that are only a centimeter of two in width, or wasting your tape trying to get the full width. That is an excellent feature! The only drawback is that the tape doesn't roll off very easily, and I had to turn the roll on the dispenser with my other hand. In other words, I had to manually unspool the tape before putting it on the package, instead of just pulling the tape out across the package. But other than that, this tape is the best I have ever used. I would give it 4 1/2 stars!

I have NEVER been able to thread this dispenser. No matter how calm I am, no matter how much I try, it won't work! I've used many rolls and I never am able to use it properly. Please! Make a video before I lose my mind!

Strong, clear and easy to use
This is the thickest and strongest-holding shipping tape I have ever used. It is also clear enough to put over shipping barcodes for protection. The packaging is also sturdy and provides the perfect housing for the tape that allows easy tearing. I highly recommend this tape over any other brand for shipping packages.

No Waste & Extra Strong
My husband and I own 3 internet stores and we only used Scotch Brand products. The High Performance Packaging Tape is a no brainer for us. We pack our orders, tape them up, ship and forget it. We use a number of tapes but the packaging tape is used the most. We have NEVER had a problem!! In over 8 years we can honestly say that we have never had a failure of any of the Scotch Brand tapes or a problem during shipping.......and we ship domestic as well as international. Good tape. Dispenser sucks
“Pull tape through tabs”?? The tape falls back onto the roll every time I tape something. I have no idea if I threaded the tape correctly or not. Wasted tons of tape because it sticks to the roll.

Super heavy duty
I typically use Scotch packaging tape, but had not tried the heavy duty. This is very heavy duty. I would trust it for any package that might be heavy that you want to ensure it keep taped shut. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the fact that it was very hard to get the tape started. It tore in multiple places (see photo). One I got it started then it worked great!

assurance my son gets my pkg to AFGHANISTAN
I have been using this tape for 13 yrs for all my son's packages with his deployments from Iraq to Afghanistan. Its the toughness of the adhesive that make me feel confident this tape does it's job.When you are waiting for a piece of home ,you wan to make sure it arrives.I would not use anything else,today I'm running out to buy more for another pkg for my son for the holidays.So,take my advice from a single parent military mom who counts her pennies.It is worth it,it is never a lot to buy and i use it for those precious packages.

This tape is the perfect solution for your packing needs. I was trying to use duct tape to tape up a box to ship and duct tape couldn't stay still. It was falling off like nothing. And I went and bought this tape and till this day it hasn't fallen off. In fact I tried to lift up some times and it's so sticked on to the box that the box paper started to give way and tear. It's the best tape in the market!

Strong tape

And then you provide a little white paper , with the bar code trying to explain how to load the tape. The example pictures are so small you need a mag. glass to read them !

A little goes a long way
I needed to send a package to my daughter away at college ASAP. The only box I had was flimsy, and I was in a hurry as usual. Had High Performance Packaging Tape with Heavy Duty Dispenser on hand.
Went around it both ways to make sure the box would stay together. It did. Very pleased. didnt need much but it worked so well my daughter complained the it was hard to get open. :)

I have moved quite a lot in the last 10 years, due to various circumstances, I ALWAYS use Scotch packing tape, because I learned the hard way, a long time ago that Scotch brand packing tape IS THE BEST, and does it"s job well.

I send my son mothly care packages to his base and go through packing tape faster than anything else because I have to use multiple layer, but not with this tape. Scotch Heavy Duty does the job in one strip! I am impressed with the gauge thickness and hold, very good job Scotch.

We found ourselves needing to move our stuff out of the rental storage unit we rented . It was damaged by a storm and was leaking. We had water soaked boxes and a mess . I received a sample of this tape, I love the handy cutter Attachment. I always have to carry scissors to cut pieces of tape when using it on a package. I used it on my package that was busting at the seems to test the heavy duty part. The tape itself is thick. The stickiness works well. Just make sure to press it down on the box to stick it well. Usually I use too much tape bc i am not sure it would stay stuck. Well I let this sit in a humid room for a weekend before sending it on Monday. It stayed stuck and looked great.

strong tape for securing boxes
We reuse our boxes for recycling and yard scrap collection. We are so happy that 3m let us try this tape. We use the heavy duty tape to secure the boxes shape, It holds the sides together even with the stress of lateral bending and moisture. Great product.

I love Scotch "Packaging Tape." I recommend it to everyone who is moving. In the past when I used the cheaper brands, the tape stuck together or would get tangled up. I wasted half a roll. The last time I moved, a friend brought me some other brand of packaging tape and I apologized and stated I only use Scotch "Packaging Tape." I also use it around the house for items that need repairs.
I also love the Scotch "Painters Tape." It is a wonderful product not only for painting jobs, but for jobs that you need to tape items to other surfaces.

I like how strong this 3M Scotch heavy duty shipping tape with dispenser tape is. It sticks well where i put it. It is very easy to tape up my packages and i can use less because it is so strong. NOT Sticky. Will not stick to regular cardboard.
Based on all of the rave reviews, I must have received a bad batch or something. I got a small box of these 1.5" cores on the plastic dispensers.
I took one small roll (out of the small box of them) with me to a convention, so that I could pack up everything when the show was complete.
When I put it on the first box, I noticed that something was very wrong. It would barely stick to the box. I noticed that it would barely even stick to my fingers. I then tried to seal a couple boxes with it. However, buy the time I got to the next box, it was already coming off of the previous box.
When pulled it off of the roll, it was nearly as sticky on the "adhesive" side as it was on the back.
This was huge mess for me. It was the only roll of tape I had (I only had 6-7 boxes to seal). When I got back, I noticed that the other brand-new rolls were the same.
Very disappointing. :-(

I got this at no charge in exchange for my review. Funny thing is that I already have 3 rolls of Scotch shipping tape in my house! It's what I always use for shipping and every year I use it to pack my Christmas decorations. Best tape ever!! I was able to review the Scott’s heavy duty shipping packaging tape with dispenser in exchange for my honest review. As I taped my boxes it was a great stick to begin with. The tape dispenser helps guide the tape easily across and also cuts the tape easily. It was an easy glide across the box seams and then at the finish. It had a very strong hold from start to finish. The tape sticks well and doesn’t peel off. It made taping boxes go by a lot faster and even when I pushed a lot on the seams that I have taped it did not give way. I love that this tape has a strong hold and was so simple to use.

HEAVY DUTY is an UNDERSTATEMENT
WHOA!! This is some heavy duty tape, I mean HEAVY DUTY. I boxed up a few of my friends daughters dorm items and taped them up with this tape. Well, its move in day, it's crazy and my friend and her daughter both told me a story of one of the boxes I packed and taped going down a flight of stairs and the box never opened! The tape held going down a flight of stairs and contents were shaken but not broken. If this tape can survive dorm move in day, then this tape will out last us all!

I always have a hard time of using packaging tape because it is hard to tear and never sticks well, but this product is so much better and makes using the tape nice and easy. The tape is strong and durable so that you don't have to worry about your packages coming open. I also love that the dispenser makes the tape so easy to use and tear and makes the job easy. This is definitely a product I would recommend for home and for work and it makes shipping easy.

Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape with Dispenser is outstanding! The tape itself is so sturdy that it gives me complete confidence when sending packages in the mail, by courier, or even for storage purposes. I honestly feel better knowing I am using Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape.

3M tape not just for shipping
This tape does wonders, its not just for shipping, since its clear i have also been using it to fix books that the kids have ripped apart or are to rough with. The dispenser makes it nice and easy to rip off a piece of tape without having to find a scissors to complete the job. Have not had any issues with the tape, also if you feel the thickness of the tape you can tell its heavy duty. If you were to compare this to some generic brand there is a remarkable difference. Definitely choose 3M when possible.

The tape is great. I am a teacher and use it a great deal to hang things in my classroom. The dispenser is the worst!!!!!! It gets stuck and or it clings to the roll and I have to find the edge of the tape to start it rolling. Bad Design.

The heavy duty lived up to its name. Had to tape up multiple boxes and was was able to easily secure with no bumps or seem lifting. Other products get bumpy as they are going on or the seems lift which makes you question the hold. Not this product, boxes got knocked around the the tape held up.

I received this as a free sample to test. Holds very secure. Water does not penetrate thru tape. I used when packing my antique china. My only complaint is that the tape adheres to the dispenser and is a little difficult to loosen the tape so you can pull it forward.

It was so easy to get the tape going and it stays put under the tabby things so it doesn't restick to the roll. I used to close a very large container of powdered Gatorade in case it falls down I won't have to worry about the top coming off. Used for two returns and it worked great. I received a free sample of 3M Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape and used this product to seal a package to mail. The tape is wonderful! It dispensed very easily and smoothly. This tape is strong enough to tape cartons of books with just one strip! The adhesive on the tape really holds. The other thing I like about this tape is that it is clear so it can easily be used over labels without fear of covering important shipping information. The amount and length could be a little longer but it’s enough. The tear teeth are sharp and make it easy to get any size piece you need.

Terrible dispenser
It is good tape but the dispenser is terrible! Not worth the headache of trying to use it.

Multiple Uses
I received a free sample of this Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape w/Dispenser. The name is deceiving because I use it for so much more then just packing boxes for shipping. In a week I've used it multiple times from a rip in my window shade to a tear in a binder cover. It's strong and clear so I tend to use it for lots of things around the house.

There isn't a better packing tape out there
I find myself constantly needing to ship items but also just pack things for donation or to store or even for shipping labels I print out and there really is no better tape. I've tried other brands, off brands and they just do not work as well. Scotch heavy duty shipping tape holds well and is simple to apply. So secure too..other tapes come up or don't completely seal but scotch does the job well.

Unclear why heavy duty packaging tape immediately started peeling off every box we packed, requiring layers and layers of it to get it to stay down. Our movers said they see this all the time and think it’s a scam for Scotch to sell more tape - I agree.

Can Not Get The Roll Started
This is great tape but why do is it sold making it very difficult to get the roll started. I bought a pack of 6 recently from Staples and not one roll had a paper tab or something similar to start unpeeling the tape. I've tried fingernails, scissors and a knife and can not get it started.

My favorite tape!

This was bought to make my life easier since I ship so many products for my business. Instead the design is completely flawed and it is impossible to cut the tape. When the tape is cut, the box gets cut with it. Very displeased.

Heavy duty / strong tape for packaging
I found this heavy duty tape great for cardboard box packages because of its strength. Superior hold for cardboard and heavy box materials. Clear tape is see-through which is good to put over address labels too. The easy to dispense holder is a plus as well.

Heavy Duty for those extra heavy boxes.
3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. This is a very handy for making storage boxes hold together. It was always a struggle to keep the boxes of books or heavy sporting goods in good shape for storage when the bottom of most boxes fell apart when picking them up. But this dispenser and Heavy Duty tape keeps all my boxes sturdy for packing away and carting to storage in the garage. Always handy to have around for the tough jobs.

Definitely heavy duty
This tape is super grippy. It is easy to tear from the roll. I used this to reinforce a cardboard box filled with heavy books for shipping. This is definitely universal on any surface. Very easy to handle.

I received this product as a sample for testing. I used this to box up materials for shipping. I had a little difficulty figuring out how to work the dispenser but after I learned the device was very easy to use. The tape itself is very sturdy and sticky. Some of the boxes that I sealed were a little damp from the rain and the tape held excellently. I will definitely buy this product as it met all of the criteria I look for when planning to seal and send packages.

Getting better
Dispensers are getting better . Have used a lot of the High Performance packaging tape. This new Heavy Tape works better it stays in place on the dispenser until you use it again. There is 200'' less inches & is skinnier now.

This Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser is the only packaging tape I use. It has been very secure on polymailers, as well as boxes. I am very happy with how easy it is to use, as well as how easily it tears from the dispenser.

Good sticky tape, and in a convienent size roll. I keep a roll in each of our food trucks. Much better than the cheap stuff at the dollar store. I have used and liked 3M products since I worked in a body shop when I was 18. I am now 68 and I still use and like 3M products.

Much stronger and easy to use
I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M, and the company recently sent me a free sample of Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape. I have used it on several different boxes, one which had a heavy item inside and was shipping via a shipping company. I was very happy with how the tape went onto the package and how heavy the tape felt compared to my normal packaging tape. It was much more sturdy and adhered much better. The dispenser is very easy to use and it allows for a smooth cut when using the tape. Very happy and pleased with this heavy duty tape.

THIS IS THE STRONGEST TAPE EVER
I used this tape to send a package to my sister. I placed it on all the places that there were openings. It held very well, in fact, she said it had to be cut to get it off the box. Nothing inside got damaged. This is definitely the strongest tape I have ever put around a package.

3M recently sent me a free sample of their Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser to evaluate. I frequently send packages to Germany, as my granddaughters live here. I always use Scotch Heavy Duty Packing Tape for my packages. I trust it to keep my boxes sealed tight, even when they get sent to Canada by mistake ( by the post office) and look like they were dropped about a hundred times! It’s easy to use and holds tight. I won’t use anything else!

Works as expected
I mostly use the Heavy Duty Packing Tape to repackage purchases for return shipping. For that purpose it works great. It seals securely and I trust the seal will hold through all the handling of shippers. As long as the tape stays fed through the dispenser, all is good. If the end slips out and the tape sticks back to itself, it is difficult to peel up again in one piece.

Best Packaging Tape for Moving
I've moved around and packed so much throughout my life, I've always used Scotch packaging tape. I insist you have the dispenser as it makes the taping of boxes easier and more efficient. I've never had a problem with the tape tearing. As in the name it is heavy duty and strong. If you go with an off-brand the tape will keep breaking and you never get a clean tear leading to wasted time and frustration. I learned the hard way at first. Now I know to stick to Scotch products. I did receive this product free from 3M, however it's all I prefer and recommend using.

This packaging tape is as strong as is needed. One layer of it seals the seam. I used it on a smaller package I had to mail. And it is crystal clear. The dispenser works well and can be refilled. It could also be used to repair a box.

Caution: do not waste money and shipping security on cheap tape. I’m using a roll of Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape that I received as a sample to review, and highly recommend it. I received the product Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser free from 3M to review. I found that the tape was perfect for packaging up my Christmas gifts for our military son that was over seas. I wanted very strong tape as the package needed to hold up to the hard shipping conditions. My son got his package and it was complete and not damaged. The dispenser was a nice addition as I didn't need to hunt for my scissors. I recommend this tape if your package is going a long ways away.

Outstanding tape for shipping
Having family in another state, I frequently am sending gifts for birthdays, anniversarys, etc. This means boxing up gifts and mailing them. This tape is excellent for sealing boxes. The tape is heavy and seals extremely well. When using UPS, I print my own labels and this tape is perfect for covering that label and still allows them to scan. It is easy to dispense, cut and apply. In fact, one can use the dispenser to affix the tape to the side of the box and pull it over and down onto the other side of the box and quickly cut it using the cutter in the dispenser. It's also great for repairing torn large items like a display poster. I find this tape as an intergal part of my home office not only for shipping but also for many other tasks that require a heavy duty tape.

Defective tubes - customer service did not respond
I have an eBay store and send many packages a day. I've always spent the extra money on Scotch brand tapes because I have felt that they are easier to use and stick well.
However, the last several purchases have had tubes with heavy ridges on the inside that prevent the dispenser from completing a full turn. The ease of use is gone...I've had to remove the dispenser, unstick the tape after each use and cut with scissors. This is not only time consuming but upsetting to have spent the extra money on the dispenser packaging and a premium brand. I must emphasize that this has happened with more than one purchase.
But what makes this particularly annoying is that I DID contact customer service at the email help link on this site a few weeks ago. NO RESPONSE. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I think this is deserving due to the poor quality control and equally poor customer service.

A great heavy duty tape
We areshipping things all the time. My husband and I used this just recently and we like that it sticks well and stays put. It's easy to use and it seems to tear from the edge nice and clean. I've always liked Scotch brand because it is good quality and this is no different. It's a nice heavy duty and crystal clear packing tape.

Pure nightmare! totally failed to hold.
We purchased this product a month ago and used it to seal boxes we were using to move. Everything looked great, until we went to move. The tape kept falling off of the boxes and the boxes were opening while being transported to and from the truck. It was a nightmare! We can't believe that what used to be the "best go to product in the business" fell apart as much as it did.

I used it on a medium sized box with about a 5lb load. I like the convenient dispenser, glides on easily. The tape is wide enough and holds well. The box was sent from Maryland to Florida via USPS and was received in good condition. Happy with the quality.

Works great. The 2" size is much easier to use than other wider brands. Easy to apply and holds really well. The dispenser could be better, but can be worked with after a little try and error. It does not take away from the usefulness of the tape itself.

I purchased two 3/packs of tape and lots of moving boxes from Home Depot. Trying to get a head start I packed boxes, sealed them with Scotch tape them stacked them in a closet. Three days later the tape is popping off every box and now everything has to be resealed. Now I will have the added expense of new and different tape. Packing and moving is stressful enough this just exacerbates the headaches!

Love this product, used it when I was moving my stuff into a storage unit for the winter, and it truly has been wonderful. Through the extreme weathers it has held up great.

This tape is ok when you have to pack and or you have a big project to use tape for. The reason for the star deduction is because it is hard to tear if you do not have the little slicer.

Good tape, faulty dispenser
The tape itself is very good. Holds the best out of the few brands I’ve tried. However, the dispenser could use some work. The tape often slips out of the binds, and the teeth on it aren’t very sharp. Still one of the best options out there though!

Packing tape was hard to find the edge, needs a strip for easier starting. Easy to use cutting edge and flexible red dispenser is easy to locate. Over all is a good packing tape. Holds well on boxes of all sizes.

NIGHTMARE to get tape off roll
Three ibuprofens and hour later, still struggling to figure out how to release beginning of tape roll so I could start using it. There was no tab to pull on end of tape to get it started. There were no directions on package, either. Finally put roll under bright light and examined. There is an INVISABLE perforation that needs to be broken and tape then released. There was no way to know this on the package.

I am very impressed with the stickiness of the Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging tape. The dispenser is sturdy and as I would expect. The tape itself is thick and does appear to be heavy duty as in it sticks well and seems to adhere strongly. Easy to roll, easy to cut using the attached cutter. The tape seems to adhere and hold strongly. I have had no issues with this tape and recommend it especially for packages.

Dependable and Easy to use
Ten months ago, my husband and I moved 400 miles to be closer to family. My mother had passed away several years ago and my father suffered a stroke so he made the choice to move with us. That meant packing up not only our home but everything from my parents home as well. Needless to say we used MANY rolls of tape. With so many boxes to build and seal I tried to cut costs by using "store brand" tape. I ended up using twice as much because they did not stick as well as Scotch so after 1 roll I went back to my trusty Scotch brand packing tape with the easy to use Heavy Duty dispenser. I LOVE the soft grip handle and how quick and easy it is to load the tape in the handle. This kept the momentum flowing and we were able to get more packing done with less hassle.

I've used the Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping tape to seal packages for shipping. I like the seal it provides the boxes. The tape is secure overall. One thing I dislike is the tape rips and splits more than I would like.

Great hold, not so great dispensing
This heavy duty shipping tape is indeed heavy duty and stays put well on packages. It wasn’t the easiest roll to get started, not was it easy to dispense once set up, though. While trying to start the roll, the tape tore and split several inches, wasting some product. I tried holding it just as directed, but it didn’t make dispensing any easier. It was a bit frustrating.

Strong and durable
This is very strong and sturdy tape. Easy to use and easy to start without having the tape tear while you are trying to use it. It holds on almost any surface. The amount and length could be a little longer but it’s definitely enough. The tear teeth are sharp and make it easy to get any size piece you need.

I have used Scotch Shipping Tape in the past to send "Home Reminders" to my daughter at college, four states away and good packaging tape was very important. I found Scotch Shipping Tape to be the best, but I wish, I had this "Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape" to use!
My reasoning for the statement is that my anxiety and comfort levels, until my daughter received the packages, would not have been so high. This tape I found, proves itself to be Heavy Duty and sticks to the packages and seals them perfectly. This would even be fun to use during the Holidays, if your family and/or friends enjoy having 'fun' opening up presents!!

This dispenser works great, but now that the tape has run out, I would like to purchase refills. The only way to do so is to buy the entire set with another dispenser, or dispensers. (I now have two empty dispensers) Is there anywhere I can purchase just the rolls so that I don't have to waste plastic?

This is a fabulous product. I like that it comes in a dispenser that is simple to use. The Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packing Tape is definitely "heavy duty". I only had to wrap the tape around the package once and it felt strong enough to hold the package together. I did not have to wrap it more than once and I felt that it was very secure. Great product.

Nice and Strong
Scotch® Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape really is heavy duty. This stuff is strong and has tons of uses. I think it's a good idea to keep stocked in any junk or desk drawer. I used it to reseal a bag of soil, and it seems to have done a good job keeping it fresh. I've trusted it for multiple packages I've sent in the mail with no complaints yet. It's easy to tear using the dispenser, but make sure to keep the end piece to reattach to the end of the tape as to not lose it to the tape roll. It has a nice clear finish and sticks well. I'd recommend it.

Heavy duty packaging tape with dispenser
I received the scotch heavy duty shipping tape as a free sample from 3m. I love that I only need 1 strip of tape to seal my packages. I feel safe using only 1 strip because it is heavy duty. Other tapes I have used before needed a few strips to seal the package. The heavy duty tape handles any packing job with ease.

I received this from 3M for review. I love that the dispenser holds up to pressure without breaking. The tape is very strong and the adhesive very good without leaving a tacky feeling on my fingers if I touch it. I definitely recommend this product.

Having my own business and shipping constantly this product really helps out. It isn’t cheap and doesn’t get stuck where you cant find the end. Ughh biggest pet peeve. It is very durable from taping moving boxes to taping up small packages. One roll goes along way and you can always buy the refills if you want to save on cost.

You can add this to your list of quality 3M tape products. This packaging tape is heavier than their regular packaging tape - great for heavier packages. I used it to take up a heavy box I needed to ship and it worked great! I was confident the box would stay closed as it shipped.

good tape ... wrong dispenser
I love the tape itself. It is strong and is easy to place and seal on any package. It took several minutes and a good pair of readers to get the tape started off the roll. I soon realized when trying to stretch the tape out, that the grippers on the tape dispenser are located too close to the tape roll. Pinching and gripping in the designated spots seem to inhibit the roll of tape to spin. Just a design flaw.

I received this product from 3M to evaluate and want to thank them for the tape. I have used other 3M packing tapes and this is of the same quality as those. It is easy to use and strong enough to hold virtually any packing. I sealed boxes containing over 100 vinyl albums and this tape holds extremely well. Would recommend it for any packing requirements you may have. The dispenser makes the tape simple to use as it has a built-in cutter.

I just got this in the mail. I tried it on a box to see how it works. It appears to work well once you get the feel of how to hold it. It is cheap feeling though. I didn't expect it to feel like the metal ones (which I dislike them) but I did think it would feel more substantial.

My choice for tape when mailing packages

Used this tape during my recent move and it held my boxes together so well. It is definitely strong and heavy duty and was a bit difficult to rip off as it holds so well so I’d suggest using scissors to open the box instead of peeling the tape.

This is tough tape
I received this tape, Scotch Heavy Duty Packing Tape, at no charge from 3M for my use and review. I found the tape to be definitely heavy duty. The tape feels heavy and has a slick feel to the non-sticky side. It is sticky and adheres well to the cardboard box I've tested it on. I did find the tape to be thick enough that it was a bit difficult to tear with the enclosed dispenser. I would recommend this tape as it does the job of sealing very well.

Not much different than other older dispensers
This product does not seem to be much different that what I have used in past years. The tape itself is the best part of the product. The manipulating of the tape into the correct position for use, and keeping it there, are a little bit of a chore. The cutter seems to perform better than previously used versions. It takes a little bit extra coordination to use the device if you have larger hands, but perhaps I just need more practice.

I received this Scotch Brand Heavy Duty Shopping/Packing Tape with a Dispenser free to evaluate, and I can say I was not disappointed with the product! We use lots of packing tape when storing items in boxes in our storage units, and we have used this tape often. The tape is strong, and keeps sticking even when exposed to extreme temperatures. The tape can be written on for easy identification of boxes. The smaller dispenser is much more convenient to use than the large handled device we were using previously. I also use the tape to secure the labels on my bottles of homemade extracts to ensure the remain readable!

I've been using this tape for many years, even before 3M sent me the sample of Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser. It works wonderfully well to close up boxes and packages for shipping and storage. I like that I can write on it with permanent marker or ball-point pen. Postage labels adhere without difficulty. My most frequent use is for "laminating" prayer cards, recipe cards, art, and other items that I want to keep safe from continued handling and moisture. Much more cost-effective and easier to use than a laminating machine - portable, too! Can you tell that I really, really like this tape? WOW!

Really is Heavy Duty
This is strong tape and it works well. Doesn't get too caught up on the tape cutter piece and seems to do a good job sealing boxes without lifting around the corners. I did not receive any negative feedback on the couple of packages I sent in terms of poor packaging or things came undone. Only wish this was a bit bigger to handle more tape.

Packing and moving, or just packing is a big job. And after all the work, you need your boxes to stay closed and secure. This packaging tape is the answer! Thin layer so it won’t add bulk if you’re shipping, but more importantly, it secures your boxes in setting them up and it seals them shut. The dispenser makes it easy to fast roll and break it off, but be careful since the teeth are sharp on it.

Easy to use
I’ve used this tape numerous times where moving. It’s a good tape and is really heavy duty. My only issue is that it does not come with as much as it appears.

It Really Sticks
Great packing tape and easy to use! Goes on clear and great for sealing boxes and attaching shipping labels. The product doesn’t tangle and cuts easily with the included attachment.

The BEST tape!
The best packing tape! This is strong tape, but easy to handle. The dispenser is compact but very effective and easy to use. This tape is strong enough to tape cartons of books with just one strip! The adhesive on the tape really holds, unlike other packing tape it won't pull off when you least expect it. I received a sample of this tape and used it and another brand when packing up my daughter's old books. The Scotch brand tape was clearly superior. The other brand needed several strips to hold heavy loads, but the Scotch tape was more secure with a single strip. That saves time and money!

Great holding power
The Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape is strong. It holds up well. I used it to pack up a box of goodies to send to family out of town. It went on easily and the dispenser cut it cleanly and easily. My only complaint is it was extremely difficult to get started, or even find the beginning. It appears they tried to make this easy after I managed to get it, but it could be better. I would definitely get this again, however.

Multi Use
This is a great tape and dispenser for everyday use including shipping, packing and long-term tape solutions. I always have one on hand for shipping products or tasks where standard scotch tape won’t do the job.

Hate to waste a perfect dispenser! No refills
I agree with AubreyJ. I have been trying to find refills for the plastic dispensers. There are none!! Terrible waste! Easy to use!

perfect for shipping
If you’re somebody he ships a lot of packages like I do. You need a tape that will hold up against weather and it traveling a far distance without losing its hold. I’ve tried multiple brands and this one has always been consistently good and I have re-purchase multiple times.

Great tape, keep it handy for lots of uses at home
I love the clear packing tape. It is heavy duty and great for shipping. I have also used this for other projects around the house. This tape goes a long way. It lasts through many projects and will be something you can use for a long time.

Handy little gadget
Discover 3M gave me this as a sample to review. I was a little skeptical at it's compact size compared to regular tape "guns", but it was actually more powerful to use because of it's size. I used this to tape up some small boxes for shipping and once you get the tape feeding setup, it is just so easy to use. The tape flows quite easily through the dispenser.

Easy to use and strong !
Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser is a great product. I needed to send a large package across the country to my brother and I used this Heavy Duty tape and it worked great ! I had no concerns that there would be any problems with shipping. I know the tape would hold and I did not need to worry that the seams or corners could come open. The built in dispenser is a wonderful feature, makes it so easy to use. I would recommend this product. !

Well I loved using this tape to pack my moving boxes. I bought the extra large boxes from Home Depot and this tape worked well in securing the boxes. Everything was contained as intended. They withstood all the handling and moving. Thumbs up!

The heavy duty packaging tape is amazing!
I was given a free sample from 3M of the Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape to evaluate. I was very impressed on how strong it was and even more so how super strong the holding power was of this tape. The dispenser is very handy and works great when applying the tape and when cutting the tape. I would definitely recommend it for any project or package where you need superior holding power.

It comes with a holder that allows easy application and cutting making it a fast and convenient way to seal packages. It allows covering labels and addresses because its crystal clear. Repair of cartons or other containers is also fast and easy.

I use the Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape to tape all of my boxes for shipping. I highly recommend! It’s SUPER sticky and strong, and the tape is thick so it’s easier to remove the edge from the roll if it gets stuck to itself. The dispenser is easy to work, too.

Excellent Tape
I have been selling on Ebay since 1997 & this is the only tape I will buy for my mailing needs!! I can find some others cheaper, but they always disappoint me. I LOVE this tape!

Heavy Duty for sure
I am loving the Scotch Heavy duty shipping tape. I had to ship a special comic to be signed, I neatly packaged it up and secured it with this tape. Unlike other shipping tape where you need to double the tape to make sure its secured. I also love that a little bit goes a long way. you don't need much tape either. Have to say I will be buying this just not for shipping but for also packing when I move. Its a brand I can count on!!

3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. I just used this product to tape up a cardboard box. I like this product mainly because of its compact size. The tape is strong and the attached dispenser makes it very easy to use. I also like the little strip on the tape that makes it easy to peel off the roll to get it started. I'd definitely buy more of these for my packing needs.

Great tape & size but no refill option?
Best packing/shipping tape. We go through a ton and hate to toss red plastic dispensers in landfill. Cannot find a refill for this size core (3" dispenser too big for small desk). Can you please make available?

Super Strong Trustworthy Tape
I received the product (Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser) free from 3M and liked it a lot when I tried it. The boxes I sealed with this tape stayed closed with one strip of tape. I am not worried about them going through cross-country mail and becoming unsealed.

Scotch shipping tape is the best!
This is a strong tape in a user friendly dispenser and it's made in America! Given the beating packages take in shipping ,it's nice to know this product won't peel off in transit and the post office approves of it's use.

The dispenser works great making it easy to use and very compact to store away when done. The tape is thick and strong. Seals the boxes just right. Also the tape stops from sticking back to roll and having to find the end. No extra cutting tools needed. 3m gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate.

Scotch Packaging Tape doesn't dissapoint
I received the Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser free from 3M. I'm so very pleased to try and use this product. Sometimes I cheap out and buy another brand and this was a great reminder to remember to always buy Scotch brand products because you are never disappointed with their brand. This tape was thicker and sturdier than any other product on the market and the dispenser just makes it easier to use.

The best packing tape!
I have tried various tapes (dollar store, on sale, off brands...) and have decided to stick with the Scoth Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser as it is top notch!! It works everytime and does the job. THe dispenser is great too!!!

Scotch® Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser is the product I received to test. I love it. It handles with ease. I love that the plastic tab is easy enough to hold on to and the tape comes out easily. I used it on a few boxes of things that I needed to pack up and put in storage. The tape sticks very well and did not unravel. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for taping jobs big and small.

We are very pleased with this product.
I received the 3M packing tape with the dispenser as a sample to review. The product was used by myself and my husband to seal boxes.
