Good picture
the tv has a good picture, however, when i first got it i had a hard time getting it to connect to wifi. the funny thing is i have a samsung dvd player sitting right in front of the tv which connects to wifi first time, every time. i learned if i push the start button to the tv down long enough for it to cycle back to samsung tv, it connects to the internet. now that i know this it is no problem for me, however, if ever someone uses my tv, i will have to tell them to hold down the start button. other than that, the picture is good, and the sound is actually "half-way decent" for a tv.

Wifi Feature Fails
the wifi on the tv will be spotty from the beginning. you will keep the tv, and the wifi connectivity feature will fail within about a year, outside of the warranty period to be sure.

Great Quality At A Reasonable Price
this is a really great tv for the price. the set up was straightforward and easy. the picture quality is very good and i only had to tweek the color just a bit for flesh-tones to be realistic. transferring accounts from prime and netflix was easy. i would have given 5 stars but i am quite disappointed in the fact that my hulu trial period was one day... seriously? not to mention when i purchased the tv hulu was supposed to be included, i guess that only menat i didn't have to download it to the tv. if that's the case, that was misleading. all in all though, it is a great, quality, tv at a reasonable price.

Smart TV, Dumb remote
tv picture is great, sound is adequate, the remote control is a joke. how does a company like samsung create such a crappy remote. it is hard to use with tiny buttons. my hope in buying this tv was to get rid of the need for appletv, but, i might bring it back just so i don’t have to use the samsung remote.

Unable to turn on without unplugging from electric
I love everything about this TV except for the following complaint.
We only own Samsung TV's as they are better than any other TV.
When we turn off the TV we are unable to turn TV on without unplugging it from the electricity. I do not recommend this particular TV unless you are on a budget and have easy access to the electrical cord.
I have 2 Samsung TV's I purchased in 2010 and 2011 and they are PERFECT.
We purchased another Samsung in 2017 and 2 years later little light circles started showing. We later learned they are little round things from the backlight that fall off and have to be re-glued and then the TV works.
I'm going to take back the N5200 to Costco, take my 2017 Samsung apart and glue the circles back in place as I LOVE that TV.
The N5200 is a bargain especially if you are on a limited budget. It's not for me.!

Nice Quality TV
i like everything about this tv except that in the ad it shows a hulu app loaded. when i tried it would not let me. i contacted support and they told me hulu is compatible. we worked for more than two hours and they couldn't get it to load. at that time they told me it was not compatible. a little late in the process considering it was one of the reasons i bought it.

if you are between this and another tv, go with the other tv. the remote has too many buttons. the picture quality is decent but the tv went completely black after 3 months of normal use. the claims process for the warranty was a huge headache. save yourself hours of being on hold and a month of having not tv - buy a different tv.

No Hulu?
picture and sound were good, but i returned this product. not user friendly at all, and no access to multiple streaming platforms that i use regularly. specifically hulu and nhl tv. samsung is supposed to provide all this great access but how do they not have hulu available?

Not the usual quality from Samsung
bought this tv in january 2021. at first we loved it. but about 4 months in the sound started getting weird (low buzz on the lower registers). then the longer we had it the higher we had to set the volume to hear. we exclusive use a roku stick because hulu was not an app installed on the smart tv and i couldn't figure out how to add it. some of the roku apps had great sound but hulu was particularly bad. i contacted support but my only option was mail in service and it was just more than i wanted to deal with during a pandemic.
now just 1.5 years old and the tv just stopped displaying a picture - but it still has sound.
just extremely disappointed in the quality.

i only purchase samsung tv’s because of the reliable product that they produce. this is another great product that i am very happy with. i tell all of my family and friends to always purchase samsung tv. currently own 4 samsung tv and never had an issue with them. yyou get what you pay for!

We have had this TV for a month and we are more than satisfied. Great picture which adjusts for room light. The initial setup takes a few minutes but the TV does a check for stations available with an antenna while you sign on with Samsung. We are using one of those new flat plastic antennas pasted to a wall. The original TV that was in this spot was too small so we gave it away and put the new Samsung there using the same antenna. The Samsung came up with about 10 more stations than the old TV so it must be made better. You will not be sorry if you make this purchase. We are very happy.

Nice TV for small spaces
i like this tv and it works nicely in my small space. only issue i have is it doesn’t work with hulu streaming. the app is not available to download. seems like this is an issue for many of the new samsung televisions.

Not what I expected
i purchase the samsung tv because it was the only smart tv that i can download spectrum. this tv was free from my employer. otherwise i would not have purchased it. i have another samsung tv which i'm not happy with it's a 4k. it takes quite some time when i turned it on for me to view my spectrum tv because it continues to disconnect from the 4k tv. not a fan of samsung. if it wasn't for the free tv i would not have got another one

this is by far the worst samsung i ever bought. it worked great for a couple months. then, it stopped connecting to the wifi. figured out how to do a hard reboot every time. annoying, but managable. now it turns off randomly. i went thru the tech support chat and they told me to place a warranty claim. now i cant figure out how to do that because it wont let me get past the nearest store because there aren’t any near me.

Very clear picture.
i like my tv, especially for gaming. the smart options and settings are a cool feature.
i think the remote is a bit bulky for a smart tv. and the tv lega span nearly the full 40 inchs makes a must with a wide tv stand.

Very Nice Picture & Sound
i'm pleased with this tv. it has a wonderful sound & picture. my problem is the hoops you have to jump through just to get it to work. the user manual is completely useless. if it wasn't for a neighbor i would have returned it. there is no reason for this to be so complicated. why is all that information needed? if you want to buy one, i would suggest you hire someone who can deal with all the nonsense thats required!!!

I bought this a week ago because my other TV went out and I'm sorry I did. I need to Uninstaller sling tv and reinstall it and I can't do it on this TV. I think I'll go out and buy a different brand. I have tried everything and nothing works. And I also don't get as many programs as I used to. No pluto for one. All I get is maybe three. I used to get at least five or six.

No support from Tech service. TV setup Not easy
the set up asked me to down load something. i was unable to use the tv unless i downloaded something. i have no computer. i was hoping to just plug in the tv and it would work off my wireless internet, but it didn’t. tech support. was no help. i returned it and bought a phillips with roku. no problems and works great. easy setup.

Great Samsung TV with lots to offer
bought this from best buy and loved it right out of the box. it was easy to set up, hook up and program. the picture is crisp and clear and this 40" was a great size for the bedroom. the only downside i can find is the remote is small but there are plenty of options like a universal remote or phone app.

Beware awful sound
just returned this tv to bj's. set up was easy and the picture was fine but the worst sound ever. it was like a radio station that is just not tuned correctly. constant hiss and static. did all the sound checks and when i tried to chat with samsung well lets just say it isn't 24-7 or even 8-7. it isnt the connections or cables as we hooked up our old 32 inch sharp and no sound issues at all. we hooked up our tcl and also no sound issues so defiantly very poor sound on the tv. extremely disappointed as consumer reports rated the tv well and everything we could replace it with from samsung is at least $300 more.

Great starter TV
I got this TV from a discounted store who brought it from Amazon or best buy. This is a great starter tv for 1080p in today's technology. pros: Slim bezel is small you sometimes forget it is a TV. It light up very well even it is not oled. Sound is good. How easy the os layout is very simple to navigate. Cons: only two HDMI ports ond one USB port all TVS have at least one. Back of the TV is used for another model.

some tv shows have different picture sizes. on the toshiba tv that we had before there was a button labled “ pic size “ that you could hit to change it. on samsung it is complicated, even the person i called at samsung took 25 minutes to figure it out. please a “ pic size “ button to your remote would be helpful.

Does not stay connected to WIFI
my tv set does not stay connected to the network. when i turn the tv on, i get a network error message that my tv is not connected to wifi. the instruction on screen says to either unplug the router or the tv. the first time it happened and did as instructed, but then the same thing happened. it happens each time i turn the tv back on. all other equipment connected wirelessly to the same network (another samsung tv included) stay connected without any need to unplug them or resetting the router. when i turn them on. i am so frustrated with this tv set that i am returning it back to the store.

Picture qaulity easy set up
the full hd tv picture qaulity is awsome. the smart tv option cuts down on alot of unnecessary devices that clutter up the tv stand area. i would’ve given it another star but it seems that the tv doesn’t like to load hulu.

Great picture, lucky to find sale, too
wow, i am at the age i realized the tv is smart and i am not.
however, the setup was quick and smooth.
the picture is super. there's so much content loaded on this tv i will never use it all.
the only thing i might criticize is that i increased the text size as large as it will go, and it is still difficult to see from more than 8' or so away and the remote is not backlit.
that is a big one. i had read that in other reviews and it's very true.

Remote is terrible, on screen menus have a bad UI
the remote has entirely too many buttons and they're all the same size/shape. the remote doesn't light up so it is near to impossible to use it in the dark without hitting the wrong buttons. the ui for the smart menu is also clunky and difficult to use. apple tv and roku are so much easier to understand and don't require a remote with 100 buttons.

Great as a first Smart TV
I bought the TV in 2020 from Best Buy. I like that it's a Smart TV so I don't have to use an Alexa or a Roku. The only thing I wish it had added was Bluetooth. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints or issues with it.

Turns off on own and lost internet on WIFI
the picture is very nice and easy set up to begin with. i turned off the auto shut down i like to listen to news late at night as i fall asleep. numerous times in the past two weeks the tv has shut off all by itself at random times like 8 or 9 pm or in the middle of the night at 430am. this wakes me up and it is a pain to get the tv on again the buttons on the remote are small. also several times as well the tv stops and a message comes up lost internet please retry. i have an ipad and the internet is fine on that. the tv is about 5 feet from the router. this is very annoying and i tried to contact tech support with no results. i might return it since i am still in my 30 day window. if it was not for these two issues i would be satisfied with the tv.

Apps and clear picture
the tv i great because of the clear picture and multitude of apps. i gave 4 stars because i expected the tv to be bluetooth enabled so i could use wirelesss earphone/headphones to watch tv whenever without disturbing anyone. i’m extemely disappointed this is not a fearute thats included. in today’s day and age of electronic it should be standard on all smart enabled tv’s. yes, i recommend the tv even without bluetooth.

with one exception this is the 9th samsung tv i have purchased. i made the mistake of not checking on what providers you can access prior to buying and that won't happen again. the one time where i had to have access to my provider due to where this unit was installed; s/sung has failed me. adding / uploading apps is no fun either. nothing to "see" here - move along.

Very buggy
tv is extremely buggy. i have a great internet connection with wifi boost so i know it isnt that as there arent any issues with the other tvs in the house. the apps don’t really download. i often have to unplug and restart it. it’s just not a reliable tv. ok to use sometimes but i wouldn’t buy one as an every day tv. it’s frustrating. after tax, this tv cost me nearly $400. not worth it.

The Dumbest “Smart TV” Ever Produced
calling this a smart tv is a makor stretch. it will access the internet & let you do very simple things like watch youtube. however, it is seriously lacking in available apps & features. the deal breaker for me is that it doesn’t even have bluetooth. i had jo idea that this was even possible for a tv that was produced in 2019. do yourself a favor and pay a little extra to get a “real” smart tv. you will be glad that you did.

Almost what I wanted
there is clearly a software problem with this tv. everything else about it is wonderful except, every morning i have to re-enter my wi-fi password because it disconnects overnight, and no matter what i try to do it does not store my password and reconnect me with a simple click. i have to manually enter my password, and it is so frustrating. i am losing faith in this brand.

Better than expected
We needed a new TV for our bedroom and after checking reviews for multiple brands and models, we chose the 40” Samsung N5200. The set up was very easy, especially if you download the SmartThings app. The TV does most of the set automatically and requires very little input. We are especially pleased with how easy this TV is to use, finding apps, down loading them and putting them in whatever order you want is a breeze. The picture is very clean and sharp and we love the auto dimming since it’s in our bedroom. We also love the auto turn off feature so we don’t have to set the sleep timer every night, the TV automatically does it every night at the time we choose. We were so happy with this TV, we returned to the store and bought a 55” UHD Samsung for our family room and love it so far as well.

Great quality and picture... but the apps
i didnt realize when buying this television that hulu was not an app i could download on my tv. every other app i want, i can get except hulu, which is very disappointing because its my main way of streaming. i wish i didnt preemptively get rid of my apple tv so i can still access hulu. i can screan share from my phone to my tv but that is not the ideal way to go.
also, i have yet to be able to set up the smartthings app on my phone with my tv. i know thats a matter of calling the support and getting that fixed.
the television is very responsive, set up easily to my sound bar(vizio), and the remote isnt too difficult to get used to. simple set up to start with and it even has a small selection of cable channels!

Good Picture
bought this a year (13 mos) for the guest room. picture is very good. this 40" tv wasn't use even 6 times. i went in today to add spectrum apps and i couldn't get it to connect to the internet. i got the message others got about not connected, but it won't let me enter any feature to set up the internet. i now realize my warranty has expired and can't get any support, or return the tv. i'm very pro samsung. in fact, i just bought an 85" for my living room. it will work with my firestick. guess i'm stuck with new wall decor. if samsung reaches out with an offer to help, i'll update my review. stay alert. samsung?

Poor color quality
Set up was easy and the extra Samsung channels are a plus. My biggest issue is the color. I have spent a lot of time in the advanced settings trying to adjust but dark-skinned people continue to look pale and white people look like ghosts. I have had to become used to people looking like vampires. I have several other Samsung TVs and this is the only one with this issue.

Nice clear picture. Apps take forever to load. Icons are too small. There is no way to set a default app. The function to return to previously viewed app doesn't work. Remote is not backlit.

Great Picture
we've always been a solid samsung tv advocate and we own several units. we recently purchased the n5200 and love it, however, it does not have hulu installed, nor can you add it from the app store. after spending way too long with samsung support, i was told i need to purchase a third party device in order to use hulu. this may be a small problem to some, but we subscribe to hulu and have installed this tv with a wall bracket and just discovered we cannot install the app, therefore, can't use hulu on this tv - very, very frustrating. i strongly feel samsung should not market this tv on their website with the hulu app pictured on it it if isn't already installed or downloadable. my hope is that they do a software update and make this app available on this tv!

Great value for a 40" tv
wanted a tv for the bedroom that was large enough to easily read closed captions but didn't cost too much. hdtv is plenty clear enough for me so this fit the bill perfectly. at $300, it was a great value - bright and clear images and colors, great sound. the only complaint i have is that the samsung "smart" app felt awkward but since i no longer subscribe to cable tv and only use streaming services, i switch immediately to my roku box and have no problems at all.

Nightmare to set up. Rediculous amount of screens to go through. And few days later kept saying hdmi not working. And the sound was uncontrollable. I wouldn’t recommend this tv to anyone! Also no timer to set for turn on time. My old tv had that feature. And it was 15 yrs old! The only thing this has is a sleep timer.

well got it home and was like wow what a nice tv. but then when trying to add out preferred venues i couldn’t find hulu. i thought i was missing something until i googled it and found that certain serial numbers could not get hulu. to me this is unheard of. i think the quality is nice for the price, this is my first tv over 36 inches and i hope i dont find other quirks down the road.

first had to sign up for an account to get smart apps. a credit card was requested...for what??? seems samsung want you to use their products first. apps very dmall along bottom of their appls, guide. the remote was not user friendly. when i called the support number, they had me leave a message which advised a rep woild contact me shortly. they did but via text. i needed a one on one conversation. picture was very good but the drama and frustration of operation caused me to pack it up and return it to costco. i have a large samsung in the great room that is awesome. i run apple tv on it.

i found this samsung smart tv disappointing. it didn't support many of the apps that i had on my old roku tv...one being hulu. it was also difficult to maneuver around. i returned it the next day & bought another roku tv. now i'm happy again!

setup was a pain. i selected setup with voice assist. i was like listening to the chipmunks in a foreign language a even higher speed. the paperwork was no help and i didn't want to download an app. after an hour of guessing what to do next i finally was able to complete the setup. quality is great and my wife and i were replacing our previous samsung which suddenly went black after only three years.

not hulu capable — salesman said it was and that’s the reason we bought it. we quit cable and sattelite, so hulu is very important to us. i tried for a month, everything possible, to find a wayto add the app — nothing worked!

The limited smart features are useful
it constantly needs to be reset to factory setup in order for the software to work. in about less than 6 months of ownership i have reset to the factory setup 5 times already. the apple air play stops working, the apps don't work and many other software issues.

i bought this set after returning a cheaper brand that would not connect to internet and remote didnt work. i decided to try the samsung because the ratings and reviews were encouraging but was slightly more in cost. it was well worth the little extra cost. ive had it a few weeks and love it. so easy to set up, walks you through each process and connected right up. sound, picture quality and is great. operation manual is online and easy to download but there are instructions on set up in the box. i use this tv in my bedroom and i have more free channels than our cable provides at a huge cost. its a little time consuming signing in to all the apps but once thats done, you will be enjoying your favorite programs anytime you want!

love my new tv. it had more options than i anticipated. my only complaints would be, the icons are too small to easily see which channel option you are on and when i use the left & right arrows to move the tab, it goes too fast and passes up what i want. i can eventually get there. i was pleasantly surprised by all the channels that came with it. love drybar!!!

it has a crisp picture, but the menu system is lousy -- you can't see what is selected very easily and it starts from ground zero every time instead of where you left off. was disappointed that tablo was not supported. ended up connecting a roku to get to tablo and provide an easier user interface.

i bought this tv from walmart and the voice was cutting out so i took it back and i bought another one just like it and then i found out you cant down load hulu app. so i bought tcl roku tv that has everything. all apps and you can stream your local spectrum app.

this was the worst tv ive ever pirchased (yes it was returned). the sound was horrible, very muffled, volume changed everytime i changed the chanel, went from blasting to not even audible. the picture was just as bad, washed out no matter what channel and no matter what changes i made to the settings. this experience left me never wanting to deal with samsung with any of my future electronic purchases.

Installation of apps is impossible
i cannot install any apps. samsung is holding us hostage to the pre-installed apps. sling, hulu or any other apps cannot be installed. this is by far the dumbest tv i have ever owned. unfortunately for me, but good for samsung, is the fact that amazon takes anywhere from 3 weeks to 1 month (or longer) before they ship anything. this purchase was a complete waste of money and time waiting for this piece of junk.

picture was good, and we're familiar with your products, but much like our other samsung smart tv, the wifi does seem to be lacking. the signal is not consistent, and seemed to want to disconnect almost daily. i ended up returning it, and going with another brand. i'll still consider samsung products in tbe future, but i will keep the wifi issue in mind moving forward for sure.

this is my 2nd samsung purchase. i first bought a 55” curved tv that went out on me 10 months later. fortunately, the warranty allowed for me to get a replacement. i bought this tv because of price and i also like to stick to namebrands but only 4 days after bringing it home, it went out as well and it’s not compatible with hulu. i contacted customer service and they were no help. returned the tv back to best buy and bought a less popular brand that is surprisingly much more reliable. i don’t thing i’ll be purchasing samsung tvs anymore.

i have owned samsung tv's for several years and i purchased this one to replace another samsung which i really liked but needed a new scree as it was damaged by carelessness. this new was very disappointing. i dislike the remote as it is cheesy and has way too many buttons, i have since bought one that was similar to the one i had with my previous tv. i also hat the way the tv always resets to samsung's channel and i cannot remove it from the options. will think twice before ordering another samsung without seeing it and testing in a store first.

switching to optical sound is not user friendly when using a external speaker. you have to keep going to settings then reset before it finally decides to connect. also, i can't use a dvd player with it switching from hdmi 1 to hdmi 2 and it won't support the volume and the picture wasn't great either. so using it to watch cable stations is fine but expect to have audio issues if you lose power and have to reboot your external speaker box.

Wifi issues/no Hulu
i bought this from costco and as soon as i got it set up, i found that the wifi did not want stay connected/logged in whenever i turned the tv off. i had to unplug the power from the outlet and back in every single time i turned it back on. also, there is no option to add hulu from the apps. ill be returning this and do not recommend others purchase this model. i do have other samsung tvs and i dont have these issues.

i have owned other samsung tv’sand this one was by far the most complicated and not user friendly. for one, i dont have cable and stream tv. i use hulu for my streaming and it is no where to be found. i looked on some forums and it said there is some kind of setting but i was unable to figure it out. by reading the forums as well it is a known problem that has not been fixed. i ended up spending money on a roku device just to get it to work. as of now if i do need to get another tv in the future i would consider another brand. it’s disappointing as i love my other samsung tv.

The TV was easy to setup. It has an excellent picture. And, we love the Samsung Plus TV feature.
I am not a fan of the legs at the outer edge of the set. I spent an $30 to get a center mount stand. It is much easier to place and position the TV.

the only fortunate thing about this $300 piece of junk is that it’s just for our camper. so we will keep it, but now we’ll have to purchase a sound bar. not a samsung one, though.

per samsung 'support' this tv does not support headphone use. adapters are not tested.
so samsung is essentially offering tvs with video but only half the audio.
tvs over a decade ago offered usenof headphones.. but now this technology is beyond us?? so confusing how a company such as samsung can have such an oversight.

i would not have written a review, but for the email from samsung requesting my feedback.
so, my wife and i purchased this for a yoga room and only used it to connect to youtube via our wifi network. she had to regularly reset the tv to get the wifi back. she then looked online and saw all the reviews of others having the same wifi issues. we elected to purchase a new non-samsung tv for the yoga room and use this somewhere a wifi signal is not required.

i liked my previous samsung 32" lcd tv and was very happy with it. when the picture began to go out, i got another samsung. for the size of the room, i could go a little bigger and like the 40". have to say though, i feel the sound is "hollow." i have done what adjustments i can on it. i also feel the picture is washed out and have adjusted that as well. it is my first smart tv so that is nice having more capability. since it is an older model, it was on a good sale. i would not recommend this model but would say go for a newer model even tho they are bigger - 43".

What A Gift!!
This TV was a gift given to me by two wonderful friends. They were here visiting in NY from Colorado. One night we talking about smart TV’s and they asked if I was really interested. My response was YES and they purchased the unit and delivered it and set in up. The picture is very good and the sound from the unit is very clear. I am totally pleased with this television especially the screen size. My original TV screen was very small & this screen is perfect.

I bought this 40" Samsung several weeks ago and am satisfied with it - it was relatively easy to set up and works just fine. I really like the remote control that came with this model as well as the instruction/information booklet. When we did encounter a problem, we found the Samsung contact phone number on the back of the booklet and were able to speak to a real person who was very helpful.

Wonderful picture and colors.
I bought this TV last week and I love it. Has wonderful features and the color and picture are perfect. I always buy Samsung tv's. The sound is good. So, I don't have to buy a sound bar. This tv is in my bedroom. I have a 50" Samsung tv in my living room too. Both are great tv's.

I never understood that this TV does not have a remote with a microphone. In this day and age of such

I bought this TV for its “smart” features; we wanted a TV without boxes, cables, etc. well, navigating the “smart” aspect of this otherwise excellent TV is so awkward and clunky, it defeats the whole purpose of having a smart TV. I’ve had to install an Apple TV atop the unit because the “smart” function is so incredible dumb it is unusable.

Great Picture /Sound Needs Work
I’ve had this television for several months, and I keep having random issues with it. I had to call customer service because the volume was extremely loud while it was on a low number. It was left at a normal volume, but the next day it was disturbingly loud and distorted. After a chat with customer service, I unplugged it to get the volume working as before. A few weeks later, I had no volume at all. I had to unplug the tv to get the volume back again. And then there are times when I can hear them volume increase and decrease on its own. It is subtle, but it is noticeable. Despite these annoyances, the sound is excellent when it is working properly. I like that the picture is clear on it. But I hate having to unplug the tv so many times when it is not working correctly.

Great TV poor Remote
Typical Samsung smart TV. When you get use to the menu system, which isn't easy, it's a good system. The worse part is the remote control that comes with the n5200 (Gen 5 TV). To remedy this I bought a BN59-01259B remote on Ebay, which is the same as on my MU630D 43" Samsung Gen 6 TV, and a much better remote. Now it functions just like my Gen 6 TV.

Bought this tv two months ago. I put two apps on it. It takes 5-6 clicks of the remote to get to where I want to be. Quite the path I have to remember. There is pixelation and words spoken do not match mouth movements. Working on that fix. Whether or not it’s the tv’s fault, don’t care, it’s happening on it.

Basically a good TV
So far my only complaint is the remote control. The buttons are ridiculously small on the lower half of the remote which is needed for watching installed apps.

Attaching the Legs and No Sleep Button on Remote
Directions were confusing about how to attach the support legs. The "L" and "R" refers to if you are facing the front of the screen, event though you are attaching them from the back. My only other disappointment was there is no "sleep" button on the remote, which I use every night. You have to go through several screens, to find the sleep mode. Luckily, I still have my old Samsung remote with the sleep button, and it works with the new TV, problem solved!

Everything I need.
I really like this 1080p TV. The 40"is the perfect size for the space I have. The 43"would have been a little too big. The picture is really nicer. 4K isn't really necessary for the size screen. If a 4K was available for the 40" may have bought it but I am really pleased with the 1080p picture. I was interested in a Roku TV and was pleased that the app was available as we as YouTube TV. It also has all the other streaming apps. On mounting the screen I was disappointed that it uses a 200x200 which were wider apart than my old TV so I had to buy a $15 adapter plate from Amazon to convert up to 200x200. Not a big deal. All in all a nice TV with super easy set up.

Probleems with the Remote.
My problem centers around the remote. I use direct tv, and rely heavily on the sleep timer. It seems ridiculous to go through like 4 or more steps to set this option. Also the critical navigation buttons are small aand positioned to the bottom of. the device. Other than that I have had no problems and like the tv.

Samsung continues to deliver a fabulous product!
Awesome TV that we bought to replace one of our bedroom TVs (Vizio) that persistently had network caching and buffering issues when streaming. This TV performs flawlessly with a beautiful picture. Once again Samsung delivers a fabulous product. I've never been disappointed with any Samsung product I have purchased in the past ~30 years - several TVs, VCR, BlueRays, a notebook computer and several mobile phones!

We bought this on sale the Friday before Super Bowl Sunday because our very old TV died, even though we don’t watch the Super Bowl. The picture is bright and clear, the sound good too. Love the Samsung TV Plus bonus channels too. It appears to be very energy efficient.

Don't buy, an epic failure
This is the worse dumb tv I have ever owned. It will not keep an app open. If I switch to hdmi 2 it auto changes back to tv or hdmi 1. There is no stability of this product and it is far from worth the money.
I own 4 Samsung TVs but I'm thinking it's time to change brands

Can connect to my router but not to the internet. Remote is just about useless for navigating screens and troubleshooting. Cannot connect to any app. Hardware and software seem to be sorely outdated.

Great picture. Tv occasionally turns on with loud volume and distortion. Must turn unit off and then back on once or several times to eliminate problem. Call me re: that problem.

Quite Happy With TV, Warts and All
This TV is just right for or needs. We had two(2) criteria in our shopping for a TV to replace our old system. Number 1 was it had to fit the area and number 2 the technology required both onboard DTV (OTA - ASTC) tuner as well as WIFI connectivity. We are pleased with the functionality of the set with minor exception. The E-Manual is beyond my ability to understand. I printed the manual (same as E-Manual but in paper) finding it much easier to configure and access the sets features. Picture quality is much better that the old TV but sound is so-so. A small but annoying design is the remote, it lacks tactile signal so requires you to look at it to access services. After weeks of use I still have not developed "muscle memory" allowing me to use the remote in low light. One other annoyance is my inability to add apps that I want from other sites and the ability to hide or remove the preset apps, none of which do I want but constantly stumble into by blindly pressing the wrong button on the remote, oh ya, in the dark it is easy to get the remote upside down in your hand and end up selecting something you then spend time getting out of. We only use the onboard WIFI to keep the software up to date. We us an external HDMI WIFI connection to get the apps we want.

Its good, but could be better
the product is good for basic use and for the price i got it for, i cant conplain too much. i just would prefer more storage space for apps and more app availability (no cruncyroll, no the cw, etc.). also wouldnt mind if my tv would let me connect to my bluetooth earphones so i could listen to tv while my bf sleeps. it does have really good sound and picture quality (compared to my last tv).
basically, buy at your own preference.

A mixed bag.
Setup was a snap. Automatically detected the WiFi from my U-Verse gateway. The free Samsung streaming service was an unexpected feature. Appreciate that it has a composite video input and the remote has a numerical keypad for entering channel numbers, the two major features that guided the selection of this TV over others of the same size. One or both features are missing from newer Samsung and LG TVs. With a bit of tweaking, picture quality is quite good.
The not so great: sound quality is not very good, people sound like they are speaking inside a wood box. Power cord is a bit loose on the connector in the back of the set, can easily lose contact with any movement of the TV. The sound went out one day. Made sure the sound was not muted. Sound was available at the optical output, but not at the internal speakers, either from TV programs or the internal sound test. I unplugged the set, waited a couple minutes, then plugged it back in, and sound was restored. The set would have gone back to Best Buy that day, but I was three days past the 15 day return window. The sound has not cut out a second time. The channel buttons on the remote are a bit funky, sometimes one digit does not register and I need to reenter the entire channel number, sometimes, using the channel up/down buttons the set will overshoot, shifting two channels when I only push the button once.

Great TV but needs improvements
I like the television a lot, but there are areas which need improvement. The app bar icons across the bottom of the screen are too small and difficult to see which icon is being selected. Either the bar needs to be bigger overall, or a selected icon needs to "grow" more so that we know what app is being selected. Another improvement is that the button layout on the remote is poorly designed. The rewind, fast forward, play, and pause buttons are located at the bottom of the remote and are very difficult to manipulate with one hand while holding the remote.

Missing Microphone
We love the TV and the excellent support but are so disappointed it does not have a microphone. We have a disabled adult son who is not able to be independent when using the TV because it’s missing the microphone capability. Who makes TV’s without microphones these days?

picture quality is exceptional. there are issues, however, the tv is in the same room with the modem for very high speed internet. even so, response time is sluggish and commands are not intuitive. it would be a huge improvement to have a remote that is backlit.

got this tv for our backyard patio and for those purposes, it serves its purposes. however, this tv is definitely not one of samsungs better models. picture is ok but sound is teally not the best.
for the price, this is an excellent tv. however, it simply does not compare to other two samsunf tvs that we own.

automatic input switching, channel guide
the channel guide is great! the added free channels and guide / programmable list work great. we had a 10 year old samsung that gave good service. replaced it with this one. great features. the remote has all the right functions and is easy to use. the automatic input switching is a huge plus. be sure you upgrade to the latest firmware as soon as you get it home.

Failed a Second Time
i've a samsung fan for years. i bought a 40 inch n5200 tv last year. a year later, just out of warranty, go figure, the tv would not output a picture. had sound but no picture. called samsung tech-support no help. like a dopey loyal customer i went out and bought another n5200 tv. 2-weeks of ownership i have a picture but no sound. maybe i should put the 2-tvs together. i'm losing faith in samsung's ability to produce quality tvs. at least the 2nd on is in warranty or maybe i can return it for my money back and buy a sony or lg tv.

Strange home set-up & incompatible with apps
the home set-up has you scrolling along the bottom to select the app you want, which takes far longer than the grid roku offers. the biggest problem is that the tv doesn't support nba league pass, though. why would a tv not allow you to watch the tv you want to?
the picture seems a little dim to me, too.
overall would not recommend.

Not great first samsung experience
bought this tv in 2020. wanted a smart tv so i didnt have to use a casting device anymore. says clearly hulu is preloaded. its not on my tv. after hours of calls with samsung, they told me to buy a casting device and hulu isnt supported anymore. theres over 300 video apps on the tv and hulu isnt one. also missing other basic apps that appear on all the advertisements (smart things, alexa, google home), but have scores of garbage apps nobody has ever heard of. i doubt samsung will get business from me in the future.

the picture is great! the control system is terrible. indeed, there was no logic in the design of the channel (app?) selection layout. it is very frustrating to use, and each time is a negative experience. navigating with the remote is also a bad experience. the design was poor, an attempt to cram too much into one hand-held device with only marginal functionality. imho, a complete re-think of the operating system is in order; not a complete failure, but close.

the image is excellent, better than the samsung we replaced. very light, and easy to mount. i don't love the smart tv aspect -- remote is cluttered, and the tv is slow to respond and to load apps. currently having trouble using both apple tv and a sound bar via hdmi but haven't tried very hard yet.

The BEST Television I ever owned
it breaks my heart to see so many negative reviews here, i guess people do not know what this tv has to offer. this is the first tv that i have ever had that does not need a physical hook up to work, and the phone mirroring option is wonderful! i am still learning new things with this tv. i am a trucker and this fits nicely on my bunk and i am experimenting with surround sound and it promises to be everything i expect from sam!!

Disappointed in Samsung
I bought this TV because the Samsung name and reputation as a quality product. I’m very disappointed in the narrow viewing angle, difficult setup, and poor internet connectivity. The TV keeps loosing internet connection and needs resetting. I have 4 other products that connect and stay connected. The Samsung is the only one with an issue.

One of the reasons I bought this TV was that it advertised that is was compatible with Amazon Alexa & the Smartthings App. The problem I was having was the only way for these two apps to work was that the TV had to be on. I could not turn on the TV using these apps. I have a Samsung Q8 series which I can turn on with these two. After talking to a person in TV support & then to another person in the Smartthings app support, come to find out that is the way this TV is made. You have to manually turn the TV on order to use these apps. This makes no sense!! If I have to have the TV remote to turn it on, why then would I need the Smartthing & Alexa apps? I could just control it using the remote. Why can't Samsung change the software to enable to be turned on with these apps? Normally I would give this a 5 star rating, but I will only give it a 4 star since it did not meet my expectations.

i bought this for the specific reason of getting rid of streaming sticks, but this model does not support hulu so stuck back at step one and wish i wouldnt have spent the money because its essentially the same as my old school samsung

unfortunately i had to keep this tv since only a 40" would fit into my space just above a refrigerator. would not buy hisense or tcl(only other 40" tvs) as i don't know reliability of those brands. every highlight is blow out. i tried to adjust with the many settings but none worked well. viewing from a side angle is horrible. if you can fit a 43" then buy the samsung since its 4k.

Wasted a lot of time and soap
tried everything we could think of to download the hulu app but after 2 or 3 hours we finally gave up. the tv is very slow in responding to remote control commands. and why the waste of soap? the tv is located in our open floor plan kitchen/family room. weirdly, pressing any button on the remote triggered the touchless soap dispenser at the sink. from way across the room. had to return the tv and get a different brand. works great and no more wasted soap!

this is an excellent tv. and it fits perfectly at a diagonal on the top of our chest of drawers. light as a feather.
one problem: i have to unplug and re-plug every time i want to use the smart feature. there are so many features beyond the simple “menu” of our past tvs that maybe i haven’t come across some tips that would help me correct this problem.
if anybody “out there” has a solution, please let me know. but even with this, i will keep it. looking forward to seeing what else i can do with this baby!

Too Slow for Being Smart
we bought this tv not ony because of the name brand but also the price. its picture quality is ok if you are sitting directly in front of it, but terrible if you have a side view. its response time in changing a channel or app is beyond slow. even getting from one app to another is a challenge at times. one plus however, is getting down to one remote from three in the past!
we’re still debating whether to take it back and exchange it.

i received this tv for christmas and i like it. the sound is really crisp - i don't like high volumes, so i keep it low but it is clear. decent picture. i am unable to install apps that aren't pre-loaded, so that kind of sucks. i also find the remote to be challenging - i still don't know what all the buttons do, and they are close to one another, so i kind of get lost and have to restart things. other than that, i give this a good rating. i never had a smart tv and was happy to learn i can connect to the internet.

I bought this tv past week and I amazed at the quality of the video. It integrates so well with my Samsung Galaxy S9 and it can also AirPlay. This is an amazing tv and I will recommend this to my friends. I bought this from costco!

No Hulu!
the tv works fine. but there is no way to download the hulu app. you have to get an amazon firestick or roku to get hulu. that kind of defeats the purpose of having a smart tv.

the ease of setting up this tv is difficult. why would you set the default to turn tv off after a couple hours??? and i dont see how to fix it.. i dont care for a blasted womans voice rattling off every time i change apps or turn tv on. dont know how to turn it off. i”m usually fairly electronic savy but this is not easy. if it wasnt such a pain, i’d return it to the store..

i purchased a 40" series 5 tv because i wanted a smart tv to access hulu without having to purchase a firestick, roku, etc. this product was advertised as being able to access hulu--hulu logo on the box the tv came in, hulu logo on the website, etc. unboxed the tv, set it up, and it would not access hulu. i called samsung, spoke with a rep, and was told i would have to purchase a firestick. this was incredibly disappointing to me and i think it is incredibly misleading on samsung's part! i have 5 other samsung tv's (only 1 is a smart tv and it will access hulu) in my home and i absolutely love them! i recommend them to my friends and my grown children as well. i will not do so in the future!

i love the picture and the features, sound could be better.
ive had this tv for about two weeks, had two problems, working okay now. shortly after i received it, the sound went out. itried everything with no luch. i was about ready to return it when my daughter suggested unplugging it. fixed the problem.
shortly after that, wifi went out and would not reconnect. after trying everything, tried unplugging. fixed the problem.
no further problems for over a week. i have my fingers crossed because because i really like it and 40” tv’s are becoming hard to find.

the picture is excellent. every feb. tv's go on sale. my old tv worked well but when i realized covid lockdown was going to last for months i decided to treat myself. i am so very happy with this tv.

a recent lightning strike took out our only sony (as well as our stereo and sound system). our two samsungs came through it without a scratch! we replaced the sony with a third samsung. it makes me recall the old timex ad “takes a lickin’ and keeps on ticking “. our dvr/u-verse box got toasted, and our 45” samsung connected to it was just fine! maybe they should consider renaming the brand samson!

Returned it for different TV
i have had other samsung products that i have been very happy with, including another smaller tv. i was surprised at how unhappy i was with this one.
the big problem is that it would not accept hulu as a viewing option. samsung doesn't get to decide what i watch so back it went to costco.
also the main menu was irritating in the way all of the pre loaded channel apps were favored and the ones we watch were a chore to access every time. finally the buttons on the remote are crammed together so tightly that i couldn't work anything by touch without hitting other buttons. in short, this tv had too many irritating features to keep.

Smart TV disappoints
samsung products came highly recommended to me and i purchased without investigating what i totally took for granted. in purchasing a smart tv i just assumed all apps were available, working, and could function on any smart tv. i am very disappointed to know that hulu is not an option on the samsung tv, and did not realize this until it was out of the package and hung on the wall and too late to return. so needless to say it was a lot of money spent for a product that i can’t use the way i wanted to

Best available HD TV to fit my space
i was limited in size/dimensions to fit my space and replace a 15+ year old lcd. if i could have, i would have paid 3x this cost and purchased a larger more robust hd tv but his was it. for $250 you get what you pay for.
it fits and i'm satisfied. technology really has changed over the 15 years but true vison quality not the best in this less expensive smaller size.

the only complaint i have is the remote is extremely sensitive. when i press the button to move to different apps, it whizzes past to the end. other than that i'm happy with my tv.

They are in control not you.
the tv will decide where and what you going to see and they are making it impossible for you to set the tv up the way you want to. you have to set up the way they want you to. sounds like america is going down the tubes again

Smart tv capabilities
it was important that i bought a tv that was made by a company with a good reputation. i need a smart tv to sign into hulu, prime video, netfix and many others. unfortunately, i am limited. this tv does not allow me to sign into hulu and some other important apps. i had the geek squad attempt also, this tv doesnt have the capability to do so. i have had to buy a roku to access these apps. i am not happy about that situation.

this is a smart tv and its dosent have hulu it has netflix but not hulu i was very upset about that.. what smart tv dosent have hulu i geuss its not smart enough. ill be sure to let others know before hand so they dont waste their time.

the tv is excellent. a great picture and exceptional sound, once you figure out how to access the features. the only user guide or manual is "virtual" but there is no other info contained in the box, no explanation of where to find an explanation even. come on samsung a card saying where to find instructions if not a small user guide won't break you. otherwise it would be 5 stars!

good value and easy to set up but there is no hulu app so i had to purchase a firestick. it took 45 minutes with customer service to confirm something they should have known in 3. i was told it’s a 2019 model but it gets disney+ so why not hulu. with the added firestick and echo dot it’s fine.

the tv produces a vibrant and lovely picture, however, i am still trying to figure out how to use it to obtain more channels. someone said i need to "scan" the tv or channels. i have no idea how to do this.
also, the remote is surprisingly very old looking and not the contemporary remote i was expecting. in addition, i would have preferred a larger remote and one that would light up so i would not have to turn on the bright lights in the room to figure how what button to click. do you offer a more sophisticated remote?

while we have enjoyed our tv, the app feature could use some improvement. it would be nice if you could arrange the apps and go back to previous app when pressing the return button. it would also be nice to have a sleep button on the remote instead of going theough so many steps to set it.

Does NOT support Xfinity/Comcast streaming App!!
we bought a samsung because it is known for quality. the internet/cable tv provider in sw florida is xfinity (comcast). but when we tried to download the xfinity app to stream the cable tv channels we
paid for, it didn't work. xfinity told us that this model of samsung tv does not support their app! we never would have bought the tv if we knew that. so we had to go out and buy a roku box to stream tv, instead of using the tv to stream. very disappointing!!

Great assortment of showson free channels.
has google assistant but you can't use it with included remote which also has a weak signal to tv. have to point it directly, perfectly at tv. randomly disconnects from wifi and picture is just ok. like the way the menus are set up. pretty easy navigation. sound is great and being a samsung hopefully it will be long lasting for paying a little extra for the name. all in all i am satisfied.

i really like how it added all my apps from mt other smart samsung tv. setup was a breeze. login and it copies all the content from your account, this was a blessing. picture quality tho is not that great. scenes in the dark result in pixelated messes. i cant find anywhere in the settings to try to correct it. also get some mild motion blur from time to time. sound is very underpowered, at 100 its still not really loud. the tv is what it is, a decent, cheap tv. you get what you pay for. its good for the price, just dont expect cinema quality, eye dropping picture like you’re accustomed to with some of the bigger, beefier samsungs.

Nice Television with some limitions
overall, this televison is very nice with a nice picture and speakers. i still opted to add a sound bar.
my biggest complaint is the television does not allow you to get hulu or peacock streaming channels, even though the ads show it does. i am hoping a future software update will change this problem.
but for the price, you can’t go wrong with this television.

tv is oddly difficult to turn on and off as it constantly fails to find the wifi signal (although wifi works for all other devices in my home). this alone has made it an expensive paperweight. i am constantly trying and failing to troubleshoot based on the screen prompts.
in addition, for some reason this samsung product doesnt support hulu. strange oversight.

Unable to connect audio to output
I didn’t like the fact that I can’t connect my stereo to it. There is no output connections for external audio use. You have to buy Samsung products to Bluetooth the audio.

Remote would not interact with the TV, Samsung tech said they packaged the wrong remote, sent me a new one, it didn’t work either…. Returned the TV to the retail store looking at other brands.

took off one star because everything is hood with this tb except it looses the connection signal often. i do not use cable so i use wifi to access programming. it looses yhe connection and its not the wifi, its the tv. have to unplug the tv to “reset” to get it to hook up again. other than that it works and looks great.

i have had to reset the wifi settings and manually connect to the network again every time the tv is turned off and then on again. wireless router is in the same room as the tv not to mention this is the only device in we own that has connectivity issues. this tv was a gift and has already been put up on the wall so i will continue to work with what i have. i will never purchase another samsung tv and would not recommend to anyone.

Crapped out in less than 24hrs
This tv worked for a few hours, turned off and never came back on. Remote sensor reset, manual start attempted and all I got was a red light blinking two times with no start up. Also purchased in October 2019 from Best Buy in Denver. You will see another review on here stating the same purchase time. Back to Best Buy it goes, going to purchase an LG.

I bought this less than six months ago. IR sensor no longer works. I guess Samsung expects me to get up from my chair to change the channel and adjust the rabbit ears.

in selecting a new tv, i was confined by space requirements. this samsung was the largest i could place in my cabinet. the picture and clarity is excellent. however, even though a picture of the hulu app is on the box in the advertisement, it does not support hulu! i spent over an hour with a tech support person from samsung, and she finally said the tv would not support the hulu app. i am deeply disappointed that the advertising and final product do not match, and that i did not more carefully read reviews of others who also had this same problem.

well it’s a great tv with a great picture and sounds but it does not support the hulu app. i wish i have known this before. i brought it. i still give it a 4 outta 5 but not having the hulu app is disappointing. i do like this product.

i love this tv!!!! this one replaced another brand smart tv that was slow to change, would crash etc. this tv is fabulous. quickly changes, doesnt buffer at will. the remote could have larger buttons, but that is a small price to pay.

Fine Technology at a Good Price Point.
We are long-time Samsung product purchasers. This is our second Samsung Smart TV. Naturally, we aren't 'blown away' by picture quality since it is still as fine as our previous unit. At 78 years of age, we just now are finding the 'Smart' part of the system to be cumbersome to use: there are so many choices of platforms to stream through.

remote problems
I purchased this tv from costco on 10/19/19. picture and sound is great! As soon as i got the tv, i set it up and noticed that there were issues with the remote. Less than 5 feet away and the remote would not work unless i was standing infront of the tv approxmitely 2 ft or less from it. You cannot be diagonal to the tv because the remote wont work. I changed the batteries out and still the same issue. I am not happy about this because this tv is for 90 year old who is in a small bedroom. there is no reason the remote is not working. Today, i was told that the tv would not even turn on with the remote. This tv is going back to COSTCO and i will purchase another brand.

Internet Browser cannot stream videos
i purchased this tv to stream videos using the internet browser; however, it is unable to play videos. i can navigate to the internet site, but moments after the video starts playing, it stops and an error message pops up. i have tried resetting the tv but that did not resolve the issue.

great starter with 1080p
i got this from a discount store who brought them from best buy or amazon a skid was full of broken boxes still had tvs that works. pros: it good for watching in 1080p. bezel is slim. easy to navigate with. screen have good brightness and easy to adjust. cons: this tv only provided 2 hdmis ports. and back plate is used for a different model. highly recommend it.

Great value, but could Be better
I bought this two months ago and I am pleased with the results.
A few things to note:
The volume fluctuates quite a bit. Most of the time I set it at 22, but other times I can only hear it at 38.
You should be able to easily remove the preset apps that you don’t use and easily access the app I want without the clutter.
I would like to toggle between streaming and broadcasts easily. Right now it takes a few steps.
The fast forward feature is not friendly.
The play, pause , stop and ff keys should be bigger

Dont buy if you use Hulu
the tv is fine, but the hulu app is not avialable to download. so, if you use hulu youll have to buy a roku or fire stick to get the app. i think its pretty ridiculous that a smart tv would not be compatible with one of the most used streaming apps.
