I’ve been using the Samsung Freestyle 2 primarily for playing and streaming movies, and it has been a fantastic experience! The portability of this projector is unmatched—it’s lightweight, compact, and easy to carry around, making it perfect for movie nights anywhere, whether indoors or outdoors.

Looks great and very clear
I've only had it a day and I love it. I bought a 75 screen from Best Buy on the cheap ($30.00). It's like having a smart TV in your hand. I also got the micro HDMI cord and I can play my Xbox on it too. Definitely worth its weight in gold.

A cinema without darkness will never be one.
I've been using it for 3 months, I didn't think it would look so good and HUGE. It has 2 disadvantages: when you turn it on, it's slow to display the menu and it needs darkness to enjoy it. It works great and the best of all is the size, super portable. I never thought I'd watch movies in more than 100" and much less on the ceiling. The sound is quite good, the definition and auto-adjustment to find the best way to project. The Bluetooth community, works with all my audio devices: headphones, speakers, home theater. I'm amazed by its solar remote control, simple and very easy to use.

A Dim Bulb and Even Dimmer Support
I purchased this device almost exactly a year ago, and the bulb has already gone out. The product is advertised as having a lifespan of 30,000 hours, yet I’ve only used it for one year. Even if I had run it 24/7, that would total 8,760 hours—far below the stated lifespan. In reality, my usage is likely closer to 5,000 hours.
When I reached out to support, I was told the issue isn’t covered under warranty and that I would need to pay for the repair. If the bulb had lasted anywhere near 20,000–30,000 hours, I would understand, but this premature failure is unacceptable.
While I like the product itself, the poor bulb longevity and lack of adequate support make it an unsustainable option. I can’t justify spending $800 each year for only 5,000 hours of use.

Great little projector!!
I bought this a couple months ago. It’s even better than I anticipated. We haven’t had a nice day for any outside viewing yet but being a smart projector is awesome. It’s set up just like our Samsung TV, so there really wasn’t much of a learning curve. Indoors sound is enough out of the projector. Haven't bluetoothed to an external speaker yet but haven’t had a reason to.

Great in quality really poor in durability
the projector is greater in image and sound. The smart part is well enough to avoid another device for streaming. The downside is the durability, mine only last almost year and a half (without using it daily) and the repair cost wast almost the double of the price of a new one.

The projector is very complete and satisfactory. I like the resolution and the way all the images are displayed, and the sound is very good.
I wish it had a direct HDMI connection. Otherwise, it's an excellent product; I highly recommend it.

Breaks after two years???
I found the projector for just under 2 years and all of a sudden, it is very dim, like I have to turn off all the lights in my room just to see it. And everything is a greenest tone. I contacted Samsung and they want to charge me $250 to fix it like what the hell how is this my fault that just not even 2 years, all of a sudden, the thing just decides to break. Don't waste $700 on something that's gonna break after 2 years.

It is a good projector for it's size and prize. I also like the way it can integrate with Smart Things and also being portable. But, I hate the way it is leaving a transparent light on the borders of the actual image/picture. I would like to request to release a new software update in which the transparent border will be removed which is so annoying to look at.

No option to disable Samsung TV Plus
The fact that you can't remove or disable Samsung TV Plus on this projector makes it so frustrating to use. Each time you turn the projector on, a TV Channel will start playing, without any option to prevent it. Such a frustrating experience...

Lasted 3 weeks! Do NOT buy this unit. It came with my new camper and lasted only 3 weeks when the screen went out. I registered it on Samsungs website when I first got the camper and when it went out I sent it in for repair. Samsung wanted me to send a photo of the serial number on the mounting bracket but the installer used a generic bracket so it has nothing on it. Now Samsung refuses to repair it even tho ALL the info is on their website! The repair center has no access to the registration website which is the dumbest thing ever! Online reviews have TONS of complaints about this unit.

This is one of the best purchases ive ever made. My friend and i recently moved and we each have a tv. His was 65 inches and mine was the freestyle. Moving was a breeze for me while his broke. Can not tell you how much i love the space saved too. Its crisp bright and definitely gets bigger than what i would've been able to afford if i had gotten with a traditional tv. If you live in a small space get a freestyle. There is no better purchase.

OK Projector - Was Expecting More for the Price
This device has some issues yet and I ended up returning it. My main issues were that the wifi card was very weak and things kept loading. The projector also kept randomly turning off. I tried resetting device to factory defaults and made no difference at all. I might have gotten a defective device but the brightness was not great for a room with sunlight in it and for the price I was expecting a lot more. The main reason for picking this one was that it had Netflix on it without having to add anything else.

Horrible Customer Experience/Service
Terrible customer experience:
Ordered the product on 9/6 for delivery by Samsung using my Reward Credits, some promo credits (that we were given due to a horrible experience with our Samsung washer/dryer), and my own hard-earned money.
Samsung then decided to delay delivery until 10/31 (nearly 2 MONTHS after the order date)!!!
In a normal situation, I could have just cancelled my order and placed a new one for local Pick Up.
However, I was informed that I could not due that due to the promo credits and Reward Points I had used.
Product may work great, but it is NOT worth the customer service you get with Samsung. Buyer Beware!
If I could give this 0 stars I would.
Our appliances throughout our primary home and all its TVs are Samsung. After these last 2 experiences, we will no longer be Samsung customers for any of our other homes and will surely go with another brand as these need replacing. Such a shame.

This is foremost, a portable projector:
An LED projector with a Texas Instrument DLP (Color wheel) and 1080P resolution with HDR.
Because it's a portable projector, it's not as bright as I hoped, so it doesn't compare with a dedicated setup, but it's very much enjoyable in a dark room.
About the size of a large can, the metal base is removable and the projector is wrapped in a soft material (Skin), so it provides some protection.
It's powered by USB-C, which means it can also be powered by an apropriate power bank/battery.
Inputs: The main input is via Wi-Fi, and it also comes with a Micro-HDMI connector (Adapter not included).
What makes this projector unique is how it automatically adjusts focus and keystone (angle of the image). It does this exceedingly well. When turning it on or anytime the projector is moved it readjusts itself. This is truly an outstanding feature in a portable projector. I can't say how impressed I am the way this works.
Smart TV features: Like Samsung TVs, this uses the TIZEN interface.
Also supports streaming gaming platforms like XBOX and Amazon's Luna.
The projector can connect using Bluetooth to game controllers as well as Bluetooth speakers, keyboards and mouse.
It Airplay2 as well as Microsoft casting and Samsung Workspace that can remote desktop to a PC or Mac (VNC) or to a Samsung phone running Dex with a keyboard/mouse connected to the projector.
It does not support Chromecast.

great but glitchy
bought this in december, after returning the first model (it was pre owned and bought through best buy) because it was glitchy. i love this one BUT it too has begun to get glitchy. recommend if using occasionally and not daily. type of glitches? while watching anything netflix, samsung tv, prime videos, it will begin to skip audio. it gets annoying to listen to. my guess is dusty parts? i tried cleaning it with a LEAF-BLOWER. also there was no dust on exterior prior to blowing.

I purchased this 5 months ago and it has been a great projector.
We have used it for outdoor movie nights as well as watching the super bowl, playing xbox games and projecting the computer/phone to the big screen.

It's okay but not the best
I bought this item Nov 4th 2023. So far, it does a great job with its technology, responsiveness, and internal wifi tech (most important piece). Although its been 7 months, the color is already diming a bit, I'm surprised I struggle to see brightness in fairly dark rooms compared to pitch black rooms. A few glimmers of sun through the blinds in the morning can really mess up your ability to watch anything and ruins the immersiveness. I would give it a higher score if i didn't have these problems with it. Additionally, the samsung remote it comes with is already failing in battery. You can charge it up but for some reason it dies so fast now. It has a "solar charging" feature built in but this is useless. I have to charge this remote all the time and now if I want a new one, I either have to buy one or use the annoying app on the phone. I rather the convenience of a remote anyone can use without having to go into my phone for them. Thats the point of a remote!

I've never owned a portable projector so I did a lot of research before nabbing this 2nd gen and I love it so far! It's portable with pretty amazing sound and I don't have to connect any external device(s) to access content.
The "point and auto-adjust" isn't perfect, but it's good enough and not an issue since I can adjust the picture size/angle/etc manually. It's runs a little loudly, but you tune it out eventually.
It's not the brightest projector out there, but that's hasn't been a huge issue. Any darkened room with smooth wall works well enough as a screen. I use my hotspot so it's super easy to get set up. I'm sure you could use a portable power bank to really take it off grid (as long as the hotspot deal isn't an issue).
I've used the Xbox remote play feature and it's fine, but I'll stick to my console for playing.
All in all, for the cost, I feel like I got a solid projector that does what it's meant to do and does it well. It's not the best photo attached, but the screen was probably set to somewhere around 70-75in (corner to corner) and being projected on a white bedroom wall.

A very good option!
Exceptional size and blew my expectations out of the water. I was able to cast the entire wall in one of my bedrooms as a movie theater size picture. The volume on the projection it self is perfect for a decent sized room. I was also able to pair the projector with Bluetooth to a Samsung sound bar and surround sound which made it really sound like a movie theater. The only room for improvement would be the Lumens of the projection, in aspect I thought it could be a-little brighter, but again not to shabby for a device the size of a Amazon Alexa.

Horrible quality and fails to power on
Have used maybe 4 times and now won’t power on. Just outside of warranty and they want $400 to service it. Just do the right thing and replace it or fix. Crazy to spend $1000 on something and it not even work 5 times.

Great, but..
We use our Freestyle for watching movies and games when there are a lot of guests over. Especially around football season, the guys will project it onto our outdoor screen.
We've noticed lately that it runs hot and that it's not performing as well as it did. Given that we don't use it very often, I'm not particularly pleased with that aspect. It is a convenient little device.
I wish it could be cordless for.more functionality and autonomy, but it works for what it works for.

Great hardware
The hardware in this is solid, the image looks great in the dark, gets about as washed in the light as my old projector. The issue i have is with the apps and controlls, which is kinda crucial as there's only one micro hdmi port on the device. The controlls for the menues are slow and have about 1 sec of delay on them. Also there's no way to force close an app if it's having issues other than disconnecting the device from power.

The Freestyle
I bought the 1st Gen of this projector and it was challenging at first to use. Trying to figure out how to plug my gaming consoles to it. For the solution, I bought a micro hdmi to hdmi converter 4k resolution to plug in my Nintendo Switch and PS4. Good so far.
No complaints. I was able to connect my Amazon Firestick as well. Only downside it the control connectivity. I called Samsung and they sent me a new one at no extra cost within the warranty. My suggestion is buy it at Best Buy and get the Geek Squad plan.

This thing is amazing. The size makes it easy to have anywhere and the internal speaker is pretty loud. Video quality is super clean and light is perfect. It has all the apps for streaming and is super fun to play Mario cart on. Recommended for adults who love moves or kids to game with.

HDMI NOT WORK - (CHECK DEVICE POWER)
I bought this projector for Christmas but the HDMI doesn't work. I called 1800-Samsung and they couldn't get it to work. The last thing they told me to do was do a factory reset, and it didn't work either, they now only tell me that the (Samsung Freestyle Gen 2 projector is defective) the most important thing that should work in a PROJECTOR I think it would be at least the HDMI input because if I don't have internet I could connect a laptop, a DVD player or a game console. $799.99 in the trash

Brilliant way to invest , best for the investment, very innovative and it’s best for the kids, room and bedroom. I have been using the Samsung freestyle to projector for a few weeks now and I am really impressed with it. It’s very light, weight and portable so I can easily move it from room to room, especially at into the kids room and the master bedroom picture quality is excellent with sharp images and vibrant colors. Watch the variety of content on it, including movie TV shows video games and sports and everything looks great. One of the things I love most about the freestyle two is the smart TV platform. It has all major streaming apps so I can watch my favorite show and movies without having to connect to any external device.
Another great feature is the freestyle to automatic, leveling, key, stoning, and focusing this makes it really easy to set up the projector even if it’s not on a level on surface Bavol very happy with Samsung freestyle to projector. It’s a great all around the projector. That’s perfect for home use as well as office or any business oriented.
Highly recommend this product. Whoever is looking to add add onto their bedroom or kids space in order to have some entertainment. It’s a good option not to buy a TV and have a portable projector. It’s also a good option for camping and mini outdoor activities.
The most interesting thing is, it’s more affordable it’s a bit expensive but both for the price so definitely recommend this product.

Very enjoyable but definitely not perfect.
I bought this about a month ago and have enjoyed it a lot so far. It's portability and easy of use are great, but it's far from a perfect device. Don't be confused, it needs to be used in a dark(ened) room to have an acceptable picture!. The auto keystone is almost never perfect. It gets it close most of the times, but sometimes you'll have to wobble it a few times before it's ok. I find the home page cluttered and not customizable enough. And please, Samsung, please add a function to turn off/block projection and use it as a speaker only! It has good audio and I like to use it as a wifi speaker to play music but it makes no sense to have it project during such use and waste lamp lifetime. I'm a first time projector user and this is not a device for a permanent, fixed projector setup. Since I move it around the house a lot we just project on the walls and with the keystone correction there is always significant over splash, doesn't look great but you get used to it.

Good product but disappointed
I bought this recently while we are waiting for our home goods to come. I was happy how very easy to use it and move it around but when we tried connecting it to our ps5 or airplay or the Xbox none of it works. We went to Walmart and best buy several time to get different types of HDMI but nothing works. We tried to connect and disconnect few times try on and off but still nothing. This is so disappointing.

First time Projector TV user
I'm getting ready to move cross country. I wanted a television that was affordable,
portable, and compact. I found the Freestyle Gen2 projector. From the first use I was hooked and love this way of watching television. Currently, I have the projector set up in my bedroom. I love the fact that I can watch it on any wall or even the ceiling if I choose. I love that I can make it as small or large as I want. Another feature I love is that all I need is an internet connection to watch all my streaming services such as PRIME VIDEO, DISNEY+, PARAMOUNT+, and a wealth of free TV and I can also listen to my music all from one small device. I absolutely love this device.

Great design, bright vivid picture
I love my Freestyle. I use it by itself or connect to my Galaxy s23 ultra or to my roku device. I love the design sometimes I just point right on my ceiling lay down on my bed and watch it. I take it outside use my power bank and use it via my cellphone. I'm surprised how vivid and bright it is. I love it so far. I hope Samsung will make 4k version of it.

Don't waste your money on this junk
I bought this item about a month a go and it didn't even last 3 weeks, we only used it like 3 or 4 times and not is not turning ON, I called tech support and they told me that projector is no good and that I will get a replacement but they needed me to transfer me another department to get the replacement, when they transferred me, i had to explain everything again and they told me that I cannot get a replacement , all i can they can do is refund me the money once I return the freestyle and then I will have to buy it again for a full price (paid holiday pricing when I bought it over the holidays) then call back and they will price match it, this doesn't make any sense, why going trough all this mess instead of just sending a replacement and returning the defective item just with one service call. I have been a Loyal Samsung customer that has pretty much everything Samsung products at home from vacuums, appliances, tvs, monitors tablets, phones and laptops but the customer service that i have received this year from Samsung is making me no to buy Samsung products again, i understand that you can get defective products but customer services should be good no like this mess that Samsung has. Don't buy Samsung products, they are not what they used to be and customer service is worse than ever.

Well worth the wait for the freestyle 2
WOW!!! The picture looks great and having a game hub incorporated is awesome. I received my first unit and have number 2 in route. I will post a updated picture with both projectors paired together. All I'm missing in my home is a dishwasher and everything in my house is samsung from laundry, kitchen and entertainment. Smart things is a little glitchy but after a few tries and a little patience, I was able to pair my freestyle with my 990Q soundbar. Now, I just need to experiment with screen colors and I will review what works best for the freestyle.

HDMI - No Signal
Hmmm... It is very difficult to connect my PS5 and Nintendo Switch to this projector using a micro hdmi. I have spent a few hours troubleshooting, watching videos and reading articles hoping I will be able to figure it out, but nothing happened. I have turned off and on the projector and consoles a couple times to see if they will connect but still nothing happened. The projector / hdmi function could not detect the consoles and signal. I am very disappointed.

Set up is very easy if you already have a Samsung tv. Game gaming hub is also a great. However you really need to have a great wifi connetion to get the most out of game hub. I am very happy with the freestyle so far. I added bluetooth speakers for added sound. Smart things also allows you to use your phone as the remote. I also like the solar remote.

When I purchased this a few weeks ago it was an impulse buy. I truly didn't think it would have much use in my home other than some occasional entertainment. From the second I turned the lights off and started up a Netflix show I was mesmerized. I've never owned a projector before and was really astounded by the picture quality. Navigating the menus and apps was a breeze as I also own the QN800B TV. The possibilities for gaming are also exciting. I had discovered my old SNES while helping a family member move. Lying back on my bed and playing Chrono Trigger on the ceiling was the most intense nostalgia I've felt in years. I'm extremely satisfied with this impulse buy and will be for some time to come.

Sounds good, but you don't offer a trade in for those of us who bought the first free style. The ?? SLOW one, built a room around the first free style and now you release a new gen 2 with "gaming hub" you just made it fast because the first free style is super laggie. My Freestyle replaced an older projector, that was 3 times larger. And am very happy that I did.
What I like about freestyle:
It's compact. A quality speaker eliminates the need for an external speaker. And built in wifi and apps eliminates additional cables.
It is smart. When I invite my neighbors for a backyard movie night, I love the way that Freestyle auto-corrects the projection angle. It gives me so much flexibility in positioning the projector
It is sharp. Even with a little daylight, yhe image is clear, sharp, and bright. So we don't have to wait until it is pitch black to enjoy it.
It is fun. Sometimes, kids and I lay on the floor and project the video onto the ceiling. And we also use the features for projecting holiday images outdoor, like Halloween, Christmas. And during parties, we have it playing old photos and videos in the background

Future problems
If you are thinking about getting this please read this first. The unit itself is great we loved having it as our main TV in the bedroom for the size and not having a standard TV taking up space is wonderful. Love it wish we could still be using it. The unit stopped displaying funny enough a week before the warranty expired, sent it in, had it repaired and shipped back. Within a couple weeks it's started acting up the same way we sent it in for repair. Contacted samsung about it since it wasn't even 30 days that we had it before I broke again. I talked to 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE. 1 was a rep that tried to help with simple troubleshooting, nothing fixed it, 2 was a phone call saying that they would take it in for repair since they failed to fix the problem I would receive a call for further information. The 3rd call was for PAYMENT, after getting told they would fix it cause they deemed that the original issue wasn't fixed I was getting told I had to pay almost half the price I payed for it to have it fixed. I said within couple weeks of receiving it back from you it's broken again, for them reason you got it in the first place and I was told they you would fix it since it's not working within 30 days and now your telling me I have to pay hundreds of dollars cause it's out of warranty. Don't bother buying this if they deem it fixed and you got it back out of the warranty period they won't cover it. I even asked to speak to some one higher up cause getting told that it would be covered them getting told to cough up $300 for a repair isn't right and I haven't gotten a response back. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT.

The freestyle is extremely portable!! (I even bought the carrying case!) And can be operated off a really big portable battery pack! I love how easy it is to focus and customize your viewing pleasure. The software is more like the TV with tablet type of features. Can be used with any modern Samsung remote in the event you miss place yours.

It's a great portable projector with decent brightness and size. I loved the smart features and how it adjusts keystone automatically although it stopped working great and keeps thinking the sensors are dirty which they are not it was a bit of a surprise that it was also basically a gaming console as it supports pairing Bluetooth controllers and plays different cloud gaming platforms.
