The connectivity to my computer is seamless and the download is very fast. Through my lifetime, I have had eight old and bulky hard drives to store my photos/videos. They have all been consolidated to my SSD T7. The other thing i like about it is that it is so compact, I can put it into my shirt pocket. I highly recommend the SSD T7 for your most important photos and files.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hard drive, but it's sticky I bought this at Microcenter new about a year ago. So fast it has been fast and reliable to carry. The case is rugged. My only complaint is that the outside of the hard drive relatively quickly got (and remains despite cleaning) sticky.

Selected "talk to an expert" and got nothing but a bot. I guess it's for tech savvy people only that automatically know exactly what to do. I call this poor customer service and poor product marketing. The thing is pretty useless to me right now and I'm stuck because I have to turn my phone in and I don't have all my pictures and documents!! Way to go Samsung! I am returning the product since I'm not tech savvy.

Have gone hiking, trails exploration and i do international travels for the medical teams and this lil nugget has survived it all. Bought in in 2022 and its going strong. Can't say enough to account for the assistance its done but be it water or drops it survived it all. I applaud Samsung for this, and im grateful for a wonderful companion always. The 4TB is the best spot, go for it. You'll thank me later.

The app is difficult to operate and kept formatting when connected to an Android device. Finally, the actual memory is easy to connect once my F-I-L formatted it into a sharable drive. Now I can use with my MacBook Air and will retry using Android when I update my phone to a 2024 model. I will update this aftward.

I can transfer large files from my Galaxy s23 Ultra to my MacBook Pro with no issues. It has plenty of storage space for all your needs. Most of my electronics are Samsung (TVs, Blu-ray player, phones, tablets, watches, headphones, and considering the new ring), and have little to no issues with any of them. You can't go wrong with a Samsung product.

I only wish Samsung could incorporate an app to use it as a storage backup device for all of my Samsung devices. Instead of transfering my phone files to the drive via pc, it would be nice to transfer files from usb c to usb c. Excellently drive otherwise. Can't go wrong with its solid built quality and robustness.

I have a samsung galaxy s23 ultra with a t7 and I cannot transfer videos or anything from my phone to the ssd. You're better off buying a regular ssd and an adapter with usbc. I have a cheap micro SD card which I use for drone footage which has no problems transferring files back and forth. They also claim the t7 is quick. Certainly cannot compete with a micro SD card you van buy at Walmart for $20.

I'm a System Administrator at my company and when it comes to portable storage for backups, sensitive information, or even personal data, my go-to has been, is, and will be Samsung. I've had several Samsung portable SSDs throughout this years, but there's a special place in my life for the T7 Shield ones, for several reasons: 1. They're just timeproof, I've had a couple with 4TB capacity for almost 3 years now, I use them every day since I have my personal files and games there, and they're as good as when I first used them. 2. They're very sturdy, I take good care of them, but accidents happen, and I've had more than a few, I've dropped them, dropped some solid stuff on them; even one day I fell and my T7 Shield flew for a bunch of feet before impacting a wall and nothing happened to it, not a single scratch. The rubber cover is just amazing. 3. The speed of these little guys is insane, I've transfered heavy files (over 50GB) in just a few minutes. 4. Speaking of accidents, I've dropped liquids on them (my water bottle tipped) and absolutely nothing happened, it was then when I believed that they really had an IP65 water and dust resistant rating. Overall, it's a great product with great capabilities and features, it's not expensive, and even if it is more expensive than other brands with the same capacity or speeds, just remember, features makes the difference, it's better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them.

Super fast for my usage, lots of space to store my personal stuff like documents, photos, videos softwares etc. The most important above all is it's portability it's so lightweight and small in size you don't even know you are carrying it in your pocket, easy to connect with USB C cable which comes along with the hdd. Guys it's STURDY STURDY AND STURDY enough even when is falls down from a height as it happened in my case 2 to 3 times. It fell from a table of height of 3 to 4 feets you just plug it to your machine and it works as if nothing has happened.

I have WD and it stopped working pretty quickly, think it's the cord which has a specific connection, so you can't get a new cord even with recovery plan. The T7 has a standard USB/C cable, light weight, and carrying case. I use it to keep important documents backed up, my University class files and my gaming (my laptop is old and need to keep as much as possible free). I planned ahead and got the 4T. Still so much space available.

Also, if I use both at the same time, they may disconnect. I believe it is a power consumption issue. There should be a split power cable such as offered by other companies. Finally, this drive got really hot while I was upgrading to it. Since it is 4TB, it should be able to run continously for a longer time than a smaller drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Massive amount of space I don't usually write reviews but this product here deserves more than 5 stars, I use the t7 ssd portable ssd 4tb on my alienware aurora r7 and I'm able to store a massive amount of videos and games, i bought it almost two years ago and I still have 2tb left of space, speeds are great make sure you have 3.2 usb c ports in your devices to take advantage of such great speeds, my games load faster than the ps5s ssd and Xbox ssd, make sure you update the driver there are YouTube videos to show you how to, its very simple and easy I noticed the update helps to prevent corrupted data, personally I've never experienced any issues but it's something I saw on YouTube before my purchase

This drive has great build quality, a Stealth look, IP65 water resistant, rugged, and Decent speed. Also 4TB!!!! This is precisely what I was waiting for. The only thing I had hoped for was the true NVME speeds this drive lacks. But possibly they didn't release at that speed because of the overheating and reliability at those higher speeds. Sandisk G40 Pro is achieving 2k speeds but that's crazy expensive. I think this is the sweet spot. Will be looking forward to the faster speed drives Samsung is going to release in the future.

Mac update pushed me into going with the SSD hard drive after a previous update caused a hard drive to become unavailable. So glad I made this purchase, it natively synced with the Mac, no need to reformat it. All my issues got resolved with the Samsung SSD hard drive. You will definitely see a speed improvement when set up correctly.

I emptied all the partitions of my laptop, the BBC Shakespeare collection from my tablet, the movies and games I've owned over the years from my HDD and the LOG footage I shoot from my phone into this and was hoping for the storage to go red as it touches 800 GB because I'm so used to 1TB being a limit for most drives I own, but it barely scratched the surface here and I heaved a deep sign of contentment and relief as I saw that more than 75% of the drive is still empty. No matter if I connected it to my lappy or my phone, It ran cool as a cucumber and fast as the flash, thanks to the extremely versatile and well optimized 'Samsung Magician' software. This has single handedly been my best tech purchase of the past half a decade!!

HOWEVER I have the drive encrypted using Mac APSF encryption. This slows the drive on my computer (as it does on other drives) but on my wife's M1 MacBook Air, this drive suffers more read slow down than my Sandisk SSD extreme V2 drives. Those drives (also encrypted) suffer almost no read/write speed slowdown on her computer but this Samsung drive suffers noticeable read slowdown. Not sure why there is a discrepancy there but it is. Overall however, the drive works great on my computer and seems reliable so far. Do recommend.

I've lost a lot of data and I've had to reinstall my operating system many times due to hard drive crashes. I replaced every hard drive in my system with this one little masterpiece of electronics. I have 4 partitions about 1TB each - operating system on one, documents and pictures on another, downloads and misc storage on another. Very fast RW rate and if I want - I can take it all with me. The T7 Shield comes with the transfer cable, and the T7 Shield has a very nice feel, a non-slip rubber coating. I finally ran out of room on the internal 2TB, Samsung 980 Pro. So hopefully having 6TB worth of storage should get me years of use. I always try to invest in Samsung Electronics, they've never failed me. Keep delivering them goods Samsung.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SSD T7 Does Not Work, Has No Technical Support i was thinking that this device will be the great purchase that will satisfy my backup files necessities. i was totally wrong.. it works fine for one time complete back up my files and the security protection sounds great.. i bought it on 04/23/23. i had to restore some files from it, and surprise my SSD T7 Shield does not work. i called support technical support and the asked me to download Samsung Magician software that did not help me to resolve the issue. i called and chatted several times with Samsung to get real technical support, repair or warranty to be replace it or get my money back, and from all i got a huge disappointed and frustration. so I trusted Samsung SSD T7 shield to back up my files... i cannot access to files, i cannot get support, Samsung care that DOES NOT CARE. so can someone tell me what can i do to get warranty or money back. because i do not trust Samsung anymore. maybe i will have to complain to Federal Trade commission and Better Business Bureau.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features, but Crappy Support I love the drive itself. The speed is really fast to upload and download files. The challenge comes from getting a replacement cable. I cannot find the replacement part number for the cables anywhere. The cable was damaged, I need to replace it. I thought coming to the Samsung website, I could get the part number for the cables that go with the drive. I even tried the chat bot that just sent me to another website that just gives me a list of part numbers, none of which will come up when I enter the drive specs. The chat bot cannot give me a part number, it just sends me back to the same useless website. Once upon a time, companies put the part numbers for replacement components on their websites in locations that were easy to find and you did not have to go through automated purgatory with a chat bot that sends you in circles to find a simple answer to a simple question. All I wanted was a replacement part number for the USB B to C cable. It could go on the specifications page of the website. Presumably you want to sell products. Do not make me waste time digging through your website. Making things difficult is a good way to ensure I look elsewhere the next time I need to buy a drive.

I saw the 4 TB version and purchased it without hesitation (especially since it was on sale!). When I opened the box I was surprised by how small and light it was. As I transferred data, I was shocked as to how fast the data transfer was! I will definitely need to purchase more of these and I highly recommend!

I then packed it in a hicking pack with me all over the world. The only issue is that the USB connection requires solid cables that fit snug and don't jostle, or it disconnects often. It's fast when I need to search in the data chaos that is my life while out on the road.

Transfer speeds are at 4 mbytes per second. I have tried multiple cables and they work fine on other SSDs. I have registered my product but will leave my review at 1 star until they replace it.

I have never really relied upon external drives except for storage, but this is my main go to now for ongoing projects I have. Not just storage anymore. It is to make my work flow better by relieving my laptop hard drive some load. And to add more, I never feel like I had to be extra careful in handling this portable T7. Carries delicate memories but tough make to withstand drops and even moisture.

It is very reliable and faster than the average external storage devices. Especially if you're moving large files or a mass amount of data it takes a while for the devices to receive and read the data but not with this external device.

I was able to store my photos from my phone flawlessly without the need to use a computer.
