Samsung S34J550WQN - SJ55W Series - LED monitor - 34" is rated 4.33 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor but. Just bought this monitor after having a 1080p 29" LG ultrawide. All I gotta say is, the down tilt angle is garbage and horrible for setups with raised monitors, Sitting dead center of the monitor and about 2/3rds of the rest of the monitor is just washed out white

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Monitor it has a sharp picture with many options. i mounted mine on a floor stand in front of my desk instead of using the stand that came with it. i use it at 3440x1440 and set the win10 display zoom to %150. i have an rx 590 fatboy graphics card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought from Costco for $299 i bought this from costco for 299 and its been worth every penny. i only wish that it was more than 75hz but i really shouldn't be complaining due to it being a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a bad monitor i love the size and it seems to work flawlessly. the coloring does look washed out no matter what setting i've tried. but the price is one of the cheapest i've seen for a ultrawide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seizure Samsung Where do I begin?? I'm EXTREMELY (and I wish that I clukd make this letters bigger) disappointed with the quality of this monitor. Right from the moment that I turned this monitor on, without even plugging a computer in yet, I began to see different color lines of pixels. I read a review about "seizing Samsung" and of course that I ignored it because I am a devoted (was maybe) Samsung user and ordered the monitor regardless. The color was (I am returning this junk) horrible, dull, yellowish colors (my laptop looked 100% better. Of course that I played with the settings and resolutions, without success. Besides what everyone else's says, if you can stay away from this monitor do so. Again, I am a devoted Samsung users, but this monitor has lots to be desired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great after power cord replacement I had many issues with the power cord. Support had me send it in and determined the power cord was the issue. It has been running great since getting it back. They could have shipped it faster but I'm just happy to have it back for work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with this purchase! after several months of research, i was wavering between a 4k 28" dual monitor and an ultrawide monitor. after much thought, i decided to go with the ultrawide. this was most predicated on the fact that i am running an gtx sli 980ti. i order this directly from samsung. the time that it took to receive the monitor was a bit disappointing (it took more than a week), but i was happy when the package arrived unmolested from the left coast. before the monitor arrived i had read several reviews that indicated that the oem stand was undesirable, at best. i researched desktop vesa monitor stands and found a well liked hemuda tv stand online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor could have better instructions fantastic once i got it set up. a challenge with getting the sound to go through the monitor's sound port. problem wasn't with the monitor but the output settings on the pc. samsung help solved the issue. about the monitor: fantastic picture, great size (and now that i've spent an hour with the little touch wheel on the back, lots of customization of picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice looking. Poor power connector. Bad design i bought this monitor and had high hopes. the power adapter constantly pops out. it plugs in from underneath instead of directly in the back. i use tape to try and keep it in place. i have considered buying another for working from home but if i do it will be another brand due to this major design flaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Multitasking At work I use multiple monitors, which works well overall, but the split in between and the multiple stands makes it a good, but not ideal option. This monitor works very well for multitasking as it's essentially the size of two monitors placed side-by-side, but offers significant advantages such as having a single stand and having no gap in between. I can comfortably use two programs side by side, which significantly improves my efficiency. I regularly use Excel, PowerPoint, Word and web browsers side by side for both work and school. In all cases I have used Windows built in features to anchor programs to one side of the screen or the other, but I know that when I have more advanced use cases I'll be able to use the built in split screen and Picture in Picture modes. The monitor is easy to set up, looks gorgeous with good color reproduction and a high resolution (3440x1440 resolution) and has a good menu system. The menu is controlled using a small joystick in the back. It takes a few minutes to get used to using, but then is much more intuitive and effective than other menu systems I have used in the past. I recommend the monitor for those who want or need the extra space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Monitor with Simultaneous Input Streams! Wow, what a beautiful monitor. With the huge 3440x1440 resolution on a 34 inch screen, you can do it all with just one monitor. Having two applications running side by side with room to spare is quite an awesome experience on this one monitor. Plus you can include additional inputs from another PC, game system, or TV simultaneously with the Picture in Picture / Picture by Picture feature. This is a super sharp and bright monitor and I'm really enjoying it. I took the monitor through a spin on my YouTube review check it out. #SamsungMonitorExperience #SamsungUltraWideMonitor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance monitor in a perfect form factor This monitor replaced the dual monitor setup I have. I really like the aspect ratio of this monitor. It is perfect for my Work From Home setup. And I like the form factor of this monitor. It is really thin, and takes up lot less space than my existing setup. Finally, the performance of this monitor is great. I do not do lot of gaming or Photoshop, but I do work a lot, and watch lot of videos. So far I've only had positive experience with it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ridiculously large, but ridiculously AWESOME! Super excited to receive this monitor I have a dedicated desktop for video editing. Now I have plenty of room working in Adobe premier pro & after effects, no more scrolling side side to see everything. It was packaged well, attached the stand in seconds. Although little, LOVE the cable clip on the back to keep them inline with the stand and hidden.. picture quality of the WQHD is amazing, it is Sharp, colors are bright and crisp!! Havent used the pip option havent needed too! I would highly recommend it for anyone using video or photo editing software   [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful display, easy to set up and use This is a beautiful monitor: both physically, and the display. It's packaged well, arrived undamaged, and easy to set up. Despite its size, it's relatively light and easy to move around. It can be used with the included stand, or mounted via 4 holes on the back. I plugged in my laptop, and it displayed the screen immediately. The 'JOG' button (a joystick-like button on the back of the monitor) is intuitive to use if you need to change settings, and helps to maintain the clean lines of the monitor. This display can easily replace a 2-monitor setup, as it's so wide that you can put windows (applications, spreadsheets, etc.) side-by-side and easily see everything at once. It has a picture-in-picture and picture by picture function that will display 2 different sources at the same time (there are 2 HDMI ports and 1 DisplayPort). It also has lots of picture customization options, including eco options and 'Samsung Magic' upscaling that enhances the details of the picture. This appears to sharpen and possibly slightly change the contrast. I didn't like the effect when used for the type of work I do, but perhaps it would be something some would enjoy for certain applications. Overall, this is a fantastic monitor, with a beautiful picture and enormous size. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Samsung widescreen+dex for the win! I received my Samsung Ultra wQHD monitor a few weeks ago, and wow!, the size and brightness of this screen is impressive. i was extremely excited to see what Samsung DEX would look like and perform on this screen, and it does not disappoint, settings were perfect right out of the box. with my multi tasking, pulling up multiple documents to work on and researching in the browser, i have essentially created a complete desktop setup for less than $500.00 that performs seamlessly and is more than enough for the tasks i am going to require of it. The unboxing and setup was extremely easy, no instructions necessary, in a world where poeple pay IT departments to do anything tech related, this makes them obsolete! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well if it works Contacted the reseller and samsung customer service but none of them are helpful. Here is my issue: I am using a certified displayport 1.2, hoping I can run in the stock 75hz (the included HDMI cannot reach 75hz for some reason). It turns on, but frame skips. Once I load into windows, I can unplug and re-plug the power or the displayport, then I can hit 75hz smoothly. Another annoyance is that when the monitor is off, the blue led turns on and flashing. I can tape that off so it doesn't bother me when I sleep. The bigger annoyance is sometimes it thinks it detected signal from the PC that's off, and the screen turns on and off. That happens about once in a few hours. I don't know the exact interval because I am supposed to be sleeping. So, to over come with these issues. I just unplug the monitor every time I turn off my PC, and plug in my monitor after the PC is loaded into windows. My old 24" samsung syncmaster had a power button.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic monitor for multitasking At first, I was hesitant that I would not like the 34" HD monitor over having (2) 24" monitors to use in my home office. Only after using it for about 15 minutes, I realized that this is going to work out great! The 34" monitor looks great and has a great aesthetic appeal in my office. The ability to have split screen and windows stacked clearly has helped me manage all the tasks that I am trying to complete. This was great for Oulook/Email, Web Browsers, Excel, CRM and other line of business applications. The PIP (Picture in Picture) was easy to setup and use. Couple clicks and I was ready to rock and roll. My mom could even do it. I would highly recommend this monitor to someone that needs something like this. I won't mind doing work at home as much now! P.S. - This also looks a lot nicer in my office, which keeps my wife happy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No squinting and tons of multitasking If you want amazing quality this is the monitor for you. First off I love way that the packaging was done. Two boxes but the outside box was an unmarked boxed. This made me happy/felt a lot better since mine sat on my porch for a couple hours and no one was the wiser as to what it was. Next set up was a breeze. It took longer to open the two boxes then to attach the two pieces...yes two pieces...4 if you count the cables & power cord. It should only take you 5 minutes maybe 10 minutes tops. My laptop is small and light however, the downfall with that is a small screen. I have used dual monitors which was helpful up until my purchasing of the Samsung 34" Ultra WQHD Monitor for my home office one screen is enough. I can multitask to my hearts desire. Tons of applications and or browser windows can fill this monitor an you can keep plugging away. If you pick the PIP option the size is awesome. Many different placement on the screen. I also love the eye saver mode...after staring at a screen all day (8/10 hours plus) our eyes need a break. You will totally notice a difference once you turn this feature on/off. The only thing I must warn you is if you have an old style desk (molded for a certain size) this monitor will not fit. Do yourself a favor upgrade your desk...it will need to be an open concept or long desk. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real nice monitor, just be aware of limitations I've always bought really cheap monitors, so this was a splurge meant to get rid of 3 lame monitors, each connected to different machines. I use an application called ShareMouse to seemlessly go to each different computer on the same mouse and keyboard. I was hoping that would carry over with the PiP functionality with the SJ55W, but it doesn't work at all. It doesn't even work when I switch the inputs to the other machines. That isn't the fault of the monitor and I may have still bought this model even without it, but it looks like PiP is mostly passive, allowing you to watch content on that computer but nothing else. I did dig out an old KVM switch and now I've got good functionality. If I had any complaints, it's that I'd like to see an application to switch inputs rather than the 4 way button on the back. But as far as monitor buttons go, it's pretty good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect monitor for multitasking The Samsung Ultra Wide 24" monitor is perfect for anyone needing additional screen space. This monitor has a crystal clear 3440 x 1440 resolution and the ability to connect using Display port or HDMI. I current connect using the Display port which allows me to connect a second monitor using the HDMI port. The screen split allows be to dedicate two screens on this monitor at the same time. This is great for programming an web design. Now I can have a screen for edits and one to view output. This is also helpful for spreadsheets and other work related tasks. Screen is so clear, I have also used this monitor to stream Hulu and Amazon movies. This would be convenient for small spaces like a dorm room. The setup was easy. Only took a few minute from box to ready to use. Laptop located and automatically installed the correct drivers. No searching and no need for CDs. Thinking about picking up a second one for my home office. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beautiful multitasking beast The SJ55W easily replaced my previous two monitor setup. The ultrawide aspect ratio gave more than enough real estate for multiple applications. This monitor truly was made for multitasking. Image quality was excellent as well; near-IPS color reproduction and wide viewing angles. I was actually pretty impressed with the picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture feature. I have a 2nd computer connected to the second hdmi port on the monitor and I am able to quickly switch to that second source and even display both at the same time. It would be even better if there was a keyboard shortcut to switch inputs, but it still works pretty seemlessly. Pros: Screen real estate, picture quality, unique features such as PIP and PBP, AMD freesync Cons: Cost (although not too bad when you consider it replaces 2 monitors), activating PIP and PBP could be a little easier Take home - a beautiful-looking multitasking monitor with a brilliant picture. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning Monitor My new Samsung screen monitor has been a game changer. Not only for my work productivity but also for my eyesight. Everything is ready to go,right out of the box. I went from having two monitors to One, and I don’t miss a thing. I work with different databases and the screen split option is perfect and functional. I can also view more of the documents I’m working on without zooming in and out. The design Of the monitor is nice and sleek. The stand doesn’t take up a whole lot of space on my desk and I'm so grateful I no longer have a bunch of ugly cables draping across my desk. The monitors menu (JOG button) is easy to navigate, easy to reach and is also where you’ll find the eye saver settings which I highly recommend. Low blue light settings means no more ugly blue blocking glasses & No more daily headaches after working on my computer for several hours. Everyone who has walked into my office compliments the beauty and spectacular screen display this monitor gives. Highly recommend. see the before & after below [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect monitor for a developer I can finally say that I’ve found a monitor that’s perfect for my job as a web developer. I’ve used several different external monitors with my laptop, but all except this 34” Samsung SJ55W ultra-wide have missed the mark in some way. Normal 1080p monitors just couldn’t show enough on the screen, causing me to continually flip back and forth between applications. 4K monitors were super-crisp and high resolution, but the font sizes were too small to comfortably read. This Samsung’s wide screen and 3440x1440 resolution is just right and has no problem displaying my code editor and a couple of terminals and browsers on the screen at the same time. Another thing I love about this monitor is its non-reflective screen. My desk at work is directly next to a big window, and this caused big problems in the past with major glare on other monitors that had glossy panels. I’ve never had any trouble seeing my work on this Samsung’s screen, even in bright daylight. The monitor offers other features like the ability to display two video inputs/sources at the same time (side-by-side or picture-in-picture) and FreeSync capability, but I’ve yet to try them. The 75Hz refresh rate is a little higher than the 60Hz most other monitors have, and combined with it’s speedy 4ms response time, this would also make a nice gaming monitor. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with using this monitor on a daily basis at work. I’ve spent a solid month with it now and can’t imagine going back to a different monitor. My productivity has really increased now that I'm able to keep all my important applications visible at the same time. Thanks to Samsung for such a great monitor! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many Great Features To Consider First off, one can't deny the benefit and beauty of so much screen real estate. The flexibility to view 2 documents/screens side-by-side, entire webpages with minimal scrolling, or multiple inputs using PIP/PBP, makes this a versatile monitor for work or play. My primary usage is for business applications in a work-from-home setting. I connect two laptops using the dual HDMI inputs in PC mode and extend the displays. It also includes a DisplayPort and headphone input for added versatility. This gives me the equivalent of three screens to view my work. Where this monitor really shines is crisp text even with 12 pt. fonts, minimal glare, accurate color reproduction, and the eye saver mode for extended viewing comfort (reduces blue light output). Although I can't comment directly with this monitor, it does feature FreeSync (FS) too, but my graphics card does not support it. I have seen FS in action elsewhere, and it is an added bonus if you are a gamer with a compatible card. You can also use the monitor for TV viewing due to the dual HDMI inputs, and the picture quality is very good. You will need to change the setting to AV mode, and you can also adjust the aspect ratios and other settings to suit your preferences. There are a few aspects of the monitor that are not ideal for a user such as myself (work-from-home), although I suspect they would not impact most people. In the interest of transparency, I will include them in my review. As mentioned earlier, I use both inputs simultaneously throughout the day for viewing work content. When I have a need to switch to a full screen view of either of the inputs, I have to select the small jog button on the back of the monitor to change inputs. This requires it to cycle through the inputs each time until it reaches the one I want. There are no software shortcuts or hot-keys to simplify this process, and it is not uncommon for me to do this a dozen or more times a day. Not only is it a bit slow, I worry about the durability of the jog button with so much use. Also, there are no height or pan/swivel adjustments, only tilt. For me, I like to stand up periodically during the work day, so it is not at an optimal viewing angle during this scenario. The monitor is light, so it is easy to physically pivot the monitor, but then the stand moves things on your desk. Again, these are not deal-breakers, but small annoyances. Overall, I would fully recommend it to those looking for a widescreen monitor. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been waiting for a monitor like this I have been waiting for a monitor like this 2019-02-12 10:19:44 I am thrilled with the quality and detail of the screen! The extra screen real estate is amazing and allows for much easier use of Photoshop and I can open windows side by side for easy reference between apps or I can keep my playlist open will still working in my primary app. Using video editing software and being able to drag and drop my media directly from a folder into the project has streamlined my work space. The experience while watching movies isn't as beneficial as the enhancements for software as it doesn't fill the entire screen but it doesn't distract me and the image quality is sharp and precise while the colors are clean and accurate with no color banding issues. If you are a gamer, this thing will blow your socks off. The extra screen real estate really gives a cinematic feel to gaming that has to be experienced to truly understand. After playing on this monitor and going back to a 16:9 monitor makes it almost claustrophobic in feel, almost like I was missing something. Again, the colors and detail were sharp and precise. You may need to upgrade your video card to support full resolution gaming with good frame rate at high detail but you wont want to sell yourself short by cutting back on the settings so you can see the true benefits of the display. Did I mention that this thing is huge? The box was so big that my daughter though I bought a TV and it dominates my desk space and steals the show from everything else in the area. I ran some diagnostic software called monitor test to push this beast through its paces. It passed the light bleed test without any issues. There was no noticeable light bleed which I was worried about with such a large display but the lighting was consistent throughout the display. Solid colors looked even and balanced but during the gradation test it did have some banding but it is much better than on other monitors I have tested. The moire test was spot on even at the finest setting. the patterns were all clear and didn't blur or bleed into each other.During the convergence testing there was no color bleed or ghosting and there was a sharp contrast between light and dark. Text was very clear and sharp even at 6 point Arial font and was easy to read. Overall, I am very pleased with this monitor. I have been looking for a monitor of this caliber at a reasonable price point. I would recommend this especially to art and video creators. Read [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Screen Quality!! I typically work from home and utilize a dual monitor in my home office setup. My old monitor developed a large line right down the center of the screen, so I was in the market for a new monitor!! I knew I wanted a larger monitor. I figured if I'll invest in a new monitor, I should find one that is much larger. I wasn't aware of the Ultrawide monitor category, and took a look at a few of the options out there. I decided upon the Samsung QHD Ultra Wide monitor for a few reasons. With this monitor I can use two HDMI cables and connect to my laptop and get rid of both of my old monitors. The resolution is stunning and there's no sacrifice on quality when I'm using a dual screen setup. As you can see in the photos, I'm multitasking by streaming on one screen and browsing on the right side of the screen! The Picture By Picture is perfect for my needs and at 34" I don't need to zoom in on emails or other text documents. Well worth the price and I'll have the Samsung QHD Ultra Wide for a number of years! Glad I made the investment and the monitor is an excellent balance of performance, quality, resolution and price!! Great work Samsung! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pure Beauty! The Samsung UHD Ultra wide 34 inch monitor is a thing of pure beauty. A perfect size for my desk and fits well as my main monitor of my 3 monitor set up. It has a crystal clear picture and has made multitasking much easier due to the space. The screen splitting software is amazing. To have two screens up at once , gives me the options to have fewer monitors or no minimized windows. It is beautiful and seamless. I love having one half the screen as a game and the other half as social media or even the current sports event up. It is perfect for gaming, providing for more life like action than ever before. I was very easy to set up. All the buttons are easy to access and well hidden so nothing takes away from the beauty of the screen. A must have for a novice computer user all the way to an extreme gamer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Monitor So far, I am enjoying my new Samsung Ultra Wide monitor. For someone who currently has either a single or dual monitor setup this is the ideal solution. You are able to get more real estate, without the bevel that obstructs your view in the middle. The colors are excellent and you have the option to change the display to eye saver mode, which reduces the blues and helps eliminate eye strain when spending a lot of time in front of the monitor. Playing games with this monitor has been a nice improvement. Previously, I had a 3 monitor setup, where many games would only display on the center monitor, eliminating the other 2 in the process. The rich colors and response times were outstanding with significantly better contrast (3000:1) to my previous setup. I also found multitasking improved. Using the windows key to easily snap windows to the left and right sides of the screen made it easy to have 2 windows, fully expanded on the left and right of the screen. Resizing those windows was also easy, enabling me to have one application take up 2/3 of the screen while the other application took up the remaining 1/3rd of the screen. The P-in-P feature was nice too. I have a desktop which is my primary machine, and a laptop for work. The laptop is on a docking station, and I can now hook it up to the same monitor and use the picture in picture feature to see both. Overall, this was a nice improvement to what I was using. It has cleaned up the look of my desk, while still giving me plenty of desktop space to work, and play, with the size of this setup. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Everyone who has walked into my office compliments the beauty and spectacular screen display this monitor gives. Highly recommend. see the before and after below [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multitask Master From the moment I pulled it out of the box I knew it was something special about it Maybe it was just the insane size maybe it was the overall slim and simplistic look. All I knew at the time was I was excited to find out what this monitor was capable of. I got this monitor to replace 2 19” monitors which crowded my desk and did not have a great visual appeal to them maybe that had to do with the fact that they were different brands. My job in finance means I need multiple monitors or so I thought. It’s not multiple monitors I need it’s one monitor that’s capable of multitasking. That monitor is the 34” Samsung ultra-wide monitor. I am able to fit more on one screen than I ever was able to on 2 all in more clarity. Set up was simple 2 pieces to set up the stand and then connect the stand easily to the monitor itself locked into place via 1 screw. Then via 1 hdmi cable to my laptop and I was good to go. I can see entire spreadsheets with out the need to scroll left or right or up or down. I can also have email up too without the two programs interfering with each other. Going through the settings the monitor is capable of PIP which splits the screen into two so you would be the equivalent of having 2 15” monitors. I tried to set this feature up but was unable to as you need to have 2 hdmi cables and inputs. And my laptop being a few years old only had one. I do plan on trying this out though perhaps connecting to be able to watch Netflix or or cable . Yes that is multitasking at its best! And this Samsung monitor definitely lives up to the hype. I recommend this monitor to anyone who needs to work with multiple programs at once. Or wants a cleaner set up than having to have a couple of bulky monitors on your desk. Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Ideal Display for Both Work and Games I'm a programmer, and work back and forth between a lot of applications, so monitor real estate is very important to me. Previously I've used 2 27" 4k monitors, but the new Samsung 34" widescreen SJ55W really fits the bill. Initially I was hesitant the resolution (WQHD 3440x1440) would not compare to 4k (3840x2160), but my concerns were quickly put to rest. I was able to use 3 windows side by side comfortably, as well as a 2/3, 1/3 configuration for applications that could use more real estate. PBP (picture by picture) allows you to easily hook up a laptop to the monitor and to split the screen space with another source, providing a flexible option without having to resort to laptop docks/separate monitors. In addition to work, the SJ55W is also a great for video games. the 21:9 aspect ratio gives you a huge range of view on first person shooters. The colors are sharp and vibrant, and the black levels are really good. The 75hz refresh rate is an added bonus, usually not found at this price range. In summary, the Samsung SJ55W is a great monitor for both work and gaming. You may think you're losing some pixels due to WQHD vs 4k, but you're gaining a lot more in usable real estate. Pros - WQHD wide screen - Slim form factor - PBP and PIP - 75hz refresh rate Cons - No Thunderbolt support - VESA mounting holes are not centered, some people may have issues with existing mounting options [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
