Great picture if you know how to adjust it!
I’ve had this tv for a couple of months and haven’t been able to get the picture adjusted and have tried everything all the online help from Samsung every YouTube video. The live picture is “ok” but video is not clear and older videos are really blurry. The picture is nowhere near as good as the 9 year old Vizio M that this one replaced perhaps I will pay a professional to come to my home and adjust the picture

Great TV; Remote is Terrible.
Overall, this TV has a great picture and seems to fit my needs. I would have given it 5 stars, had it not been for the remote. Needs to have buttons for fast forward & rewind, added. This remote makes it VERY awkward to fast forward/rewind recorded content. I still use my firestick to access this content, which means using 2 different remotes!

Beautiful clear picture
I bought the Q80D qled 55" TV & the picture quality is great. I also purchase a D600 sound bar to unlock the Q-symphony, really enhances the sound. The only con was I purchased this through Best Buy's outlet center & was canceled due to not being in stocks. I ended up paying full price.

Don’t touch that dial or any other setting
This is my second Samsung LED TV. My first one worked perfectly those years until a power surge. This TV has user setting problems confirmed by an internet search,
First: Intermittently when first turned on, the picture is stuck in a small square in the upper left corner. Turning the TV off then back on resolves this problem.
Second: Using the “Settings” button to adjust the brightness has little to no effect on the brightness. To get the expected response to the brightness number, I need to go to the main home menu then exit for the adjustment to take affect.
Third: Pressing the main menu home button stops the picture and sound, shows all optional settings, and it’s not obvious what menu is going to be adjusted until you start using the direction keys.
Fourth: All but the “Standard” picture mode presents a picture that won’t reproduce skin tones that are real. Even then, some “red” colors flash when moving in the video (eg. auto brake lights when the camera is panning).
Fifth: When turning on the TV in a dark or low light room, the picture flashes a blinding white light for a second.
Sixth: The brightness level is barely adjustable and too bright in the darkest room.

It's amazing when it comes to family nights or Christmas and holiday movies to watch with friends the quality is just crisp and clear, if added with samsung sound bar it's a whole theater, would truly recommend this for anyone wanting to purchase a TV

I love this tv, the picture quality is fantastic the sound quality is pretty good for tv speakers, connects to Bluetooth great. Although sometimes randomly disconnects from wifi. Never have received an update.

What an unbelievable nightmare!
Delivered our TV yesterday. The setup went fairly simple until I tried to add two new apps to the home menu. It doesn't do it the way our old, two-year-old Samsung TV did it which was really simple, so I called customer support. Hours on the phone with a lady in support tech who knew even less than I did about this model. Wasted all that time before she contacted a supervisor who told her how to do it which was much different. New TV also will not update. It gets to 81% than freezes and then says update failed. Performed this update many times and with the same result. Let tech support access my tv where she bumbled around for another hour than says she need to do a reset in smart things. Well, that wiped out all my usernames and passwords from ALL of my apps and had to start from the beginning again because the TV now couldn't download saved info from the old Samsung TV this time so I had to input it all over again which took another hour and it still will not complete an update! So it can't complete an update and while watching the TV last night every four to seven minutes the audio disappears for 1-3 seconds. On the phone again with tech support and there asking me to do the same dam thing they asked me to do again. Over and over again, it's like trying to beat a dead horse. So last tech sends me over to the return department and you have to tell them the whole story again and since her system does not show the TV as delivered, she can't process a return yet and wanted me to talk to another rep from Samsung Care because I bought the extended warranty. He can't do anything because this TV is under manufactures warranty so he's switching me back to the return department and who do you think answers the phone, Tech Support! It's like starting the whole process all over again but now this one wants to blame my internet. Told her I wasn't going there because my internet fantastic. So now my brand new TV is now going to be taken apart some flunky just to be told "there's something wrong with it" and since both my wife and I are in our 60's and I'm disabled we can't get this dam thing back in the box and Samsung, who sold us this lemon, won't bring a new one out to us and take the old one back, We now have no choice but to wait for a flunky to come out and try to fix this piece of JUNK! Much more to our nightmare but too exhausted to explain it. Buyer beware!

Simply Stunning!
I've been shopping for a new TV for a while now and decided on the Q80D. It arrived early this afternoon and I am very impressed.
The picture is incredible and set up was a breeze. I chose to set up by my phone and it was a simple and smooth process.
I am very impressed by features that I didn't think I would care about. Most notably, Multi View. It is actually useful and not just gimmicky.
I will definitely recommend this TV to friends and family the next time I'm asked for a recommendation!
(If I discover any issues or annoyances - none so far - I will update this review.)

We are so excited that we made the choice to purchase the 55" Class QLED 4K Q80D the picture quality is oustanding and the 40 watt tv speakers are awesome. The Dolby Atmos gives the tv speakers a true surround sound.Set up was easy! From the purchase on line to the delivery of the product customer service was excellent. Samsung will be the tv of our choice in the future!

This TV is OK, for display purposes. It has acceptable color. The sound emanating from the speakers is also nice. For the price point comparative to other Smart TVs, it is a horrible SmartTV.
The UI is absolutely horrible. It comes loaded with bloatware and the internal storage is non-expandable and even with ALL the junk and preinstalled apps offloaded, it only has ~2GB of free space for your apps. Further, the UI for TizenOS is just one giant big ad screen. The amount of remote presses it takes to get anywhere USEFUL like a settings menu, your apps, is in the middle of a bunch of big advertisements.
The TV wants you to be connected to Wi-Fi at all times. If you disconnect Wi-Fi, it will sometimes automatically re-connect on reboot. A LOT of features are disabled when you do not have it connected to Wi-Fi. Also, the screen dims intermittently even with intelligent features disabled.
This is an example of a mid-range TV that is absolutely ruined by it's operating system and telemetry. All the applications built for Tizen are slow and unresponsive. The TV has significant input lag, and it not fast or streamlined at all. There is no dedicated input button on the samsung remote. Look at all the reviews for this TV, they are almost all sponsored or rewarded reviews. That's how badly Samsung needs to manipulate the data to sell this TV. Stay away at all costs.
This is not worth the price whatsoever. I will be returning this TV, and will never buy another Samsung product or appliance ever again.

Do not buy this item online. It can be a very nice product if you receive it. It is not worth the trouble. Find a local store that carries the TV. Trust me. You do not want to be a in position that you are unable to find anyone to tell where and when the product will be delivered. Took off from work to stay home for delivery after multiple delivery notifications. Now, I have no TV and there delivery tracking system has no up-to-date information. Very much like a bate-and-switch trick to lure you to purchase. I assure your that you won't find any helpful assistance once you place your order and pay for it.

Not happy that I can not operate the tv without a manual. I am not a wiz kid. Called for a manual and have not received it as yet. Whenever I turn on the tv I have to go to home ,devices and scroll to cable input. If I'm too slow, the tv goes black but does not turn off.

Although the tv looks good and the images are great, the sound and instructions are terrible. Guide and scheduler do not make any sense. I have a very hard time to try to use them. Great TV, Annoying problem
Th TV is great, but why on earth does Samsung not fix the issue of the TV auto-running apps. It will NOT stop automatically turning on my game consoles. I've tried everything and read every singel Reddit post, and it never works. There is a setting that says "Turn on/off Auto-run apps" and when you turn it off, it runs them anyways. Not sure why this issue has been around for so long and why it is so hard for Samsung to fix.

Purchased 55" Samsung from ABT. Love ABT! I love the picture quality and Samsung plus channels. I cannot control the sound. I know you have a special feature, but when it has music, it makes increase, and I have physical turn volume down. We have tried to reset audio through setting, and sound is still crazy. And if it is too loud, audio becomes fuzzy.

Great TV but mounting was an issue.
We have the TV mounted on a wall about 20 feet from out bed. The image is clear and the apps are simple to access. We have the TV hooked to a soundbar, and that has had issues (e.g. the software as delivered needs an update and the bar needed repair. So make sure you have warrantee service. also Samsung installer would not handle the soundbar so we got a third party to mount the TV and soundbar. Don't pay Samsung for it, they did not deliver as expected and would not return the money. But all things considered we are happy with our choice.

Great TV, poor remote
I purchased for a larger size bedroom. Picture on this model is beautifully clear. Best of the 3 Samsungs I currently have in my house.
The absolute one thing I despise with all the Samsung TVs are the remotes - they are the worst! I would have dropped rating down if wasn’t for excellent picture quality. Samsung, please make a larger more efficient controller.

Great features on this cable ready Smart TV
I bought my 55 inch Samsung a month ago, and since it was only one left, they put it on hold for me and I drove to the next city and picked it up. It was waiting for me. I did not have to get out of the car. It was super easy. I have a technology guy who met me at my house and installed it and within a half an hour he was up and running. Couldn’t be happier.

Excellent picture.
My previous Samsung TV I believe had a great picture. It was 7 years old and was on 16 plus hours a day. I had an accident plugging in a ambience USB led light which shorted out the TV.
My new TV's picture is stunning. The remote control is difficult to operate. It uses pictures instead of words explaining the function. I get confused and have difficulty getting out of the menu.
But I do love my television .

Outstanding television
I love my Samsung TV. Bought my first in 2013 & was really reluctant to give it up as there was nothing wrong with it. Picture clarity & color was outstanding. Audio was fantastic as long as I had it going through a home theater setup.
But 4K & QLED came along so eventually had to upgrade. I had a Samsung phone, tablet, & laptop and very happy with the performance in everything. So a price came along with this new model that I couldn't refuse & bought it. Not a single regret, this TV is outstanding. Simple to set up, intuitive controls, and I've enjoyed it since day one. Friends that come over can't believe the quality. I'm sure I'm not even using half the features available but I'm very satisfied with what it does.
With every Samsung product I've purchased I could easily become a Samsung advocate. The TV is top notch and I'll hang onto this one until it no longer works. Same with the laptop & tablet. Honestly, I've never wholeheartedly endorsed a brand before but everything has been fantastic, the price has been worth it and I see no need to ever purchase another brand in the future. Thank you for an entire line of enhanced performance products!

Nice TV for the Price, But...
I'm older, but I've *always* been a "manual" guy. I want to read my instructions and not have to be intuitive on trying to figure out my remote.
That's one of the issues I have with most products these days, saving paper in the interests of "saving the planet" (don't get me started on that...), but I digress.
I/We haven't been able to fine tune the picture on this set, which is supposed to be steps above the crystal display. That's my/our main frustration with the set.
The size is virtually perfect for our viewing space. We enjoy the free channels Samsung provides. Picture quality and variations between sources and channels -- all allegedly high-quality resolution -- is frustrating. I wish there was a simple way to equalize these settings. Even a Samsung-produced video on subjects like this would be helpful (if you won't give me my 'stinkin' manual,' that is).
Back to that remote, my larger fingers frequently hit one of the proprietary buttons below the volume bar, switching away from what we're watching and requiring a less-than-instantaneous scramble to return to what we were watching (typically at a critical moment, of course).
Typically like and appreciate the Samsung line. Picture quality is frustrating. Searching for a solution is frustrating. The remote is a little bit too tiny. Would appreciate a written manual. Other than that, we're happy.

This is a great mid tier television....recently purchased for our bedroom and it was miles above our previous Samsung tv. Great for all aspects of entertainment as well....games look beautiful and HDR content is crisp and bright. This thing is packed with smart features as well....integrates well with SmartThings. Worst motherboard
The motherboard failed shortly after one year of use, just as the warranty period ended. For a premium television, this kind of critical hardware failure is unacceptable and extremely disappointing.
A product at this price point is expected to last far longer without major issues. The repair cost is high, and post-warranty support offers little assistance, leaving the customer to bear the full expense.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend Samsung QLED TVs and advise potential buyers to consider alternatives with stronger reliability and after-sales support.
