Worked for a few months, then died
yesterday, i plugged in my drive, and it appeared on my desktop. i pulled up the samsungportablessd app, and it said, "no samsung portablessd is connected." nothing loads other than the x5_setup read-only partition.
it also seems to get very hot. now i'm stuck on hold with tech support.

Defective, DOA 2TB PSSD X5 delivered
received a defective 2tb samsung portable ssd x5.
i was so happy to receive the x5 but it wasn't recognized when plugged in to my updated msi gt76 titan 4k notebook's thunderbolt 3 port in updated windows 10 pro os. even the samsung portable ssd software continuously prompted to plug in the x5 despite it already being plugged in with it's front drive light on solid white the entire time. samsung tech support confirmed it was a defective x5 & samsung sales support emailed my return label. i'll update/change this current 1 star review after i order & receive a new, fully functioning 2tb samsung portable ssd x5 thunderbolt 3. as of now, i'm very disappointed due to receiving a 2tb x5 that was doa.

My Go To Drive
I have had this drive for a few years now and cannot be more pleased with it. The size, versatility, functionality, speed, etc. i even have it slaved to my MacBook with no problems at all. Great product, couldn't be happier
