It has a security code to unlock it so you can put your secure files on it or important pictures, videos, etc. It's easy to use just plug it in and install the t7 setup and it walks you through setting it up. It keeps your memory on my laptop clear so it runs faster and don't have to worry about viruses on my computer. Overall everything i expected and then some. A+++ RATINGS.

I accidentally got it wet and saw the dreaded red light, I left it out to dry and came back and it worked though. It is so small and fits in your pocket. The speeds are insanely fast and it still to this day holds my mission critical files.

It's comparably faster writing large files to it compared to my T5 512GB SSD drive. Roughly same size and very compact to carry with you. Both versions I have are made in Korea. It is small enough to always have with me as i work on the road. But I soon found out that it is much more capable. Now that I have a gaming laptop, I found that it is fast enough to install the games straight to the SSD and not clog up my laptop's storage. I would definitely recommend this SSD, as well as the other Samsung brand storage I have used. Top tier products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blazing fast SSD & value for money To be frank product is so good but if you are really looking for value for money then can consider the old generation as its maxed out at around 700-780mbps and although 500mbps in most work is kore than enough. System i tested this on is macbook m1 thunderbolt port and msi laptop the speed is good but there are some major cons also Pros: 1. Speed is good 2. Light weight 3. Super small and easy to carry 4. Best customer service and can be used as a live boot for windows(works awesome without any lag) Cons: 1. Little costly (because thunderbolts standard) 2. In my case doesn't archived 1050mbps advertised speed 3. Its heats a lot when in big transfer occurring (i mean really hot around 60-70 degree celcius) 4. Wont suitable for everyone like if you know why are you buying this high then only worth otherwise a simple ssd. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Samsung SSD T7 Talk about amazing right out of the box. The Samsung T7 SSD is lightweight, extremely portable, and easy to work with. I have been using the Samsung SSD pretty much every day to save all my kids photos, videos and any other documents that may I need. The Samsung SSD is so versatile that it has pretty much eliminated the need for me to use a laptop to transfer what I need to and from my phone to the SSD. I just plug the SSD in to my Samsung Note 10+ and move everything over to the hard drive, that way I keep all my stuff secure and my phone memory empty and when I need to access my stuff I can plug it into either my phone, my Samsung TV or if I really need to edit something I can just plug and play into my laptop. The setup process is extremely simple and anyone can pretty much use this right out of the box. This is truly a plug and play hard drive. The transfer speed to and from the hard drive are lightning fast, although some larger files do take a bit longer depending on the size but it is definitely faster than your conventional hard drive. The Samsung SSD is truly an amazing little piece of technology. The SSD is about the size of a credit card so I am able to carry it anywhere with me and another amazing feature that I noticed on the Samsung T7 is that it does not heat up like your conventional hard drives due to Samsung’s new built in thermal control feature. My other portable hard drive that I still have and still use sometimes starts to heat up after using it for a bit, but not the Samsung T7. Love my Samsung T7 SSD.

I love the password security feature which puts me at ease with the sensitive information that I like to keep on the drive. The small card size design is amazing and it doesnt heat up making it optimal for long sessions. The device loads fast and the file transfers are extremely fast. Having connectivity via usb-c and usb-a makes this perfect for moving information between my two computers. The blue color is also an amazing look.

It is about the size of a credit card and half the thickness of my phone. I love that it came with both a USB "c to c" and a "c to a" cable. I can easily carry the drive in my pocket to use on the go with my cell phone or tablet. I transferred movies from my tablet to the hard drive very quickly. A 2gb movie took about 10 seconds to transfer.

There's the actual storage device that is thin and smaller than my hand, 2 cords that can connect C to C and C to A. I thought maybe it needed charged before hand so I plugged it in. I couldnt find in the quick start quide if it needed to be or not. When I plughed the C cord into my Android phone, a tab dropped down to connect my files. It brings you to all the files in your device that you want to transfer. There are also other files already preloaded on the Portable SSD that is useful as well. It tells you how to make a password to protect your items, an app you can download, and a how to use the device. This SSD T7 is seriously the easiest thing to use!!! I transfered over 4000 pictures and videos in under 5min. This would be such a time saver for important work documents!! There is a 3 year warranty on it as well. Also drop resistant up to 2 meters! I do wish it came with a case however. I'd hate for the port to get damaged somehow. The Samsung SSD T7 is compatible with Windows, Mac, Android. There is also a built in thermal control. While I did have it on the couch with me, it got a little warm to the touch. Nothing too hot though. I know my documents are protected within this!!

The SSD is also very light weight, portable literally the size of a credit card. My wife now carries the SSD with her to share her photos and videos with family and friends and not use up space in her phone.

Samsung has always been strong in this area and that is one of the reasons why I trusted this portable drive. Right out of the box it has a clean and quality look. It’s simple and elegant. The packaging is straightforward and it comes with two different cables. I really enjoy the blue aluminum look and the feel of it. Now getting into the performance side of things it’s fast! I’ve owned a few different external drives as well as thumb drives and have experienced delays when transferring large files. I had my doubts so I put this little guy to test. I was able to transfer roughly 50 GB of data to the hard drive in about 15 minutes. Now I wasn’t using a USB three connection on my computer as it is a little bit older I was also transferring from another extra hard drive. That speed impressed me given the circumstances. Transferring files right from my computer to the hard drive was seem less. They transferred in almost no time. I do a lot of presentations for my workplace and this has come in handy to have on the go and throw in my bag. The compact size makes a total difference. It’s a little bit bigger than a business card in about as thick as a candy bar. I was able to store movies photos presentations and documentations all with ease. I trust Samsung to keep a lot of my personal documents backed up on the drive. The software was a breeze to install on the computer and it even comes with an app for any mobile devices. When it comes down to speed reliability design and quality Samsung did not cut corners with these drives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Samsung - Hit it out of the park I will preface this review by saying that as a videographer, I thank my storage seriously. Once I received the drive, I immediately plugged it in to perform some necessary tests. The drive surprised me with its performance, especially with it being so compact. I begin to add the drive into my real-world workflow offloaded HD and 4K footage, and the transfer rates were impressive. I did notice the top performance appears to require USB-C, but the performance I received on my MacBook Pro using a standard USB 3.1 Type-A port was also impressive. In summary, the Drive was easy to set-up on both my MacOS and Windows 10 devices. It is sleek and fits into my camera bag without taking much space, it appears to be pretty durable, it’s cool to the touch and the reputation of the Samsung name behind it has this drive as a pure winner in my book. My only regret is that I didn't get an opportunity to purchase a larger size but I will surely be buying a second drive to go along with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superfast, powerful all in tha palm of my hand. For years I have been trying to find a solution of not having to carry around multiple or bulky memory devices. It's literally smaller than my wallet. It was a breeze to set up and now I feel so secure if I misplace. Aluminum case is sturdy and won't crack or damage from a small drop like some of my others I've purchased in the past. I was able to bring my workload home without having to lug the different devices I use there and still have my downloaded PS4 games loaded with tons more space still available. The speed loaded at the same rate from first file to file 247 I currently have loaded. I would definitely recommend and will be purchasing one for my son as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect SSD solution for any device The Samsung T7 was the perfect fit for my PC & Gaming console. Design: The T7 that I tested is the 2TB model. It is packed into a small metal body that is not much bigger than a standard USB flash drive in length and thickness. It has one USB-C port and feels very solidly built. It feels like it can take a lot of knocking around without suffering any ill effects. Ease of Use: The T7 is plug and play with my computer and PS4 console, just use the included cables for USB-C or USB 3.0 connection and you need do nothing more. No driver needed to be installed or downloaded for it to work on my Windows PC or PS4 console. It is very easy to use. PC Performance: I connected the T7 to my PC via the included USB-C cable and the drive was detected instantly on my Windows 10 computer. It came with a program on the drive that you can install to get firmware updates along with other management tools such as password protection and so on. I tested the speed by moving files of all sizes around and even GBs of file instantly from my internal SSD to this drive. It feels like you are working with an internal SSD or NVME which is amazing for an external drive. This is a great addition to any computer whether you need it to expand your storage, or maybe play games from it or to transfer files between machines as well. PS4 Performance: I connected the T7 to my PS4 via the included USB-C to USB-A cable and once and it was detected instantly. The PS4 told me I had to format the drive in order to use it on there. It takes only one press on the controller and a few moments later it was now a part of the PS4 and called "extended storage." After that all new games you install will be installed on the T7 and you can move games from your internal drive to the SSD as well. I tested speed by first loading a game from the internal PS4 drive and then moved the game over to the T7 and loaded the game up and it booted up much quicker from the T7. So this is a great expansion to your console storage capacity and also boost performance of your games greatly when used in conjunction with a video game console. Conclusion: I see this SSD drive as the perfect expansion to any computer or gaming console. You get a huge boost in capacity with the 2TB version combined with speeds that feel like you are using an internal high speed SSD device. You cannot ask for more form an external hard drive right now. It is small in size, but big in capacity and performance.

The obvious cool thing about this drive is the size. Its small and thin and can even fit in my wallet if I wanted to because it has the length and width profile of a credit card. Granted, it is a little wider than its predecessor the T5 but the difference does not affect its portability. Note that it is also thinner than the T5.Even along with the included cables it fits into any pocket without being conspicuous. This makes it very easy to travel with and use on the go. The include cables are a huge plus for me because it helps the drive deliver on performance. True almost everything is USB C now and most people have cables they can use with it, but I found that using the included cables gives a slight boost in performance. The performance of this drive is amazing. Its read and write times were almost twice as fast as the T5 which was already plenty fast. The software utility included is intuitive and easy to use. It allows for either a password or a pin which also adds to its ease of use and portability. Whether I am connected to my phone, tablet or computer it is comforting to know that my files are secure and cannot be altered without my permission. The price is also very reasonable considering the protection you get. i got the 2TB which might be overkill for most but it comes in 500GB and 1TB also. It has been worth the investment for me because I know that even if I misplace it, my intellectual property and personal items will still be protected since it will only open as a read-only drive without the password. To sum up, its sleek, fast and secure and also a must have for anyone with any digital information to protect.

It will fit in that tiny jeans pocket, not that I would recommend that! Incredibly Fast. With the included USB-C to USB-C cable, this drive has amazing read and write speeds. It has market leading performance. A USB-A to USB C Cable is also included in the box for those with older computers. Incredibly Powerful. The included management software from Samsung will guide you when it comes to encrypting your data to keep it safe from local physical access from others. Incredibly Versatile. The 2TB option is enough for me to feel future proofed for several years of data, photo, video and audio backups locally as well as transporting files from location to location.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Perfect Portable Storage Device I've been a fan of Samsung's portable SSDs ever since I got my first 256GB T3 drive 4 years ago. I must say, the T7 is a great upgrade. The size of the unit is roughly the size of a credit card and only 8mm thin making it so easy to slide into a pocket of your clothing or bag and take it anywhere. The built-in hardware encryption is a great feature. There is even a read-only partition on the drive that includes the installation software for when you need to access the drive on a new computer. My own personal speed tests gave 1004.6 MB/s read and 915.93 MB/s write (Blazing fast!!). The NVMe technology has certainly given this drive a leg up over the older Samsung models. The SSD also stayed cool during even extended transfer sessions. Would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design and well made The Samsung Portable SSD T7 comes in a small box and right out of the box the body of the T7 is smooth, light and very compact. I took out a business card and it is just about the same size, 57mm by 85mm and 8 mm thin. On one side the USB-C connection is next to a LED light, easy to connect to mac, windows pc or android phone. The software was easy and fast to install since the drive comes with it. I like the password protection; it gives me a peace of mind if I were to misplace it. I also like that it is shock resistance and it does not make any noise. The one I got is Titan Gray but there are Indigo Blue and Metallic Red to consider. Almost forgot, something that you will not notice and it is great that you do not is the temperature of the T7, due to the heat control it does not overheat, there is no vent, fan or sound that comes out of it to cool it down and still stays at a good temperature so the Thermal Control does work. Just Awesome. I edit videos and photos and 1 TB is plenty of storage to have what I need at all times so I am enjoying the flexibility to have what I want when I want it. Great design and well made.

The encryption is nice. I like the security knowing that if I lose the drive I dont have to worry about the data on it. It fits in my backpack with my laptop and goes everywhere it does. I will say this. I would like to see a different finish on the drive that has a little stick to it. thats the only thing that comes to mind that needs improvement. love this little drive. 1 TB also :) an updae after I have been able to use the drive for a little bit. its fast, it doesnt get hot. the thermal control feature works well on this drive. I can leave in on my lap and it barely gets warm.

For this small size, with a big storage, I believe I'm set to utilize this tool for my school needs. Great product! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super-Compact Super Drive! The T7 is a USB 3.2 (Gen2) drive that is super light and super small. It is swift (10Gbps), assuming you have a compatible USB 3.2 port. It is roughly the size of a credit card and fits almost anywhere! It features password security that encrypts the drive and keeps the contents safe, so it is perfect if you have sensitive or confidential data, or work in an environment where data must be protected. I work in the government healthcare field, so this drive is a must. The drive offers 256bit AES hardware encryption. The only downside to the password protection (and the reason for my 4-star review instead of five) is that it requires Samsung's software to be installed on the computer you are using to access this drive. In other words, the hardware encryption is dependent on software to enter the password to decrypt the drive. This software requirement severely limits where you can use the drive, and requires you to have administrative rights on every computer to install the software. Without the software, the drive will not unlock. Likewise, if you forget your password, there is no way to recover it, and the data on the drive is lost. These two downsides are the only negative to an otherwise almost perfect USB drive. If Samsung could figure out a way to build the password protection into the hardware of the device, bypassing the software unlocking, it would be perfect. Samsung offers the same drive with a fingerprint reader that is hardware-based and does unlock the drive without the need for the software (other than initial device setup). In any event, the non-touch version of the T7 is excellent if you only plan to use the drive on computers that you own. For the price, you get a high-speed drive plus data protection. Other comparable devices cost about the same but don't offer the data security that the T7 does. Speedwise, short data transfers are amazingly fast on the T7. In fact, it blows the T5 model out of the water. On larger file transfers, things start to equalize between the T7 and T5 as the write speeds on the T7 slow after the device exceeds its cache. The drive comes in different sizes to meet your needs, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. The drive comes with two USB cables: a C-C and an A-C. If you need a fast, secure drive for personal or business storage, you can't go wrong with the T7. If you plan to travel with the drive, you should consider the T7 touch model.

The device is very user-friendly, as you simply plug in the UBS cord to the computer and portable hard drive. I used the portable drive to back up my entire computer, and I used less than 30% of the available space on the drive. Bottom line: this device is easy to use, functional, has a lot of capacity, and copies folders and files relatively quickly. Samsung could have provided a sleeve or case to protect the portable harddrive.

(Seriously) Most of people would not need more explanation beside it's from Samsung. That is the reputation of Samsung's quality on SSD drives for many years. For the last couple of years, Samsung's T5 has been considered to be the best portable SSD without a doubt. T7 takes the crown from T5 for several reasons. Also I had a high hope for the new Samsung T7, and it does not disappoint. Here's why: - Speed: It is FAST; On Windows 10 PC via USB 3.2 Gen2 port, I get 980MB read, 910MB write (sequential). On my Macbook Pro via Thunderbolt3 port, I get 880MB read, and 810MB write. It takes less than 10 seconds to transfer my 8GB 4K video into T7; Impressive performance. - Portability: it is exactly same size as credit card, and weighs almost nothing. (feel like 2oz on my hand) - Hardware encryption: T7 has secure mode with password protection; software to enable/disable security is easy and straightforward to use. I would highly recommend Samsung T7 to anyone needs portable storage device.

It comes with both usb c to usb c wire and usb a to usb c, no need for an extra power cord. The memory device is small, about the same size as a business card; it is also thin and very light. It is very easy to carry around in a pocket, small purse, backpack, etc. It is very easy to open with the laptop or computer and bring back and forth. 1tb of memory is plenty of storage to store away videos, pictures, large and small files my computer has 1tb but most of it is used by now so this external memory has come in very useful. Setting up the password was easy and if you do not have the password you cannot get into the T7, keeping everything safe in case you misplace it. It does not make any noise at all, quiet, and do not even know it is there. And I really enjoy that It does not get hot at all, it is always cool even while using for an extended amount of time. You can access from phone computer and as long as you have the password then it is accessible. Performs great, very nice design, compact and amazing.

It even comes with two cables to plug into with a standard USB to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C. All you have to do is plug it in and run the software install file that pops up. Setup even let's you encrypt the drive for privacy or you can leave it off if you wish. Deciding if you want to encrypt or not is the hardest part of setup and use. Samsung has done it again! The drive doesn't get too hot and maintains its speed without over heating because of its thermal control feature it has. The T7 is very compact and lightweight for easy transport and it won't take up too much storage space in your case.

It even comes with two cables to plug into with a standard USB to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C. All you have to do is plug it in and run the software install file that pops up. Setup even let's you encrypt the drive for privacy or you can leave it off if you wish. Deciding if you want to encrypt or not is the hardest part of setup and use. Samsung has done it again! The T7 is very compact and lightweight for easy transport and it won't take up too much storage space in your case.

It is very slim, light weight and dimensions are almost the size of a credit card. It has a light weight aluminum case, the grey color looks very premium and the SSD feels sturdy in the hand. It is very helpful that the SSD comes with 2 cables : USB type C-C and type C-A. Due to those cables, I was able to connect to my Windows laptop, MacBook Air and my Samsung Note 10+. The set up was super easy, connectivity was super fast and the laptops/ phone recognized my SSD instantly. I had to download the Samsung SSD magician software . The software helps to optimize the use of the SSD. It can detect potential failures and correct them in advance. It also provides an overall view of the health of the device including storage and temperature controls. The SSD is noiseless when its connected to the laptop. It has a blue led light that indicates that its connected to your device. Even though the devices recognized my SSD instantly, the SSD app was not able to connect to either the phone or the tablet. I tried multiple times but the app still does not recognize the devices. I think Samsung will have to update the app to fix this problem. However, I was able to copy/paste and drag/drop photos, music, videos etc of all sizes into the SSD and they took just seconds to get transferred. The T7 SSD thermal control was great even after weeks of use. The T7 SSD remained cool and never felt warm even after continuous use Or while transferring large videos. The T7 SSD always felt like an integral part of the devices it was connected to. Overall a highly efficient, reliable and durable SSD that does exactly what its meant for......store data securely!

First off, it’s incredibly compact. It’s about three-quarters the size of a credit card and just two credit cards thick. It’s so light and portable that I often forget it’s even in my pocket, sometimes thinking I’ve lost it because it’s so unobtrusive. Despite its small size, it’s a powerhouse internally. With storage options up to 4TB, it can handle anything I throw at it. The speed is astonishing—it transfers hundreds of gigabytes in just a couple of minutes (depending on the device I’m using). For those who value security, there’s even a version with a built-in fingerprint reader for added peace of mind. What impresses me the most is its reliability. The T7 has never failed to connect instantly with any device I’ve used it with, and I’ve never lost or corrupted a single file, even when it was accidentally unplugged during a transfer. It’s also extremely durable. I work in construction, so this SSD gets knocked around pretty hard sometimes, but it’s held up flawlessly through it all. Simply put, I love this device. It's so nice to have a 1TB extra space since I have a lot of files for my college. I liked the 1TB memory space so much that I'm considering buying the galaxy book 5 (since it has the 1TB memory space). I also liked how light weight and slim it is. The ssd is so easy to carry around. I didn't want anything heavy since I have to walk everyday, but the ssd doesn't even take up any space in my bag and you can't even feel the weight.

Though it’s not very straightforward on how to get rid of some of your pre-existing back ups. It really is false advertising by Samsung to say that this drive works with a Mac - because it doesn't.

Had to go into the softwareand find a setup file myself, but then no instructions on how to use it for backups. The packaging gave a tel. number to call to help with set up and use but when I used it, it was no longer in service. Online was horrible and even tech support was useless. I returned it and bought a Seagate with double the memory for half the price on some other website and it's been great. It was virtually impossible to speak to a human being on the Dell 800 number. They used to be good and I've bought many things from them. Not anymore.

They just sit there, perform, quietly with no noise or vibration. Setting up for Mac required reformatting which was easy to do. I also bought 2 of the 2 TB for backing up, which also perform very nicely. I love the fact they have no moving parts, and are very small, the size of a thick credit card. And they came with both USB and USB-C cables.

I have a 1TB SSD so I wanted a good sized external SSD to make regular backup copies of all files. This drive has very high read/write speeds making full backup in only a few minutes. I figured I'd be more likely to do them regularly if I had a fast drive. This certainly fills the bill. I'm very satisfied. The drive also has a very small form factor and comes with two cables USB-A and USB-C so it really has everything you need.

My only negative is they need to provide a 4TB portable drive. Love the performance and the portability. I can carry 4TB in one pocket and not worry about data damage.

This SSD is substantially smaller than my phone or wallet making it extremely easy to transport. I love it’s small physical size and it’s large storage size, but my favorite feature is how fast it is. It’s faster than some internal SSDs making it much better for games. I have the one terabyte version of the t7, and I share it between my entire family. Between the use of all of my family members, this storage unit has been able to store all of our photos, and be durable enough to withstand any sort of situation we put it in so far. This portable storage device has been amazing in terms of storing photos from our Samsung devices, and from storing photos and videos from our professional cameras. I've been big into using Mainsgate for Auxillary Keys at church, and after a long time I began running out if space on my Macbook, and through the recommendations of others I biut the unit to store my sound samples and bank presets. This was a big help and what was a plus was just how fast the unit registers and reads on my macbook. The efficiency of pulling sound and files from the unit has been way faster than any other hard drive I've had before and I'll definitely be buying this product again in the future. It looks like the unit i received to formatted for "RAW" not NTFS which is needed for all windows computers. I have spent 3 hours trying to reformat to NTFS with no success. I have used system 32 /disk part/ list disk/ select disk/ list volume/ format fs ntfs quick/ ect. Will not format; encounter error! I quit and will be requesting refund for defective T7 SSD. My computer recognizes that the drive is connected. Unit was purchased December 5, 2024, through Amazon.

My only comment is that despite the fact that the ExFat default formatting will technically work on a Mac, in reality many applications do not like it and it can cause issues. Unless you have a need to use it on both a Mac and Windows machine and/or Android device I recommend just immediately reformatting to APFS using Disk Utility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 months in: Device failure this week, 5 months after getting this device - i keep getting an error message -"usb device not recognized, windows does not recognize it." red flashing light on the hd as well. tried to look up solutions, but found none. contacted chat, 1st person had no ideas, second person had no ideas other than to put in a service ticket. tried to put in service ticket, but received an error message multiple times. the ssd has been in a well-ventilated place& not moved since i initially plugged it in to my desktop. now it does not work with and of the 3 computers i've tried plugging it into. honestly, before this week, this device would have been 5 stars in all categories, but now? broken after less than half a year & no support? it's not a good look.

And this drive is so light and portable that it fits any shirt or pant pocket when we are on the go. As long as you can find the room for the cable, a drive cannot be much more portable than this. Be sure to download the Samsung Magician software, by the way, when using this or any Samsung SSD.

Unable to use it. Contacted Samsung customer service, spent several hours on the phone, totally useless! Waste of $$$!!!

I can work and unload my phone as much as I need to free up new space and I seem to never get close to running out after hundreds of videos and thousands of pictures. Sometimes I forget to unload before we head out of town, but this little guy is super slim and fits in my laptop bag unnoticeable to use when I need it. I ignored this and just two weeks ago it stop mounting on to my MacBook . I have sent in to data retriever and was quoted upwards to 2000 USD . Contacted Samsung after sales since the warranty was still valid . Dismissed right away with no help to retrieve the data.

I'm a photographer so digital storage is a must, and having 1 TB will hold me over for a bit. Having a device that is portable is a definite bonus. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A complete waste of money!!! I bought two T7's (1gb) on sale and didn't use either for a year. One blue, and one red model. Both worked fine to download until I attempted to reorganize the files on the red one. I started reorganizing the red drive for an hour then had lunch. I live alone so I left the computer and everything on and open. For unknown reasons however the SSD wasn't up on the screen in the files where it should appear. When I opened the settings I could see the SSD icon so I clicked on it and was prompted to "scan and repair" but I did nothing. Instead I looked everywhere to see if it was running any type of program or service but it wasn't so I attempted to unmount it but the option wouldn't come up. I only got the option to scan and repair. I then called Samsung and was told that I could unplug the T7 because it had somehow unmounted itself. After I plugged the T7 into my other laptop I was immediately asked to enter my password but I intentionally didn't set one. After many phone calls to tech services and Samsung I was forced use the scan and repair option which erased everything I spent hours on downloading from various devices. Months later I attempted to review some of the file folders on that T7 and was asked to sign in again which I never set up. I used every password I had ever used but none of them worked. Its been sitting in a desk ever since! A worthless piece of crap. I contacted Samsung multiple times to no avail. My portable SSD(blue) fell out of my pocket because I put it in the same pocket where I kept my small-change(bus-fare)...Anyways, I started to jog across the cross-walk, and as I removed my hand with a small fist-full of coins; here also my Brand-New Samsung SSD comes flying out of my pocket..! As I watch helplessly, it seems like everything is happening in slow-motion. When my SSD hit the pavement, it hit the very corner and edge of the device and continued spinning and I was sure it was now broken and useless...But do you know, what? when I picked it up finally, there wasn't even a scratch AND it worked perfectly! TY for such a durable device.

I’ve had issues in the past with my information being wiped out from the cloud by previous employers IT who would schedule cloud cleanup without warning and in the middle of the night, and my projects would vanish into thin air for no reason whatsoever. I take a lot of photos and wanted a local device to back them up in case of phone failure or loss. Radically when my children were screaming that they lost there high ranking game personalities. My computer only came with about 300GB of storage, so this was a game changer for me. I also had a lot of pictures and videos on my game console that needed to be stored somewhere else to free up space, and this SSD was the perfect thing for that too! It's write speeds are much faster than an older external hard drive I had, along with pretty much all of my USB drives. I now save most of the videos that I make on the SSD. And 2TB is such a large amount of storage to me, I've basically made it my secondary storage unit now! 10/10 product!

It's also in my favorite color, I will eventually buy another one when I need more space! Definitely recommend especially for photographers/ creators if any sort! Great way to take your art/creations/photos ect! I'll always buy samsung products, as I always have, great qualities in every aspect in my opinion! And I understand comparing T3 to AT7 is a bit different but if you have. Used 33 before you know how quick that was. And and it lasted all these years and now I know for a fact that this will last me in the next 7 plus years. You can never go wrong with the Samsung s. Yes. D. Especially their tea brands.

It doesn't disconnect randomly either, which is an issue I had with some of my thumb drives. Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone who takes lots of photos and want's some storage space. However, the reason why it's four stars for me is that transferring larger files or saving updated files does take a bit (as in hefty programs like clip studio pro and adobe after effects, etc.)

The size is great also. It's not too small and it not big either. This can fit in a pocket easily for portability. The metal casing is very high quality and makes it feel structurally sound.

I also use it to take clips from my Xbox and transfer them to YouTube or Instagram as well as photo storage. It has never let me down and can even run programs like Final Cut Pro from it.
