I was very hesitant when buying this monitor because I saw many written reviews saying that the stand is poor quality, that the Smart Hub is bad and shows everytime when you turn on your computer, that starts burning the screen after some months. Let me give you my thoughts after 1 month of using this monitor: It's a game changer! Yes, the stand is not fancy, but I mean, it is what it is, a stand. It does it's job and a lot of people will put this on a wall. For me it's not a deal breaker. The Smart HUB is great in my honest opinion, one of the best added values you can get. I got this monitor for aroun $650, with a beautiful OLED display, I can use it as a Smart TV to watch content, you can play games on Xbox Game Pass (you can connect a controller using BT). And no, the first thing that the monitor starts when you turn it on is whatever source you have plugged in (maybe a Firmware update solved the issue). The smart controller it's also great. It has built-in microphone and Bixby is present on the device, meaning you can adjust settings, look for a movie on your favorite Streaming app, open any app, even control your Smarthings compatible devices. It adds so much value to the monitor. Lastly, the screen itself it's beautiful. The colors, details, lights are all much more appreciated on an OLED screen. Just having this beautiful display makes well worth it to buy this monitor. All that I mentioned before is just more things that keep adding greatness to this device. And yes, OLED screens may burn, but this comes with 3-year warranty. I would recommend this product to anybody that wants to have a more immersive experiencie while gaming or watching content.

My kids love that it doubles as a smart TV so they can watch it while they play. This is my first Samsung monitor and it definitely lived up to the hype. Will be another if needed.

Gaming is amazing with nice pure blacks and work from home tasks are great. Thanks to the built-in pixel shift technology I don't have to worry about burn in. Would recommend this monitor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor but remotes get confused I really love the monitor, but it does think it is a TV and turns off when I use my Samsung TV remote to turn off the TV I have in my home office. Wish there was a way to just disable the remote use and have the monitor turn on automatically when it senses a signal on the Display port cable.

I do wish I could tilt the monitor more up and down for when I'm using it as a TV. I also wish it had a full size HDMI (For convenience) It took some time to get used to the Operating system but it feels pretty snappy. The size of the monitor and the screen technology is the biggest selling point of this thing and it is amazing. It's got a lot of cool features but nothing I normally use

It's an excellent display for gaming and multimedia work and play. The 1800R curve is just right and doesn't get in the way of editing photos and videos. It's quietly immersive in just the right way. Gaming on the display is AMAZING. The colors pop and the contrast is perfect. It's an absolute bonus that the built in speakers work surprisingly well and is great for daily use for attending meetings as well as watching videos. The remote is a bonus to have and well designed. The consistent firmware updates is a big relief and very reassuring to have. I noticed significantly less issues and an overall improvement in quality of life of the monitor through the updates. I have not faced any burn-in at all.

Offering both mass and quality. This monitor offers a surround experience This is really helpful when I'm playing games like call of duty, roblox, fortnite or even fall guys. This brings a new level of Emersion as you now feel like you are a part of the game rather then just plating the game. Now if you are a heavy gamer like I am then you'll love the 175 hz refresh rate which eliminates the idea of lag with even the most complex of games this paired with its 0.1 millisecond response time makes it almost impossible for you to die in games like COD or Fortnite. This also can trickle into streaming with apps like Netflix it helps you to indulge in your favorite shows and movies. Providing you with quality speakers that also help you get a since of 360 surround sound from just this one monitor. This is absolutely worth EVERY LAST PENNY and more. I haven't regretted any samsung device I've bought so far and I can still say this is true with this device.

I absolutely love this monitor, as it is the perfect size for me (ultrawide) as I love flight simming and the monitor blows the visuals away with the stunning colors and that lovely OLED black ?? I have no problems whatsoever with any sort of early burn-in, and it seems like the software is doing just fine, although I don't really like how they don't say anything about the function of pixel refresh and panel refresh. Overall, the monitor is one of the best samsung monitors there are, definitely my top 5! Side note, smart things is amazing when I forget to turn my monitor off to prevent burn in, because I can just tap power off in the smart things notification ?? Samsung, please add a widget for monitors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not great as a dedicated PC monitor use. If you are considering this for a PC, don't repeat my mistake, shop the other manufacturers that share the same panel. Samsung designed this monitor to be a "smart standalone entertainment device" but it struggles with confusion when trying to use it strictly as a PC monitor. The most annoying problem is it powers itself fully off after a few hours. So when you power on your PC this monitor is not detected because it's fully powered off! So you have to grab the remote and power it back on for the PC to detect and be able to use it. I bought this because of the OLED/QLED panel. And in that it's great, when it's working as it should. But like I said, I use it strictly as a PC monitor. All the "smart" features aren't used by me. I'd rather have a "dumb" monitor that is more PC oriented than this mess I have now and I have been waiting for firmware updates to fix this issue for well over 1 year now. Trust me, buy the others!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picture is great, everything else is disappointing Purchased for both gaming and productivity, connected to both a docking station via HDMI and a gaming PC via Displayport. Picture is great, responsiveness is everything I'd wanted, but the monitor turns itself on with no input while my computer is asleep, falls asleep after the 60 second timeout, then turns on again... ad infinitum. Support gave me the run around and put the blame on the connected devices despite my LG 34WK95C-W working without this issue, my guess is it's due to issues with the software. Probably will be the first and last Samsung monitor I purchase.

I use it daily for games such as Insurgency and Starfield, and I like that immersive experience so much! The color and brightness of the display is absolutely beautiful because of the OLED display panel. It is just bright and vibrant. The color is slightly off blue when compared to my MacBook but overall it’s almost perfect. Beware that a regular SpiderX might not be able to calibrate the OLED display, as I have tried and failed to get a better coloring! For office and business the monitor is also perfect. The wide display allows me to do coding and documentation at the same time, and sometimes with work and AI side-by-side. It does have software issues such as occasional disconnections on PC startups, and keeps switching to GameMode when it’s turned on, but I just can’t find a better monitor at this price point!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BURN IN I was really excited about the Samsung G8 OLED's amazing picture quality, but despite being super careful and following all the burn-in prevention tips, it still happened after 6 months. I used pixel shift, pixel refresh and made sure to switch up the content, but it didn’t help. For such an expensive monitor, it’s pretty frustrating to deal with burn-in. The screen looks incredible, but I was expecting better durability from something at this price. To make things worse, Samsung's warranty page has been a nightmare. I tried reaching out for help, but it just keeps sending me in circles with no real answers or support. It’s been super frustrating trying to get any help or resolution. For a company like Samsung, you'd expect better customer service, especially when dealing with something as annoying as burn-in on a pricey monitor

I have had several samsung gaming monitors as well as others and this is by far the best I have ever used. Working on this monitor is not great at all, the picture shifts all the time and the letters are fuzzy. It is also not great for console gaming as it is an Ultrawide monitor and a lot of console games don't support it. BUT for PC gaming, it's the absolute best! It also had a very fast refresh rate and low latency.

The colors are super rich, very vibrant and extremely fast response times. Playing any game on this monitor has been an amazing experience, honestly totally changed the look and feel to most games that I’ve been playing lately. I was wary about making the switch to OLED but I will say this is by far the nicest monitor I’ve used. The picture quality is fantastic, screen size is just right for an Ultra Wide, and I am able to use it like a tv if I choose to do so. One thing I did not expect which was fantastic was the built in speakers; I now no longer have to purchase speakers if I don’t want to wear my headset because the monitor has them built in. I am happy I made this purchase an will be looking to purchase another in the future!

OLED panel? Yup and it's insanely good looking. The grey is a nice touch from all the black or white housing on monitors lately too. And it's brush/matte so it's not a finger print magnet either. Over all pretty bangin' I'm running this with at 3070ti but definitely can use more top end cards to get more frames if you're that guy/gal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This monitor breathed new life into my setup A year ago I was at a crossroads deciding whether to completely overhaul my 6 year old pc setup and upgrade to a 4k setup or save some money and buy this monitor and keep everything else the same. Ultimately I decided to save the money and went with this monitor and man am I glad that I did. This monitor was my first ever 21:9 screen as well as my first ever curved monitor. I was unsure how I would feel about both of these things but within the first day of using the monitor both of those doubts had been washed away by the brilliance of this display. The 21:9 aspect ratio created a sense of immersion I was never able to attain before in my previous displays and the gentle 1800r curve is very pleasant to look at. The curve is just enough to make the monitor envelope your point of view without making the edges too far into your peripheral vision thus you do not need to turn your head to view the entire monitor clearly. For that reason i think the 34in panel is the perfect size for a 21:9 screen. The OLED panel itself is also a huge upgrade from the old 1440 IPS panel I had before. Looking at the images side by side it is hard to believe I didn't realize how washed out the colors were and the blooming there was on my old monitor. I don't know if I can ever go back to a non OLED monitor for my main monitor after this. The colors have much more punch to them and the blacks are actually black unlike the Grey that I was previously used to seeing. This monitor saved my pc 10/10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture Overall, I love it. If I had to do it again, I would probably go with a bigger screen. The input ports don't seem to work. I tried multiple cables and only one HDMI port works. The other micro hdmi, Thunderbolt port, etc. didn't work. Another complaint is that it takes several seconds for the monitor to recognize the input source each power on. Once you're used to it, it's smooth sailing. No other technical issues thus far. Would not buy the same model again. Will upgrade next purchase.

Bizarre choice to only include micro HDMI and micro DP (no standard HDMI or DisplayPort), which is the main reason for returning the product. Samsung makes it really difficult to return the product if you decide to - Each time I called them, there was a two minute wait of silence before talking to a ROBOT - I had to call them three times, and it happened every time - They don't have a clear way of returning from the website forcing you to call them - There is a $40 return fee

Love the ultrawide expanded view for multitasking and playing games on my gaming PC. The only thing I wish this monitor changed are the inputs. The smaller, micro HDMI and mini DP ports are uncommon and made me have to purchase additional cables. Other than that, I love it.

Best buy folks had no idea about it. I do find my eyes straining with this screen but that could just be me. Otherwise it's a great monitor. I can have many apps fit on the screen easily. And being a smart tv, can use it solely as a TV. If I connect using laptop Bluetooth Projection connection option I can have split screen so work and tv at dans time.

After a long time of using IPS or TN paneled monitors, I made the switch to this monitor so I could finally experience OLED on a bigger screen than my phone and I do not regret it one bit! The positives: + Beautiful colors and stark contrast + Surprisingly bright + HDR looks great + High refresh-rate + 3440x1440 Ultrawide resolution, fantastic for gaming if you have a PC strong enough for it The negatives: - Awkward choice of video connectors (micro hdmi, mini display port, usb-c) - Switching inputs is a hassle (not much of an issue if you only use it for one device, annoying to swap between a pc and a console like I do with my PS5 though) The neutral: ~ Basically a smart tv but in monitor size (interface can be awkward for a monitor) Overall, I recommend this monitor! Just make sure you have the right cables to use it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ultra wide monitor The experience is the only reason I gave it a 4 star... The remote needs an input button. Yeah sure I like the app buttons but really switch inputs more. The fact that my Samsung TV and monitor is the same coding is a bit annoying so turning on one turns off the other with the remote. But the remote doesn't allow full control, is even more annoying on both devices which means I still can't just use the same remote for both lol. I love the color and picture quality, it is a pretty monitor and really looks modern. The refresh rate is by far enough and also responsive while playing games unless you accidentally press an app button on the remote then you will spend about a minute getting back to your PC input. I do like being able to play YouTube videos on my monitor while not using the power of my PC, which isn't more efficient. At this point though the discounts happening on the 49 inch is a bit tough to swallow but otherwise it is still a great option for those who are space limited. Buy this if you find yourself needing a nice tablet lol. I find myself like having the options versus other monitors which don't provide the smart features. Also please please please provide full size ports this is easily the biggest annoyance! Otherwise 5 stars if the next 34 inch does that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic monitor, bad software Overall the monitor is beautiful with incredible resolution however it’s smart functionality and switching between inputs or using smart apps is hindered by the laggy, poorly optimized software which I believe is powered by Tizen (who are notoriously terrible). It was be wise to make an updated version of this monitor with more proper traditional inputs, no audio port is odd and we don’t like buying dongles and weird cables after spending an arm and a leg on a monitor. Other then it’s setbacks it’s an amazing monitor for gaming, productivity, and streaming (I recommend getting it when it’s on sale) The monitor just needs software updates and a new model with more compatible IO

The user experience is, on the other hand, awful: - The monitor has no on/off button. Or any buttons at all - you need to use the provided remote. Lose it and things get complicated. Or at least I haven't found any other way to control the monitor. - The monitor has issue detecting inputs. I have two computers connected to it and ~50% of the time when I wake up the one connected to the HDMI port, the monitor doesn't recognize it and I have to reboot that computer. - This is a "smart" monitor. A basic input switch, has to be carried out through a separate menu. The menu is slow, cluttered with apps like Netflix or Spotify, it takes multiple clicks with the remote to get to the options you need, and in general it's a headache to work with. - The monitor keeps losing saved input setting. You can give names to the inputs so instead of having to choose between "PC" and... "PC" from you see something more meaningful, but the second you disconnect the computer, your labels are gone. More descriptive information is buried deeper in the settings, so that is not helpful as well. - Switching between inputs is cumbersome and slow. Everything has to be done through the "smart" menu.

Make sure you enable the high refresh, load your favorite game and enjoy. There is a bug in the firmware that I am waiting for them to fix - if the monitor is off and you start the PC, it shows a garbled screen. I just turn it on then start the PC until they fix it.

I would recommend this product 10 out of 10 times. I have a high end gaming computer and this monitor brings my games to life. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes it doesn't turn on when I start my computer or gaming concoles and says it is looking for signal and doesn't recognize either. Usually restarting my computer does the trick. I have 4 monitors and this is the only one I have that issue with and have tried several different DP and HDMI cables. Otherwise, this is the best monitor I have owned. I have had several other monitors and none of them come close to this Odyssey Oled!

It is fast and responsive during gaming sessions. Overall a great monitor for media consumption. The only downside is a bit slow to turn the screen on and waking up from sleep mode. Upon setup though, I was disappointed that only a micro display port cable was included - no micro hdmi, usb-c, etc, but nothing major. The reason you buy this monitor over one of the alternative qd-oled is likely the Samsung smart hub features, which I personally use regularly. Easy to use and setup, no issues with linking accounts and avoiding signing in individually and something I didn't realize would be so beneficial was the remote. It is such a pain to use buttons on the back of a monitor while you're setting up or just making a change. The remote avoids that (thankfully too because I am scared to death of breaking this monitor because it's so thin) and has the now normal voice command and buttons for apps. I bought this monitor personally for gaming 90% and 10% productivity. It has so far blown me away with HDR performance, resolution and just the picture quality and color as a whole. I came from a good 1440p high-refresh rate IPS and this just blew it away in every facet. HDR made more of a difference than I expected and sadly ruined me for any future monitor purchase because it will be a must-have component.

It's a joy to consume any form of media on this monitor especially the deep blacks. I play a few horror game titles, with my last monitor it was quite irritating to notice the washed out blacks and lack of contrast that's no longer a problem now. Overall I am quite satisfied with everything this monitor has to offer, if I am worried about anything it has to be OLED burn-ins but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

My biggest gripe would be the ports variety. It has a mini display port (cable is included), a micro hdmi port, and 2 USB 3.0 ports. So forget about using your old regular hdmi cable you may have already and want to use with this monitor, you will need to purchase a micro hdmi to hdmi cable. But no biggie, they are pretty inexpensive these days, I just got one for 12 dollars on Amazon. Other than that, this is my best tech purchase this year!

The built in apps is a nice feature but I was not a fan of the micro hdmi/displayport. I ended up returning the monitor to amazon due to the issue waking up on pc with displayport. It's possible the issue could be fixed with a firmware update.

The pure blacks and vivid colors just give every game an entirely new experience. This is my first OLED monitor and I just can't get over the different to a VA panel or an IPS panel. OLEDs also have super fast response times and low latency, so the combination with the color on the screen just has to be seen to be believed! in Short--it is totally worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't wake from sleep, among other software bugs I've had this monitor for a little over a week now and the hardware is great but the software needs a LOT of work. For starters, this monitor will just randomly fail to wake from sleep when using the included DP cable, it gets stuck on a blue screen with a 60 second timer and just shuts off, it's a huge pain to get out of this screen and back into Windows. It's crucial that an OLED monitor should frequently go into sleep when idle to prevent excess heat and burn in. My second issue that I'm having is the volume overlay will pop up without ever touching anything and it covers a big portion of the left of the screen. My last issue is sometimes a rainbow colored line will appear among the bottom of the screen, this has only happened once and went away. The first two issues happen so frequently that I'm shocked Samsung shipped this monitor out like this, and from the other reviews here and posts online, they all seem like common issues.

Had to call customer support and have them send me a new cable which will take up to 14 days. Not sure why they don’t have regular DP port and have to use mini. Absolutely unacceptable. If they had HMDI and regular DP I could see if it’s the port on the back or the cable, but no, I have to buy a brand new cable to test it. So after 14 days I might find it’s not the cable and it’s the port and have to send it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful image quality set back by software bugs. I was waiting months for the release of this monitor due to it not having a fan like the other QD-OLED on the market. The image quality is phenomenal as you'd expect out of OLED, response times are top tier, and the design of the monitor is slim and sleek. Huge plus on Samsung to ship this with a peelable screen protector applied as well, screen arrived in perfect condition. Unfortunately, this monitor is set back terribly by various software bugs. 1) Using the included DisplayPort cable, the monitor will randomly not wake from sleep in Windows. A screen will pop up saying it doesn't detect the DP signal and will turn off again after 60 seconds. Getting out of this screen is a huge hassle to the point sometimes I just have to hold down my PC power button and do a hard reboot, something I haven't had to do in years. Unacceptable to ship out a monitor that can't wake from sleep properly. This happens to me pretty much 90% of the time and I've never used a monitor that had this issue until now. 2) The volume overlay will sometimes randomly pop up on screen throughout the day as if you clicked to raise the volume on the remote, even though the remote is in my drawer with nothing touching it. I usually see it happen once or twice per day, but other users have reported they see it pop up very frequently. These are the two main issues I've encountered with the monitor and they're both pretty big oversights to ship a monitor like this, especially since it's been out in various EU countries for some time and hasn't been addressed. I will be using the monitor until the end of my return period in the hopes these two are fixed by then, if not I will unfortunately have to return and keep waiting for the perfect QD-OLED.

I've tried the M8 and it has the same failings. I own the Ark and it has the same problems just implemented even more poorly. If you really want this panel, you might have to go with a different company, because Samsung keeps messing up their products with poor design and UI choices.

I like having a smart monitor compared to a dumb one. I bought this monitor for gaming mostly, which it excels at. I thought the lower chin on the monitor had plastic wrapping on it, but found out later it's meant to be there. I think Samsung should make this more obvious. The software can use some work, because the sleep function acts weird sometimes and having to select PC as the input when I turn on my PC is very annoying and should auto detect it. The volume control acts weird sometimes as well and will increase on its own. I was hoping this monitor had the v2 tech in it, but it does not and yet I feel it's still very bright regardless and didn't find it to be too dark when gaming with HDR on. I can't wait for a 4K version of this same monitor with OLED tech in it!

Picture was awesome and also the apps that are installed. Works like a TV. Some of the apps does not allow to zoom like netflix so you will be watching with black sides, top and bottom. My only issue was the DP does not work when connecting to laptop and to other devices. It shows on the monitor that it is connected but it doesnt work. The most disappointing was there support since i asked for help through chat. Nobody got back to me regarding my issue. Contacted them twice. I really had the impression that there support would be top notch but I was mistaken. So have to return and ordered a replacement. I have not received the replacement yet during this review but hoping DP would work. Crossing fingers…

However, in reality, in the words of Dwayne the Rock Johnson, it’s the biggest piece of dog crap. The firmware for this monitor is just the smart monitor firmware frankensteined to work on this model, which was already the smart tv firmware frankensteined to work on a monitor. nothing about this works perfectly. if you try using hdmi, the screen flashes black periodically (could be the micro hdmi adapter but that’s on samsung too as they don’t sell a first party cable or adapter for their arbitrary choice of ports), and on top of that, i was actually pleasantly surprised t find out this monitor supports hdmi eARC, even though it says that nowhere on the product page, but it only works with the “smart” tv interface where everything is cropped into a 16:9 aspect ratio even if you’re watching 21:9 content on this 21:9 monitor. the monitor doesn’t have multiple hdmi ports, and it only passes through stereo audio (it should be capable of passing through dolby atmos even through displayport thanks to the hdmi eARC port if the firmware ever gets the attention it desperately needs), so even that is a missed opportunity. the usb c displayport connection makes the monitor have insane coil whine whenever it’s in use, i assume from the 100W power delivery, because apparently they cheaped out on the insides too. in a nutshell, this monitor could be amazing if they fix the streaming experience (wouldn’t have a problem with it if they didn’t make such a big deal out of it), the settings, the ui responsiveness and intuitiveness, the audio passthrough, the wake/sleep settings when connected via any port, the coil whine, the port placement and choice of port, and at the very least if they don’t fix any of that (even though they definitely should as the panel on this monitor is gorgeous when it works), sell it for the price it seems their actions say it’s worth, $150.00.

I didn't or probably won't use the media apps, I use this monitor for mostly work. After about a week, I kept noticing the screen flickering. I called support and after a waste of time talking to them, they told me to call customer support. Unfortunately, the monitor is out of stock so they could not send me a replacement. I just sent it back for credit. Hopefully Samsung will get more in stock so I can reorder the monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beautiful Disaster Caused by Poor Firmware Like the other user who has reviewed this so far, I also waited months and ordered this almost as soon as it was available. Upon plugging it in, the display looks absolutely fantastic, and then you have to go through the "Smart" TV interface that should never go on a monitor. I want my monitors dumb and the only "smart" think about it should be automatic input switching to what I hook up to it. Every single issue with this monitor comes back to the smart features. The display often refuses to wake up, and the remote doesn't even have an input switch button on it, you have to use voice commands or go back to the smart TV home to switch, and Samsung's new redesigned interface does not make it as easy to get to switching inputs on plugged in devices as their old (circa 2019 on my TV) interface that just works. If you use the joystick to switch inputs it is still slow because it still has to use the smart TV interface even though it has a switch input setting in the joystick. Why the D-pad on the remote doesn't do the same thing as the joystick on the remote, I do not know. In regards to the display not waking up, I have had to force reboot my computer more than once, as not only is it not waking up, it completely freezes my mouse sometimes rather than waking up, which never happened with my old monitor. If they re-release it with a standard monitor OSD then consider buying it, though Samsung has a history of mediocre monitor firmware. As long as this is still a "Smart" monitor, DO NOT BUY THIS DISPLAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH HEADACHE AFTER HEADACHE. It has a bit of potential if they fix the firmware bugs and make it wake up properly and mirror the joystick functions onto the D-pad remote, but otherwise it is a beautiful disaster. As per the Samsung store help pages, the return window on non-vacuum products is only 15 days, since this monitor has been out for months in Europe and these bugs have not been fixed even with the firmware update on the day I received it, I will likely return this as I do not trust this will be fixed in the short window.

This device is set up to be used as a stand alone tv without pc connection. There is a remote with Disney, Netflix and Prime buttons. It is pretty easy to set up and use just as a monitor for a Windows 11 pc like I am. Unlike regular LED there is some burn in for OLED. Consequently most people do not leave the screen on for the entire day like they might for a regular monitor. I tried all sorts of power schemes but there are all sorts of things that wake this monitor from Sleep. I was never able to isolate the issues so it kept waking every few minutes. So "Sleep" doesn't really help. What does work is to go to Screensaver and select "Blank". This works great.

Constant - Black screens in HDMI - unusable; On display port, less frequent, but nonetheless it happens. That can be very annoying when in the middle of a first person game. Unfortunatley - If this was isolate to just my monitor I would just swap it out and rule it as defective, but since other sites are full comments of the exact same issue, I can not recommend this monitor It is a shame since the image is amazing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Nice Display Panel that I Cannot Recommend The display panel is great... However, the display is attached to a product with trash software and faulty features. The software is slow and makes simple tasks, like changing video source, very slow. It's clumsy, like when viewing a movie on the built-in streaming apps that doesn't conform to the native display aspect ratio, it plays in a little window in the middle unless you take manual steps every time to correct the issue. And it's buggy. When I wake my PC up from sleep mode, it freezes until I hard restart the PC or unplug this display (I have 3 displays, this is the only one that causes this problem). Samsung says to use HDMI instead of Displayport to fix this problem. That isn't a "FIX", it's a band-aid to cover up the fact that they have shipped displays for YEARS that have buggy Displayport implementation (this isn't the only Samsung display with this problem). And if I use HDMI instead, it just introduces different issues. With it connected via HDMI, Windows does not support HDMI as a primary display when other displays are connected to Displayport, so the Windows "PC Screen Only" function does not work with this display connected that way. Also, if you move the mouse or type as the PC is putting the display to sleep, THIS display will not come back on (I have THREE displays connected and this is the ONLY display with this problem). Navigating the software menus is a nightmare, and I'm convinced it's basically impossible to access certain menus without your smart phone. The only way I can reasonably navigate is by using a phone as remote app instead of the remote it comes with. I bought my 1st Samsung display in 2004 and that one has given me zero issues and I still use it as a CNC / 3D printer display. My 2nd was a 48" flat screen I bought in 2008, which is also still working in a guest room. This monitor is my 7th and probably last. Beyond those 2 early displays I bought many years ago, it's been down-hill from there. Every generation has been more problematic than the last and whatever good-will had been built up with me has now evaporated. Customer service has gotten as bad as the products. Lots of "works as intended" product explanations, "Contact customer service" replies to reviews that lead to service dead-ends, and zero real response to software issues that have plagued multiple Samsung monitors for YEARS. If Samsung fixes the above software issues in the next 6 months, I'll revise this review to reflect and will probably consider more displays from them in the future, but let's be honest...they won't. Prove me wrong, Samsung.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Tight G8 While using my monitor for work and play, it is the right nitch for me. The outstanding picture makes this monitor a must-have. The user manual lacks instructions on using the remote and some functions that require a long press. It also needs to explain functions such as picture-in-picture (PiP). Other functions on the monitor are quirky, like doing an update that shows I have no network available. I need clarification since my only connection is WiFi, and I am listening and watching a program during my trial. The back connections are weird, and it is the only monitor I have seen with a USB-C connection, mini-display port, and micro HDMI.

This amazing productchanged everything though. some people don't like the wide-screen but ones you get used to it and learn how to efficientlyuse it; you will be amazed. It's like having two monitors without the gap while working and like a perfect gaming (specially racing simulation) monitor. Additionall, this new model has an outstanding dataset, jn the sense of a perfect colour visualization, great resolution (outstanding for the siE) and it has a refresh rate high enough to comfortable game anything even fps shooters. Not to forgot the low latency is a dream. Truly I love it for work, entertainment and gaming. one of my best tech purchasesever great job samsung engineers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great panel with one major flaw I really really wanted to love this monitor and use it as my primary. However I just could not get over the fringing on text, borders, or any high contrast line due to the subpixel layout. Any horizontal box has a green upper border, a red left border, a blue right border, and a purple bottom border. Even with cleartype or mactype, text had horrendous color inaccuracies unless I scaled the resolution up by at least 150% (unusable). I own three 4k LG OLED panels for media consumption and productivity and the fringing is almost unnoticeable due to the higher pixel density. If this display was 4k then it may have stood a chance. As far as the OS goes, I hated every second of the experience. Sure, when you get it set up and working the way you want it to, you don't have to worry about the OS. But anytime you start up the monitor or want to change any setting, you'd have more luck hitting the screen with a diamond pickaxe. Whoever picked the mini and micro ports better have a good reason for doing so. I haven't seen a mini displayport since my old mac pro from 2012. If all you are doing is watching movies, this will work just fine. For games without icons with stark borders you will be fine. But anytime you use windows outside of a game you will want a different monitor immediately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't get this if you plan to use DisplayPort This monitor has a great Panel but the software is awful when used as a PC monitor, which in my understanding is the intended use case. Current firmware 1602, after 3/4 of a year on the market, still has no wake after sleep that works with DP. Instead of fixing the behavior Samsung just turned of this feature that every other monitor has. The monitor has to be turned on via the remote every time it goes to sleep. Very frustrating.

The other issue is that there seems to be a delay with my xbox when it is hooked up to the monitor. I have yet to figure out the issue and am working on it. Otherwise the monitor when used as a dual screen with my laptop is phenomenal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing monitor that is perfect for gaming Samsung makes the best monitors for gaming in my opinion. I really like this monitor's curved design and thin bezel. I can perfectly situate the monitor with the stand it comes with, being able to change the swivel, tilt and most importantly the height. In my opinion with most things, electronics especially, you get what you pay for and you get so much for your money with this monitor. I personally just can't get over how beautiful the OLED technology is. The difference between the light and darkness is something you have to experience for yourself to appreciate, which makes HDR content just so much more awesome to experience. I love watching movies on here when not gaming by using the Smart TV functions that's built in as well. The best features in my opinion next to the OLED technology is being able to run up to 175hz with Freesync or G-Sync. Being able to update the picture that fast has made a noticable difference in my FPS gaming, it feels like I can almost react quicker and I notice my flick shots are so much more smooth now that I have absolutely no screen tearing or blurriness. This is the best you can get right now and in my opinion, totally worth it.

The latest batch suffers greatly from coil whine — a very high pitched tone that genuinely causes ear pain within minutes. This monitor is literally unusable. Seems this issue has only popped up in the past few months — implying that Samsung has changed to inferior components or is selling a bad batch. Lifelong Samsung buyer. I wanted this monitor so bad. Put weeks of research into it, only for it to be ruined because of this one issue.

Coming from a non ultrawide, I love having the space of two monitors in one. Games look absolutely amazing and you feel so much more immersed. Colors pop and the image is buttery smooth. There is a slight amount of ghosting when you pixel peeping but otherwise unnoticeable.

If you let your PC go to sleep, it's game over. You have to either remote in to reboot or force shutdown. They tell you to update the firmware, which I've done but it changes absolutely nothing. I have spent hours making sure EDID info coming through is correct and compatible to absolutely no avail. Another issue I ran into is DRM playback on an Apple TV. I refuse to let this device stay online outside of firmware updates and what I've learned is that this device punishes its users for doing so. Apparently you need to be online in order to download a license for HDCP and if you don't let it, Disney+, HBO max and all the other apps that care will refuse to play anything on this monitor. And if you're thinking you can just go online, let it download this license and THEN keep it offline you'd be wrong. Either the license expires after approximately 1 month (I've seen this happen twice already) or the time on the monitor resets and all encryption verification fails. It's embarrassing to see how low they've gone with this one. Anyone who has bought this monitor has paid a premium to be treated and to be treated this way is beyond insulting. I have never taken my LG or Apple display online yet they both work perfectly fine, yet here is a $1600 device that struggles to do even basic things like wake from sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I returned it immortals I used it for about a day before deciding this monitor was awful. The inputs they decided upon are awful. Who honestly carries a micro connector on hand. The color reproduction is good but honestly doesn't get as bright even with hdr on. I do like the remote and I like the smart TV like features this monitor provides. Its a beautiful and thin monitor. The biggest reason I returned this monitor immediately was because it wouldn't display output once I walked away from my computer for a bit and it went to sleep. I'd move my mouse and press some keys. I can tell my computer is back awake and running but still nothing displays out. It just stays stuck in the waiting screen telling me to turn on my displayport device. I've updated the monitor to its current firmware and still this is a known issue that hasn't been fixed even though this monitor has been out for months. I returned this monitor and picked up an alienware aw3423dw instead and lo and behold it's a monitor that just works. It was a nice attempt samsung but I think you can do better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright colors, dark blacks, absolutely stunning ! I use my monitor mostly for gaming and some streaming content. Let me start off by just saying that this thing is AMAZING. I recently purchased the S90C tv and was blown away by the colors, smoothness, ACTUAL BLACKS, new features and much more. Not long after that purchase, I fell upon this monitor which was basically it's twin! I knew eventually I would get it since I spend a lot more time on my computer and I finally did. I regret NOTHING. This has by far been my best monitor purchase! I've owned at least 5 in the last 5-7 years. It replaced my not so old monitor and I would have made this choice 100 out of 100 times. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are just that, no backlight. My games have never felt smoother with the 0.03ms reaponse time. I'm blown away everytime I turn it on. It even caught my wife's eye. Her words exactly, "I'm not going to lie, that thing is beautiful". This coming from the one who urged me not to buy it. Simply put, this monitor is amazing and I love it.

The HDR content on this is in different level. Color accuracy and contrast are unmatched by any gaming monitor on the market. Best display period. I also like the TV like features that comes build in. My only complain on this monitor is the ports. It comes with mini display port, micro hdmi and usb c port. I wish it had full size HDMI and usb type A as well. Overall this is a superb monitor and I love every second of gameplay on this monitor.

You could have captured the entire monitor market with perfect software and affordable mini-LED panels in mid-range monitors. I am a student at UC Berkeley right now looking for a job. I can do far better than your team that is cooking this garbage user interface for these monitors. You have too many options in the monitor section. So chaotic product list. Simplistic approach is the way to get hold of loyal customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from QD-OLED is fantastic. The software is not. Firstly, the QD-OLED panel is phenomenal and I have no complaints. Even the text fringing that others have complained about is a non-issue for me. However, the connectivity and software leave a lot to be desired. Starting with the connectivity, Micro HDMI and Mini DisplayPort would not be my first choice for display connectors. They aren't the most reliable and I'm constantly having issues with my computer not being able to communicate with the display unless I disconnect and reconnect the power for the monitor. Second, the Tizen OS software is so annoying. It's a gaming monitor, if I want to watch Netflix or YouTube, I'm watching it through my computer.

This monitor has a great picture and I would have never thought that an OLED screen would be such an upgrade. It is great for PC gaming but on consoles it does stretch the screen. The refresh rate and response time is lightning fast. I highly recommend this monitor!

I decided to purchase the Samsung 34 inch and give a try, I can say that I am impress. Display is very sharp and thin, the stand has a very small footprint and that makes it great because I am not forced to buy a different stand to reduce space on my desk. Connectivity is good but odd as it does not use you normal cables, they are.all mini ports. Display cable was included so I only has 2 purchased 2 more cables, mini HDMI and and thunderbolt. At the beginning I did not like it but after I got the cables I needed I was able to remove extra cables from my set up. The monitor can be use as a smart display you can download you favorite streaming app and I have been enjoying watching movies on it, speakers are good and the sound quality is not bad. I ended up enjoying a lot gaming on this monitor, tried gaming on a 27 inch monitor and couldn't get used to it, moved back to a 25 inch and was doing good but after trying this monitor everything changed, I started to enjoy more gaming and.also started to try other games just because the image quality is awesome.

What makes it worse, is they do not even include a micro HDMI cable so you have to purchase one on your own. Monitor is fine on PC, but on PS5, with VRR on, the bottom of the display has artifacting.

The image quality on this thing is very well for the 10 minutes it will work out of the box and then black screen on you. When I go to the home screen I can literally see my computer screen showing in the preview and the minute I click on the PC icon all it does is go to a black screen and do nothing. The computer is still registering two monitors and when I click things the computer is doing stuff as if the monitor is showing and working however all it is showing is a black screen. THIS MONITOR IS 10 MINUTES OLD. Buy ANYTHING else. Dont get any samsung brands ever again. FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing How do you market and sell an expensive product, and a "gaming" monitor in fact, but not include a universally accepted standard like HDMI -- which 100% of gaming consoles (e.g. PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) ALL USE. If you're going to sell something that doesn't have universal compatibility with the rest of the world, it would be great to at least include a simple adapter from micro HDMI to standard HDMI. I find this approach terrible.

Out of the box the colors are very good already and oled screens is known for burn in issues but samsung got features to prevent that as much as possible like pixel shift. The stand is also very slim and doesnt take up alot of space like most monitors i had. Overall monitor is great and work just like a regular tv/monitor

I bought this monitor a few months ago and really regret it for the following reasons: - Loud/irratating Fan Noise - Louder than my laptop and really distracting even with RGB off. - Software - Youll be stuck with Samsung ads anytime you go through the monitors home screen. I wish the remote had a clear source change button to avoid seeing half screen samsung TV plus ads when switching. - Software in gereal is buggy/slow/ and not intuitive.

I know there are better monitors coming out with faster refresh rates but if you can pick this monitor for a discount you will not regret it. It has been a flawless monitor that looks amazing and every friend I show it to starts drooling. Compare to the compentors I loved the ultra wides vs the LG and the color and brightness looked better to me at least. Compared to other q-oleds of this generation like Alienware this monitor doesn't have the color fringing on strait lines( only noticable for desktop use. ) with that being said the text is about rough to read at normal size from the pixel alignment I would say your better getting a different display for productivity work. But if your looking for gaming or content you will love using it every day. Only 2 complaints 1 is the Io is stupid why Samsung why did you use micro ports. Took me a bit to find high quality cables for a good price I ended up getting a micro HDMI. To HDMI cable and a display port to mini display port dongle. Not perfect put after you get your cables your good. 2 the user interface can be a bit annoying when switching between a PC and console. Where I have to turn it on go to the side menu go to the use page, productivity gaming , ECT. Go to the desired page then scroll over to the desired device. It's not terrible just clunky. FYI I got mine for about 800

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Samsung using used scratch panels andcallingit new Bought this monitor 6 months ago. Vertical line showed up onscreen, called customer service and repair ticket was issued. Unfortunately dunno if Tech Center is consign by Samsung to use scratch used panels to honor warranty but thats unacceptable because of longevity issues and that is also just wrong to treat customers like that. But been having this monitor Samsung G8 Oled going back and forth for repairs and Tech center continues to say it's a new panel and returns it When it clearly shows otherwise. It's been my third time I send it but won't be expecting much from the Tech Center other than your panel is a new one but yet they already messed up my power supply, replaced panel with a scratch used one, and damage the panel itself by removing the bottom bezel that hides the protective coating film.

Limited to a cropped view with a smart app and a source. Seems you need the larger model to do that. 2nd issue is the noise it makes while in use so I sent it in.

This thing has it all! Clarity! Depth! High color contrast! And auto HDR for my games! I love the look and the easy to use interface. You can even pair a controller directly to the moniter to use cloud gaming from most all of your favorite cloud streaming game services! This is hands down the best investment I've made into gaming, I always though a larger screen like my 75" samsung 4k tv was better but since going to a High definition curved moniter like the samsung g8 I will never go back! Love it absolutely love it!

Stunning picture quality; perfect black levels and amazing color; color coverage is GREAT in SDR. Almost 100 percent color accuracy in SDR. Great features to prevent "burn in", it would be greatly appreciated If the warranty was increased from one year to a 3-year warranty. One of the greatest gaming monitors that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer beware of Display port not working Only giving 2 starts as the panel itself looks fantastic. Buyer beware, a little bit of searching will tell you that this monitor has a big issue with Display port. I have tried 3 different cables as well as 3 different devices and the Display port simply does not work. It does not detect anything when plugged into a PC and will not work no matter what you do. Further digging you will find that nobody has found a solution to this. If I would have known this I absolutely would have went with a different monitor. Currently HDMI is the only port that works. For the pricetag of this thing I expect way better.
