Rated 5 out of 5 by from This has been an amazing monitor I've had this monitor for a little over a year now at the time of this review, and I can safely say that I love the picture quality. I use it primarily for gaming on both PC and Xbox - both of which deliver beautiful colors and great contrast for the type of screen it has. The picture is crisp in every game that I play - Call of Duty, Battlefield (even the beta for Battlefield 6, several different Assassin's Creed games, No Man's Sky and so many others - all have vibrant colors when needed, and deep blacks with great contrast that don't washout. I had to change some settings to match my preferences, like every good TV, but even the initial settings were amazing. When it comes to the response timing and being synced to my NVIDIA RTX 4090, I never notice any screen tearing whatsoever and - unless there's a delay inside my PC - there is never a delay in my reactions on-screen. Everything feels as though it's an instant reaction when I move the mouse or flick a joystick to move. With the 240Hz refresh rate and 4K screen, my graphics card sometimes struggles to match the refresh rate - but again, I never notice screen tearing and all of the motions seem fluid. Overall, if you have a graphics card that can handle 4K with a 240Hz refresh rate, then I would definitely recommend this monitor without hesitating.

The only "shortcoming" is that it is difficult to calibrate properly, and there isn't a "properly developed Monitor Profile" from the Samsung download site, to take full advantage of the great features this monitor provides.

Could t set up a repair because the website doesn’t work so I had to use a phone support person to do it for me. Sent it back. Waited. Got it back. Still doing the same thing.

I contacted support only for them to tell me it isn’t covered under the warranty and I have to pay $800 out of pocket to get it fixed, when it is a documented product defect. I will not be purchasing another Samsung products after this, and will be telling everyone I know to not purchase any Samsung products again. Do not make the same mistake as me!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gaming and Work Monitor I use my monitor mainly for work (MacBook Pro M1), with apps like outlook, safari, Photoshop, and Illustrator. This monitor performs excellently for all of those apps. I also use it for Xbox gaming and OMG this is tremendous. I use the HDMI 2.1 port with the Xbox and it looks fantastic. At some point, I will have to invest in a gaming PC to take advantage of the 240 refresh rate to take full advantage. I have another 32" flat monitor and I just might have to replace it with another NEO 32" G8...I love this thing.

The picture just run liquid smooth and the colors are so rich. Absolutely love this product and is now used as my main screen for anything computer related.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Green Scan Lines Covers Screen I purchased this monitor and it immediately had green vertical scanlines. I called customer service and they recommend shipping it in. I had already done enough online research to know this is a common issue with this monitor and shipping it in would not result in scan lines not showing up. I explained this to the agent but they insisted I continue the process. I shipped it in, got it back. Still had scanlines. So I called back, and informed them again that the scan lines are still present. Once again, they insisted I ship it in for repair. I refused and asked for a replacement or refund. They refused and forced me to ship it in again. So again I trot back up to UPS and ship it back again. Each time I ship it, it costs me $20. Weeks later I got it back and the scan lines are still present. I called back in again, and they insist that I ship it in for repair, again. I purchased this monitor at full price $1200 and am blown away by the lack of empathy and understanding from the customer support team. It seems impossible to escalate this issue to someone that can offer a resolution. It seems they intend to keep in a cycle of failed repairs until my warranty expires.

At the advertised 240hz refresh rate this monitor has severe scanlines on the display so beware. This monitor would easily be 5 stars with contrast almost equivalent to OLED with its mini led technology. Unfortunately, I have to use this monitor at 120hz to avoid these scanlines. I really wish there was a fix to this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor with one fatal flaw! Almost perfect in every way except for one MAJOR flaw: It STILL suffers from the "screen door" effect when using the 240Hz mode. I thought maybe seven or so months after release Samsung would have solved this problem, so I ordered one during Samsung's Black Friday sale. It was delivered and hooked up to my PC immediately using the display port cable they ship with the monitor. By default it's set to 120Hz mode and you need to go into the monitor menu and change it to 240Hz mode. As soon as I did this I immediately noticed a difference in the monitor's display. It's like looking at the monitor screen through a screen door, with finely thin noticeable lines all throughout the screen. If you disable 240Hz mode and re-enable 120Hz mode the screen door issue disappears. I should note that my experience with Samsung chat support is very subpar as well. When explaining the issue to them they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about, as if this issue isn't already well known for this monitor. Needless to say this lead to wasting a great deal of time performing useless actions like, "connect the monitor to another device to see if the issue still persists", or "try factory resetting the monitor". Long story short, eventually it led to them saying they would escalate the issue and someone would call me. Well no one ever called me, but I did receive an e-mail saying I should create a repair ticket. I attempted to do so, but the automated system wanted to charge me $230 to send this off for repair. So that lead to another chat support session which eventually lead to chat support creating the repair ticket themselves. They provided a QR code and told me to take the monitor to UPS and have them package it for shipping for repair. So now I'm waiting for a monitor that I just purchased to get repaired and be sent back to me. By the way they don't provide an ETA for repair time and shipping the monitor back. I would like to say it is not all doom in gloom in regard to the monitor though. When I used it in 120Hz mode it was fantastic! The amazingly bright HDR2000 display gets so bright sometimes that I have to squint to not go blind! On the flip side, the black levels are on par with any OLED display I have ever seen, and I am not exaggerating that statement at all! The curved panel took a bit to get used to, but once that happened I actually miss it now that it's gone out for repair. Sitting at just the right distance with the curved panel almost gives it a surround vision vibe. All in all I really do love this monitor and I can't wait to get it back repaired and ready to go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unrivaled by all but OLED I use this display for gaming primarily. The mini LED has keeps the horror games dark and the HDR games bright in a way I have never experienced. The 240hz ensures an excellent smoothness to the motion keeping you competitive when you need it and the freesync keeping it smooth when you need it. This VA panel has IPS levels of clarity in motion with the contrast ratio of VA resulting in an excellent viewing experience. One of the features that I love the most is the dedicated ultrawide mode in the settings. It provides a 3840x1600 resolution and with the mini LED technology it keeps the black bars black. The stand is passable, not great. It has tilt, height adjustment and swivel. I'd recommend a monitor arm for this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs better color scheme and calibration I was excited to get this monitor. I have heard how great back light dimming was and the refresh rate. The monitor itself looks beautiful except for the stand. The OSD is pretty easy to navigate. Gaming was good not great. I did see a few lines when I was playing certain games it would happen in cinematic scenes. The reason I am sending this back is the color schemes that are available on the OS are not great. The SRGB mode seems so washed out. I kept looking online for other individuals that have this monitor to see what settings they had. I got it to a point where it was ok. But that is the thing for a monitor that is "Premium" it should not just be ok. It should blow other monitors out of the park.

The brilliance of the color spectrum is unparalleled and cannot be beat by any other in its class! The HDR literally soothes my eyes and makes me feel like I’m actually in the game. The immersion factor of this monitor can’t be boasted enough! I have it hooked up to my PS5 and my RTX 4090 on my PC. To take advantage of the blazing fast refresh rate capabilities it requires high end performance hardware, but if you have the cash, then do it and feed this beast! You will not regret making this purchase, I know I didn’t! It pairs well side by side with my other Samsung 49” Ultra-Wide monitor, but it clearly is the the winner and stands out as the ranking champion by far! Take your gameplay to the next level! You will be thrilled that you did! ?? 10/10 5 Stars ?? all day LONG!

Games look good with a 240 refresh, the 4k HDR is good with no screen tearing, and the AMD freesync works flawless. Only thing I have a issue with, is how hot it gets, and the feel of the heat on your face is uncomfortable. I still recommend it

The color accuracy are perfect out of the box. It has essentially no input lag and it's 4k!!! I love that it has vrr support meaning I can use my ps5 at it's full potential! Best monitor I've ever had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best mini led monitor! I'm a hardcore gamer. I'm pretty impressed with that monitor. It's pretty solid for gaming. I gave it a 4 star because of curve. I had to give it a try. It's not for me. I could have returned it back. Reason, I didn't because I have a gpu 4090 and perfect for 4k and 240hz. I love about this is mini led (no burn in risk). Color - Black level is pretty good! I have LG C2 and it's best black level but a little dark... So, neo 8 is the close enough! I decided to keep it. I love it so far. I have it for a year. It's still awesome. Keep it up, Samsung! Cheers

The monitor has been great for me. I have found myself immersed in the screen. The monitor has been more than what I expected. I have bought previous Samsung gaming monitors, and I will continue to do so in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible Product, Terrible Service bought this monitor with hesitation when i heard the horror stories with qc in past. however, i decided to take the chance on july 19th. once i got this monitor, which was only a couple of days. plugged it in and right off the bat the left side of the screen glitched a bit before it displayed a picture. called samsung support and instead of offering a refund, for less than a month of having this, had to send to repair. sent in original packaging with bubble wrap to boot. they said it had a scratched front which is nonsense as it was brand new and pristine. called support again just to tell me that once i get it back they will now have to do a ups investigation, which only knows how long that will take. worst experience i have ever had with a company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the monitor, but Samsung as a company reall I love the monitor, but Samsung as a company really screwed me.... Dead pixels showed up about 14 days in.. I try to call thier customer support Sunday (day 15) and they were closed. I call back monday (day 16) and now my exchange period is one day past. I was, and have been, a HUGE Samsung advocate since as long as I can remember, but the way their support treated me and the way they flat out was down right disgusting. This WILL be the last samsung I buy. Just check for dead pixels day one, because this monitor will probably come with some.

Thank you samsung I will always be a customer when it comes to refrigerators to laundry equipment and gaming equipment I still have my washer and dryer and it is still running strong I got the front loaders back in 2014 and like I said everything yall provide to customers are built to last and the warranty is amazing ??.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad product, stay away. Do not buy samsung products, they are expensive and when they break that is there's no way to fix it, not even with their so call experts technicians. This curve monitor have big problems, mine did break after 1 1/2 year i paid almost 1000 dollars for a monitor that nobody can fix, and not only that i only used a few times, thank you samsung for selling expensive items that will break after a few months and then good luck to you, and the top of the cherry is there call support, not been able to help you answering from home with distractions, music, kids playing, so be careful spending big on and so call good brand, you have been warned, thank you and happy new year.

The picture is clear as day, especially coming from a QHD screen (Odyssey G7). The HDR looks washed on desktop screen but looks great when playing diablo 4 and oblivion remake. Haven't done much work on it yet but I will likely turn HDR off for that. I couldnt justify paying over $1,000 for this given that there are more than serviceable qhd options for far less, but on sale for around $700 this was a STEAL!

No issues that have been reported about scanlines. Came with version 10 firmware if that makes a difference. G-Sync does work without issues even though no longer listed as compatible with my Nvidia 4700 super.

The only major issue I had with it was it randomly blacks out. I tried to reach put but the chat feature was not user friendly. I couldn’t figure out how to update the firmware. I still give it 5 stars but customer support can be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scanlines in 240HZ !! This Monitor has Scanlines on 240Hz - Dont Buy ! This issue has been present since it came out of the box, but it appears that all these monitors suffer from it (Neo G8 and Neo G9). It's like I have a very expensive retro CRT monitor when I set it to 240Hz ?? Below you will find an analysis of when these scanlines are triggered. DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 – monitor in OSD set to 240Hz 120Hz – VRR control OFF = OK 120Hz – VRR control ON = NOK 240Hz – VRR control ON or OFF = NOK DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 – monitor in OSD set to 120Hz 120Hz – VRR control OFF = OK 120Hz – VRR control ON = NOK HDR mode ON or OFF – NOK This issue occurs both on the desktop and in games (although it won't be as noticeable in games since they involve moving images, but in game menus that use colors like orange, such as in COD6, you can definitely see them). It seems that the VRR control setting in the monitor's OSD causes the problem at 120Hz. If you go higher than 120Hz, the monitor seems to automatically enable the VRR control setting (even if it is set to OFF in the OSD – switching between ON and OFF also doesn't seem to make a difference). Test custom resolution Nvidia – OSD set to 120Hz If I create a custom resolution of 121Hz (or higher) – NOK (so anything higher than 120Hz causes scanlines, even if DSC is not used) My suspicion is that the firmware needs to be checked to see if VRR control is not automatically enabled when the monitor is set higher than 120Hz. Rtings mentions the following: The monitor supports a 4k signal up to 240Hz as long as your graphics card supports Display Stream Compression (DSC) to compress the extra data. However, there are a few issues with the monitor at 240Hz. Firstly, there are scanlines that are most noticeable with solid colors, especially blue, but you can also see them throughout the desktop, like on icons. This scanline issue is only a problem with 240Hz and not lower refresh rates. There are also pixel inversion issues with certain test patterns, as you can see in this video. There's a chance you see this in some games that have a similar pattern, but not every game or content has this problem, and this issue can happen at random times. The problem lies somewhere in the firmware and will not be resolved by sending it in for repair. We all want this problem to be resolved, but if it is not, it seems better that these monitors are no longer sold without informing people about this issue. There is no mention of this on your website. Or to set up a large recall action. Firmware 1012.0 that just came out still has the same issue - hopefully some would take the time on the samsung office to check this out and provide us with a firmeware that fixes this problem!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could have been the perfect monitor this monitor had everything going for it. but it was too ambitious. it suffers from the same issues as the g9 odyssey. it has scanlines, a horrible anti glare coating, hdmi 2.1 doesn't work correctly, and it has a really annoying issue where the color settings wont stay. i purchased the g7 neo which overall seems to be a better monitor, but it also has the exact same issue with custom color settings.

I have not had any issues or faults with it and I've had it for almost more then a year. The quality is amazing 4k 240hz is unheard of and is over kill for most graphics cards as most can't even make it to 240 frames in most AAA title games. (I use a 3080 ti fe) avg 240 to 160 in most games. Which is more then enough and future proof that what this monitor really sells me on. It having the curve I thought watching movies or any media on it would be annoying but I was wrong while sitting to the side you will lose the local dimming effect that makes the HDR on this monitor so dang good when in the center it looks fantastic and I don't have a reason to not sit at least near center anyway. It's been worth it 110% but it is pricey is the only con Id say for me. Other then that love this monitor.

I upgraded from a 27" Alienware IPS display and I know that OLED displays are still not perfected so I decided to buy this one and the comparison is night and day! After some tweaking with the settings, I finally got the perfect output using a 4080 card with HDR off in windows, custom scaling @ 160% , 14 black equalizer, 120hz refresh rate, adaptive sync on, 80 brightness/contrast/sharpness, and contrast enhancer on. (NVIDIA brightness/contrast/digital vibrance @ 50%)

It has a truly sleek design with amazing clarity. Runs as smooth as butter and honestly there isn't anything but maybe one thing I disliked but I believe its a personal dislike. The base seems a little weak for holding up this grand monitor. Don't get me wrong, there have been 0 issues with it. I just kinda wish it seemed stronger. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meh i am very disappointed with several things about this monitor. 1. the ambient lighting is utterly worthless, it is not nearly bright enough to do anything. 2. the 1 year warranty is not acceptable for a $1500 monitor. 3. the monitor will not wake from sleep, so i had to change my settings to always on. 4. it took an extra 3 weeks to ship from what i first promised. 5. customer service said that i would receive a $50 credit on a future purchase, i told them i want $$$ off this order....they then offered me $100 off a future order. i was told that i would receive the credit when i received the monitor. i have not received any notification regarding this. it is a gorgeous screen and with a 3080 running 4k i am consistently over 100 fps.

The are some horizontal lines visible on bright orange images, but I got used to them. I returned one of these monitors because the horizontal or scan lines were too noticeable on that other monitor. Other issue is flickering on very specific gaming scenes. Happens on dark scenes with bright lights, like in cyberpunk 2077. These issues have prevented me from enjoying this monitor though.

At first, it was just some flickering and flashing when it first turned on. Now it's almost constant, and the monitor is almost unusable after less than a year. Samsung support has been giving me the runaround for weeks. "Yes, I will file you a new ticket for that." Great, a support ticket doesn't fix my monitor.

Have to use dp for 4k 240hz. Csgo looks crisp and fluid in 240 hz. Bow to cons. I have noticed that there is some flickering in 240 hz mode. I cant see scan lines but it is a known issue too. Hdr performance is OK. No type c port and speakers for such an expensive monitor.

Almost… Ever since I put together my gaming PC with state of the art graphic card and processor (a couple of years ago), I’ve been on the search of a worthy monitor, having tried a couple of high end, gaming specs monitors, I didn’t feel i was unleashing the full potential of my setup, but finally, the wait is over and I can now game a fine selection of competitive, highly optimized games at 4k and 240hz, with a very decent, almost non-existent input lag, yes, I finally feel I’m not wasting all that technology and all that time I spent getting the components at MSRP… sure, is not perfect, but if I learned to live with scanlines in most combinations of refresh-rate / resolution / VRR, so can you, and who knows, maybe someday we’ll get at SW update that will miraculously fix it for good, without even breaking anything else. Oh yes, dear Samsung, please make a shortcut to turn on/off the artificial crosshair.

I haven't had a ton of high quality monitors or tvs in my time so I'm comparing this to mostly just 1080p, but the colors look fantastic and I quite like the curved screen. While it looks fantastic and it feels solid enough, I've had some small issues with fairly casual usage. Occasionally the screen will turn off for a couple of seconds, almost as though it's about to switch ports or something. I've seen some folks run into this and so far a lot of the suggestions to fix it don't seem to work for me. Fortunately, it's not happening a lot so I'm not terribly worried about it. To be honest, I've yet to try much gaming with it but hoping to soon. Perhaps with gaming the random black screen won't happen.

This is a beautiful monitor. The curved screen immediately gave a more immersive view & feel to the game and I was able to play with visual settings to get color & graphics exactly where I wanted it for my dimly lit game-room environment. Color and visuals really 'pop' on this monitor, and input lag is non-existent. I'd say my only complaint (minor) is the power and menu button access is directly under the center-bottom of the monitor. I would rather see this on the side of the monitor or by remote, and a single-press power button. Otherwise, no complaints!

Doesn't support 240hz at all, 4 cables that are 4k240hz rated and not even the 4k120hz included cable works without adaptive sync, monitor wont detect or post even at 240hz. LG monitor with 4k 240hz works in same gpu slot, same settings. Literally cant try more cables because cables will arrive after return window. Firmware update did absolutely nothing to help issue. Very sad it didn't work even when picked up to ensure delivery didn't mess up monitor.

It is a relative joy to multitask with several open windows on this beast. Why only a relative joy? C'mon, who actually LIKES having to do several things at once. Most folks don't relax by doing a bunch of mental juggling, do they? Anyway, I obviously use this monitor as a workstation. And it obviously fits my needs well. If I were a gamer though, I think I'd find the experience on the Odyssey G8 to be totally immersive.

(send monitor back wait until the return is received and start the whole order again). no way am i going to deal with that all over again and risk getting another bad monitor with all that downtime in between. make sure you turn hdr on and white screen every pixel as soon as you get this thing. hopefully other have a better experience. i'll wait for others to get into the 4k 240hz realm.

There are multiple issues with it and this monitor, from flickering to problems with the connection ports themselves to the point where it's too much of a nuisance to use, if not completely unusable. Feel free to look them up - on reddit and other places, which is something I should have done. Around 2 months in there are already a few dead pixels. The OSD UI is ugly and awful, the buttons to control it awkwardly placed and spread out. Often fails to wake up from sleep state/screensaver. By far the worst monitor I have ever owned, I'd sell this for a dollar to get back the old ultrawide I had, extensive burn-in and all. If it can be helped, I won't buy anything Samsung or even Samsung adjacent, ever again.

My previous displays were noticeably dimmer than my M1 MacBook Pro, but this amazing display easily exceeds the vibrancy, clarity and overall performance of the Mac display making it the perfect companion. When I hook up my ASUS Strix laptop I am immersed in the full 4K 240 Hz gaming world. Horizon Zero Dawn is simply stunning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Best The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 is great. I use it to play games with the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. With the PS5 I just plug and play, with the Xbox I had to change some settings. Both look Great. The vivid colors are amazing compared to my LG 27UK650-W and much fast screen. A huge upgrade in my opinion. The price of the G8 not so great but if you can get it when they're on a discount grab it, you won't be disappointed. Happy gaming people.

Response times on par with competitive gaming monitors and with 4k 240hz support. Menu is easy to use to make adjustments. Is on the hefty side so for VESA mounts be sure to plan accordingly. If I have to put a con I would say the ambient lighting feels like an afterthought but really grasping at that point. Would recommend to anyone with the budget for it

I recently upgraded to rtx 4080 and this monitor has been great bang for a buck. Hard to justify the full price but if you can get it in a sale, it's definitely worth it. I've been using for competitive gaming for a while and that refresh rate definitely helped sometimes. 1ms response is good and all but I'm also excited about the new monitor coming with OLED display and 0.03 ms response rest. Definitely not getting rid of this monitor even if I upgrade in the near future.

It gets super bright while still having very deep blacks. 240hz looks very smooth and I have not seen any of the banding issues reviewers complain about. I have an LG CX 48 on my gaming pc and this looks just as good if not better. I highly recommend it.

Certain games I play, it will literally just make the screen go black. I wrote support and they had me just reset it back to default settings. I am unable to upgrade the nVidia driver because when I do, I'm unable to display in 1080P. This monitor was obviously released before they worked out all the bugs. I do not want to send it in for service because that would leave me without a monitor. For how much I paid for this, I'm extremely disappointed. Samsung makes great phones, but not great monitors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cracked screen on arrival beware of the risk of getting your display with a cracked screen on arrival, very hard to know where/how this happened, box seems fine, although, i wonder why they shipped in the product box with no additional protection whatsoever..., display's frame seems undamaged too, was the box dropped on its side while in transit? was this display broken before leaving the factory? one thing is for sure: after waiting for this product for -literal- years, it's broken on arrival, it was really disappointing. the ratings i'm placing are after the fact i didn't even power-up the display, i'd update this review when/if i decide to get a replacement that works.

The picture is crystal clear and adapts to any game type you play (first person shooters, sports, role playing, strategy, simulation, and adventure games). Only downside is that it has no speakers so you will need external speakers if you wish to not use a headset. The quality is so good, I just ordered the Samsung Neo QLED 8k for all my streaming purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 32" Odyssey Quantum - Excellent with the 4090 Pros: - The native 4k resolution (3840 x 2160) and the 240 Hz refresh rate is excellent. - Allows variable refresh rate (VRR), adaptive-sync, extreme response time, and low input lag options. - Allows Local Dimming settings Off, Auto, Low and High. - No dead pixels. - Hight and Tilt adjustable. Comes with VESA wall mount. - Comes with clips for easy cable management. - Easy on the eyes for text clarity. Great for both work and gaming. - G-SYNC compatible using native FreeSync Support. Cons - Wobbles a lot, especially when adjusting the settings. - Did not work properly out of the box for me, had to troubleshoot numerous settings and reset my PC for it to start working properly. Could be an issue for some. - Local dimming can cause dark backgrounds to look too dark. There is a bug somewhere which causes the local dimming settings to change when set on High (occurs when I change tabs in VS Code). Setting it on Auto seems to work now. - Color accuracy is great out of the box, but requires calibration for better accuracy. Overall, the monitor requires numerous settings to be adjusted to fit your needs. Read the manual entirely to learn and understand the settings compatibilities (i.e., changes settings can cause other settings to change).

The monitor is great but I have blue lines in my blues and my gripe about it is the auto turn off function is a short timer of 5 seconds and it doesn't have an auto switch function for new inputs that are already active. Other than that, it's a great monitor, the speed and clarity are unmatched

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect curve This is my first higher end, curved monitor, and I can safely say I will never go back to flat if I can help it. The 244hz refresh rate is a game changer. Especially if you're moving up from 60hz/120hz. It displays beautifully in 1440p, giving me a strong mix of performance AND quality in-game. The onboard USB hub is also an excellent addition. I also loved the cable management option built into the stand. All in all, this was a great purchase, and I've recommended it to all my gaming buddies. I'd purchase this again in a heartbeat.

Called to make a warranty claim and was sent the wrong part. Now Samsung is forcing me to send the entire monitor back for "repair" when all that is needed is the power supply. Nevermind the fact they don't sell these power adapters anywhere. Absolutely ridiculous for the price of this monitor.

I run a rtx 4070 super GPU and even at 120 hz the picture quality is great performance. In 4k I get around 60fps and the picture quality and game play is still smooth. This monitor is also good with Xbox series x and PS5 console Their 120hz makes it enjoyable to play on. I love the RGB circle light in the back of the monitor and you can change the colors in the front and the back RGB lighting that is. Screaming prime movies in 4k rocks!! For a monitor it does well. The curve of the monitor makes it enjoyable you barely know it's curved. I don't think this monitor should get as many bad reviews as it does it is a great monitor in my opinion. I recommend only if you have the patience to go your settings and hardware configured properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neo G8, the current king. My setup: MacOS/MacBook Air, DisplayPort over USB-C, GeForce Now streaming @ 4K 120FPS for games, remote WFH office usage. My environment: bright day-time lighting directly behind (coming from balcony doors/windows). I've searched for 3 months, seeking the "perfect" monitor (which doesn't exist BTW). I've tried 4 different brands (LG [3 monitors], Samsung [2 monitors], Gigabyte [2 monitors], InnoCn [1 monitor]. The Neo G8 is the best of the lot. BUT only worth it to me because it was on a steep sale. I can't justify the price at $1k or higher. Some reviewers say the Neo G7 is the 'better' pick, and while these monitors are similar, I have tried both and the Neo G8 is substantially better for me. Without this turning into a very long review, the biggest summary items of this monitor for me: PROS - Screen Reflection handling is absolutely amazing. If you have a bright environment, this monitor is guaranteed to impress you as well. The Neo G7 has an entirely different screen treatment. - No flickering at low brightness, like the Neo G7 - HDR is very good - Blacks are deep and inky CONS: - No USB-C cable built in, I have to use a DIsplayPort adapter cable or a USB-C hub. This is a huge oversight on Samsung's part. Almost all competing monitors have a USB-C cable connection. Advantages of a USB-C port is that only a single cord is required to be connected to your laptop or PC. That will charge if it's a laptop, provide DisplayPort, and function as a USB hub with the monitor's other ports. Single cord life is amazing, and less cords is better for literally everyone. - The white plastic finish. I don't know who thought this was a good idea and why. Only thing I can think of is PlayStation lovers. Thankfully I don't have to see it while using the monitor. - Very slight haziness due to the screen reflection treatment. This is absolutely worth it to me. And if I do notice it, I remember just how amazing it performs in bright light. If you only use your monitor at night, then this might be a slight annoyance. - Small con, but a 3rd USB port would have been nice. There's plenty of space. - Better infinity core lighting, the type on this monitor is inferior to the Neo G7. It's not as bright, reactive, and the front lighting doesn't match on the left and right. I keep it off anyways, but that might annoy someone that uses it.

It has progressively gotten worse and now it will randomly go black and come back on like it is automatically selecting an input source. It will do it in the middle of playing a game as well.

I run triple A titles on ultra settings with a 4090 Nvidia GPU and this monitor is perfect for it. The curve is another great feature of the neoG8. It looks great and has completely alleviated the eye strain I was getting playing on my television. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about it. The curve with the 4k resolution makes it all the better and almost par with an OLED monitor because of the local dimming zones. This monitor is the one and all, unless you really need the 49 inch one.

My personal use is purely for PC Gaming and consuming media content every now and again, it's also in use with a secondary 2k 144hz LG Monitor in portrait mode (dual setup). The colors pop like crazy, the 120hz/240hz modes work like a charm when consuming specific content. But my main drawback is the g-sync compatibility. I use a 4080 GPU set up, and since they don't use a specific g-sync compatible chip I'm constantly troubleshooting between games trying to fix screen flicker. (On Diablo 4 it's especially aggressive) I noticed for my station it has a lot of issues in when in use with my dual monitor setup (setting the 2k monitor to 60hz or 120hz while the G8 is in 120hz and 240hz respectively, usually fixes flicker in some games) Overall very happy with the product, loses points due to troubleshooting.

I contacted customer service and they asked me to run a different hdmi cord and different Xbox. Same problem, refuse to let me return it. Do not waste your money on this.

The detail is great & there us no blurring. I do, however turn off the monitor if I'm going to be away for a while. I'm just worried about burn in.

The 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time continue to deliver an incredibly smooth experience, especially in fast-paced and competitive games. The image quality remains outstanding, with vibrant colors and deep blacks thanks to the mini-LED technology and HDR support. The screen’s curvature provides excellent immersion for gaming and has also been great for productivity and multitasking. Build quality is solid and durable — even with daily heavy use, the monitor still feels like new. The customization options are also a strong point, allowing fine-tuned adjustments depending on the type of content. Overall, this has definitely been a worthwhile investment.

But I have one big complaint and that is the OSD pad at the "very" bottom below the screen. I defy anyone to be able to navigate the button pad unless you have the hands of a 5-year-old. The person who designed this OSD pad should be working at McDonalds! The monitor settings should be accessible with a remote or have on-screen software or at the very least have a bigger button pad. It really spoils the experience. I ended up taking pictures of the buttons with my cell phone to help me navigate the menu buttons. I was so frustrated with these buttons I even laid the monitor on its back. It was truly a very frustrating experience that shouldn't happen with a monitor of this caliber.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The monitor to rule all gaming monitors Honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the monitor after that first 2 week period of hype wore off. But now? Well now I’ve learned just how awesome it is! I’ve had the monitor for over a year, ended up buying one for my wife as well. It’s got it all (minus speakers - but oh well)! It’s got the anti glare, the brightness, the perfect curvature, and the epic response and refresh rates. All while still being able to have amazing HDR viewing. Honestly the mini LED display is perfect, not perfect perfect, but perfect in the sense that it does what it needs to where it lies between lcd/led and OLED and I cannot complain about that at all. Samsung could technically do better on the build quality and allow maybe some wiggle room (no pun intended) for easier access to software upgrades, but hey, I’m a gamer. If it works and I can play without problems, I’m happy. Definitely recommend this beast!

Picture is clear with no issues like screen tearing or input lag that's noticeable. Only issue is I have to occasionally reset the refresh rate as the screen will basically freak out. It's a simple fix but can be annoying. I'd still reccomend this monitor and have to friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 240 HZ didn't work out of the box i got the device recently everything was working until i turned on the most important feature that is advertised 240hz!!!!! the device would not output anything after enableing 240 hz!!!! how could the most advertised feature not be tested on brand new product. the viewing angles are great with the curve. the response really shows in games and now the desktop. the va colors dont appears as good as ips in my eyese but a a faster larger display is waaaay better for more immersive gamming . wait on buying this till samsung as more quality testing that features advertised on the box work as they should. the value to specs is good only if they work.

In gaming the blacks are too dark and bumping up any brightness or chaning black equalizer doesn't help. Having VRR on while working causes scanlines, unless you are in 120hz mode. I've never been more frustrated with a monitor. My 2019 Dell 32" VA displays games so much better. Sad.

However, for ~$300 more you can get a significantly better oled monitor. The other issue is that this monitor has bad scan lines in most configurations.

This monitor is nearly perfect, has incredible color and brightness - so much available brightness, you very likely have to turn it down to prevent eye damage, lol. I am a frequent gamer with over 1000 games on Steam, and paired with an RTX 4090, the Neo G8 brings my games to life in 4k. I have experienced a flickering on certain settings, but with being able to adjust various settings in the panel's onscreen menu, I have been able to resolve those without issue. Overall, its a an incredible feat of technology to display 4k at 240hz, and can be picked up at a great price. Your results may vary, my experience has lead me to recommend this to friends easily.

Playing games at 240Hz on a 4K is not really a viable option for most. But this monitor will let you if you computer support it. It's not the new buzz word OLED but with the mini leds, it achieves similar(reduced) effect. But with REDUCED price. Haha

I am a computer dealer of 28 years, bought a day ago for $1000 on sale form Best Buy sealed. the monitor on the on screen menu even not plugged in is at 120Hz. no way to change it so in Windows it is 120Hz, despite this being a 240hz monitor. the Philippines agents know nothing, even software update on website has no file, I did reset on menu but no files to download. Not firmware, other software, and the picture is horrible at 120Hz. This is a 240hz 3840 res monitor and looks like a $120 monitor. I have a 3080TI with 32GB DDR5, solid system, but even not plugged in the on screen menu, go to game,, refresh you get "this function is not available" and nearly everything is grayed out. It is like there is some junk software bricked on here and I am calling Quezon City, Philippines and they are simply not trained, not at all. I do NOT blame the all agents at the BPO, I blame Samsung. No quality control to let a monitor get shipped out with bricked software, then not training the agents and lastly a website with NO SOFTWARE for the G8 to download to use the nice USB update feature. Why have an update feature with NO software? I replaced a 120H Predator monitor that is 100 times better quality. this is going abck tomorrow-so disappointed in Samsung and again I am a computer dealer, I own Gementerprises in Millville, NJ for 28 years doing repairs but this was for me as a Christmas present along with a 4080 card. Yes using DP and have a windows driver that is not mentioned in the paperwork, you need to downlaod it off the site and not have PNP monitor, then it asks DP or HDMI, use DP but still always 120Hz and unplugged 120Hz. JUNK! Don't tell me call Samsung support in the reply, my cat can do better support, the PH are truly are nice people and I know Philippines, but WORTHLESS as they do not evne know basic technical terms. One guy says 240Ghz, I LOled, it is Hz and the menu is bricked, but NOBODY is properly trained and that is Samsung's fault, not the BPO.

The curved felt weird at first but I got used to it after a few days. The controls are good enough to use for the OSD. I haven’t noticed issues that other people mentioned.

I originally had the Samsung Odyssey G7 QHD 32" curve gaming monitor a few years ago and been wanting to upgrade to the 4K UHD monitor. I been watching the pricing of this monitor for the last year, finally jumped on it when it wen to sale. I'm using this monitor for my Xbox Series X, that way I can play at 4K @120HZ, I can actually see what 120FPS really looks like. I know overkill for what I am using it for, but well worth the money and makes all the first person shooters look great!! I also use it with my Dell laptop and some of my graphic design software, the curve is a eye saver after a few hours. Highly recommended, I bought mine directly from Samsung, arrived in two days and have zero issues!

The display itself is pretty incredible, but there's one glaring issue that’s hard to ignore. First, the good stuff. The picture quality is fantastic. This 4K makes everything look incredibly sharp and detailed – spotting enemies or just appreciating the scenery is a big step up. The colors are super vibrant, and the HDR performance is really impressive. Bright highlights like explosions or sunlight genuinely pop, and dark areas in games look properly dark and atmospheric, not just washed out. It makes games feel much more immersive. Performance-wise, it's a beast. The 240Hz refresh rate makes motion unbelievably smooth. If you play fast-paced games, especially shooters, the lack of motion blur and the feeling of responsiveness is a game-changer. Everything just feels instant. The curve on the screen also helps pull you into the game; I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it works well on this size display, making it feel more encompassing. Combined with G-Sync/FreeSync keeping things tear-free, the actual gaming experience is top-tier. Now, the bad part, and it's a big one: the stand. It looks cool, but it has no height adjustment at all. Zero. For a monitor this expensive, that's just baffling. Mine sat way too low on my desk, forcing me to stack books underneath it just to get it to a comfortable viewing height and avoid neck pain. It is a surprising lack in a premium monitor

There is a lot of light bleed and in uniform back lighting that kind of break immersion not to mention the monitor puts off heat makes you feel like you’re sitting outside getting a tan while using it I only recommend this monitor if you can afford $1400 and OK with the LCD screen and random flickering at 240hz

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neo G8 scan lines and dead pixels i just got the monitor 2 hours ago and have already printed my return slip. monitor looks amazing but i just don't get how these monitors can be such poor quality. i have the odyssey g7 as well. it also has scan lines but they are only noticeable when not gaming. i have about a month left on the warranty but i might just use the warranty for that one after seeing issues with both monitors.

The monitor will display the scan line when you turn on the 240hz refresh rate and that it the technical problem due to DSC. Then, I ask to fix it but the agent just brush me off again and again. I uploaded a video to show what problem it is but the agent just follow the SOP to keep going and never watch my video. After i remind everything he/she said is on my video, the agent promise to watch it and try to deal with the monitor problem. However, the agent had no response after that for a long-long time even if i call he/she so many times. Then, the agent reply me "creating the fix order" without my consent and ask me to ship my monitor back to Samsung but i need a monitor to remain my daily job. I ask to a replacement of monitor but no way. No Technical support, No respect, No solution. JUST WASTE TIME AND MONEY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for PS5 but has flaws I use it mainly for playing PS5 games and occasionally streaming movies. I cannot complain about the picture quality. I would have gone OLED had they been available but through my extensive research, this was the best monitor available for my needs. There are no speakers but I use headphones anyways. It is my first curved screen and I really like it. Get the feeling that it's more emersive and less eye strain. The accent lighting is neat but I don't use it. Negatives, I don't like the stand. I wish it had more rotation closer to 90°. The back panel that covers the connections is either too difficult or too easy to take off. It's weird. I have 2 major issues with it. One, the screen unexpectedly goes blank from time to time. Struggles with hrz changing?? It will always do it before a crucible match in Destiny 2 but then sometimes do it right in the middle of play. My other issue is the monitor will flicker on and off if my PlayStation, in sleep mode, is performing a background update or playing remotely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dead Pixels I bought a 32" Odyssey Neo G8 4K UHD 240Hz 1 week ago and it already has a dead pixel/pixel bleed as of a few days ago. It is so small that it may have been there on arrival and I am just now seeing it. I have talked with about 6 customer service members and they all point me towards submitting a repair request. Unfortunately, that is not possible until the warranty is 'validated', which is proving to be a rather grating process. My question is this: why is the warranty validation process such a hassle? Samsung knows that I ordered this product. I registered that specific serial number and sent in all the proof I have of its delivery, yet the warranty status was denied and now remains disputed after re-submitting. The requirements for proof of purchase/delivery are extensive, yet they only allow one photo upload to provide proof! How am I supposed to fit all that you require to validate the warranty on my product--the one Samsung already has confirmation that I bought and own--in a single picture? I do not even have the apparent option to return the product that was delivered defective, which I believe is against US consumer protection laws. All I want is a working version of the product I ordered, but if this is what I am in for as far as customer service, I may be finished with Samsung entirely. It is a shame, as my Wife and I are teachers and get excellent discounts through here.

The colors are good too.On pc its just as good too.I would definitely recommend this monitor for gaming.

The only way it works is if I unplug and replug the monitor, which then resets it back to factory settings (then I'd have to reconfigure everything). I bought it for cheap thinking (~$500) thinking I was getting a great deal but what I ended up with is disappointment. I contacted Customer Support and they told me to mail it back in a random box. I do not have the original box. I do not have packing material to protect the product in transit. Absolutely it will arrived to their repair facility in worse condition than its current state. A company of this size should be providing the packing materials to safely send items over instead of leaving consumers holding onto lemon products. Monitor is also very bulky and odd looking on the desk. Stay away from Samsung products (also had a problematic Samsung fridge in the past). This will be the last product I ever purchase from this company.

At the same time, you cannot turn on 240hz, which will cause serious scan lines on this monitor, and it is impossible to fix. It is also impossible to turn on HDR mode, which makes the display effect a disaster. All in all, if you buy it, you will get a terrible experience

I can't update my graphics card while the monitor is connected because it will go black and i have to restart the pc. It does the same thing when i turn on the pc, the screen goes black, nothing shows untill i sign in without seeing anything.

You will need a very expensive machine to get the most from it. The HDR is terrific and only surpassed by true OLED. The blacks are so deep and the monitor can get very very bright. You unless playing older titles or on lower settings will not hit the 244hz for most content. However, the g sync is great and works like a charm.

The controls for the settings are pretty solid but it having buttons and not the little toggle thing is kinda weird but whatever. The 240hz is a nice bonus but when are ever gonna need that. Overall i would recomend this.

The local dimming in combination with HDR10 gives me almost oled levels of contrast but I don't have to worry about the burn so I know I'm set for the long haul with this one. In combination of good deals they have regularly, it's really could be your end all be all monitor for gaming. 100% recommend this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will not last you more than a couple months Stopped working after less than a year, I tried to request a repair but it's not available for this product for god knows why even though I purchased an extended warranty and it hasn't even been a year yet. Every now and then the screen acts up and glitches out, but even worse in the past couple months every single time I try to play a game or even just use my computer normally the monitor shuts off on it's own (display is set to never shut off) and will not reboot without restarting my pc. Sometimes it does this once a session, sometimes it does this five times over the course of a couple hours and makes online gaming impossible. I'm tech savvy and have tried every fix possible. This monitor is just crap and samsung has done nothing to fix my problem besides telling me to do stuff I've already tried, DO NOT BUY!!!

WHEN it functions it is fine, but it constantly black screens and you can see that across the forums no matter how much they try to cover it up. Don't buy this unless you want to literally throw your money in the garbage. I have had a RMA in with Samsung since March, but due to issue on their side they have never sent the labels to actually return. I just get the same automated response that it has been escalated week after week. This has been a horrible experience.

While his previous 27-inch 4k monitor from another brand was acceptable, he needed an upgrade to complement his 4090. When we hooked up this monitor, the choirs of angels sang. Visually, it's beautiful. The design is eye-catching. The screen with its brightness and effortless curve does indeed make it an immersive experience, even outside of gameplay. The texture of his characters on Blender, Clip Studio, and whatever that 3rd one he uses, are beautiful. They look very lifelike. He stated he could better see flaws he now knows he has to touch up. He didn't leave the house all weekend; he was so happy. Wifey did good. But I always do. That's why I'm wifey. ??

However, it certainly comes down to what you value in a Monitor. If you want something that checks every box but is possibly more reliable than an OLED gaming monitor, this certainly isn't a bad choice by any means. Its HDR compatibility leaves a lot to be desired on that front, but you can certainly tinker around with it to get some interesting results. I personally use RTX HDR and or Special K to get the most from it with a custom HDR color profile.

The build quality has been excellent no burn in with mini led and still just as bright and vibrant as I got it. Also they're military offers are amazing. I got mine for a great deal.
