Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full Rich Sound I had an older, cheaper soundbar with a sub for several years. After updating to a larger OLED TV, I decided to up my sound system and got the Q800D. The sound is pretty amazing. My only regret is that I live in a home built in the early 60s, and it doesn't have enough electrical sockets to allow me to have surround speakers. That is the only thing lacking to make my setup perfect. The sound is rich with clear dialogue, and the bass is very punchy. There are enough connection options to satisfy any user.

Now it won't hit as hard especially at volume but for movies this is simply good enough at reasonable listening levels.

My apartment is small so I have my TV (Samsung QN65S95D) mounted on an articulating mount with the soundbar mounted to the bottom of my TV so that they articulate together. This way I can put my TV "away" when it's not in use and turn it 90° and face the couch when I do use it. I have Q Symphony enabled and at first I didn't expect much but it really surprised me. I turned on DUNE Part Two and it just sounded so full with that beautiful score. I never turned it off. This is the closest to true surround sound coming from just a Bar/Sub I've ever heard. It works great for games too. All the way from my couch I can tell what direction things are happening from. All around it's been a great experience. My guests love my house for movie night!

They rely on the menu system on the TV itself, which does not seem to allow much control. So the surround sound relies too heavily on the bar. The help videos on the Samsung product page do not address this....

Now I have the one speaker and the one subwoofer connected wirelessly across the room. The sound in my opinion is more crisp and the base is deeper. Movie nights are phenomenal.

I only give a 4 star review because once every few weeks the sound goes off and I have to go to my TV settings to reset the blue tooth setting to Q-sound. If you can explain why this is happening I would appreciate it

The system bounces to unwanted programs when powering on and trying to choose. It's as if the system is confused by a cookie trail. 3 the remote can go into listening mode on its own and disrupt the viewing experience.

I was told by the local high end hifi store that a maker of appliances couldn’t match what they sold. I almost fell for it, but decided to go with this unit because it is matched to the company’s tv products. I’m glad it did. This unit delivers room filling rich audio matched with the tv’s speakers and has enhanced our tv viewing experience. I don’t know what a more expensive unit would provide, but I’m not going to spend the money to find out.

It’s been paired with a 2023 QN85C and the TV speakers are better than soundbar. Done a full factory reset numerous times and updated the software. Out of warranty with no option to just buy new soundbar without subwoofer. Very disappointing to only get a year out of this give the cost.

Amazing products by Samsung, I can say I can't remember ever being disappointed by a Samsung product I rarely go with other brands only if not given the option do I! Am I a bit buyest? You bet I am, but only after years of quality products that have really been a big part of turning this house into a home. I'll add to that the Samsung product library is quite impressive!!! -N8

There’s really nothing little about the sound this system delivers coupled with my 65” Samsung QN90D Neo QLED TV. Tidy footprint for my outdoor Sunroom entertainment set-up. The TV alone has a passable sound system, but I was listening for more punch, especially watching action UHD movies and sports. The big surprise for me is the directness and quality of dialog from the front channels, particularly when voices are competing with other channel sounds like cars, planes, etc. Don’t have to lean in anymore to hear what’s going on between actors. And the wireless woofer is a monster, a real bone-rattler! Crank it up in seconds from the QLED Settings menu whenever those action movies call for that extra KABOOM! Set up is a breeze with the QLED TIZEN program walking me through the entire process. Samsung has really upped their game with this recent version of TIZEN, but more about that in my QLED review. I might have opted for the 7.2.1 system, but owing to space constraints this “little” giant of a 5.2.1 sound bar delivers all the power and quality I need for my outdoor set-up.

I have a home theater set up with a custom surround sound system that's dialed in for an amazing experience. That took me a few thousand dollars and a VERY LONG TIME to set it all up correctly. I bought this to go in our other media room for a little more immersion after a bit of research. What I wasn't expecting is to be back looking for the compatible rear speakers to complete my setup since I plugged two power cables and one HDMI into ARC in and had a nearly comparable experience to my multi thousand dollar set up.... In about 10 minutes at that.. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I feel that you won't regret it!

I was hesitant at first due to the price point, but after 4 months, I'm ecstatic, couldn't be happier. I upgraded the TV to a 65" Roku Pro Series and decided to bump the sound as well. Old set up was thru a 2 channel receiver bookshelf spkrs, with an 8" woofer. The Q800D hooked right up to eArc port, and WOW! The clarity, punch, and definition on dialog, environment, and music is amazing. I actually had to back the bass off a tad for the room (and my neighbors). Blutoothed Pandora from my phone, cranked it, and even out at the sidewalk I was a very happy camper. I never imagined a soundbar surpassing receiver sound but the Q800D does, in spades (imho). I'm as satisfied as I could be, and you should really put this one on your list for consideration.

Occasionally the speaker is not in sync with the picture I assume it’s the broadcast or my internet connection. I’m switching to fiber optic in 24 days so I’ll see if that makes a difference. If anybody reads this I would appreciate any feedback or tips. Thank You

So if you're in the market for a Audio System that's easy on the wallet as well as simple to use and is Extremely Great for Gaming and Quality of Sound during movies with your family or friends then this is the best bet! For a home theater in a small to medium size room, it's hard to think of how additional capabilities would add any value. I have a 77" Samsung OLED TV that pairs easily with this speaker + sub and it is a great combo for movies, games, TV shows, etc.

The subwoofer is especially impressive. Watching action-adventure movies will rock the house. We originally had a smaller soundbar from a different manufacturer. Though it was pretty good, this soundbar system is a super step up. I like the ability to add other Bluetooth devices to listen to music. It very closely rivals the home theater system I have connected to my home stereo system.

Dialogue and speech are detailes and cmarity is good too because od the discrete center channel, and can be enhanced using the 'Active Voice Amplifier' feature. Although, while there is some compression at max volume, unless you're throwing a party, it's fine! Overall my favorite aspect is the bass and the Dolby Atmos.

I need to go ahead and see about downloading possible updates for it I'm not sure there are any for it as of yet. Also had a problem connecting with Spotify but they seem to have worked out that problem with Spotify very pleased with the sound quality..

Combined with Q-Symphony, the combination is an excellent home theater experience. The overall size was a very big selling point for me and I'm happy with the results. The system is not as effective with the surround capabilities as would be dedicated speakers placed at ideal locations. But for me, the fact that I don't have to place speakers around my living room and find plugs for those speakers is a greater benefit to me than the more accurate surround sound (plus, can always add speakers later if desired) A solid piece of kit for anyone looking to add a sturdy and effective sound system to their TV setup.

Although the TV itself comes with good speakers, I wanted to enhance the 4K experience with a solid Dolby Atmos capable system. I initially invested in a cheap soundbar from another brand and quickly realized my mistake. Within a week, I was searching for a new sound system and wanted to avoid repeating my previous error. The best option was undoubtedly the Samsung Q990D, but my budget didn't allow for it. The next best I could afford was the Samsung Q800D, and it didn't fail to impress me at all. The soundbar itself sounded so rich and full compared to my old system. The bass vibrated my floor, and everything sounded incredibly crisp and clear. Q-Symphony is one of the best features available when you have a Samsung sound system paired with a Samsung TV. I was already in love with my setup, but when I realized the soundbar could be paired with rear speakers, I quickly purchased the Samsung SWA-9500s. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inconsistent volume The volume on this soundbar is inconsistent between channels, shows and even scenes. Sometimes I need to watch something with the remote in hand as I am constantly lowering or raising the volume. Music is playing and its loud, so I need to turn volume down. Next scene has dialogue, and volume is so low I have to turn up volume to hear it. Sound is great when volume is ok but it's a chore to constantly change volume. It is connected to a new Samsung TV and without the soundbar, volume is fine.

Sometimes I have to turn the two units off and then turn them on again to get them to pair. When it works it is fine, but it does seem awfully fussy and inconsistent.

I literally have a whole new appreciation for sounds now due to all the small little nuances and effects that are brought to life through Dolby Atmos or Dts:x. I've listened to my extensive music library now multiple times just since getting this beacuse quite simply not only does the music seem alive but honestly there are so many other cool effects I'd never heard in a song I had listened to hundreds of times even. Why!? Beacuse most speakers were not able to produce the sounds and if they were when they tried it wasn't clear and ran together with all the other noise. This soundbar is just great all around for music , movies and games and brings another level of depth with its crisp clear soundstage. A+

HOWEVER, one of my main reasons for buying this was to play music in my family room through Alexa. This is advertised as being compatible with Alexa, but BE AWARE it is anything but compatible. After spending hours on emails and contacting both Amazon Alexa support and Samsung, this can in NO WAY access the Amazon music library. It does everything else that Alexa is supposed to do, and even plays music through other streaming services like Pandora, but not Amazon Music. Seems like an easy fix from Samsung or Amazon's ends, but no one is willing to help. Samsung offered no help and just referred me to Amazon when it isn't even their product!

They work great together; we love it when the TV and the soundbar are in the Q-Symphony sound mode. In the Q-Symphony sound mode we are utilizing both the TV speakers and Soundbar speakers together. The sound is awesome. The only thing that we would like to see in the near future is a software upgrade that would allow the Auto Volume control feature to be used when in the Q-Symphony mode. The Auto Volume control feature Is not available when using an external speaker. The Auto Volume feature equalizes the sound automatically so that the volume level remains the same when you change between channels and video sources.

We have an open layout living room/ dining room and this system absolutely fills it and reels us into the films. Honestly, the only thing keeping it from a perfect 5 star is only that I wish it has a means to connect to the bottom of our TV mounted on the wall. It is a disservice to you and yours to not get a great audio setup while watching a film. Crisp 4k falls flat when you can't listen to the audio production as it was meant to be heard. This system delivers!

Watching Maverick Top Gun on this soundbar when paired with my 85 inch Samsung TV is amazing! Deep bass and amazing surround sound! I was also impressed when using it for music! Sometimes I will play music using the soundbar while watching sports and it’s like being in a bar. If you are on the fence about soundbars by this one as you will not be disappointed!

I’m not sure it is. I’ll admit, I don’t have a lot of experience with soundbars, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it doesn’t seem like anything special. I got this soundbar on Amazon as a Black Friday deal, plus took another $200 off for Amazon points. For that price, i feel like I got a good deal.

The soundbar has crystal clear sound and can get very loud. The sub provides rich low end and sounds amazing when you're glued to the screen watching a movie... it really gives the rumble which makes the scene more enjoyable. Movies hit way harder now the surround sound really pulls you in and the bass is deep without shaking the whole place. Even when I’m just cleaning or playing music in the background it fills the room with super clear sound, The vocals come through clean and everything just feels balanced. It looks clean too not bulky or distracting just fits in smooth with everything!

It's a smart t.v., gaming screen, computer screen, and security monitor all in one dynamite package. I absolutely love how the company has managed to tie it nicely with my phone, tablet, watch, and playstation with the best user interface of all the top of the line compnies. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my tiny home I use my Q800d soundbar for movies and gaming, I'm in a "tiny home" with limited space and did not have room for a receiver and full setup of surround sound speakers. My TV's built in speakers did a decent job on their own but I missed the feel of a good surround sound system. What truly sold me on this setup was the wireless subwoofer. Since it doesnt need to be wired to the main speaker I was able to place the sub behind my chair easily where I had access to another power outlet. I put my soundbar setting on surround with SpaceFir Sound Pro turned on, played with the bass and treble a little bit and then basically havent changed any settings since. The soundbar volume is controlled by the tv, and I can use the smarthings android app for adjusting the soundbar settings when I want to play with it, so I've basically stored the remote in a drawer and never needed it again (I like to have a TV setup where I only need a singular remote for everything)

Overall the sound quality is quite good, we also have a Q series television it's connected into and I think that's where a lot of the additional value comes from on this sound bar. It's ability to sync into your smart home system, Bluetooth connect, and Q Connect into your TV speaker series really gives it great range for a variety of home uses. I wouldn't say this is the top of the line for pure audio quality or bass lows but it has great daily use and broad home applications. The system has made it easy to use for hosting parties and transitioning into watching movies. Connectivity has never faltered and we have not had any issues with it over the time we've had the product! I would definitely recommend this sound bar to anyone that has a Q series Samsung Television or generally wants a smart capable sound bar

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup - Sounds Good Setup way easy. My Samsung QN90D TV instantly recognized the soundbar and faithfully sets the TV to Q-Symphony mode at every startup. Mids and highs are very good. Bass via the sub is okay. I have the sub set at +5 and it is satisfactory. +6 made it a bit too muddy. I left the mids and highs at default boost settings. Pseudo-surround, as I call it, is marginal. I'll be procuring SWA-9500S rear speakers, soon, for more authentic surround sounds. Very happy overall and would purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound quality and sleekness. Quality in sound and non-bulky design has improved our movie and online streaming experience. This setup currently works perfectly in our apartment and excited to upgrade within the Samsung family once we move into our new house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best on the market This is a great product, I have the subwoofer out of sight, with the sound bar under the Samsung OLED 65” tv. You can’t tell where some sound is coming from. It’s the perfect setup! I would highly recommend this product
