Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Samsung SSD with Maximum Performance Super fast ssd to extend my storage capabilities in my M4 Mac Mini. Currently i have it installed in a M4 Mac Mini dock going across a 10gbs usb-c and it is fully saturating that connection. I am looking at getting a separate thunderbolt 4 SSD enclosure so i can take advantage of the full speed this drive can produce. The drive was easy to format, has managed heat well, and has been rock solid in regards to usage and stability. Huge fan of the Samsung line of SSD's and this one is currently sitting at the top of all of them that i have used and tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightning-Fast Storage Boost for My Lenovo Legion! I recently installed the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB with Heatsink in my Lenovo Legion, and the difference is night and day! The installation was seamless, and the drive fit perfectly. This SSD is incredibly fast. Boot times have significantly decreased, and games load almost instantly. I’m seeing read/write speeds close to the advertised 7,450/6,900 MB/s which can be seen in the benchmark screenshot. The built-in heatsink does a great job of keeping temperatures under control, even under heavy workloads. No throttling or overheating issues so far, even during extended gaming sessions. Coming to the capacity, at 4TB, I no longer have to worry about storage space. I can keep all my games, and media in one place without juggling external drives. I used Samsung Magician to clone my old drive onto a new Samsung 990 Pro SSD, and the process was incredibly smooth. The software’s cloning tool made it simple to create a bootable copy without any hassle. The interface is user-friendly, with clear instructions that even beginners can follow.

I have been utilizing these drives exclusively for my PlayStation 5 console, and they have significantly enhanced storage capacity and loading speeds. Overall, this product is remarkable, and I would undoubtedly purchase another unit once the need arises.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best nvme drive i ever upgraded too. This drive has great storage capacity for creatives or gamers who need this much storage, very fast read and write performance, and has a great heatsync to dissipate heat quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good drive My games load quickly, and the installation and setup processes are efficient. I have not observed any issues with drive overheating, as temperatures consistently remain around 40 degrees Celsius. While 4 terabytes is a substantial capacity, the increasing size of modern games suggests that this may become a limiting factor in the future. The drive has been consistently detected upon every system startup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 990 Pro 4TB: The Gaming Upgrade That Delivers! Upgraded from the 980 2TB back in Jul 2024 and I haven’t looked back! The 4tb minimum is the way to go no degrade no lag just pure top tier performance you expect from a Samsung product. BF6, RE4, COD, AC all cruise without so much as a hiccup for hours on end. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speeds beyond your beliefs. Upgrading from an old 2.5 SATA Samsung drive to the Samsung 990 PRO with a heatsink has been a huge improvement. The difference in speed is night and day boot times, app launches, and file transfers are all way faster now. The 4TB capacity gives me plenty of space, and the heatsink keeps the drive cool under load. Overall, this SSD has made my system feel so much more responsive and snappy. If you're still using a 2.5 SATA SSD, this is a solid upgrade that’s definitely worth it for the performance boost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from File transfer and gaming beast. Worth the price I have used the Samsung Evo 990 Pro 4TB SSD and I have to say this is, if not the best ssd for gaming and it is super speedy. This beast can last you years of daily use before wearing down and the transfer speeds are really fast rather than normal ssds (I always get an average of 5GBps lowest speeds on heavy transfers and 7GBps for basic stuff) and those that are made for gaming and file transfer, with this SSD Samsung has absolutely won out every other SSD you can get for this price range. I would recommend anyone this SSD for gaming and it basic uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with PS5. Bought this for my PS5 Pro and it works beautifully. Installation is as easy as easy gets. Took maybe 30 seconds. Once installed, you turn the PS5 on and it walks you through the rest automatically. Games run lightning fast, as fast if not faster than the stock SDD the PS5 comes with. I've played extensively for the last few months and have had no issues whatsoever. PS5 doesn't get any hotter than it did before the extra drive was installed, which never got hot to begin with. Very happy customer here. If you're looking to upgrade your PS5 hard drive, this is as good as it gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing if you're willing to pay the price Honestly, it's a samsung SSD. Yes you pay a hefty price, but along with that price, you get a lot of great things. Top notch performance you'd expect from a high end storage device. Able to store a lot of games (not all, but quite a few) and load them at speeds faster than anything else out there. Haven't had issues with it. Just make sure you download and run the magician software to update the firmware at least once and you're good to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good 990 with heatsink fits and is working fine in both PS5 and PS5 pro. They did not fit in a 2024 rog nuc or any of the enclosures I had. Happy to report the non-heatsink 990 pros are doing fine as a modest Plex server in the nuc & one in an enclosure for portable stuff. Not one problem to report with any of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Better Price! I wanted an external storage PS5 upgrade that would carry me to the next level. So I impatiently waited for the Samsung SSD 990 PRO with Heatsink (4TB) to drop into my price range. It's been about a year and it's here. The upgrade was everything I was looking for. Easy to install, instant results and honestly no trouble at all to get in and get going fast. Now my PS5 has major storage and can store larger games with no worries on how much space is left on my internal storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performance and Quality Bought this as an add-on drive for my gaming PC. The 4 Tb size will ensure I have plenty of room for all my games and Adobe stuff. The drive performs very well. The RGB can be customized which is nice little touch. Note that if you have RAID turned on some features may not work properly since that mode is technically not supported. I would use the Magician app to keep the drive updated. Overall very happy with purchase.

Ordering was simple and getting a quality M.2 for my PS5 as a 4Tb version for under $400 was incredible especially because this M.2 is supposedly on of the best in the market right now. After using it for the past week I can definitely tell you it is. I was simple to install and format and once it was in I've been noticing a marked improvement to read/right speeds and with 4Tb of PS5 storage and also having a 4Tb external for all other games I won't run out of storage space anytime soon and I have 160 games in my PSN lol...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will not show up on Win11, apparently com. prblm I got this earlier this week brand new with the intention of using it as a secondary SSD on my HP Omen. So far, it shows up nowhere except disk management and storage management. I can't assign it. I can't set the volume or anything. Looking online for possible idea's, it seems that this is a fairly common issue with the 990 PRO and Windows 11 that no one has seemed to find a resolution for. Also, for whatever reason, it keeps thinking it's an External USB drive??? I have it installed internally into the secondary SSD slot. Looking a little more into it, It looks like it's running Linux on the SSD too. Not too sure if that's an issue or not. I know just enough to install and search Google for troubleshooting and Google is coming up with a lot of the same problems with no resolutions. I have a 300+ USD piece of plastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excessive storage with cooling security. Greetings. I researched several SSd cards to b3 installed in my PS5. The installation process was pretty straightforward. The system recognized the drive. Formating and moving games from the internal storage were simplified by the PS5 OS. I chose this model for the overkill in extra storage, and the integrated heat sinks are a bonus. There's no lag in playing any games that's storage on the SSD. I may add an extra heatsink pipe to replace the cover that hides the SSD for a little overkill in the cooling department. I do have my PS5 on an aftermarket vertical docking stati. cooling with several built-in cooling fans to increase the airflow. After all, why risk overheating a $300.00 plus investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast! Really Fast! Need I say more? I purchased a 2Tb 980 Pro Ssd when I purchased my laptop. I decided I needed more space when I noticed how much space my Audii Books were taking, so I shopped around and picked up the 4tb 990 Pro w/heatsink while it was on sale. I'm already upset I didn't but at least 1 more, as the amount of data we create only gets larger each year. I did have to remove the heatsink to fit the drive in my Samsung laptop, but I just put the older 980 Pro inside it. Makes for a safer portable backup that way. The 980 Pro was fast. This 990 Pro is visibly faster when copying files. I'd recommend it to anyone in need of saving their data and doing it quickly. If submit a photo, but who wants to see a pocus of a laptop? Lol!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappears from Win11/Bios. Performance Shortfall Bought 990 PRO 4tb w/ Heatsink in June 2024 and have been using it for over a month in Dell Alienware R16 running Win 11 (replacing / upgrading the 1tb stock drive). Learned about 3 significant issues online related to this drive: bad firmware, drive disappearing from Windows and Bios, and drive degradation issues - so first thing was to download the Magician software to update firmware and drivers. Despite that, I kept experiencing drive disappearance issues randomly but frequently during first few weeks. Recently changed setting to "Full Performance Mode" at all times to see if the disappearance issues would stop. This has been a disappointment. In addition, ran multiple Performance Benchmarks in Magician and never gotten close to the advertised read and write speeds up to 7450/6900 MB/s. Only getting about 6700/5700 MB/s in "Full Performance Mode" (a little higher using CrystalDiskMark but still falling short of the advertised speeds). So performance is yet another disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A User's Perspective The Samsung 990 PRO 4TB w/ Heatsink is ImpressiveI recently installed the Samsung 990 PRO 4TB NVMe SSD with the integrated heatsink, and I have to say, the performance uplift is substantial. For anyone currently using older SATA-based storage or even earlier generation NVMe drives, the difference is truly night and day.Performance: The speed is exceptional. Leveraging the PCIe 4.0 interface, this drive delivers incredibly fast boot times – the system is ready almost instantaneously. Game load times are drastically reduced, often eliminating loading screens entirely. Large file transfers complete in a fraction of the time previously required, and demanding tasks like video editing become remarkably fluid, without the stuttering or delays often associated with storage bottlenecks. It genuinely feels like a significant system upgrade.Capacity: With 4 Terabytes of space, storage limitations become a non-issue. There's ample room for the operating system, a vast library of games, numerous applications, media collections, and large project files. The convenience of having everything installed without needing to constantly manage disk space is a major benefit.Thermal Management: The included heatsink is a valuable addition. Under sustained heavy workloads, some NVMe drives can experience thermal throttling, reducing their performance. The heatsink effectively dissipates heat, ensuring the 990 PRO maintains its peak speeds consistently, even during intensive operations. It integrated cleanly into my system and provides peace of mind regarding thermal stability. Conclusion: For users seeking top-tier storage performance combined with substantial capacity, the Samsung 990 PRO 4TB with heatsink is an excellent choice. Samsung has a strong reputation in the SSD market, and this drive lives up to it. If your workflow or gaming demands high-speed access and plentiful storage, this drive delivers significantly and is a worthwhile investment. It performs reliably and exceptionally fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running in Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master. To begin with, got it same day as picked up in Best Buy. Installation was a breeze. Set it up as secondary drive to install games on it and have the full speed access to them. Absolutely happy with the performance of the drive. It has been three months since I bought it. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master, no compatibility issues at all. Highly recommended drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fast This device does exactly as it states in its description, just put the 4tb heatsink in my playstation 5 and it boots up and loads my games even faster than the original ssd does.slotting it in is extremely easy as its a nvme so a simple screw and you're done. The heatsink is perfect size as it does not interfere with putting the cover back on. All and all definitely worth its money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall a great ssd Best bang for a buck if you think 9100 is too expensive or not compatible with your system. This ssd has great speed and works flawlessly for heavy programs and games. And with 4tb storage, you can save all of the games that you'll probably only play once or even forget you have on your conputer. I have 2 of this 4tb and one of 980 pro and my PC is running smoothly and the ssd stays cool with all programs and games. Highly recommended.
