Speed test shows 7500 and 7000 MB/s. Solid drive. The software was a bonus as I used it to check the firmware and realized it also includes cloning software.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast drive, Hardware Encryption Doesn't Work Drive is fast but one of the main reasons I bought this is for the Hardware Bitlocker support which after doing everything the instructed to do, it won't work (yes I booted to the Samsung USB to do a Secure Wipe, and yes I enabled Hardware Encryption in the Magician Tool, and yes I did a clean install of Windows 11 Pro, and yes I have a modern motherboard Asus X570+ with the latest BIOS which has the latest TPM support for hardware encryption to work).

I primarily put them in MSI laptops, but recently have placed the 980's in External USB 3.2 adapters and placed the 990's in the pc's All work extremely well. I'm waiting for 4TB and larger (the 2TB's are essentially large boot drives, and larger units would be used as storage drives (superfast storage drives!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This hard drive is the bomb It is by far the fastest hard drive I own the reads and writes are unreal and it really does well in gaming. I did add an active heat sink to it that has passive cooling on it to keep the performance at top-notch on a PCI Express expansion card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 990 Pro Great Speed Great Price It is indeed a great high speed SSD with affordable price, however I would suggest to Samsung to make their SSD a little over the listed data size as I bought 2 TB I only got 1.8 TB so I lost 200 GB! Also if Samsung can improve their cloning software (Data Migration/Magician) as in my case it was not able to clone my SSD 100% and was missing on health partition and OEM/Recovery partition

Rated 5 out of 5 by from why i am buying another Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD 2TB Purchase for the speed which is okay, the first time setup write test is was the correct speed as stated but it was burst speed, the second test went back to real world speed, am happy with using external enclosure SSD case doing video editing on my computer The fastest external device I am using a TB4 cable and 40gb case, I know the speed are not what is on the box because it is not in computer, it is so much faster than my Samsung 980 PCIe NVMe SSD 1TB. I like it so much I am buying another one as a mirror backup, of course as an external device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lost in transit, Samsung refused to send another A back-to-back AWFUL experience with Samsung (refer to t7 shield reviews if interested under same name and rating). UPS lost my item and Samsung didn't notify about this, I had to check the tracking myself and then proceed to call their CS. I happened to purchase it around Black Friday and received a cashback offer from Chase so I got a good deal on it. CS told me they could issue a refund and I can reorder but I pointed out that they're asking me to pay more and that I would prefer that they just send out the product again. They transferred me to their warranty services department which couldn't send me another one and then their exchange and returns department which that agent said an accommodation could be made for me. She opened up a ticket as well as a UPS claim and told me to call back in 8-10 business days. I called back after 8 business days and asked to transfer to that department, provided the ticket number, and was then told the ticket had been closed with no reason as to why. I kept getting transferred around departments and ultimately was just offered a refund again. I don't understand why they can't just send another item out if I never received it. Another waste of my time. I have purchased phones, TVs, and storage devices from Samsung but I will not be purchasing any more of their products with their customer service being as terrible as it is.

I needed to replace my tried and true Samsung 970 1TB EVO for something a little larger, and a good deal faster which is what I got when I got the Samsung 990 2TB Pro. I am still using my original drive as auxiliary storage for non-essential files and programs, but having everything on my main drive makes things much easier and quicker with game loading and other tasks. I was very excited to be able to get it at a great price and it was super easy to install and load onto the new drive!

I bought the 980 pro before the 990 pro and had to put four 2 TB into my pc and replace all my other m.2 drives, and they are lightning fast, I get a few more FPS on my games and loading takes no time at all on any game I have installed on the drive. I would 100% recommend this drive to others looking. Just wish I knew the 4TB drives were coming out before I purchased the 2TB drives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing but issues since getting this SSD Got this SSD new from Samsung as a replacement for a 980 PRO that failed only 18 months after purchase. Since then I've continued to have constant issues with the computer freezing and requiring a reboot on a daily basis (sometimes multiple times) which happens both while the computer is in use and while it's idle. None of this was an issue before the drive replacement (other than when the computer completely died when the original failed). I guess the computer booting back up after a hard reboot, unlike the original drive, is a silver lining; but I would much rather the computer be stable again.

The performance hasn't diminished at all. I highly recommend this SSD if your looking to add an expansion or upgrade your current SSD.

I have always had good luck with Samsung products and this was no exception. I highly recommend this if you are in the market for one!
