It now runs 3x faster than it did before, and doesn't overheat either! It's amazing for gaming. I can't even believe it's even the same laptop honestly. It was also very easy to set up. I cloned over my HDD, plugged it in and it was ready to go! The Samsung Magician app is not required, but it makes it very easy to see your SSD's health and stats. I really wish I bought more than one lol I love it so much. I would love to upgrade more PC parts from Samsung in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Void if Removed Sticker Nonsense! I bought four of these with heatsinks (2x 1TB, 1x 2TB, and 1x 4TB) because the non-heatsink versions were sold out. Extremely angry to find out that there are stickers on the sides of the heatsinks that says "warrenty void if removed" because I planned to put these in devices where the heatsink is too tall to fit, e.g., external NVMe enclosures and laptops. How can removing the heatsink void the warrenty if they sell versions of the same exact thing but without the heatsink? I should return all these because of Samsung's warrenty policy is too anti-consumer.

Returned for replacement, and the 2nd one functions as advertised - maybe even a bit faster. Overalls, I'm happy with the product, but it would be nice if the manufacturer tested them individually. Heat sink "sticky tape" needs work.. Seems to be a poor heat transfer method... Needs a wire clip and good old paste heat-sink dope.

Most of the benefit is in the software to migrate the OS and update firmware. This drive should last well past its warranty period which for a Samsung Pro drive is probably pretty long.

Having said that, the Samsung 990 Pro SSD will not physically fit in the 2 - Gen III M.2 SSD hard drive slots in the HP EliteBook 17G6 Mobile Workstation due to size constraints. I just tried last night, so I went with the 990 Pro (no heatsink) X 4TB in both M.2 slots with a 4TB EVO SSD drive in the SATA open bay.

Really the hardest part is taking off the outer cover on the system and trying not to strip one of the screws. This just clicks in and is secured with a screw.

I came across my favorite product to purchase samsung and found this heat sync memory device needless to say, putting it in what's so easy. It's sync with my playstation 5, and also I noticed a big difference in speed and also ram. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs more memory? If it's 1 terabyte or more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not use as an OS drive. The drive randomly disappears from system (BIOS). Been sent in once and firmware updated, drive wiped. Worked for 3 week and repeated the same issue. A few hard reboots and the drive showed up again. Wouldn't trust this as a main drive for an operating system with any size TB as it appears it's an issue that Samsung thinks is fixed with it's latest firmware.

The heatsink helps manage thermal throttling under sustained loads quite well, just ensure that you have adequate ventilation in your system. This is excellent for gamers as it delivers fast load times. Its also ideal for large storage for photo or video editing as the heatsink again keeps the card running cool = fast read/write speeds.
