I used a 990 pro 2 to as my boot drive in a pc I built last year, it's been flawless. So I decided to add this 4tb for more game space and it's been excellent. I've gotten slightly better read/write performance than advertised. I have zero complaints, definitely recommended.

Samsung Evo Plus is the sweet spot in balancing performance and cost for secondary storage volumes. Install was a breeze, though my laptop has finicky m.2 connections. There's not much else to say. My computer has room to breathe now.

It can offer some magical numbers in sequential read/write, i.e., 7,450/6,900 MB/s. It also has storage space for 4TB for large files. The 990 Pro incorporates some interesting thermal management methods that, on one side, allow the SSD to continuously work and keep it at peak performance. Using a PCIe 4.0 interface, it efficiently receives and delivers storage read/write speed. Awesome robust design and durability over a long period are features of the 990 Pro. Even though the 990 Pro is expensive, its price is justified by speed and performance. Stable OS after clean install for about six months now. I've done multiple stress tests and full load gaming without so much as a hiccup from the drive itself on the new AM5 Ryzen 7 chip.

The only complaint is that the actual usable space is closer to 3.6 TB. Blame marketing for selling 1 TB as 1,000,000,000 and not 1,073,741,824 bytes, something they don't do for the more accurate flash memory cards in your camera or portable gaming device!

To make matters worse my XPS couldn't apply the updated firmware. I had to move it to a different computer to apply the firmware. Since the update its worked like a champ.

However, sometimes one or two large files will get corrupted and set to 0 bytes if the cord gets unplugged suddenly (which happens due to bumping into the cord).
