Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Fast, its strength and weakness. Bought this less than a week ago from Best Buy to use between my MacBook and my PC to transfer files efficiently and offline. It’s a really powerful and fast NVMe, and because it is it’s really easy to handicap it. You need a PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 motherboard and CPU - this also implies that you need either a AM5 or new gen Intel equivalent to achieve the touted 7,250 Mb/s on the box. It’s an expensive cost just to fulfill the max speed of the 990 Evo Plus. However, it will max out PCIe 3.0 and whatever enclosure you put it in, so you get your moneys worth regardless.

As for longevity, I can't speak to that yet for this product, but I have a 500 GB 860 EVO I bought in 2018 that works to this day so I expect this drive will outlive this computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny Been using the 990 EVO plus gen4 NVMe for a while now, and honestly it’s a beast. Install was super quick and my system recognized it instantly. Speed is insane. Pretty much boot times are nonexistent and apps open up instantly, and file transfers are crazy fast. Samsung claims up to 5,000mbs read speeds, and while I didn’t run benchmarks, everything just feels way snappier compared to my old Gen3 I mostly game, edit videos, and a lotvof multitasking, and this little guy keeps up with everything. No lag, no slowdowns, and it stays cool even under heavy loads. As for the price, this is easily one of the best SSDs out there (especially if you can get your hands on a discount). If you want a fast and reliable upgrade without selling your house, this is your go-to

I bought this additional ssd to be able to download more games and to be able to enjoy it on my samsung book 3 ultra. I am very astonish with how well it performs tasks such as downloading or uploading files. I have had it for 3 months now and I have never faced any issues in performance with this ssd. This ssd is very perfect for my needs in gaming and for my studies in computer science in university. I love the fact that there's also an app dedicated for the ssd for us as customers to modify performance and other essential settings, it adds more in depth of on how we can customize it as we want. It's a good value for It's price and it really exceeded my expectations. Keep up the great work samsung, I am a loyal customer to your products and I always will be.

All I can say is WOW! The performance is off the charts faster than ever imagined! Compatibility is simple plug n play and everything works the first time and every time. I am very pleased with this drive and most likely will be buying others in the future! I have one had this drive and my backup 990 Evo Plus for a couple of months but the main reason I bought this product was reliability. You just can't get any better. Everything Samsung that I have ever owned has worked for me and that is a huge relief as I don't have to worry about it breaking down and not working when I need it the most!

I chose Samsung because they make products you can install an internal SSD, where as other brands require external devices to expand storage. I turned the laptop on once for initial set up before installing the SSD. So far it loads fast and has no problem running multiple programs at the same time. Highly recommend this SSD when paired with other Samsung devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast? How about BLAZING fast. Blazing fast SSD. Use one for my Windows directly and another for my gaming SSD. The way you load windows is quick. Takes seconds. Loading games is just as fast. I've been using Samsung SSD's for years and strongly stand by their NVMe products as some of the fastest on the market. If you are a gamer, or someone who wants their computer to function at high speeds, the reading and writing capacity for Samsung is as close to fast as you can get.

I know Samsung has come out with even faster drives, but the wow factor of this thing's performance is already off the charts, so I can only imagine how much quicker the newer ones are. So far, after a year's ownership, this drive has performed flawlessly and without any appreciable slowdown. Highly recommended. No hesitation on any Samsung product. They simply work.

I purchased this 990 EVO Plus 1TB SSD. It isn't one of those 1TB drives that is only like 825GB. This one is exactly 1TB. Its transfer speed is also incredible. Games that would take hours to transfer on a traditional SATA HDD only take minutes on this NVMe SSD. It's also very versatile. I could put this in my PC, PS5, Laptop, etc. Just a quick removal of a couple panels on the device and just put it in the PCIe slot. Simple as that. I am also confident that it will last me and work just like new. I am confident that this is one of, if not the best value and overall SSD on the market right now.
