Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warranty process is a joke. Bought new in April of 2021. The SSD went bad in December of 2023. The SSD worked as it should until it didn't. The reason for a 1 star review is because of the joke of a warranty claim process Samsung has. I provided everything asked for. Received an approved confirmation number but did not receive instructions on what to do next. When I reached back out to Samsung for the next steps, they have no record of anything. They say my confirmation number is not valid even though I provide a screenshot of the # from the Samsung website. 3/23/2024 is todays date. Still playing the runaround game. Feels like Samsung is hoping I give up.

They are incredibly fast, the storage is great and the price point is very fair, I have not had any problems with them they are very functional, they are compatible with my pc parts and non modular power supply which is a great plus. I do and have reccomended these SSD cards to people who I play games with and are looking for a sleek, fast, reliable ssd with great storage and price to match.

I have about 20% space left on this drive and I haven't noticed any lag at all. It's the first time I've had to drive that didn't affect the overall performance of the system because it had too much information on it. It was always kind of upsetting because isn't that the point? Aren't you supposed to be able to fill it up with the things that are important to you or the things that you need for your project or job? You shouldn't have to buy a portable drive every time the hard drive of your computer gets a little bit full in order for your system to continue working smoothly. I won't be buying anything except Samsung from here on out.

I did the same with music. One side has Spanish music completely cataloged and caterized in types of music like salsa, murrengue, bachatta ete. The othe side is English with the same format cataloged and caterized in. R&B, Disco, Rock, 80, 90, Disco music etc. Hold tons of music and mp3. Very pleased with this. Easy to carry and connect. I bought my drive about 7 months ago and have since bought several other samsung drives but in the ssd variety and i have been just simply put impressed by their performance. Not only are the transfer speeds you get top notch and incredible but the bundled software is very useful and helpful as well as includes a bunch of amazing features such as optimizations for making the drives even faster or to make them last longer then the long time they already have proven themselves to be able to last. I did a lot of research before investing in memory for my gaming pc and every where i looked said these samsung branded drives were one of the best you can get. I also read that a lot of other brands actually use samsung chips in their drives anyways. All in all if you in the market for new drives then you cant go wrong with samsungs selection of equipment.

The funny thing is when I connected it to another computer it corps be read but started that it needed to be formatted. I eventually sent it in for a recovery. Samsung eventually recovered the data and put it on a new drive. But unfortunately it took 6 months, so by then I had to reset my computer because all the software was on the previous drive and I computer reinstall it because the windows got confused since the old drive was gone and it still thought it was there. Just a lot of problems. I actually souks have taken my computer to a computer technician instead of relying on Samsungs recovery service.

Both form and function matter in today's portable technology. We want our phones and laptops to be light, functional and good looking. Our peripherals should look and work great too. My drive connects easily and works great. Two terabytes of external storage is a great thing to have when we need so much of it. This drive makes our pictures, videos and music both safe and easily transported. We deserve a drive that looks as great as it functions. My phone, my TV, my monitor and my laptop are Samsung products. I trust Samsung to meet my electronic needs. Why would I choose less than a Samsung external drive to meet my storage needs?

I've never had any issues with any of Samsung's storage devices for my photography business I rely on only Samsung products for storage of all of my photos and videos for my entire business. I must have about 12 different Samsung storage devices for my computers my network my cameras my video cameras and everything else even my register is backed up to a Samsung storage device.

Next thing I know I see an ad for this one and decided to check it out. I didn't jump the gun right away before I did research on it. This was actually a great buy for my ps4 slim, perfect fitting, great amount of space, and very fast compared to my old hard drive. I'm glad I bought one when I did and will definitely plan on buying the other ssd for my ps5 pro once I get my hands on that. I recommend this for anyone and it's a good buy in my book.

Originally I bought it to replace my dying Ps4 pro hard drive, but having a family makes gaming very difficult! So I replaced the 870 with a 1tb hdd and put the 870 into an older gaming laptop I recently purchased. The start up time went from ~1 min to less than 10 seconds! I could not be happier with this product. I highly recommend it if you need a sata drive. Whether you need a replacement for your gaming console or computer, it's amazing! (if you need to replace you ps4 drive take note thay only the ps4 pro will take full advantage of this drive as only the ps4 pro modules support sata 3)

I got the Samsung Portable SSD 17 Touch 3.2 / 1TB in black. And, YES I got black of course. That beautiful, sleek almost like silk. Plus everything I own except the Samsung Profector is black. I didn't realize I was running and playing so much and then one day my Samsung TV and my Tablet just spotted not like it crashed but, just stored. Nothing was moving. I went to an electronics store ( I would mention but as an influencer I bet paid or products for add placent) while there I figured out it was my lack of storage. When you have a family all using they same couple computers/ tablets believe you me when I tell ya, they will burn through your memory like the sun. I'm supervised myself, I have any storage space left in my body, lol. Ever have one of those moments you want to just leave your oldest kid at the MALL.

I never have had a device with this size memory that didn't have some trouble with accessing its memory or had impossible loading times. Swap that normally takes approximately 10minutes was completed (including OS upgrades) in less than 5. With 16gb memory installed my personal laptop performs better than my work machines.

I had been interested in switching to an SSD drive for quite a while, and when my 2TB drive started slowing, it was finally time to take the plunge. I had researched several brands of SSDs on the market, and since I had excellent experience with Samsung products in the past, I opted for the 870 EVO 2TB drive. Transfer was a breeze with software, and had my drive perfectly cloned and installed in a relatively short period of time. What I noticed immediately was the almost lightning speed boot into Windows and the amazing overall performance. Opening and closing windows and programs was almost seamless and without hesitation. Transferring large files that would have otherwise taken several minutes, took only seconds. Games loaded and played with a performance I hadn't experienced before. Just amazing!

This thing jas worked amazimg since the day I installed it. Everything I have loaded on it boots up so quickly. I wouldn't say it could keep up with The Flash, but dang if it isn't too terribly far behind! No for my only quasi-complaint. There isn't more than 2tb on here and that's it. So nothing really, just that now days you can fill up 2tb super quick. Other than that it's a super solid piece of hardware that I would recommend to everyone.

I bought two 870 Evo 500 GB SSDs 34 months (2 yr & 10 mon) ago. Used Macrium Reflect to clone from 256 GB HDD to 500 GB SSD. Old cases required 2.5 inch cages to hold SSD drives. Power up to Win10 login screen is 43 seconds. Still works great in both PCs.

The drive is quick and has been reliable for about 4 years now. I didn't need to whole 2 TBs for the primary so I split the drive and I am running a dual boot with Linux and Windows without issues.

Compatible with a variety of PC specs and if you want to know everything that goes on with the ssd you must download the SAMSUNG MAGICIAN app. .I definitely feel like I made the right choice for my pc by picking this product.

Had NO trouble setting it up and paired with the Samsung magician it's easy to see the performance. Has very good compatibility, very good read and write speeds, and a nice sleek design. Is definitely an upgrade to any PC and the best ssd I've had to date!

Unfortunately, my motherboard had some defects that would not let me use my upgraded iMac after a month. I then retrieved the SSD and installed it into a Ugreen USB-C enclosure and I am now using it with my brand new Macbook laptop. It is still functioning perfectly and I am quite pleased with this super fast SSD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid performance and reliability. I bought this drive last year to add to the existing 3 870 EVO 2TB drives in my workstation bringing the total to 4. Why? I was running RAID 5 but quickly wanted to change to RAID 10 and needed another drive to accomplish that. These are essentially internal 'data' storage drives that I keep all the stuff that isn't 'installed' on my boot drive (Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB). There are 2 other EVO 970 Plus drives on the motherboard as well. Every solid state drive I have ever owned (many) has been a Samsung. I find them to be super reliable and reasonably priced. Even my phone (S22+) and one of my monitors (Odyssey G7 32") is a Samsung. Fanboy? Hardly. I just like stuff that works well and wouldn't buy them if they were sketchy. Need a solid state drive? Look no further than Samsung.

In less than a years, I started getting read errors when running backup software. SMART tests said the drives were failing. I emailed the requested info for warranty claims, and the confirmation emails said replies are typically within 24 hours. But 24 hours has come and gone, and...no response I've had no problems with 1TB 860 EVO drives, which I used for years, so this is a nightmare. Time to try another brand.

It was very easy to install. I partitioned in half and have my Forza racing games on one half and my Truck driving games on the other. I love it. I think when I buy the second one, it will be for my operating system and I will replace my old HDD drive.

That isn't any fault if this product though so in light of that this product is a good product in that it does what they promise performance wise and even can surpass those promised speeds but with a few caveats when using samsungs magician software to boost the performance. I like the magician software as well my only gripe with it is that it only supports samsung drives when it comes to certain features and stats. The drive runs incredibly cool Temps wise and I really like how the software tracks the life span and shows it to you with all other kinds of performance info on the easy to read and easy to find dashboard. I bought this at the sametime as buying a samsung 990 nvme m.2 drive which also was a amazing device. For systems like mine that only came with one m.2 slot the sata drives can be a welcomed addition to expanding your storage capabilities. For me I have actually 8 drives in total on my pc several are sata 3 and several are ran threw a nmve to pcie adapter, and I use it for mostly gaming but have plans on using it for a storage server so this way I can have my own free cloud storage set up in the near future.

I recently had trouble accessing my Samsung SSD that's connected to my router, but I was so sure that the issue was not with the SSD so I went troubleshooting the router and that fixed my issue. The point is that I trust my Samsung SSD that much that I didn't bother suspecting it to be the issue.

This allows me to quickly transfer games from this 2 TB SSD to my Xbox One X internal hard drive as it fills up quickly. I the transfer speeds are superb and I can transfer around 20 Gigabytes (GB) per minute so games move quickly when needed. While you can't play enhanced Xbox directly from this drive (Microsoft does this to make you buy their official SSD to add storage) but this works great and has worked flawlessly for years.

I actually put it in my musical keyboard for music production. It's a company called Akai and it's really the only brand I trust for it right know. The formatting was easy on my computer because I have a 4tb ssd 990 that iI downloaded the samsung software with. Great speed has not crashed or froze. I always try to catch samsung sales though because it's more economical for me. Just always be mindful of what you put on your computer (malware,virus, etc) avoid at all cost and you won't regret a samsung drive.

Im a musician and storage space for recordings are never enough. My computer runs so much faster and smoother since I upgraded to this SSD. The storage capacity is fantastic and allows me to store all of my files without worry. The installation was a breeze and I have had zero issues with it ever since. I highly recommend the 870 EVO 2TB to anyone looking to upgrade their computer's storage and performance. It's definitely worth the investment!
