Migration platform to 5Ghz; supports both 802.11b and 802.11a cards (today and tomorrow's technology)
The AP-2000 Access Point is a full featured wireless bridge that extends the range of wired Ethernet networks and enables easy migration to 5GHz. Dual slot architecture provides configuration flexibility and increased network capacity through the use of two Network Interface Cards. With a high performance 11Mbps data rate and a wide coverage range of 1750/550m, the AP-2000 is the ideal solution for the Enterprise.
Features:
Web-based, full SNMP management, with Embedded Telnet/CLI support
Power over Ethernet support
High performance 11Mbps data rate
Wide coverage range of up to 1,750ft/550 m
WEP and 128 RC4 encryption and MAC Address Control Table and Radius Authentication.
IEEE 802.1x for enhanced security of the Wi-Fi system with user-based authentication and automatic WEP key distribution
Industry-leading radio design
IEEE 802.11b (Wi-Fi) certified
Dual slot architecture for optimal configuration flexibility and migration to 5GHz radio technology
Powerful performance for the most demanding network applications, ready for the high speeds of future radio technology
Enhanced roaming across disparate locations and infrastructures
High security : supports the 802.1x security standard (supported by XP)
Feature: WDS - Wireless Distribution systems; allows roaming from cell to cell (so if you want to cover a really big location, warehouse or so, you can put one AP on one end and one in the middle and you cover seamlessly the whole space; the AP serves as an AP and a repeater for the first AP)
Web browser management; easier to manage
