Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expected better from Otterbox It’s very difficult to open the front, so I’m getting used to leaving it folded back, unless I go out. The plastic also feels a bit cheap. On the plus side, the more upright of its two positions is really nice, just right. There aren’t many options yet for the 11” 3rd gen, but I’ll be keeping my eyes open for a more satisfactory folio case.

The rich blue color and the sleek design, made my tablet look stylish. The cover was easy to get on and fit my iPad perfectly. I was impressed by the durable material which is also easy to keep clean.

The other cases I had in the past only covered the front and back and came off easily. This case looks good and provides a lot of protection and fits snug. Definitely recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware - Poor Design - Magnets Too Weak I bought four of these and all four of them have the same issue. The magnets in the cover are too weak, and it constantly collapses in the upright position. I tried this with each of the four cases, and all of them collapsed in the same way. Additionally, it was impossible to hold with the cover folded up, as it would collapse in my hands as well. Unfortunately will need to return these and purchase another brand.

The old one was fine, but this new revision (appereantly V2?) absolutely sucks. The screen sits at an uncomfortable angle, and in normal use the iPad tips over often due to the magnet failing. Can't recommend this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not buy, look somewhere else. Otterbox is well known for their rugged, well-made cases. I have their old version of the symmetry case on my iPad Pro 2018. However, I upgraded to this one with the new M2 Ipad Pro. The old one was fantastic, great quality, and I never once had an issue. Let me tell you, this one is garbage. Stand can barely hold up the iPad due to weak magnets, pencil holder is cumbersome to get pencil in and out of, and the entire thing feels like a cheap rip off version of their previous version. This case has changed how I see Otterbox and their quality standards... I actually am going to return this and go and buy the old one off amazon even though it doesn't perfectly fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frustrating product When I bought my iPad Pro last summer I was very excited to also buy a bright orange cover for it. After just a couple weeks, the pencil sleeve fell off, and I couldn't get it back on, so I got a replacement for it on the warranty. Imagine my dismay when the replacement case had the same issue. I've been wrangling with the sleeve, trying to get it to snap back into place, but it's not working. As cool as it looks, there is no way that I would get another one of these: at $90+, it needs to be as trouble-free as possible. And when it malfunctions, it needs to be easily fixable so that I can use it again and not have to continue to replace it (at my expense for shipping). How hard is it to make a dependable product?!

The case is not constructed well, the tablet frequently falls when open in the landscape config., the magnets on the cover aren’t strong enough to keep the flap open and the pencil holder is useless. Not quite what I expected for the price. I had two earlier versions of the Otterbox (with the flap) for my older iPad Pro they were great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pencil Holder Clips Will Not Stat Secured I’ve had two of these and have the same issue as many others. Pencil holder clips will not stay on. I don’t have a pencil so don’t pull that part up but when I go to remove the case to switch to a Magic Keyboard the clips pop off and won’t snap back in place and stay on. First time I called they charged me the $10 shipping fee. Second time no fee. Please beware! Third one is on its way but with same design expecting the same result.

The power & volume buttons now “click” distinctively, which always frustrated me on the “double click” for Face ID. But I DO NOT like the new way the case incorporates the Apple Pencil. It’s way to hard to get in and out. Maybe I’ll get used to it. But I can already see myself dropping the pencil when trying to remove it.

The big problem is the design for the pencil cover. Mine pulled off by simply sliding the iPad into a messenger bag after teaching class. I agree with other reviewers that the front cover is awkward to open and access to the pencil was finicky. I guess I just didn't expect that I would need to purchase a second sleeve to protect the Otter product.

I wish the front cover had a latch that connects to the back cover when closed (I had a Speck cover on my previous iPad and it had this feature). The cover is difficult to open.

I could live with that, the deal breaker is the new way the pencil is stored. Prior versions had a flap that you could put on when you needed it and take off when you were using for easy access. This version almost locks the pencil in and then makes it difficult to remove. I will be returning mine to the apple store.

We have purchased many OtterBox iPhone cases and have been happy with them but the quality on this iPad case is not up to par. I would not recommend.

I purchased the Symmetry series for my new iPad. The case seemed to fit well. I didn’t research the case as I assumed it would have the same OB quality I come to expect. After 4 weeks the pencil flap fell off and could not be reattached. The flaps will not support the pad in anyway useful. What are my opinions at this point? I’m anxious to see how OB handles this problem. Thank you for your consideration

I have used them since the first iPhone 4 came out. I have tried others but keep coming back to the Otterbox.

I guess I’m still within return policy but I ordered it online, and for some reason it gives me anxiety to return it, so I’ll keep it. It lays so flat that you have to try to peel it off the screen, once the case is open it’s great. Stands well, protects well.

The slightest movement makes it collapse - warning do not keep a cup of coffee etc behind the Ipad! Like others, I have previous models which were great. The magnet was strong enough to hold the Ipad up. This has zero magnet attraction to keep the folded lid attached to the base of the case when standing the Ipad up. This is not rocket science, guys. Pretty basic requirement. I also agree with others that the mechanism to hold the pen is flimsy. The only advantage to the old model is that there is not flap to get in the way. All in all a total flop (literally and figuratively). I will be returning this to the Apple Store asap.

I loved the pencil holder and charging capability. HOWEVER, the pencil holder has fallen off and impossible to reattach it. I see that this seems to be a a complaint by many other users. There is obviously a design flaw that needs to be corrected. Is there a new version available that solves this issue?

I had an otter box symmetry on my previous IPad Pro, I tried to use it but the camera is a different shape and would not fit. I purchased This new symmetry since I loved my old case. This has a flimsy plastic pencil holder that dislodged from the back of the case within a week. Also, the screen cover is impossible to lift Do not waste your money. The old case was 100% better. These improvements that were made are poorly designed

The stand is unreliable and falls regularly despite efforts to stabilize the triangle before releasing. The sliding Apple pen holder snaps off regularly and needs a hammer to go back in. Cheap Amazon cases perform better.

Even the Apple tecs I spoke with believe it’s a design flaw, so I returned to Apple. They think the flap was leftover from a previous design to save money. I loved my previous cover from Otterbox on my previous iPad Pro, and it opened fine.

When I removed the case after 3 years, my iPad looked like new. This one protects somewhat but not to the degree of the first so I am a bit disappointed.

This is my first Otterbox purchase and I trusted the reputation for a quality product. Sadly, that trust is broken and I probably could have purchased the same quality from Amazon for far less money. Of course, by the time I used it and realized the lack of quality, it was too late for a return of the case to choose something more suitable.

I couldn’t leave a review on the Australia website because they don’t have reviews. Back to the poorly made case, when closing the cover the pencil compartment fell off and I lost grip and the case ended up falling out of my hand and my iPad Pro hit the coffee table and smashed. Would I recommended this case? No way Did Otterbox help? Of course not Offered to exchange the case only Thanks for nothing Otterbox

I had this case for the iPad Air 4th Gen and loved it—The stand was sturdy, the pencil flap was easy to use and held the cover in place when folded over, and the case looked good. The updates on the symmetry elite are a disaster. The magnets are weak making the the stand the weakest of any case I’ve ever used. The pencil tray is annoying and unnecessary. The old Symmetry 360 was the perfect case for IPad, one I would’ve been happy to use for every future iPad. Unfortunately, I now have to look elsewhere.

However, I've had the pencil holder piece pop off multiple times, but have been able to reattach it. Whenever I try to use the folio cover as a stand it falls down very easily. I wish I had done more research before buying this case at the Apple Store.

I’ve had no problems with Otter Box cases in the past, but this falls over with the SLIGHTEST TOUCH. I have to buy new ones - these are UNUSEABLE. All three exhibit the same behavior, suggesting it is a design issue not weak magnets.

The current pencil tray breaks to easily and is a pain to use. Also the stand feature isn’t as strong as other cases. The previous version of this case was the best on the market. I’d they go back to that design I’ll get for every iPad I ever own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a good Ipad Cover I placed my order on 09/27 and just received my order on 10/3 so that is okay. Be warned, they may tell you (as their customer agent on the phone did with me) that they ship UPS, but they actually use UPS Mail Innovation which combines UPS with USPS. Essentially UPS delivers the package to USPS and USPS delievers it to you. That's fine if you get USPS mail delivery to your home. If you do not, it creates a problem. That being said, I solved that problem and my case came relatively quickly. However, Otter Box sent me the wrong case. I have a ipad Pro 11" (4th Generation). When I tried to put it in the case, it was a struggle. Instead of forcing it, I stopped, looked at the packaging box and discovered that the case they sent me was for iPad Pro 11" (1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation). I double checked, and I defintely ordered the 4th Generation Case. Then I checked the product page for each case, and they are identical. The SKU numbers are identica and the product info for each case the information is identical, including reviews and questions for each product. They are the same. Even though Otter Box says they are selling an ipad Pro 11" (4th Generation) Case they are not. It will not fit. Further, I also ordered a case for a 10.5" ipad Pro. While it fit, the color of the case is much darker than the Burgundy adverstidsed. Additonally, the stand is horrible. I could not get the case to stand up as pictured on either Otter Box's website or the product box. Since the design is virtually the same for the 10.5" case and the 11" case, I predict there were be a similar difficulty with stand on that case. The case I bought for the 4th Generation ipad Pro is also materially pretty flimsly. There are much better cases for Ipads on the market. I will stick to Otter Box for my phone cases. This is my first negative reaction to an Otter Box product. I have consistenly used Otter Box products for my iPhones over the years, particularly the Otter Box Defender Series (for my 4s and later 6s+) and for my iphone 15 Pro, I will be "upgrading" to the Fre Series when it released because it offers more protection. I have contacted customer suppport and started the return process. The first version had a second “flap” that would wrap the pencil and secure with a magnet. It worked quite well. This new version slides in and out and constantly in lips and falls off. Redesign failure. The remainder of the case is the same design and meets the typical high quality Otterbox criteria. Bummer about the pencil holder design.

Otter box products have really gone downhill and this isnt the first issues I have had recently, had major issues with iphone 14 pro defender cases X4

This iPad case is really excellent - I don’t need super heavy-duty protection, just something to keep it from getting scratched or banged up during everyday use. This case provides that. It’s easy to put it on the iPad, and has that nice magnetic closure feature, where it turns off your screen when you close the case. You can also use the case to prop up your iPad on a surface…such as a table, while you’re eating breakfast. Works much better than propping it against the milk carton, I can tell you.

And this was not a forceful bump action that caused the break. Annoyingly it happened on day 16, 1 day after the Apple receipt expiration date. There are a few on the market for half the price that have better reviews. I will not purchase another 90 dollar OtterBox case again. Not worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go back to the original design I have the original version of this for my old iPad Pro. It is the best case I have found for the iPad/pencil combo. The flap closes securely, and fits around the pencil. The second version, which has the camera cutout to fit the newer IPads doesn’t have a secure flap closure. It just flips open when the pencil is charging and won’t stay in place. And now this new one doesn’t have any closure at all. Please bring back the original design (1st gen) but with cutouts to accommodate the new iPad pro’s camera and speakers.

It’s a sturdy case, the magnet closure is tight but easy to open, the pen enclosure is much better than the flap from the last version, and the buttons and hole for the power cord work great. The only decision I was struggling with was whether to get a case/keyboard combo. I’m glad I went with this. If I need a keyboard I’ll buy a portable one. This is perfect for sitting in a chair and doing the mundane stuff we all do at home.

I have had this case for a year now and this is a great case and protects the iPad extremely well. It has a sleek design and does not add a lot of bulk like traditional Otterboxes. As a pilot and graduate student I am constantly using my IPad and especially the Apple Pencil. As iPad owners we all know that the magnet holding the apple pencil is not always reliable (have dropped and lost the pencil many times) but this case does a fantastic job securing the pencil to the case. This case gives me the peace of mind when I am using it and I never have to worry about normal wear and tear. DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED BY THE PRICE. It has been worth every penny and you will not have to buy another case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love this case I LOVE this case it’s minimal is size unlike a lot of otterbox products but it protects the iPad as needed. My FAVORITE feature of this case is the expandable area for if you have and Apple Pencil to attach to the iPad. If you have one you just slide up the side compartment and it has some resistance to the opening to keep the pencil secure. If you don’t have a pencil attached the compartment goes back to normal and there are no added notches. I love the color and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to So I ordered this cause the one I had previously feel apart after 4 years of continuous use. The old model was unavailable. I have 1 issue with this new model which is the foldable stand. The old model was rock solid. This one I'm constantly having to support the back of it so it doesn't fall over. It's almost like the case can just barely support the weight of the iPad, and any additional pressure pushes it right over. Not sure if there is a fix for this or not. Other than that, it is a great case and definitely protects the entire ipad, so no issues there

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grrrr! I bought this to replace the well-loved Symmetry 360 case on my older iPad Pro 11. The specs say this case should fit. I cannot turn the iPad on or off with the case on. I have to remove the corner to activate the button. What? My former Symmetry case was just about perfect — I used it until the spine started to fray. I love the new Apple Pencil holder on this version. But really, if the case won’t let you turn the device on and off, what good is it? What I don’t know is if the power button will work with my new iPad pro gen 3. But apple said this one would work with previous iPad Pro 11 inch models. And it just doesn’t, although the fit seems fine. Your website says these are currently out of stock. I hope that Otterbox is retooling the case to work better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best option for the 3rd Gen Works as advertised. Adds security without a lot of bulk. Disagree with the other reviewers on the flap closing too tight. All you have to do is slide the case front to one side and down and the flap is easy to flip open with one hand. The pen holder is elegant, easily slides open and the pen can be removed with one hand. The material seems to resist fingerprints pretty well, and I like the clear back. It would be cool if they could work the pen holder into the hinge. And would suggest a rear-of-front groove to nest the folded segment when it's used as a landscape stand.

However, after only a few weeks of light use, I am already seeing some wear on one of the inside corners of the front cover. The pen storage feature is nice, but needs to stronger so that it doesn't fall off so easily. What is most frustrating is that, when using my iPad at an angle, the case collapses at the slightest touch. Not the quality I was expecting for the price or from OtterBox!

But I get the feeling that the people that designed it didn't bother to try it to see how well it works. It holds onto the pencil too firmly , you won't accidently lose your pencil unless it goes flying when you try to pry from its clutches . I decided to return it to Apple and buy the previous version ( 2nd Gen . It was also super hard to get my new iPad Pro into or out of this case , much harder than the 1st gen version, I got the feeling the tolerances might a bit off ???

I used this case for a few months but the compartment for pen came of track. Without the pen holder this case loses the functionality component that sets it apart from others. If you’re looking for a sleek case with a pen holder, I do not recommend this case because the construction of the pen compartment is lacking.

I have always had the fender cases for my other phones and iPads, and have been extremely pleased but this symmetry series is not worth the money.

I’ve tried to reattach it but it won’t so now it’s useless. The screen cover also lays flat against the screen making it VERY difficult to lift it. The material feels like cheap, thin plastic which is so disappointing since the case is so expensive. I have an otter box for my phone which I love but if you’re looking for an iPad Pro case don’t bother with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice product but I like the earlier model better I bought this as a replacement for my previous symmetry cover. The old one had a fold over flap to close the case. This new case uses the same materials and is similar (very good quality, but it is much more difficult to get the pencil from the holder-slot and I have to use a fingernail to lift the flap open. All in all, I wish I had the old model. I don’t know if there were better options since I really wanted the otter box brand, but I really don’t like having to use my fingernails as a tool to open the case.

The case itself is well constructed, good looking and seems to protect the iPad well. The Apple Pencil holder tray is a great concept but is held on by small magnets which are not strong enough to prevent the pencil holder from frequently becoming unseated or falling off when bumped even lightly in the open position. This is a annoying although the pencil holder is easily placed back in position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weak magnets and flimsy design for the price point This is my second attempt ever purchasing an otterbox product after using speck for my iPhones for years and boy was I disappointed What are you up to today? Are you free later for me to call? all over again. It’s a bummer because this brand has a good reputation except I haven’t experienced that in the products I’ve tried. This case specifically yes wraps around every edge of the device and I like the idea of a clear back to show off stickers, but the material is cheap and scratch prone. My main complaint is the magnets in the folding stand are terrible, absolutely terrible. I couldn’t forgive it honestly. Any amount of force to the upper half of the screen when folded upright causes the setup to fall over like a house of cards. It’s super annoying especially when attempting to draw with your pencil. The first otterbox product I tried was the blue symmetry case for my new iPhone 12 Pro. I was stoked on the design and trusted otterbox’s reputation but after not even a month of not heavy use, the case stretched and didn’t stay snug on the phone. Mind you this was during Covid lockdown when I never left the house or out my phone in pockets really to even wear down this case. I figured it was a new design for otterbox and learned my lesson. Apparently I didn’t learn enough cause once again a product with “symmetry” in the name burned me once again. I imagine or hope defender products might be a better experience, but otterbox seems to be unable to make slick or cool looking design be functional. Avoid this product especially at its price point. Do better otterbox

My new iPad was issued with the new OtterBox Symmetry 360 Elite case. The magnets in the cover are very weak and the iPad falls often when touching the screen when standing upright. The pencil tray is exposed on the edge and can get caught when putting the iPad into a backpack or sleeve. Yes the pencil tray can be re installed, but count your self lucky if you realize it in time to not loose your pencil. I wrote this review after reading the previous replies from Otter Box, the best thing the company could do in this case is recall the product and issue re designed cases. The new model is quite a step back in design. If I had personally paid for it, it would have returned it already.

My iPad pro is my son's favorite electronic to play with, but I was always so nervous to let him borrow it. But I know my Otterbox will keep my s reen safe from accidental drops, bangs, and bumps. And it is actually semi stylish. So happy with this tablet case!

The front flap sits flush with the screen, making it impossible to open when you are in a hurry. The pencil holder is way too flimsy, and the back shows all fingerprints. I should have read all of the reviews before purchasing. I will be promptly returning this case and stick to the $15 Amazon one I bought until this arrived. I expected better from Otter Box.

It works more like a $20-$30 priced product you get from somewhere else..... The main issue is the pencil holder keeps popping off, sometimes sending the apple pencil sailing to the ground.

Not happy with this purchase. I was expecting this cover to be a better version that the previous. It’s not, shame. First time I’ve ever had a problem with OtterBox products.

Their purchase, replacement, and return policies are just awesome. The iPad Pro 11-inch Otter Boxes I recently purchased allow us to safely take our iPads to work and play without detracting from the streamlined nature of our Apple products.
