Great, but could fit tighter.
Overall pretty good, but the phone doesn’t fit super tight in the case. The top and bottom move in and out is the case slightly when the screen is touched (at the top and bottom) making a clicking noise. Wish it had more soft material on the inside so the phone fit snugger.

Unique & Durable
After a few weeks with the new Sole Series Case on my iPhone 17, I have to say this is one of my favorite cases from Otterbox yet! I've had many different cases over the years (commuter, defender) and have always found them to provide excellent protection. This case is a great addition to the lineup!
I especially like the ridges around the edges of the case and the grid fabric backing. To be clear, the fabric is sturdy and on the outside and it seems like there is still a durable plastic cover behind it.
The small finger lanyard looked really cool, but I ended up removing it because it was never that comfortable for me. Otherwise, I reccomend this case fully!

Functional & cute
I’ve trusted Otterbox for over 10 years now. I first tried the Otterbox Defender Series with my iPhone 4 back in 2009. I’ve consistently used Otterbox products for my iPhone & iPad since. This is my first time trying the Sole Series; I like the case it’s both functional & cute. It meets the quality I expect from Otterbox, I like the string on the case.

Case description misleading. The case itself is not grippy, and can fall out of your hands pretty easily.

Not what I expected
I didn’t like my case as much as I thought I would. I removed the little string at the bottom because I kept catching it with my finger. And the rough edges were rubbing on my pinkie finger while I held the phone. Ended up buying a different case made of softer rubber and now I’m happy ??

Good but room for improvements
I wish the lanyard was big enough for my wrist but it’s not. I like how rugged the case feels. I like the pink color since in defender they had no pink option. It’s a little rough on hands but I didn’t notice it as much until I picked up my old phone with my old smooth case. So I’d say I like this one. It’s solid.

The Sole series otterbox fit my new iPhone 17 perfectly. The tennis shoe surround and small lanyard are well thought-out and give me great confidence my expense phone is protected. The raised surrounding rib is just tall enough to keep the screen and camera lenses clear of rough surfaces…A huge long term plus. This is my 3rd iPhone otterbox and prefer the mil-spec design of the sole series for its simplicity and toughness. I also want to throw out kudos to the design team for the addition of the small lanyard, I tend to leave it hanging just out of my jacket or vest pocket for almost instant phone retrieval with one finger.
