Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broke right out of the box... I bought this case for my moms new iPhone. The pop socket was broken when I opened the box. I put the case on anyway. the case is supposed to work with wireless charging but I can’t get the phone to charge with the case on. Used the online warranty claim to report it and I have to pay $7 for a new one. Wish I would have bought it from a store so I could have just exchanged it free of charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I want to love it I bought this for the new iPhone 12 pro max. I really love the case and design. I’ve dropped it a couple of times. It’s not broken yet. The biggest flaw is that I can’t charge my phone on the pop wireless charger. For some reason, even when it is positioned at the center of the phone, it never gets fully charged. I’m really bummed because I want to love this case but now I can’t use the wireless charger I bought only a few months ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great concept I bought this 2 weeks ago and I’m not completely satisfied, the fact the the inside of the case only makes contact w the phone in a few spots makes me slightly uncomfortable. I’m a male with larger hands and I can’t really get comfortably under the pop socket.

However, the one thing I don’t like is that the “Pop” will not support the phone if you put it down. I used to be able to use FaceTime and stand my phone up on the counter. Now I have to either hold my phone or prop it up in order to use it. A nice to have would be a magnet to use the car phone holder.

Currently using it for my iPhone 12PM, and this case is fantastic. It is a well built case that protects all sides and edges of my phone. The built in pop socket is great for one handed use and propping the phone up. When on its side and propped with the pop socket, you have to put the camera side down or else it’ll flip over due to the camera and lens being heavier. Simple gravity. I’m thrilled with the Polar Vortex color! Beautiful and stands out! Another great case by Otterbox!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the built-in Pop Socket I like the color of this case and the built-in Pop Socket. I find it easy to pop out and it is easy to hold. The case seems like it will protect my phone if it suffers an accidental fall. I wish it had more of a gripping type material around the edges of the case. The back of the case is on the slick side, so some rubber along the sides would make it easier to hold on to. There are no covers for the ports, but that wasn't a concern to me. The case wrap around the top of the phone enough to help against damage if you drop it - I do have a glass shield on the screen. The last thing I wanted to note is you can't just extended the pop socket and prop your phone up, I have to tip the pop socket to hold the phone, as seen in the photo.

The pop socket features is my main reason for getting this model, as well as the bright white color (black cases just disappear, people! The pop socket saves your hand from cramping and it being built-in to the construction is just what the Phone Doctor ordered! All the controls work well in the case additionally…I just wish all boxes came WITH the glass protector!!

I’d read some reports of people struggling to get the phone in their cases but, didn’t pour much stock in them. I was very disappointed at how hard it was to get the phone in my new case and even more disappointed to see stress damage at the bottom corners of the case once it was installed. Not to mention the defective glass I was sent, have filed a claim on, and heard nothing back.

However I can not use my wireless charging stand without removing the case. Case is a very tight fit so it is hard to remove. Other than that I love the case

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First and last Otterbox Purchase I bought 2 of these, one for my iPhone 11 Pro and one for an iPhone 12 Pro Max. The 11 Pro is fine, but the Pro Max case stretched insanely within months, with no exposure to extreme conditions, to the point where the phone doesn't even stay in the case. Fine, I thought, because I know Otterbox has a really good warranty. So I file the claim, balk at having to pay an extra $7.50 for a case that totally sucked, but whatever. TWO WEEKS LATER, the case arrived and it's the wrong size. So do I pay another $7.50 to try my luck again, bringing my total up to $60 + $15? Yes, but I will never *ever* buy from here again. For the case that worked, I love the pop socket addition and I think it's great to have it integrated into the case, but I'll find a different option because this is some serious garbage.

The pop socket barely even holds the phone and it feels so flimsy especially for the price of the case. I can’t even use my holder in my car because it falls off. I probably won’t buy another one of these the quality isn’t great at all.

The reason I returned it was because the location of the Popsocket and because it is sunken into the case, it wouldn’t work on my Popsocket car mount and didn’t allow the normal space for your fingers to hold the phone with the Popsocket. Otherwise awesome case!

The pop socket is a little tight when trying to open. It doesn’t open as far as a normal one but I think I get it is because it has to sit down further so it will charge. Either way it was worth the money paid and I do really like it.

I particularly like the Symmetry line because it is sturdy and slim. I like that this model comes with the pop button built in but because I've never used a pop button before I didn't realize that they can be interchangeable. If you aren't able to order the pop design you want at the same time as the case then just know that you can order it separate because they are removable/changable.

The only negative would be that I couldn't get my wireless charger to work. Even removing pop [which the packaging did say] did not allow to be wirelessly charged. I also walked thru over local Apple Store trying every charger there but none seemed to work. May be they should have put a mag ring into the case.

Used it seamlessly with other popsocket products and you can remove the popsocket so that the phone case works with wireless chargers. HOWEVER, the pop socket attaches with a locking mechanism on the back of the case that uses very thin plastic. The plastic part of the locking mechanism on the phone case broke and now the phone case can't lock with any pop sockets ever again. Would love to try again and see how long the case lasts, just not interested in spending so much for another case to break. Not sure if Otterbox has a replacement policy.

So I purchased the Symmetry but found out I can not get my phone in it. My husband tried, friend tried, but it will not fit into the case. Of course, this happened after I had thrown away box not thinking there could possibly be a problem. So phone is back in it's recently purchased Commuter series case and I don't have a pop up. (I had thumb surgery a couple months ago and can't hold the big Pro Max for more than a few moments.

Perfect. Performed as advertised. Wasn’t sure I would like the Pop up feature on the back. It is a huge help holding the large phone with one hand and still being able to browse and type. I would definitely recommend it.

The pop socket did not come out far enough for me to get my fingers behind. The pop socket did not work well as a kickstand, you had to manipulate the socket to just the right angle for it to stand up. It DID NOT support wireless charging with or without the pop socket on. I returned it the next day and am currently waiting on a refund. This is the only otter box I’ve ever had issue with but to me it seemed like a great idea but it turned out to be just that...only a great idea

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good and bad Overall, the case is of typical OB quality and does what it’s supposed to do. I am a fan of the pop-socket. I hadn’t used one in a long time and forgot what it was like to have one, this reminded me how convenient it is. The integration is very nice and looks like it should be there. There’s no real bulge or inconvenience. I will say it’s a bit of a challenge to change the pop socket if you want to customize it. I’ve found it’s infinitely easier to change without the phone in the case. Now, the real reason it’s just OK. I drive a Toyota Tacoma which has a built in wireless charger. This case DOES NOT work with this charger. It’s very frustrating and inconvenient. I have not tested on any other wireless chargers, but since I spend so much time in the car, this may be a deal breaker eventually. For now, I am conceding the fact it won’t charge in my car without a cable.

It is either the thickness overall or the integrated Pop Socket. Now I am back to using cables which I did not want to do. I bought a case for both myself and my wife so I am fully invested in using these cases. Also the Pop socket does not extend out enough as compared to a stick on one so the phone is hard to prop up and also is very tight when holding in between my fingers. If you have larger thicker fingers this would not work for you.

The pop out handle does not work as a stand on the 12 pro max (too big unless you have a magazine or place mat to raise it up a bit. I have not dropped the phone yet so cannot talk about how good the protection is, but my last box served me well for 5 years.

Arthritis and neuropathy in my hands due to chemo, pop socket helps me hold on to this big phone and be able to use it much easier than any other case. Would definitely recommend to all. I had such an incredibly difficult time (20 minutes) removing the stiff case from my iPhone 12 pro max. In addition, the pop socket broke within 6 hours of having the phone. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, fairly happy with the case. The options for a pink phone case are slim and this one fits what I was looking for. I'm not sure if the pop-socket is supposed to be able to hold up the phone but a iphone 12 pro max is too heavy for that. I have not tried wireless charging yet but the popsocket pops off if that does not work. Charging with the case was no problem. Putting the phone inside the case was troubling but not bad. It takes a fair amount of force. I suggest pushing it as far as possible into one corner with 3 corners inside the case then push towards that 3rd corner already inside and just remember its made of steel and the case will bend a little for it to snap on.

However the only reason I bought the case was so I didn’t have to keep taking my old case with a standalone pop socket off to wirelessly charge. I bought this for my 12 Pro Max and with the case on, none of my old wireless chargers will now work with this new case. Very disappointing.

Only two downsides I see is that it will not work with a wireless charger because of the pop. Also, the case is so glossy that there isn’t too much grip on it. With the phone being as big as it is, it’s probably why she’s dropped it so many times.

However the popsocket does not hold the phone up on its side like the normal model would do. The case is amazing and strong.

The Pop function is worthless for the big, heavy 12 Ma Pro, however. It doesn't even come close to supporting the phone as a kickstand. I have a Defender ordered and will use this case as a novelty item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best for a large phone! If you have a big phone, the last thing you need is a large case to make your phone even bulkier. This case simply the best in my opinion. It’s super slim to fit the phone and the pop socket makes the grip better and keeps surfaces away from the camera to avoid scratches. If had the symmetry without the pop socket and had to return it because of the camera being too close to the edge of the case.

I prefer it to be towards one end or the other as it's too hard to take pictures with it in the middle.

This integrated Pop Socket/ Otterbox combo is fantastic for people like me with Rheumatoid Arthritis. It's incredibly painful to hold my phone. Once Pop Sockets came out, I was able to hold it in a pain-free position! We have always used Otterbox to protect our phones so this combo was a no brainer. The case is beautiful and the socket can be changed out to keep things interesting.

If it was just a simple purple symmetry like my others, it would be perfect, but they don’t offer that anymore - only pink, teal, grey, clear, clear with glitter, and black. The pop socket is worthless. It doesn’t hold the phone up at all. I’ve read and tried the tips, and it falls over every time. I will be returning this case ASAP. I would exchange for plain purple symmetry (what I would have bought originally), but it’s not offered anymore, so I’m on the search for something new. What makes things even worse is the customer service. You can’t reach anyone. No phone. Only live chat. Every time I try to reach someone during the few hours live chat is open all it does is try to connect. I haven’t been able to connect with someone for days. It’s just awful. I give up. These cases are way too expensive for all of the above-mentioned issues.

The phone is super safe in the otter box and having the pop socket feature changes everything. I will only have a case like this going forward. I can hold and use my phone soo much easier with the pop socket. And it’s kinda fun changing out the pop socket decals. I highly recommend this case. I’d the company has better marketing it would be a very popular item.

Also DOES NOT charge on charger pad with the case on. I believe the pop feature prevents this so I still need wire charger. Very annoying and disappointing. Does Otterbox have a remedy for this?

Also, if you are used to "standing" your phone with a popsocket, you should be aware that this built in popsocket doesn't work as good but you can play with it and get it to stand. Other than these issues, I love it. I've already dropped my phone a couple of times and I don't worry about it, knowing that my otterbox has it protected.

I bought this case as this is what i had on my I Phone 10 Max, it provided great protection and allowed wireless charging in the case, with the pop socket installed. This case does not... VERY DISAPPOINTED. I know the response will be, you may need to remove the pop socket top for the best QI experience... that is not what i bought this case for, i bought it for easy to use dependable charging on my desk, in the car, and on my nightstand. Not charging that requires taking the pop socket off of the phone.

The part of the case where the Pop Top attaches broke off today. Though I enjoy the features listed above, I am not fond of paying this much for something that broke so soon.

Especially the part where you can change them out if you get bored. The fantastic part is when the pop socket is folded in I can slide it in my purse without it catching on the pocket. It's almost flat. So far I'm happy with the protection of the face of my phone and the camera lens. It's raised enough that it will prevent anything from breaking. It's very tight to install on the camera, but no impossible. It's snug and keeps the phone from sliding around and messing with the openings for the buttons and plug-ins.

Reviewing this to tell you why... While I can actually use mine like a stand, what I can't do is hold it comfortably. The area where it recesses make for a pretty small place to wedge my not overly large (or so I thought? fingers. It's not unbearable -- but it's not comfortable. It's sort of a ... just irritating enough to remind me that I paid too much for this case for this expensive phone... and I still don't like it. ... Also - I can't get it to charge through the case, even taking the pop socket off, and even using the special "pop charger" I bought from the pop website... So ... I had to take the whole case off. So I came here to see if I could get a specifically MagSafe case.... Frustrated by the whole thing. If you have hands that aren't tiny-- this may be uncomfortable to you.

I thought maybe it was the fact that I have the iPhone max but I tested out my husbands otter pop socket and it is a lot more durable and the “pop-ability” on his is beyond better than mines.

I recently purchased the iPhone 12 Pro Max and I knew that I would protect it with a Otterbox Symmetry case, since I had one on my previous iPhone and it never disappointed after many drops and even a hard fall while out running. I immediately fell in love with with the pop socket version when I saw it, I’ve only had it a few weeks so I haven’t yet dropped the phone so I can’t speak to it’s level of protection but it certainly feels hefty with its hard outer plastic case. Which brings me to my one criticism, the case has no give and it’s very hard to take on and off so if you’re the type that needs to frequently remove the case please keep that in mind.

Now, I’m wishing I just bought the pop socket. One of my favorite things about my old phone + pop socket (XS Max was it would act as a little stand. This one doesn’t stand up when placed on its side. I’ll keep the case because it’s worth it, but I’m disappointed.

The pop out helps to keep the phone in your hand, again the size of the phone hinders user performance but that is not the case the fault. Great Fall protection, my kid drops it all the time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT DESIGN It is a great case it looks wonderful and the socket props it up 95% of the time the way that I like it. But you got to remove it to use a Qi charging stand/pad. It is easy to remove and it’s well-made. It is a little step of extra work to put it back on but it’s worth it to have all of these factors in one case.

It is much stiffer than other Otter Box cases I have purchased over the years. The thing that wasn’t clear to me is that this case does not allow for wireless charging. That combined with the stiffness of the case making it nearly impossible to remove from your phone makes my wireless charging stations useless. If I had known that this case did not work with wireless charging, I would have never purchased it. That combined with the previous Otter Box case I purchased when the iPhone 12 Pro Max was first released practically disintegrating in my hands in less than a year makes think it might be time to move on from spending so much on Otter Box cases. They just don’t seem to be up to the standards that they once were, so why pay extra for sub standard performance or features?

And good luck filing a claim to get it replaced. I will buy LifeProof next time. They are easy to deal with and quick replacement if something happens to your phone. To much money to have such bad service and bad products. And forget trying to charge it on the pad, it doesn't work at all.

One time it landed flat on the face of the phone. I thought for sure the screen was broken. When I picked it up it was fine! The rim around the screen had protected it. What a relief. The only reason I didn’t give this a 5-star rating is that the case is very tight and difficult to remove. So difficult even the techs in the retail store almost couldn’t do it. This does not but still cost the same. The pop socket is not very stiff when extended and does not always stay extended when watching games or videos. Touching it most always collapses it. I paid extra for this feature. A little disappointed.

They did send me a replacement, However I’ve just found out I cannot wirelessly charge with this case on. I even tried removing the pop socket as recommended in some of these replies and nothing. as well, cannot use as a prop up because it’s not centred to the case and the phone ends up falling over. Super disappointed in otterbox

You'll have to buy a separate screen protector for your phone. I was also worried the pop socket would make my phone chunky, but I was wrong. When they get a new phone they cannot use the phone until the Otterbox arrives. It has saved their buts too many times to count.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and protective This is my second Otter and as before, I am totally pleased. The first one was 6 years old and intact when I changed phones. Having a pop out to change is a great inexpensive way to add variety.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rough Edges The case fits well and offers good protection. The built in pop socket is phenomenal. Issue 1: The plastic part is very rough on the hands where it meets the rubber. Issue 2: The plastic feels extremely cheap compared to the Otterboxes that have designs. It makes my $1100 iphone feel cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from impossible to get it on. i couldn't get it on. i watched a youtube vid to see if there was a trick. the girl struggled with it too before pausing her vid, then started it again after the case was on. i had it several days before a pro woodworker friend offered to try. he said he had to use one of his specialized tools to shoehorn it on without scratching the phone. now i guess it is on permanently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn’t buy again I love Otter Box products! I have bought them for every iPhone and iPad I have ever had. I will not buy this style again. I love the color and the fit, but the integration of the pop socket has rendered it practically useless. Since it is sunken into the case so far it is not easy to grip and is very difficult to use as a kick stand. It’s an expensive aggravation.

I am a little disappointed that the case is not magsafe as advertised, even with the pop socket removed it does not take charge wirelessly. I like that this case has the pop socket built in because it gives it a sleek look and also allows you to change with interchangeable pop sockets for a new look.

If you never have an expectation to wireless charge the Greeks case if you would like to use wireless charging this is not the case for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing since sliced bread!! Bought this for my new iPhone 12 and love it! I’ve always used a pop socket but didn’t like it stuck on the phone case and not being flat even when pushed in. Problem solved!!! There is a very slight bump on this when pushed in so it lays virtually flat and fits in my car phone holder much better. The only drawback, and it would not stop me from purchasing this case again, is when it is pulled out it needs to be just a bit longer. With the indentation for the flush fit, it’s pretty tight to get my fingers under the pop socket. Just a bit more length for this style case would be nice. Other than that great case!!!!

It does not work great when you want to use it as a stand when watching a video. it's directly centered so the weight of the phone is not balanced. I could buy a otter box and just add my own popsocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prettiest case I’ve owned I love this case! I was disappointed that the 12 pro max didn’t come in purple but this case makes up for that. Durable and pretty. The pop top built in is great. Only drawback is that I can’t charge my phone on my wireless charging pad with this case and for some reason my phone doesn’t fit as well in my cars phone holder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Case I bought the case about a month or so ago. I was unsure if i would like it with the pop socket on there, but its honestly really nice. I do have to remove the pop socket for the wireless charging to work, but with as easy as it is to remove its not a huge deal. The drop protection works as i have dropped my phone a few times. Solid case, Easily worth the money.
