Belt Clip is Very Practical
It’s great if you have multiple phones, such as a personal phone and work phone. Makes it easier to keep it on your belt with the clip so you know where it is. I would have made it 5 Stars but it’s a little uncomfortable when ur sitting down, especially if its a tight seat, like on airplanes (unless it’s first class) or at a show (Broadway).

Does Not Hold Phone
The holster will not hold the phone unless you put it in upside down! The iPhone 16 fell out of the holster and the screen cracked even though it was in a Defender Protector. The design of the Protector has such a large cutout for the side camera button that the clip on the holster cannot hold it.

Happy Otter box purchase
Purchased OtterBox defender cover for my new iPhone, did not realize it did not come with a belt clip, low and behold there was an offer inside the box for a free belt clip, ordered it and it came just as it said within a few days totally happy with it. My only complaint is not with OtterBox, but with iPhone putting the camera button down low only allows you to put the phone in the clip one way for it to latch, but not an OtterBox issue at all.

My last Otterbox and belt clip lasted seven years before the spring hinge just wore out. My old iphone8 still looked good as new. This new one looks to be of the same quality. If this new Otterbox and belt clip lasts half as long I'll be happy!

I’ve used otterbox the whole time I’ve had a smartphone. They’re pretty tough. The only thing I miss from earlier versions is the plastic screen protector. Saved the phones I’ve had from some serious abuse.

It is slightly better than nothing. Due to the new design of the iPhone 16 with the camera cut out Otter Box designers did not include a hard point for the holster to click in on that side. This means that the iPhone can only go in the holster one way and it just so happens that one way is backwards. Every time you pull your iPhone out it will be upside down in your hand. If you put the iPhone in so the side that doesn't have the hard point is under the catch, the phone is likley to fall out. In reality, there is enough room for a hard point on both sides of the iPhone even with the camera control cut out. Otter Box designers failed big time. This is so annoying that had I known of this failure I wouldn't have bought an Otter Box Defender series.

Great quality like all OtterBox products. Easy to get phone in/out of. Only complaint is when using it as a phone stand, it doesn’t angle back enough and stands almost straight up which makes it difficult to see the screen.

Otter box phone case
My I-Phone 16 frequently comes out of the holder and falls to the ground. Due to the camera button on the right side of the phone, the phone doesn't really snap in securly, causing the phone to fall out. I'm a landscaper/mower and I can see losing my phone on someone's lawn if I continue to use the holder.

the otter-box itself is excellent, i added the screen saver and that turned out to be an excellent improvement. the otter box fits alright in the holster fits correctly and has a solid clip to hold the unit in place. this is my 4th otterbox over the years and looks like the best of the lot. would recommend to anyone that needs a secure holster.

The holster itself is perfect and good for what it is made to do. 2 things that make it harder to use is the ability to use the camera while my phone is in the holster and second, I don't always have a belt or something else to clip on to provide easy access

Holder for the iPhone 16 is disappointing.
The holster only works if you turn your iPhone 16 upside down. If right side up there isn’t enough surface area for the latch due to the camera button. The phone will fall out. The latch on the holster needs to be moved just a quarter inch to make a big difference.

Awful iPhone 16 design.Otter Box is in the Toilet
The otter box I bought for the iPhone 16 is awful. The frame of case is missing over the right bottom side button. The phone will be easily damaged at some point. Because of this design flaw, you have gone from 4 different orientations in the holster, to only 2. I keep the clip on my right side, because I’m dominant right handed. The phone can only be clipped one way, and now I have to take the phone off the clip, and flip the phone around right side up. Absolute garbage and very disappointing by the engineers who designed this. Very very poor. I had to resort to buying a China otter box because they seem to be the only ones who can get it right. It’s very sad to see Otter Box, a solid company with 5 star products for what almost 20 years, making such unintelligent designs now. I apologize, but I’m just really disappointed. It would be nice to hear back from someone about the design issues

USPS holster not included
I still haven’t received my holster that was ordered mid December. USPS wanted me to clarify my address and I did then they wanted .30 cents to deliver through on line payment. I don’t blame otter box except that it’s not included with the case when purchased.

This is the second one I have owned. It provides excellent protection and is convenient to use. I accidentally fell into the lake from my dock with it on my belt. It only allowed a few drops of water to reach the exterior of my phone. There was no damage.

Beware of Apple phone changes they hinder the use.
The holster works good with the IPhone 16 pro otter box. With Apples addition of the camera button and slide, you can only insert the phone in one direction which is not at all convenient. If installed wrong it falls out.

Poor Design
I have used the Otterbox Defender case with the belt clip holster for many years. Past versions allowed the phone case to clip into the holster from either side of the phone, allowing you to rotate the phone to a preferred position. The new case has a cutout for the iPhone 16 camera button, which eliminates the clip attachment on one side of the case. As a result, the phone can only clip into the holder in one direction. Unfortunately, for me, each time I remove the phone from the holster, it is upside down. If the camera button cutout were not so large, there would be space to locate another holster clip on that side of the case. This adversely impacts its functionality for me, and I am looking for an alternative,

When I clip my iPhone 16 the phone has to be upside down to clip. Sometimes the phone does not clip and falls out from the holster. I am not happy.

Open Clip Holster
Case is a bit difficult to figure out how to use it, but that is easily overcome. The biggest problem with an open holster case is the easiness of dislodging the phone from the holster and the phone falling to the ground. Also you may not notice you dislodged your phone and loose it that way. Just like any clip holster, it doesn’t lock well around your belt. If you are working in tight areas, like myself, something can hit the clip and knock off your phone and holster. I would prefer this holster have a loop your belt can go through vice the clip it has now. That will eliminate it being dislodged by accident.

I have been an OBox fan for many years. I buy my case before I buy my phone. I get the defender case with holster. I have the new iPhone 16. The OBox case has one flaw. The gap at the side to accommodate their new camera button is not acceptable to me. The case needs to go all the way around the phone like always. Please figure out a way to make that happen. The screen cover is too vulnerable in that spot. Help!!!

Mildly uncertain
Because of the new indentation for the action button to have immediate access to the camera on the iPhone 16, the clip on the OtterBox that is the final registration for the belt holster, it makes you uncertain if your phone is positively secure in the holster. You can clip your iPhone 16 upside down to obtain that positive lock, or as I have not dropped my phone yet from the position that doesn’t give me that secure clipped in feedback, use it in this orientation.

Protects well but not as easy to release
Finally upgraded from iPhone XR (rectangular shape) to iPhone 16. Appreciate ability to use magnetic contact to charge phone, as I replaced charging cords four times!
Only minor complaint is that I have to remember to insert new iPhone with the long flat side on top—this iPhone has an indent on the right side which makes leverage using one hand (I am right-handed) inefficient—I often forget and then had to use two hands to release iPhone.
Protects as well as my four previous Otter Box covers—never had an iPhone damaged!

This is my my third Iphone with an otter box,one thing that i always have to do is modify the holster so the camera lens shows thru,i use my phone at work and it rarely leaves the holster,it would be nice if they were made with cutouts for the camera and flashlite,otherwise they work as intended.

I will always use an OtterBox Defender to protect my phone, but I am disappointed the cast can only fit in the belt clip in one direction. If the clip is flipped to wear on the other side, the phone has to be worn upside down.

Feels a bit flimsy on the edges, still protects the case I believe. Can really only use the stand function on one side, but I don’t use it too much, just a way to cover my screen since I use lense protectors. A little disappointed it didn’t come with the case itself, but it was truly free and came pretty quick so I can’t complain.

I like the otterbox cases but, their practice of not including the belt clip is disappointing. They have sent me the wrong belt clip 3 times. Still hopeful they will get it right.
Update: I solved the problem and informed customer service. Now, I’m being ignored. Their last email informed me I would just have to use what they sent, even if it’s not the correct size belt clip. By chance I tried fitting my case in my wife’s belt clip. It fits perfectly. She has an IPhone 16 and I have the 16 Pro. They apparently use the same belt clip but, I’m being sent a different size. I informed customer service about the mix up and now I’m just being ignored.
Poor customer service. I was told they checked with the people “in back” and that I would just have to make do. I still have the emails with CS responses.

Didn’t like the fact that Otterbox made me go online and request the second half of the product (the belt clip holder) after purchasing the phone protector in store. The result is I had to wait an additional week for the complete product that I used to be able to purchase in store in past. The price of the product had also gotten ridiculously high. I’ve been a loyal otterbox customer since iPhone 4, now on my iPhone 16. In the future, I will be shopping around for different products with better value.

Shouldn't Have to Claim a Free Clip
I'm in an IT department and we order lots of these Defender series cases for our Service Techs. Every single iPhone we order, we order an OtterBox Defender case. Now since OtterBox doesn't ship these with the Defender cases, it makes it a PAIN to claim it for Free. You have to pretty much sacrifice your right arm to even claim the Free case. The first one is easy since the QR code works fine. Then after that, good luck. I haven't had a QR code work the past 3 times. I either have to call OtterBox or chat with a Live support agent. They don't make it the easiest either, but I manage to claim the case after being on either phone or chat support for a minimum of 30 minutes. This delays the time we deploy phones by 1-1.5 weeks as well since we have to wait on them.

As always I love Otterbox defender, have used them for years , was disappointed the holster did not come with the defender for my iPhone 16, but did receive one from Otterbox free. Due to the change on iPhone 16 it has to be inserted into the holster one direction only which makes it easy to drop your phone. It seems that when inserted properly it still does not stay in place as well as all the previous holsters I’ve had for others models of iPhone. Still I appreciate my holster.

One Slight Problem
Every iPhone I've had has lived in an OtterBox with a holster. This is the first holster I've had that occasionally lets the phone fall out unexpectedly. It only happens when I've been sitting and then stand, like getting out of my car.

Belt Holster for I-Phone
Love this holster. Have used this particular model for about 10 years. Only compliant is that the clip-in for phone or the belt clip will break after about a year of daily use requiring the purchase of a new one. Fortunately a new holster can be purchased on line for a reasonable price.

Sorry it failed after a few weeks of use. I tried heating the side clips and pushing them inwards to make a tighter fit. That didn’t work. In the trash it went. All tough my first otterbox worked great on my old iPhone for around four years. I check around for an after market replacement.

Bad Defender Case Design
The defender Series Pro for MagSafecase says its rated for drops. I dropped my iPhone 16 and it hit the side of the phone where the screen was open on the right side by the photo button. The screen protector cracked. This case design is flawed and needs to be corrected (plastic all around the button).

The defender holster for the iPhone 16 is not good at all, phone does not snap it well and phone falls out a lot. Had to by a generic holster that clips in at the top of the phone.

up side down
you have to put the phone in the holster upside down in order for the phone to fit securely. I tried it right side up and it fell out several times. I believe this is due to the poor placement of the camera button on the phone but non the less its inconvenient.

Be careful with ordering holster from Otterbox.
The Otter Box Defender iPhone 16 case purchased through Amazon is fine. However, the holster, which needs to be ordered from Otterbox per the instructions enclosed with the case took me to 3 outside sites. I had to cancel 2 of my credit cards

Problem with Defender Otter Box
Unlike previous Defender Otter Box this one for the iPhone 16 ( previous phone an iPhone 11) falls out of the belt holders during the day. The case s good since when it falls out it does not break but I wish the belt holder worked better.

Holster only clips phone on one side.
The holster only fits the phone in one orientation and it is the opposite of my intuitive way of clipping it in. Now I have to rotate the phone up side down to clip it in. Definitely not as comfortable as the other models I’ve had in the past.

Nice Belt Holster with caveats.
Solid phone protection. I’ve used these for years. It’s a decent belt-carry device with some cautions. The wearer must remain conscious that both the spring clip is hooked under the belt properly and the phone is securely CLICKED into place. I emphasize the phone MUST SNAP into place or it could possibly fall out. You will get used to doing that. May be worn horizontal or vertical because clip rotates. A closed belt loop may have been an alternative design to a spring-clip, granted less convenient. I can’t figure how else it would be worn if not on a belt. My points are: the wearer must be conscious as to what and how well the spring-jaw is affixed to clothing and assure the phone is tightly seated.

iPhone 16e Defender Series MagSafe Holster
The holster does hold the phone securely in place. I have dropped the whole assembly several times and the phone is undamaged. My only quibble about the holster is that I am having trouble figuring out where to attach it on my pants when I am driving. It will dig into my side and interfere with the seat belt, or pop off when I adjust it so it won't dig in.

Exactly what you need
Most important protection for my new 16 pro. 1500.00 investment I got the 1TB phone, I had the 13 pro max when welding slag or sparks would seek out the screen then burn little pits in the glass. I got the defender protection case, added the glass screen protector just in case, then this holster is the perfect protection for my phone. Your best choice to protect your investment.

This is the third otter box all have held up very well. Had last one 6 years. Replaced when got new phone. One before replaced for same reason. Also have holster. Rather carry on side as drop out of pocket. Know several people had lost phone and not realized it happened.

Holster doesn't secure phone
The phone isn't secure in the holster. It falls out regularly. There is not a loud "snap" when putting it in like all the other defender holsters that I have had. I have had one for at least a decade and this is the first one that doesn't stay snapped in. I told otterbox and they sent me another holster to see if it helped and it didn't. So Now I reluctantly, either have it in my hand, or in my pocket. I still try to use it but only to look down and the phone not in the holster and then I have to look for the phone.

I don’t understand why I received an email confirming the holster I ordered was shipped. After 2 weeks I required about not receiving the holster. Then I was told it was out of stock and it would take 3-4 weeks to ship another one. This is the last one I will purchase from otter box.

Flawed Design
Your horrible design flaw that your company fails to acknowledge damaged my $60 screen protector within the first week. The fact that you have an open gap exposing the phone is idiotic. There are better cases that don’t have the stupid gap and still allow you to access the side button perfectly fine.

Great product given iPhone 16 design changes
Having enjoyed an OtterBox with my previous iPhone 11, I found the OtterBox for iPhone 16 quite similar. But, designing an OtterBox holster to conform to the unique design of the iPhone 16 has slightly compromised the usefulness of the holster. It still works well, but I’m forced to adjust where I carry my phone on my belt and how the phone sits in the holster. After a month of use, I’m still fumbling with removing and replacing the phone in the holster. However, I’m sure a new muscle memory will gradually make this easier.
