Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overrated and overpriced Case isn’t that bad but the holsters are crap! Phone is constantly popping out of the holster and always difficult to try and put the phone in it. Latch on the back of the holster is constantly popping open and latching into the prop stand mode. Only reason I went with otterbox is because of the case itself. Of course now when you buy a case the holster doesn’t come with it and you have to now order it separately. The last phone I had with an otterbox holster I had to replace the holster 6 times as they kept breaking.

Within 5 hours of contacting Otterbox, the requested holster device was shipped to me, arriving 3 days later! This is an example of their (Otterbox corporation) attention to customer requests. I requested a warranty replacement for similar Defender approximately a year earlier for a previous iPhone holster and received the same professional and dependable service. Stars to Otterbox corporation, and my thanks to their staff!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loose snaps, and phone slipping out case. My iPhone 17 pro max skeleton case snaps would not unsnap, and some would not snap. Also, my phone kept slipping out of the case. I paid over $85 for it, and didn’t expect the phone to pop out the case in the corner. Had I not of thrown away the box I would have sent it back for refund or exchange for new case due to defect. It was purchased through Amazon.

This time I picked up the Defender Series for my iPhone 17 Pro Max with the Pro Holster, and I couldn’t be happier. What really impressed me is that it works perfectly with all my MagSafe accessories — no issues at all, which makes life so much easier. And of course, the protection is top-notch. In the first week, I dropped my phone at least a dozen times (new phone nerves, I guess), and every single time the case kept it safe. No scratches, no dents, nothing. That’s why I keep coming back to OtterBox. It’s reliable, tough, and now even more convenient with MagSafe compatibility. After a decade of using their cases, I can honestly say they’ve earned my trust.

With the handy holster to safely carry my phone on my hip that doubles as a kickstand so I don't have to hold my phone to watch it and made of top-notch materials to last. I have dropped my phone off two story roofs and had one stuck in a snowbank for about two hours, and all have survived!

This year's case causes false camera activation due to the design and sensitivity of the button on the defender case when handling the phone. I unintentionally activate the camera many times a day due to this design flaw. Please fix this flaw and get me a replacement case with the new design.

The case for the IPhone 17 pro max feels cheap and if poor quality materials were used, the rubber outer skin even has left over material from I’m assuming the molding process sticking out all over the place! Maybe it’s time to find another case manufacturer.

Even before activation and set up. This is my seventh iPhone since iPhone 3. They’ve all had Otterboxes. Not one time has a phone been damaged. The iPhone 15 Pro Max I’m trading in looks brand new. I’ve recommended it a couple dozen times online since yesterday. I’m a big fan!

I work in maintenance, and this case has handled drops, dust, and daily abuse without a problem. It’s tough, solid, and gives real peace of mind—my phone even survived a six-foot fall onto concrete with no damage at all. The grip feels secure, even with dirty or sweaty hands, and it still works great with MagSafe. It’s a little bulky, but that’s a small trade-off for the level of protection you get. Overall, it’s a real good, sturdy, and excellent case that’s worth every penny.

This one however while it does hug the phone well and theyve made some changes so it doesnt stretch over time, the camera button part of the case is terrible. It triggers the camera button constantly and i worry this case will break that button.
