Good product, does what it is designed to do. Only disappointment is the hoops you have to jump through to obtain the holster. The previous 2 Otterbox cases I purchased came with the holster as a packaged deal. When paying $70+ for a case, I believe you get my point.

This holster if clip is bumped, phone has a tendency to fall out. I’ve had two people behind me pick my phone off the ground and return it. I would expect a tighter grip from Otter Box

Does not protect phone.I do not trust that it will retain phone. I work in overalls and bibs which have no belt. I need a ballistic nylon or canvas pocket with functional velcro closure to encase and protect.

I have been a faithful otterbox buyer since the first iPhone. I am also a farmer and require a well designed and rugged case. The quality of these cases gets poorer and poorer with every iteration. This case for the iPhone 17 is so cheaply made and at the highest price I ever paid. The front no longer has a plastic encasement to keep dust out. Also, the extra step to get the belt clip was time I didn’t really have to waste. Never again will I buy a otterbox product. There are more sturdy brands for less money.

I think it’s ridiculous that I have to wait on holster in the mail rather than you including it when I buy my case. You charge a VERY high price for the item. I shouldn’t be waiting on it in mail!! already sent a review and was told it was due to “sustainability” for not including it when purchasing the case. VERY FLIMSY EXCUSE… INCLUDE IT AT TIME OF PURCHASE!!

I have used the Defender Series case and holster for all my iPhones and it has saved many a potential accident. With the holster it has saved me from losing my phone. I always tap the side to verify I have my phone. The Defender Case is the best and gives me a place to put my phone so I don't lose it or crush it if it were in my pocket.

Costs a little more, but well worth the protectio.
After dropping my IPad years ago and shattering the screen, I purchased an Otterbox. Since then, I have purchased 3 for the various IPhones and two more for the two IPads I have had over the last 10 years+. They have saved me many hundreds of dollars and a lot of grief. I have looked at other phone cases and in my view, no other product provides better protection.

It is a nice option rather than putting the phone into your pocket. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a hole in the back for the camera so you can still take pictures while the phone is in the case.

Defender case for iPhone
My employer first provided me with a Defender case to protect the iPhone 5S they issued to me.
That was followed up with a Defender case for each issued company iPhone (6S, XR & 13).
I worked field service for retail store security and the phones took a beating at times.
Not one of them suffered any damage other than a cracked screen protector (screen was ok).
Now I am retired, my new iPhone 17 of course has an OtterBox Defender.

I only use Otterbox. My phone fell off in the street (I did not clip it correctly and did not notice but went back looking for my phone and found it in the street) and it got run over, but the phone was OK because of the case, so much so that I traded it in for full credit

The otterbox case is strong and sturdy. If I drop the phone the case should keep it protected. The holster is also sturdy and the iphone fits into it nicely. I am happy with both of them.

Inferior belt clip
The clip does not grip the belt tightly enough and it comes off when you bend down to pick something up. I now carry it in my back pocket because the phone fell on the floor three times. Not happy with it.

My OtterBox so far has had no problems standing up to a lot of rough treatment. I also really love the textured rubber outer layer that gives the phone a very nice nonslip grip. I also really love that the outer nonslip grip comes with a cover for the charging port. I work a dirty job so it’s really nice, that it helps keep dirt and dust out of it.

I always protect my iPhone purchase with an Otterbox Defender case and screen protector.
This is my second Defender case having used the first one for 6 years without ever a problem, iPhone is always protected well from falls onto hard surfaces. You also get a free holster when you buy the Defender case and scan the barcode inside the case, which is shipped free as well !!

I need a replacement.
I’ve used Otterbox covers for many, many years. I won’t trust any other product to protect my phones. However, I’ve had this Otterbox cover for just over one month. The pins that keep the cover locked onto the phone case have broken off. The cover won’t stay attached and I’ll need to get a replacement.

So far I like it a lot, I am a mechanic and I tend to get greasy dirt on my case and so far it has been easy to clean up and it doesn’t slip out of my pocket very easily was concerned about that but the texture is very good for both problems only complaint about case is small opening for the silent switch, I can only get the little finger nail into it, women and young people most likely don’t have the same problem

Would be better with integrated screen protector. The latch on holster is difficult to get it to catch. The one I had for iPhone 7 and SE3 seemed to fit and latch much better.

Best and safest way to carry phone
If you need your phone for work then you need a otterbox case and belt clip to keep it safe and protect it. I just traded in my old iPhone 8 and it looked brand new because of the case and clip i used to protect it while working. I didn’t drop it out of a shirt pocket or sit on it in a pants pocket. Otterbox is just the best way to protect your new phone.

Very happy with the low profile this holder and its case offers, with the level of protection. Did not understand why this holder was not included with the case. I guess it was back ordered and instead of not selling the case, otter box just sent vouchers for when it was back in stock

I've used Otterbox Defender phone
I've used Otterbox Defender phone cases for many years. They have always protected my phone from falls, bumps, and scrapes. This one is no exception. It encloses my phone in a good solid case and with the added holster allows me to clip it to my belt for easy carrying and access. I do wish the holster would have come with the phone case as it did in the past. Having to order it separately was a nuisance.

I had Otterbox Defender on my old Iphone 7+ which did a very good job of protecting the phone as I work in a physical job. The new Defender is even better as used on my new Iphone 17. The belt clip holder is very well thought out as it securely holds my new phone/Defender to my belt and can also be used to prop up the phone on a desk. The one thing I discovered is that the phone must be placed in the belt clip facing inward. Otherwise the phone gets pretty hot.

Very good quality. I have used Otterbox for nearly 20 years and in that timeframe only 2 clips ever broke.
I recently tried another brand that is named after a bird that starts with a P and in a 3 month period 2 clips broke.

A defender for a reason
The full setup is like putting an armored vest around your not cheap iPhone 17. You will need a little practice to release the device safely from the holster using only one hand with a thumb and first finger maneuver. There is little room for the thumb to get behind the phone as leverage.
