Good Clip
Could not pass up a free belt clip. It really is nice for tilting up my phone when I am watching a movie. I would recommend the belt clip for everyone who has an OtterBox case. The clip actually is good to have on the phone when you are storing it in a bag or elsewhere for extra protection.

While the product itself is exactly what I expected since I had one before, I was disappointed because the belt clip was supposed to be free. When I tried ordering it, there was no where during checkout to put the promo code in so I ended up having to pay for it even after already paying for it with my original purchase.

I have had an otter box for my phones for years this new otter box is a bit of a let down. My complaint is the phone has to be facing one of two ways when putting it in holster, front facing ir rear facing, where as my previous otter boxes could be put in holster front facing or rear facing left side up or right side up.

Have used Otterbox products for years and the Pro 16 case is excellent but the accompanying holster does not fit as well or securely as the same products have in the past. For example, the top right tab rests 1/8" away from the actual case.

Phone falls out of belt clip constantly
My phone keeps falling out of the clip. There is no indentation in the phone portion to make a secure connection. All of my other OtterBoxes had a small grove int the cover. I have had OtterBoxes for over 10 years and this is the worst one ever!!

iPhone 16 holster for defender case.
I have used genuine Otterbox Defender holsters for years, so i purchased a new IPhone 16 I didn’t hesitate to get another Defender case. The IPhone 16 has a new button to take photos, this is where the issue with the holster starts. The holster has a small tab to secure the phone directly above the new button. The case doesn’t always lock securely. This is a high quality product, but it requires a small tweak.

Great as expected, but the holster is unsafe.
Purchased my iPhone 16 Pro case in store, but the holster was not included and although free, had to be requested online. The case is great as usual. I like the indent where the new camera button is. It gives you something extra to grip. The rubber flip cover over the charger port is unchanged, and the hinge will wear out in time and tear off I’m sure. Just like my last one did. One of the best things is that it keeps the 3 camera lenses recessed slightly, so they don’t touch a table top. One thing I don’t like about the holster, is the lock that holds open the spring of the belt-clip. I’m guessing it’s to help keep the clip open when attaching to your belt or pants. While I don’t find that a big advantage, what I did find wrong, was that it locked the spring-clip open on its own when you don’t expect it, disabling its purpose, and my phone actually came off my belt and hit the ground when I was getting out of my truck. I’m going to try to disable that lock feature somehow.

Otter Box Defender Exceptional Performance
I like the Otter Box Defender. It has helped save my IPhones numerous times and it’s always kept it from any damages occurring. I’ve used Otter Box Defender on all my IPhones. I’ve never had failure or damages from a dropped phone. Defender works just as it says.

New holster is poorly designed
At some point, Otterbox changed the design for the holster for the iPhone 16 Pro Defender case. My friend has the old style and the phone fits snugly in the holster. With the new holster, the lower hooks that cradle the phone leave a 1/4 inch gap and the latch at the top is smaller and flimsy compared to the original design. I don’t trust that the new holster will securely hold my phone and I am concerned about the phone popping out.

Replacement for a broken holster- IPHONE 13 w/ an OTTERBOX defender case. Unfortunately, the holster is too wide- It won't hold the phone. I asked for a replacement of that, same thing. So they are making these a tick bigger than 2 years ago. The phone won't clip in. Still using the broken holster until I get a new IPHONE.

Design flaws
I the second day I had my case I was getting out of a chair and my phone fell from less than four feet and due to the void around the new camera button this model has it cracked my screen in a couple spits on a newly purchased I phone 16 pro I got the same day as the case. I know it means am I saying it was the case’s fault my phone broke I dropped it but my old phone with the same case survived three years of construction redesigned the case to do something over the camera button and I will surely still buy the product.

The holster is awesome, the phone case isn’t bad. You have to turn your phone over to clip it in, as it only clips in one orientation. Would be an easy fix in the engineering design of the case. I purchased this case because it used to come with a clip. Now you have to create an account, login, scan the QR code and wait 7 days for a clip to arrive to start using it. Hence the two stars. The clip should come with the case like it has for the last 15 years for this product line. Put the clip in with the case packaging, and fix the orientation issue, and you’re back up to five giant stars, because it’s still a good product.

The Defender case should fit into its holster in any orientation, but it only snaps securely into place when facing forward and top to the right (holster positioned horizontally. I would like to have the option to face the phone inward for protection, and in either direction!

The clip is only one sided to the phone casing. This leads to your phone failing out if it is not placed the certain way. The older versions were double sided which means anyway you clip your phone in, it was locked in safely.

Barely holds phone in. The phone jiggles around and can fall out. Thought I got the wrong one so contacted otterbox. They sent me a new one, yep still not designed right. My old 13 clip works well. A little too snug, but at least my phone clips in and doesn’t move around.

Holster does not hold IPhone 16 pro securely
iPhone 16 pro phone falls out of the holster and is not secure unlike my iPhone 13 Pro phone which stays secure in the holster. Otterbox sent me two different holsters with different model numbers but neither fits properly. Holsters should be sold with the case to make sure they fit securely.

This is the 6th Otterbox Pro Defender phone case I have purchased for the 6 phones I have purchased over the last 12+ years. I have always been extremely pleased with the protection and service with the previous cases provided my phones. Based on this experience, even after reviewing a multitude of other cases available for the new IPhone 16 Pro, I chose to stay with the Otterbox Defender. I have had it for a little over a month now and I feel I made the right choice once again by staying with the Otterbox Defender. I do admit that I also purchased the Otterbox screen protector for increased protection since the Defender no longer comes with a screen protector. I think the screen protector went especially easily and also is holding up very well and makes a perfect combination with the Otterbox Defender Pro case for my peace of mind for the new IPhone 16.

Very disappointed in the design. Unlike the older clips for Otterboxes, you can only put the phone in one way. If you keep the clip on your right side the release lever does not have a locking notch on the case where the camera button is (IPhone 16). Makes it very awkward to remove the phone from the case.

I have had many iPhone Defender holsters in the past with great satisfaction. With the iPhone 16 Pro Defender holster, Otterbox had to make a change to accommodate the redesigned iPhone case and buttons. With past designs, there were two positions that the iPhone could be placed into the holster and both provided secure 'click' into position. But with the redesign to accommodate the 16 Pro, this changed. The iPhone can still be placed into the holster in two different orientations 180 degrees apart but only one of them securely clicks it into place. In the other position, the one I mostly used in the past, the iPhone fits into place but does not have a secure click locking it into position. Consequently, the iPhone will easily falls out when slightly bumped against something .

Would not buy again. Poorly designed.
Holster is not designed for right handed users. If the holster is worn horizontally on right hip and you remove the phone from the holster, the phone is upside down as the defender case only has the holster clip on the left side of the case. The phone is not secured if it is put in the holster the opposite direction. Poorly designed and this is partially Apples issue as well due to all of the buttons they are placing on the side of the phone.

Fit of phone into holster is not like it use to be on previous models. Phone clicks in but is loose. Use to be able to click in in different orientations but not this one, only goes one way.

Was always a fan of otter box defender. But the latest design for the iPhone pro 16 falls short of the standards I have grown to appreciate. The case is too thin, more like a commuter case from years ago. Too many exposed parts on it. The camera lens sticks out past the back of the case. Also you have to send away for the holster now, it does not automatically come with the case. All and all this will probably be the last defender I buy.

The Otter Box that I received was defective. The holster's clamp is on the wrong side. Therefore, my phone has to be upside down or backwards in the case. And I waited I think about a week or two for the holster itself.

Love the case - but holster needs work
Good case - but the belt holster needs work. It is not very secure - my phone has fallen out twice even with the iPhone 16 Pro in the clip the “correct” way. (Fortunately - no damage). You have to put the phone in a certain direction or the clip won’t hold the phone at all. Also, the opening for the camera is very tight - the lens protector fell off twice during my recent trip.

The “Lawn Ranger”
I’m frequently listening to Podcasts as I mow my lawn. When the phone is in my pocket it tends to jump and/or stop during the play. Since using the holster this glitch has not occurred. And the phone has not moved out of the holster while I’m mowing.

Very Disappointed iPhone 16 Holster
Unlike previous holsters for the iPhone which ensured a positive lock, easy to clip in and protection, the iPhone 16 holster does not provide these items. The positive lock is not there unless you fiddle with it and hear the click. Without doing this you have a false sense of security. The holster flexes horribly when trying to attach the phone, many times I take the holster off my belt, especially when hiking to avoid the phone falling out, and secure the phone in the holster and wait for the click then need to put it back on my belt.
Don't recommend this holster for those who work in construction or are active since it is too difficult to remove and secure the iPhone to it.

Awkward Release Location
While the Otterbox Holster is well made, I find retrieving my phone from to be cumbersome. The release lever is located on the side, right next to the volume control buttons and I invariably press one or more when reaching for the ringing phone. A release on the front end such as LifeProof used is much more user friendly. I hope Otterbox will rethink the design of this Holster.

iphone 16 Pro Otterbox Defender package.
I understand why the Holsters were moved to "free" but after sales of the Defender itself (because not everyone wants one, and cheaper to only make and send when one wants one). I am a Realtor and often show houses with other stuff in my hands besides my phone - so the Holster comes in "very handy". I've been using Otterbox and the holsters for years. But I was disappointed by the looseness of the fit on my iphone16Pro. It seems much less secure and I expect that if I drop the phone the set the holster will pop-off too easily and the expensive phone will get damaged. I was also disappointed to find that a plastic/glass cover was not part of the actual Defender. My old iphone7 Defender had this and it protected my phone's glass very, very well for year's (in fact my 7's glass is still almost pristine). So the new Defender setup "works" but not as well as previous models.

Remember a few year ago when you just clip your phone into clip; no matter which way it was facing? Yeah this one only works with the screen facing out and backwards. I work construction and definitely not a fan of this at all.

I’ve used the OTTERBOX holsters for years and they worked great. The new one that I use for my iPhone 16 pro is junk. Does not fit the defender cases correctly. My phone is not secure in the holster and it comes out regularly. Phone has hit the floor 5 or 6 times. Excellent customer care. My order did not arrive in reasonable time I called the company they immediately mailed a new package. They both arrived at the same day. Problem was UPS gave the package to the USPS to be delivered. It took USPS 10 ays to bring from Atlanta Georgia to Panama City Beach Florida. Second package was with the FedEx. Company did not want the extra package back. I wanted to pay for it. They told me not to worry about it and just keep it. Thank you or great customer care.

Pretty nice. Cover does a good job of phone protection. The clip case, however, is another story. It is far from secure. I had another for a Samsung phone and it was awesome. I used the phone on a farm tractor without any problems. Lost my phone, and luckily found it, twice the other day just walking around with this I-Phone 16 case. Very disappointing. Poor design. Do not buy or you’ll be losing your phone.

I gave this case 3 stars because I think the last case I had like it for a different phone was so much better. This one seems more flimsy. You also can only fit the phone in it in one direction as there's only one "clip hole" in the case on one side instead of 2. The phone also doesn't go in flush with the case. I think it's because of the protruding camera lenses now on newer phones so allow for it to be inserted with the camera side to the back of the case, But when you put it in the case with the front side of hte phone to protect the front side, there's a big gap that seems a little precarious like it's not in the case correctly.

The quality of the defender case is excellent. The poor rating comes from the fact that the holster isn't with the case. It was easy to order from OTTERBOX, but it took over 2 weeks to receive the holster. First one was lost by UPS, second one came a day later than promised. With the prices you pay for a premium item, they should include the holster with the case, similar to what they use to do. Next time I will look at other vendors to see if they include every item prior to purchase.

Good quality, make sure you secure with 2 clicks
The OtterBox Defender holster for my IPhone 16 Pro looks like it is the same quality as previous Defender holsters I have owned. I have noticed that the holster bottom tabs are a bit wider than the phone and you need to push the phone until you hear two clicks to insure that the phone is secure. If you push the phone and hear only one click the phone does move a bit in the holster. I’m not sure if this is by design.

If you clip your phone in another way there is nothing to hold the phone in place. Also the case cutout for the action button is wide open which caused my phone to crack when dropped.

You can only put it in the case one direction instead of doing it either direction.

it just ok. bottom saddle holders stick out too far. and you can only put the phone in one way, which is backwards as there is only one indent on one side of the phone case. i would like to see that change back to the way it was, where you could snap the phone in either direction

I was extremely disappointed when I purchased my NEW Otterbox case at phone store & realized it came with no clip holster. Which way is up?
Works fine, but because of the button layout of the 16, you have to flip the phone with the bottom facing forward when you clip it in. This is backwards from the other iPhone Otterbox holsters I’ve owned in the past, where the top of the phone faces forward. Not a deal breaker, but it takes some getting use to.

Product is great! I love the design and feel of it. I wish that there was protection where the camera button is on the iPhone 16 Pro. When my phone dropped, my screen cracked in that area where there is no protection. Luckily I had a screen over the phone. Also, because I have a privacy screen over my iPhone 16, the Otter Defender doesn’t over over it well. I can’t get rid of the air bubbles under the screen once I add the Defender case.

Poorly made and over priced. Not the same quality as the old cases plus you can’t use with camera lens protectors and at the time the don’t offer any. I’ve used them for years but this case is junk. I tried to return it and they want me to pay to ship it back! I bought a different case from a seller on Amazon for about 1/3 of the price and it’s so much better!

Mobile Phone Protection Gold Standard
The title of this review says it all. I prefer a holster, and it fits the Defender Case perfectly, as the case fits my iPhone 16 perfectly. And it has already protected that new phone from 2 drops that would’ve crushed most of the competition. And after using Otterbox on my iPhone 13 for 3+ years, I traded it in without a scratch on it. It looked brand new, despite numerous drops!

Holster is for a wider phone case.
This holster holds the phone, but the phone case is about 1/8” thinner than the holster. As I said it holds it, but on occasions it has fell out when I get out of my truck or off my equipment. I’ve had this holster with my other iPhone and never had to worry about it falling off. Lately my only use for this holster is to hold my phone while watching a movie or video! Very disappointing.

The holster is not designed to fit the case very well. The ears of the holster stick out so they get caught up on things very easily, the phone is loose in the holster and feels as if it’s going to fall out. The phone case and holster also don’t allow for the phone to be put into the holster in any other direction except for the screen facing out. I’ve used the defender cases and holster on all my iPhones since 2010 and this is the worst I’ve ever seen.

Less secure due to side camera button
Not Otterbox’s fault, but not liking that they had to modify the case for the new camera button on the iPhone 16 Pro. I was used to removing the phone from the holster at the spot where that camera button is now at. I would be interested in a case that covers that button, but I’d probably be in the minority. Also due to that camera button and the sleep/wake button being so close together, the clip holding the phone in is much narrower. When clipping the phone, I have to pay closer attention to it being seated right and making sure the clip catches securely.

Ordered this to go with my otter box I bought at the Verizon store. Waited over 15 days before contacting otterbox saying there was a shipping issue and asking them to file a claim with UPS (per ups it’s easier for the shipper to file a claim and get results). Could not get in contact with a real human at otterbox and never got my belt clip.

Otterbox Defender series case for IPhone 16 Pro
I love my Otterbox holster, but I totally dislike my Otterbox Defender case. I find the notch that fits into the holster is on the wrong side for me. The iPhone 16 Pro has the quick access button on the right hand side of the phone so there is no notch that locks the phone into the case on that side so my phone is always upside down whenever i unholster it. I also don’t feel like it locks in well either.

I believe the problem is more with the otter box defender design than the holder. The design leaves part of the screen exposed where the camera button is. Unlike my previous models there is not an audible “snap” when you put the phone in the holder leaving me wondering if it is secure. It would be nice to have a better design

Poor fit with phone case. Not sure if case was badly designed, or case was. They’re not fit well together. Does not hold case securely. Mine phone (in case) fell out of belt holster clip 4 times in first 4 days. I’ve had OtterBox Defender cases and belt clips for 10+ years and not had such a problem. I can see a gap in between case and holster clip when phone is clicked into holster. Just poor fit.

It works, but it's not sized the best. With previous iterations of this holster and the corresponding case, the phone fit snuggly in the holster. However, with the iPhone 16 Pro in the corresponding case, there are gaps between the phone and the four corners of the case, as if they used the same holster for a thicker phone instead of resizing the holster to account for the thinner phone/case combo. The phone fits securely, but the gaps between the phone and the corners of the case allow the holster to get caught on things, which could prove risky for the phone, and whatever you get the holster caught on.

The Otterbox Defender is a perfect fit for the iphone 16 Pro and provides the same excellent protection as for my previous iphone 10.
Due to the notch on the case for the camera button, it seems care needs to be taken in the orientation of the phone to the case. It just seems less secure when the clip is on the side of the button

I only use Otterbox defender systems on my Iphone and Ipad Never had an issue with breakage, I have had a couple of issues with the belt clip holster and with the rubber case on my ipad in the past, but Otterbox replaced them without question

The design of the new Defender case for 16Pro
overall I am happy with the quality of the holster. Unfortunately, Ii don't like the new design. The older models have the clips on both sides. This model have the clip only on one side, which means, that the phone can be attached only one way. Another negative part, is that I purchased the case and had to write to Otter box and ask for the belt clip part...

Clip does not seem to hold phone tightly at all. There is an eighth of inch gap between clip and case on the bottom part that is supposed to hold phone tight against the back of the clip. I’ve only had the clip a few weeks and my phone has already fallen out multiple times and hit the ground. The clips that I have had in the past from OtterBox always held the phone snugly and fallen out of the clip was not an issue. Not sure if I got sent improper clip by mistake or this is just poor design.

Perfect, with just one tweak
I love having the holster to go with my OtterBox. It’s hard to slip the OtterBox cased phone in your pocket, but with the holster there’s a way to carry it hands-free. One small change I would make, that was worth one star, is to make the clip longer so that it feels more sturdy on your hip. Since I don’t wear a belt, this would make it perfect.

Helps Otter Box Save Money?
Same type holster that came with the Otter Box Defender that I purchased for my previous iPhone 12 Pro. Now, for whatever the reason is no longer included with the package. Likely a way for Otter Box to save some money. The holster is great but only receives an 'average' rating because it wasn't included with the Otter Box itself.

Issues of ordering from Amazon and exact fit
The belt clip was very good but had one lesser flaw. The case was a bit loose so that the lock point will not last very long. I may be forced to add tape to the holder to keep the phone from falling out sooner that expected. The most difficult issue was ordering the belt clip from Amazon. Getting a refund to make it "free" was a big issue taking hours of phone calling.

One minor issue
I was a bit disappointed that I had to buy the holster separately from the case. When I upgraded my iPhone at Verizon, I was told that the case no longer came with a holster. This was at least my second OtterBox and I had been looking forward to buying one for my new iPhone.

If you are the working person looking for maximum protection, this holster is not for you. Unfortunately we all spend the money for be protection but this holster was designed to be just the opposite. Your phone screen no longer faces inward away from exposure. This seems very odd and the first time ive ever purchased an otter product where this was the case. I hope it was oversight, however until ratified i would recommend better options on the market.

Tough case, seems to protect very well. Adds a small amount of bulk and covers the color of the iPhone. I prefer to keep the name brand of my phone out of sight so this all works for me. Texture adds significantly to the grip security.

The fit of this holster in relation to the case is horrible. Because I have the defender case with that notch cut out for the camera control button you can only put this case on two ways–one facing up and one facing down–as opposed to the four from previous iPhone model cases.

I'm sorry to say this, but this Otterbox holster is a failure. I don't normally wear a holster on a belt, but I decided to use it when working in the yard. It has fallen off my belt several times and the screen on my new iphone 16 is already damaged as a result. The main culprit is the belt clip. The small compression clips on the front of the holster seem to work OK, but even that part is a worry. A pocket type holster that I could insert the phone would be preferred.

This clip doesn’t hold the phone like the older clips. He had a iPhone 8 and bought a iPhone 16 pro. I had to buy him a holster type phone holder. It didn’t clip the other day and he ran over it with the backhoe. The phone was fine because he had it in the Otterbox case.

I shouldnt have had to pay (shipping) for what was once included in price. Its no better then making bottles and boxes of food products smaller but keeping the price the same. Still getting less of a product. If you are going to call it a “free holster” it needs to be totally free. Total misrepresentation buy ‘cancelling’ the $15 cost only to require $15 in shipping. Put it back in the box with the case and it is FREE.

Why did otter decide to NOT include holster?!
I’ve been an otter defender customer for years. We have 3 iPads and 3 iPhones in our house and they have always had defender cases. I was blown away that my latest purchases came without the holster. I did go back to the Amazon page where I ordered 2 new iPhone 16 pro defender cases and then saw in very small print that I was only purchasing the case…..unlike the dozens of previous times I have purchased otter in the past.

Tough as usual
Have owned quite a few iPhones and always put them in Otterbox Defenders. Have never broken a phone or had any problems. I’m a tradesman so my phones go through use and some abuse. Otterbox Defenders are tough. The Magsafe ring on the back is a nice addition for the Defender and wireless iPhone (Apple brand) chargers work well even through this thick rubber and plastic case. I’ve never had any issues charging. My only issue is that the phone can only be clipped in the holster in an upright position with speakers facing downward. With older Defender series you could clip into holster with speakers facing up or down. I sometimes prefer speakers up in noisy environments with the holster latch clip facing forward. But not a deal breaker for me - It’s still probably the toughest case out there and has proven itself many times over.

If you are like me and don't like carrying a phone in your pocket or drop it all the time then you need one of these. I have used one since the early days of the iphone and it has saved my phone from breaking and also it is more comfortable to carry (for me anyway).

Holder is much larger than the phone case. Tight on one side and loose on the other. It feels like the phone is going to fall out. Also the clip is in the center, just off from where the new apple control button is. If you put it on the right your thumb goes down in the depression and cannot pop the phone out of the case. Someone did not do their homework on this one.

Big disappointment after all these years.
I’ve had Otterbox Defender cases for all my iPhones going back to the iPhone 5. I’ve always appreciated their robust protection. Based on my past experience I ordered a Defender for my iPhone 16 Pro. I kept it on my phone for one day and sent it back. Here’s why: 1. It just looks weird. The right side of the case looks like my dog chewed a chunk off it. I know it’s a challenge accommodating the new camera control button, but did it have to look so strange? 2. Still on the topic of the control button cutout, it leaves an inch of the phone vulnerable to damage. After years of great protection from previous Defender cases, this seems very unDefender-like. I’ve read the Otterbox reply to other people who have raised the same concern. I’m not buying it.
On a final positive note, they did a good job of making the Defender into a MagSafe case.
If Otterbox redesigns the Defender to look less weird and provide the superior protection I’ve come to expect, I will buy one.

This definitely works well for my spouse and is the best holster out there. My reason for taking off stars is due to otterbox not including this in the packaging for the defender automatically. It was a dirty move to make people pay separately for this due to “packaging.” It comes in a whole other box and shipping, sounds like more money to me. Even though they give you a voucher in the defender box I can’t imagine many people paid attention to that.

This holster suffers from the same defect that occurred with the original iPhone 14 Pro holster but got fixed. The phone is able to go past the latch position because nothing stops it. There are ridges that should stop it but they are not tall enough.

Phone locking clip on wrong side
This was different from all the others I’ve had,the lock clip is on the other side, my phone camera is clipped in upside down, which I don’t like, I need it to be on the other side like always, very uncomfortable like this, I wish I can get a refund

Always been a fan of Otterbox but the new style holster is a complete fail. My phones have always been immaculate when I trade them in but I’ve had my 16 fall out of the holster more times in the last couple months than every previous model I’ve owned combined. The bottom two prongs have been extended so they don’t fully secure the phone for some reason and if I bump into anything it falls out. Don’t know what I’m going to do as I have to use a holster. I realize I’m in the minority but it’s a big deal for me.

This device holder lets go
I like the clip, and have used them on prior iPhones. That’s why I ordered this one for my iPhone 16 Pro. But it’s disappointing that these (I ordered 2, so if one broke, I could have a spare) are not secure. My iPhone 16 Pro frequently falls off, if i bend over, go up/down stairs, etc. The clip needs refitting, at least for iPhone 16 Pro.

Weak point in the camera button opening.
Typically, the Otterbox Defender has been the gold standard for me in phone protection. With the new phone cases with the camera button exposed, there is a major weak point that allows the phone/case to flex and break screen protectors. The opening on the side also allows mud and water to get inside the cover. I’m not very satisfied with this purchase.

No longer a quality Defender
Purchased the Defender for my 16 Pro assuming it would be just as protective as previous Defenders. As soon as i saw it left about 1in of the side of the phone and screen completely exposed took I returned it to WAL-MART for a refund and purchased a different brand of case that protects the entire phone..

Need to come out with a better design. It does not wrap around the phone, there is gaps. Also can only put the phone one way which works good for your left hand only. To have the name OtterBox on it I expected better, it feels like it is some cheap knockoff.

I use it as a kickstand to watch videos on the iPhone. It's easy to snap the iPhone in and out of the holster. It's a bit difficult to snap the kickstand into position but once it's done, I just leave it there.

Only allows you to clip phone in one way because of the new design for the photo button I am assuming. Anyway, this makes it awkward for me to clip the phone on my right side because it ends up going in backward. I have to unclip it and turn it right side up. It’s been taking some getting used to. The defender pro case also fits very loosely in this clip - definitely not the best OtterBox setup I’ve had

The clip for the iPhone 16 doesn’t seem to hold the phone as securely as I like it to all the previous models were great. This one only has one position that you can actually clip the phone in and the holster has dropped my phone since I’ve had it, which is only been a few weeks, probably five times if you don’t make sure you get it securely clipped and you also can’t clip on the side with the phone. The camera button is there’s no provision for that

I've had this style of holster for my previous otterboxes with good results. Unfortunately, due to the design of the iPhone 16 Pro the phone has to be flipped over in order for the phone to be clipped securely into the holster, otherwise the phone is likely to come out of the holster. In the short time I've had this OtterBox case/holster combo I've forgotten to flip the phone to align the indent on the case with the retention clip on the holster, resulting in the phone slipping from the holster.

A Great Holster for a Solid Grip on your Phone
Good solid grip on the phone, though the profile of the holster seems too thick for the phone to nest into it. All other versions that I’ve had for other phones were the same thickness as the phones.
This in no way, detracts from the hold it has on the phone that I have experienced, though. A good, solid product.

Terrible design
The clip is terrible due to it can’t snap in both sides as earlier models due to the 16 pro design. I can't snap it in like I used to because the new case has only one clip not the both sides clipped like before so when putting my phone back in the bracket frame of my holster I have to make sure its secure going the right way or I’ll lose my phone. I can’t even count how many times I’ve dropped my phone so far. Terrible design and purchase.

I have had a defender case for years. Love them. Tough and they do the job. Protect your phone. Only complaint I have with my newest one on my iPhone 16pro is the lack of any protection on the screen side by the new camera button on the lower right side. It seems to me the button would still be accessible if the screen side had the same small piece as is behind the button. First time I dropped my phone, from very little distance and my screen protector was shattered where there was no raised edge. I think a redesign is needed.

I have used an OtterBox Defender case with holster for years as a paramedic. This unit is still useful in holding the phone, but interestingly, I found this particular model to be less exacting in its fit. The holster holds the phone securely, but there is a lot of movement in the holster. Prior models have had a much tighter fit.

Case and clip work but not the greatest fit
Not happy with how loose the defender sits in the clip, feels like it can fall out. The case itself is ok but where the gap is for the camera button doesn’t protect the phone itself and exactly where the gap is I had dropped my phone and it cracked the screen protector that wasn’t even 24hrs old. If otter box could make the case fit around the whole phone like they use to and tighten the clip up it would be better.

Small issues but good holster
sturdy as ever and with strong warranty this holster is a good one. Two small issues for me: 1) the cut-out for the camera on the iphone 16 necessitates the use of only one side of the case for securing the phone into the holster and one must pay more attention when placing it into the holster to ensure that the phone is secured and 2) the clip on the back is not large enough to engage my belt which allows it to be dislodged easily. I must carry it clipped to my pocket opening which is subobtimal for security and positioning. Most will likely not have this problem as most belts are not as sturdily made or as wide.

After a lift time with Otterbox they finally fail on this design. Within 6 month - 4 holsters and 2 cases replacements. I have a 10 Otter boxs cases in a draw that look like the day there were made. Not this model

Holster is a very poor fit for the phone, not to mention if you are right handed, it is upside down and backward to fit your phone unless you put it in with the screen out which half defeats the purpose; hate having to flip my phone over or end-wise to use it right. Phone is also loose, and the retention clip is so tiny it has no holding power and the phone falls out all the time.

I have always used a OtterBox Defender case because of its reliability and holster, I bought a new 16 pro and when I got a defender case I learn you don’t get the holster with it, you have to request it and Otter would send it to you. Well first of all I get the defender fit the case and want to have it when I buy it. Second it took over a week to get the holster, the shipping took way too long and when I was tracking it , it showed the card being in my town but shipped to the other side of the state just to delay me getting it. It took two more days to get back and finally US snail mail go I to in my box. This is a stupid process, put the holster back in since people buying that case used the holster of thru would buy a different model. Your not saving anything just aggravating customers.

I have owned many otterbox products in the past. This phone case is dissappointing. It keeps popping out of the belt clip and I have dropped it several times. Nothing is broken since it is brand new. Not sure what's going on.

I’ve used Otterbox products to protect my phones for over 10 years. I work in construction and I brutalize my phones! From dropping them off 2 story roofs onto concrete to drowning them in 5 gallon buckets of water. They have always protected my phones. And any time I’ve needed to replace them because of broken clips or rubber covers ripping, Otterbox has been easy to get warranty coverage quickly

iPhone 16 Pro Defender Series Holster
The holster seems to be more of a universal holster vs being specifically engineered and designed to work with the iPhone 16 Pro. The two bottom corner prongs are a lot thicker than the phone which allows for it to come loose and does not secure the phone properly. The phone can also only be holstered in one position which is backwards for me as I keep the holster on my left side of my hip. The phone case is also awkward being that it is missing a section of protection for the button on the bottom right side of the phone. This makes holding the phone with my right hand somewhat uncomfortable compared to having the full protection all the way around the phone. Also leaved the small section of the screen corner exposed for that one chance that the phone will be dropped and hit something that will break that exposed side section of the phone. Hopefully someone will design a case and holster that is specifically made for this phone.

The 16Pro only fit in the holster with one specific side that clicks in where the 7+ would work and click in on both sides. Furthermore, the mechanism that clicks the phone into the holster is releasable with very little pressure; concerning that my phone could easily be displaced and lost. The holster for my former 7+ was far superior in many was compared to the holster for the 16Pro. Overall I’m am disappointed with this holsters quality and engineering

Makes the Defender Series a no-brainer
It’s exactly what you expect from Otterbox. It’s rugged and holds your phone snuggly. I’ve never had to worry about it breaking or my phone falling out. I’ve got a soft spot for Otterbox’s Defender series, but I think it’s deserved after protecting 3 successive iPhones from hundreds of drops (each).

Clip size is not same as the case, doesn't work
This clip is thicker than the phone so the prongs stick out beyound the phone. I don't know if this for multiphone purposes. It does hold my phone just well enough for me to think it is held in place. Once I start into activities like getting in and out of the truck or tractor the phone falls out and or the prongs on the corners catch loose clothing. I have lost my phone in the yard, down the side of my seat, etc.. 8 times in the last two weeks. So I have had to quit using the clip so I don't loose my phone for good. Loved this clip and case set up with my samsung but now with my new iphone it is no good.

Cannot clip phone in holster in either direction.
The phone can only be clipped in the holster in one direction, not upside down. Unlike previous versions this is a horrible design because every time I clip the phone in the holster I end up pushing the new Action Button on iPhone 16 Pro, If I was able to clip the phone upside down which has always been my prefered position, then I would not always accidentally pushing the Action Button. I realize part of the issue with the Otterbox design was due to the new camera button on the side of the phone which is right were the phone would clip in the upside down position. Had I know of this issue prior to purchasing the case and clip I would have purchased a different product than

All and all a very good product however, for the iPhone 16 Pro, the holster does not hold it in the position that keeps the open speaker ports pointed down. The clip mechanism does not hold the phone where the camera quick button is located. I wear it on my left side and this becomes troublesome.

It's nice that you get a "free" holster with your purchase of a phone case. Unfortunately, the holster that I was sent does not fit the phone case that I purchased. My phone case is about 1/2" thick but the holster fits a much thicker case. The phone case does not stay in the holster.

Sadly, not a fan of this one.
It seems that the only way for the phone to feel secure in the holster, is with the screen facing out. That leaves too much opportunity for it to get broken. It’s enough of a problem for me, that I don’t even use it anymore. I found another case and holster that I like better. The sad part is, I’ve bought my last four phones based on whether or not there was an Otterbox case for it. Maybe I’ll like the case for my next phone better, in probably three years.

A huge fail for protecting your phone.
Do not buy this product even if they are give it to you for free. You can only carry the phone with the screen facing outwards. So there is no protection for the screen. If you turn the phone with the screen facing inward the way it should be. You will damage the screen or the screen protector. This is because where the camera button is on the right side of the phone the outer case not extend past that button. Due to this the screen is not protected. On the holder its self there are two raised ribs to stand the phone off the back. The lower rib is located exactly where the camera button is. All you have to do is slightly bump the holder against something or just lean against anything and that lower rib will crack the screen. It was good thing I had a screen protector on and that took the hit and saved the screen. That rib should have been placed lower so it’s not against the screen. Very bad design.

Purchased a Pelican case as it came with the holster. Case was very slippery and the holster was flimsy and hard to put the phone in securely. Sent it back and purchased the OtterBox case, but had to order the holster separately.

The phone fits loose in this holster. I’ve had it two weeks and my phone has already fallen out 3 times while walking around. Now I have a cracked screen protector where the cut out is on the lower right side.
The only way it will stay in the holster is if the screen is facing out. Which defeats one of the purposes of having a clip to help protect it.
I’ve always used the defender series with a clip and never had an issue but this is a poor design.

Clip is awkward and not secure enough.
I'm not a fan of the holster. I prefer the phone to be on my right hip because I'm right handed. Also prefer it to be oriented horizontally. You have to turn the phone so that the speakers are forward in order for it to clip properly in this orientation. This is opposite of how you hold it to talk. I accidently put it in the "natural" way and the phone dropped out of the clip and broke the protective glass. Thankfully no damage to the phone... this time. The Otterbox case is great! It protected the phone. I tried moving the clip to my left hip, which more naturally works with the way you hold the phone when you put it back into the clip. But it is still not really secure enough. I bumped into something and the phone dropped out of the clip. Guess I'll go back to just putting the phone in my pocket. Nice try though... glad it was free.

Defender Pro Holster
Holster works really good. I’ve never had any issues with mine personally. Even doing manual type labor with the occasional bumps and knocks to it. I would however like to see Otterbox come out with some kind of durable pouch with a fastener to be able to slip your phone down in if you choose that rather than the traditional open holster. Still, this holster is a nice product to go along with the Defender Pro phone cover and protects well as the phone snaps into it with the screen towards the holster for maximum protection.

Broke during normal use. Opted for warranty but otterbox wants to charge for shipping. I feel a warranty is replacement of product with no cost. I chose not to pay and no longer buy there products if they won’t stand behind them. This was part of the defender series phone case that I paid a good price for. After writing to the company they still want to charge me. The price of a loyal customer is $9.99 these days.

The Defender Case I purchased is just like my last cases and works well. The holster that was sent from OtterBox on the other hand I am not crazy about. The phone must be inserted upside down or backwards which makes me have to rotate it when removing from the holster. I know it is due to the 16 PRO design but I find it awkward.

I have used OtterBox Defenders since my iPhone 4S. They have always been the best. Im a little disappointed with the new Model for the 16 Pro as it can only clip in to the holster on one side the phone and the holster has a lot of space when it's clipped in which leads me to believe that the phone will come out of the holster when it hits the ground if it falls of my belt? I'm not sure what the reasoning is for both of these changes but because of those two things I have given it the 3 star rating

Was hoping for better
Been using Otterbox Defender products for years. The only issue I ever had was with the belt clip breaking off. The design for the iPhone 16 Pro holster is very disappointing. The phone has to be clipped in upside down, the phone fits loose in the holster, and it doesn’t hold very well. I had purchased the case and had to order the holster. Time to start looking for something better.

New case design is questionable.
OtterBox has protected my phone for many years but I am not sure how well protected my phone will be with the new design. The cut out for the action button exposes a large part of my phone. I fear that this will lead to damage to the exposed phone, damage to the button, and allow dirt and moisture to get between my phone and the case. I suspect after a few drops the area on my phone and the casewill be damaged.

Secure Phone Case with Holster Is What You Need
This provides my desired screen cover and holster clasp to attach the phone to my belt or waist of my pants. I like the secure coverage it provides to the screen and the holster feature. Not sure why you have to order it for free after purchasing the phone case it goes with at the Verizon store. In the past, when I purchased the phone case at the Verizon store the holster clasp case piece was already included in the box.

The product is what we’ve grown to love because of the durability and versatility. Clip is amazing and the case is now MagSafe compatible!!!! The design in the case is exceptional because it is now designed to allow your fingers to slide to the edge of the screen easier because it’s lower in the middle of the cases edges to allow for ease of use! The top and bottom is higher which still gives it the incredible protection from a front drop. I don't see myself ever purchasing another case.

Problem solved!
I know some people have had an issue with the holster not fitting the Defender case very well and the phone falls out. I thought so as well UNTIL I discovered I was clipping it to the wrong side! I kinda think that is the case with all the other reviews where people are saying the belt clip isn't snug and comes off.

Top notch in the past
So far it has been great. The reason I chose the otter box is I had two before on my work phones. When I turned my phones in after three years they looked brand new. I worked in construction so those phones took a lot of abuse. My coworker even dropped his 20’ off a bridge onto the
pavement with no damage. Very pleased with the protection the cases suppled in the past. I wish it still had the hard screen protection on it though.

The belt clip fits the phone case very poorly ! This particular case and belt clip are the absolute worst i have ever bought. I have never dropped any other phone before in my entire past. This particular case and belt clip combination have allowed this phone to fall off of my hip EVERY day, since new. I have replaced both case and clip with a new one in hopes of an improvement in the time between day one and now. No such luck. Still horrible, i definitely will not be buying otter box products in the future. Apparently this company chooses cheap chineesium over quality. I’m disappointed to say the least.

I've loved Otterbox ever since my first one in 2011, and have used one with all my phones. But not including the holster is not only ridiculous, but extremely dumb.

Belt clip works only on one side
The phone belt clip only works properly when you clip it on one side. If you Clip it in on the other side there is a definite danger of it falling out. Also, it was supposed to be included with the price of the otter case, but scanning the barcode would not work so I ended up having to pay for it. A bit of a scam for sure but oh well, I guess it’s a sign of the times.

Defender series for iPhone 16 Pro
I've used the defender series cases with holster through 5 or 6 phones now and have always been happy until this time. The problem is probably more with the case than the holster. My phone keeps coming out of the holster because the keeper slot on it is wallowed out from use.

Holds the phone nice, but the holster digs in my side when sitting and is very uncomfortable, the hole on the phone case to clip into the holster is on the wrong side. The face of the phone faces out when in the holster, instead of being faced inward to protect the face from being banged. The phone will fit in with the face inwards but then t is upside down when removed to use.

Slip & fall
Does not appear to grip the phone in the same way I was accustomed to with your older models. The phone is falling out of the holster several times which never used to happen with the old model.

Appreciate free product, but a waste of plastic
Thank you Otter Box for giving this to me free with my purchase, but I can see why it was free. I am guessing this was a design that went wrong and they are just trying to pawn it off on people, because I really don't see any use for this thing. My phone doesn't stay securely in it, and even if it did I can't use it as a stand or anything other than clipping it to my belt. Ended up tossing it.

The phone case is great but the belt holder is worthless. My phone won’t stay clipped in to the plastic belt clip holder. It has fallen out several times but luckily I have been able to retrieve my phone each time. I have stopped using the belt clip but continue to use the phone case

I purchased a new iPhone with an otter box cover but it didn’t come with a belt clip
After purchasing it separately my phone now falls out and doesn’t clip in securely very disappointed with this product

Sometimes, it really is a happy little accident.
I originally ordered this clip for my husband’s phone. I have the 16 and my husband has the 16 plus. I ended up getting the 16 clip. I had planned to get myself one after I got his, but there seems to have been a happy little accident. However, it’s a wonderful product! I love that I can change the direction my phone sits while in the clip. I don’t have to worry about pockets either. My favorite feature is that it easily becomes a stand for my phone. I can easily video chat with friends and family while cooking, cleaning or working on a homework assignment. My husband was bummed that I got one instead of him. I can’t blame him. This thing comes in handy!

Well worth the money! I had bought less expensive holsters, but they didn't fit properly and were cheap. Sometimes you have to find out the hard way! Get the original!

Disappointed
I have had a broken screen and a broken screen protector at different times with my new defender. The belt holder just holds the phone in one orientation and not very well. I have owned a lot of defenders in my time that did a great job but this one is terrible.
