Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but for one thing... Great case. Previous Otter case lasted 6 years and was still in great shape -- just had to switch cases when I upgraded the phone. There has to be a better way to seal the lightning connector port though. Every time I tried to open it I had to get a knife or use my teeth. After two weeks I just ripped it off.

I swim with my phone, my toddler may throw my phone, the possibilities of mishaps are endless and I wanted a case to withstand it all. Although, I wish there were some more color choices. Overall, I’m pleased and feel better knowing my phone is protected. Even though it’s not called “life proof” any longer, this case (so far) still has the capability to withstand whatever life may throw at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Protection with some Drawbacks Case is a 10/10 for protection, looks and feel. Downfall is that the case does impact speaker sounds. Not bad for calls and videos but definitely poor quality when you're trying to listen to music, bluetooth headphones are a must.

For comparison I dropped my commuter case 15 feet and no breakage at all. My biggest drop with the fre was from a rolling chair onto a rubber mat. That’s less than 2 feet, and it seemed like I dropped it off a building. Won’t be buying another fre. For a 100 dollars I shouldn’t even have to send in my case for warranty. The product should be way more durable. My 35 dollar Amazon case held together for over a year before it started to become faulty. I should’ve just bought another one instead of wasting an extra 65 dollars on this piece of junk.

It would be nice for a little more color variety (maybe a blue) and if the charge cable access was a snap (like LifeProof cases were) rather than the rubber swivel plug style that this case has. Pulled 1 Star away for the last item.

The screen protector didn't fit well on the screen and made it hard to type, so he took it off. He dropped his phone a week later and shattered the screen. I feel like a cheap case would have protected the phone better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There's good and bad to it I didn't have any problems with the fit to the phone, even with a screen protector already installed. Button operation is fine. Charging via the MagSafe charger is simple and works better than the Apple branded charger. The issue I have is that the plastic screen protector sits about 1mm off the screen (with or without the other protector installed) so it's an additional bit of noise when typing, and it requires extra pressure I wouldn't normally be exerting. Doesn't seem like much, but if you text for a majority of your communication, it becomes an issue. I'll be keeping it because it's waterproof, and for outside sports like hiking or cycling it means I don't have to put my phone in a sandwich bag to keep it dry. But this will end up being my inclement weather case, and I'll stick to a standard Defender (which has been my usual since 8 generations of phone previous).

I have to hit the screen so hard to make it type and it’s so loud, and yes I’ve called customer service and did everything I’m supposed to they even sent me a new case and it does the same thing. Also it’s a pain opening the port to charge it. Very disappointed.

As someone who is regularly in the outdoors and is generally clumsy, these cases have never failed to protect my phone. Although I've only been using this case for my iPhone 14 for about a week, it seems to be of a similar quality to past models. The screen protector lays closer to the phone screen, making using the actual phone easier, and the speaker covers are indented to help protect the foam covers. I'm wary of the hinge design they've used for the charging port because it seems like it will get worn out over time, but it's too soon to tell.

I can’t even talk 3 minutes without the audio going out. I waited months for this case to come out and have had Fre cases before and no issues- just the iPhone 14.

I have only had the case on my phone for 5 days and the plastic screen cover is already becoming so scratched it’s beginning to be hard to see the screen. Mind you you can buy a replacement screen cover, only the whole case for a 100 bucks, will not be recommending

When playing videos with sound you can barely hear it and it vibrates the whole phone so it makes your hand itch/feel numb. I have been buying lifeproof cases as long as I have had iPhones but now I might have to switch to something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Performing Case The Otterbox fre is awesome. I like it because it is truly a sealed case. I literally wash my phone (in the case) with soap and water sometimes. Phones get gross. If I’m working on something and my phones in my pocket it gets sweaty and linty and nasty, or muddy, or greasy, but I can just wash it off. The ports stay protected and “un gunked.” Bottom line if you’re rough on your phone or if you just use your phone while getting dirty, this is the case for you. And if it breaks or fails within reason otterbox will replace it. Not everyone needs this case but if you do it’s worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very secure and very slippery I bought this case because I'm an old user of the Defender series that had a built-in screen protector which has been discontinued. The case is definitely waterproof and seems like it would take a fall no problem. Regarding that, this case is more slippery than the phone would be on its own. I have very large hands and this case never felt secure when I was holding it. There's just no friction to be found. In addition, there is a grid of small dots on the built in screen protector, which is supposed to help with some image/refraction issues, but I just found it very distracting in dark mode. The back of the case has a large bump out to accommodate the camera, so it rocks feverishly when being used on a flat surface. The design seems to focus entirely on protecting the phone, but not actually using it. You need a coin to open it as well, so you can't remove on the fly with your fingers alone. The charging port absolutely requires you have fingernails to use, so if you bite your nails, you'll struggle to open the flap.

I have used Lifeproof for years and years and since my 11 pro case, these cases are garbage. They have to be replaced every few months because the cover over the camera is so scratched you can’t take photos. Also the screen cover on this one always looks filthy, even after it’s freshly wiped and clean. Not a deal breaker, but not ideal. I love everything else about the case. If only they could fix the camera cover…..

I’ve had lifeproof case in all of my iPhones for years and I’ve always stood by them and recommended them to everyone but the redesign of the charging port cover is horrible! They used to flip open and closed from the front and had a foam seal inside. Now it’s just a plug with an o ring around it on a rubber flap that will surely break after a short time of usage! And to make matters even worst. You have to pop it open from the bottom on the side of it which is dang near impossible if you have short finger nails! I’m very disappointed??

After only 3 days of use, the plastic covering the photo lenses is completely scratched so that all my photos appear blurry. My work involves outdoor work in remote areas (hence the love of lifeproof cases) and photographing and recording observations is a key component of what I do. Not being able to use my phone for pictures is less than ideal.

Case presses on existing protector causing the protector to show bubbles in the 4 corners of the screen. I say this not as a criticism but an observation. If you’re going to leave the existing screen protector on, this case isn’t going to look good.

However after just under a year of usage I find it difficult to take a picture using this case as the lense cover became so easily scratched that it makes all my pictures blurry. The screen cover is not bad but it too has gotten scratched easily. The covers for the speakers slightly muffle music when it’s played.

I received a warranty replacement which was easy and quick but as I tested it in water I noticed moisture formed all on the inside even with a bit of water leaking in. Very disappointing and not worth the money, you’re better off buying a cheaper otter box cause this case definitely isn’t “life proof.”

Previously I paid $100 Canadian and great replacement service. For my new iPhone 14 that price almost doubled…this will be the last time I will buy my favorite case after years of fair price and great service, unless price changes. Very disappointed loyal customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wont charge in wireless car charger Can’t charge my phone in my car on the cordless charging pad. The camera part of the case has too big of a lip and won’t lay flat enough to detect the phone. Very bummed because this case is very expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Not bulky, super clean, perfect for those who are a rough on their phones. Definitely take the screen protector off your phone before you put on the case. To me the $100 is worth it if you want to keep your phone in good condition and you plan to have it for awhile.

While extremely disappointed that otterbox raised the price so much (almost double once converted to Canadian $!) it is still among the best protective cases available. Previous cases have survived - being run over by a truck on a slushy road (we backtracked for 15 minutes looking for it) - an hour at the bottom of a pool (long story!) - being drenched by a car driving through a big puddle Other cases may be less expensive but they lose integral parts and then are not waterproof

Rated 5 out of 5 by from stiffness in cover The screen cover is too thick, you have to push or tap really hard to make the phone work. There is difficulty in twisting the knob on the left side to silence the phone. Other than, a great cover.
