Rated 5 out of 5 by from Designed to save phone, ended up destroying it Bottom magnet came out, clearly came unstuck, resulting in a high point and a pressure point which resulted in destroying the rear of my phone. Have been quoted $960 nzd to fix it, half the price of the phone. Had only had a few months and only opened twice, once to take check it was clean and the 2nd time to show the grandparents the phone without a case, ( that is when if found it destroyed.) now I’m out NZD $117 for case and $969 plus down time for a repair = $1086. Previous lifeproof cases I never had an issue with, so hoping this was just a one off occurrence

My last one however had the door to the charging plug opening break and not lock closed rendering it Not waterproof. I am happy to see a different plug on the new model for my iphone 14 pro. I now use through the case wireless charging as much as possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waste of money Same issue as so many others. While it may protect my phone, the camera cover is absolute garbage. Within just a few weeks, the lens protector is so scratched that I cannot do a key part of my job with it- taking pictures and videos. I am not rough with my phone. It's either sitting on a table/desk, in my purse or in my pocket. I am the type who never buys something this expensive but, because my phone is an integral part of my job, I wanted to ensure it was protected. BIG regret. Don't buy this case if you want to use your camera.

The screen protector started getting scratches the first week. And now a couple months later the camera protector is so scratched and smudged all my photos look hazy. Not the quality I expect for a the price of the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor Sound and Tactile Touch I used to love Otterbox but no more! I have Iphone 14 pro and the Fré model. the sound is muffled and the touch pad needs heavy push to work. Basically it's a terrible product because the tradeoff of having heavy and waterproof protection vs being able to hear or ability to compose messages is negated, makes no sense and obviously there is some deeply rooted issues in their company in terms of internal communication, product design/performance, etc. Good luck Otterbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not the same quality as the Lifeproof I used Lifeproof Fre cases for years and adored them, but Otterbox's promise of this being the same case is flat-out false. I've had my newest one for 6 months and already can't even use it. The screen protector has scratched so badly I'm having issue being able to use my touch screen, and the camera lens cover has scratched so much I have to take the back of the case off to take photos. The back of the case around the MagSafe ring has also warped very badly. I have not been tough on this case - it stays in my pocket most of the time, occasionally in a lined pocket in a hiking pack. There is no reason for this level of scratching and damage after this short of a time. By comparison, I had my last Lifeproof case for 4 1/2 years, and actually gave it to a friend for their phone when I got a new phone. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1because I have dropped my phone without any damage. However, I've now gotten to the point that the case is unusable due to the scratching, so its level of protection doesn't matter. I won't be buying another Otterbox case.

Okay …. so this is how it goes… I had to order another OtterBox, because the first one did not fit correctly… So I don’t know if I can honestly give you a five star rating… as, the first one had to be replaced by a second one… So, honestly… The review is less than spectacular! But I am enjoying the second one that I had to order… And it does fit :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overpriced piece of plastic First took forever to even be able to buy it even after signing up for emails. It got released and by the time I knew it sold out next two months! Then once you first get it screens loose and can hear it rapping against the phone. Which also affected Face ID for the first month(worked it self out but very annoying to start) and now that I’ve had it almost a year even after daily cleans my camera protector is foggy nobody can hear my on my phone due to mic being covered. And also can’t set it on anything standing up the hard plastic just slips. Overall serves its purpose but for 100 dollar case you’d expect way better especially with the wait. Very sad as the defender series was very solid for cheaper when I had my iPhone 12.

I put the case on my phone and realized I had no protection for the screen. My wife bought three cheap cases for $30 online and they all came with glass screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly great. Really a 4.8 stars The case fits well. I feel like there are improvements in the case from the lifeproof designs. I like the silence button knob. Mag works great with it. The screen protector fits perfectly. There are some dots in it that you don’t notice when using the phone, so I don’t mind. Really I give the case like a 4.8 stars, there are just two small things that bother me that seem somewhat unavoidable. One, the size of the covering for the cameras makes it easier to scratch the covering over the camera lens. Because of the configuration of cameras on the phone, I’m not sure adding rubber bumpers between cameras would help and not be visible. The other tiny thing is around the cameras there is a barrier ring if plastic. It seems necessary, but occasionally I use standard sized mag safe accessories that bump it just enough that they work but it offsets them just a bit. Makes the connection feel less secure. But thus far hasn’t seemed to make the accessories unusable.

Camera protector is not tight on camera lenses either, so leaves a lighting glare when taking pictures in darker conditions. Case does seal well and feels good in hand, mag safe is strong.

It’s fine that the iPhone is pretty waterproof but that doesn’t stop salt and sand from being trapped in the charge port or dried to the screen. This case give 100% protection agains this. MY only downfall is complaints from others that my phone is muffled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from iPhone 14 Pro Defender XT case Horrible! When you spend 11/2 hours, trying to install it, and being unable, it should have negative stars. Definitely not like the OtterBox cases I have used for decades. I actually contacted a real person to order 2 of these XT ones and a Fre one. Don't know if that a one will be able to be installed. Bought these early, waiting for the 3 iPhone 14 Pros to come from Apple. The customer service person did NOT tell me the XT is hard to install. I should have gotten the regular Pro Defender, not the XT. OtterBox is closed, and I doubt they will allow be to exchange it. Really upset! My husband got his installed, after gouging his thumb. I am sure the hard plastic has scraped a $1500 phone. OtterBox needs to send me the one like they used to have!

First, there are grid-like dots on the screen that are extremely distracting, and secondly and most disappointing is the huge negative effect this case has on the camera lens. It’s causes light sources in dark pictures to be blurry and creates unsightly blue flare spots next to the lights.

All my photos have been affected by this film. I have tried soap and water and windex on the case, and the film still makes the camera images blurry. I will need to purchase a different product as this one does not meet my needs.

I have to use my headphones or car to be heard properly or simply not on speaker phone. The case does scratch and dent easily.

So this time when i got my new iphone i wanted something stylish but strong enough to protect my phone when dropped. Otterbox did not dissapoint. The case is not bulky to the point where you cant manage it but its thick enough to protect the phone. Also this black color case looks super cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leaks, Defective & Charge To Replace I really wanted to love this product. I made sure to order from the official Otterbox website. I was so excited when it arrived after an agonizing wait. I'm hard on my phone and I need something that can keep it safe- Between my previous experience with Otterbox cases and numerous online reviews, I knew this was the case I needed. I did a water test when it arrived, as the instructions suggested, and it leaked. I tried again; it leaked again. I put it on my phone just to have something to protect it while sorting out the issue and with minutes the screen inside the case was covered in dust. I assume I've been sent one that is defective, no problem, I call to get it replaced and I am forced to pay shipping for a replacement. They sent me a defective product and I have to pay to get one that works?!? Unacceptable. I'm pretty skeptical the new one will be any better and I have to wait 2 weeks with an unprotected phone in the meantime. Overall, this has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I will not be purchasing any future cases from Otterbox and recommend others do not as well. Don't make the customer pay more to get the product they paid for in the first place!

It is very hard to get it open since I don't have long fingernails, and the connection to the rest of the case seems very flimsy compared to how robust the rest of the case seems to be.

It does have the best built in screen protector in an Otterbox case I’ve gotten so far! Overall I like the case and the Maglock accessories that go with it, I just wish it had a little more rubber surface on it.

I have not had a chance to reach out for a return and have been using this case on my phone for a few weeks now. The buttons are nearly impossible to press - my fingers hurt to just attempt to take a snap shot picture. I was sold by the color and my previous otter box case. However, this one is less than ideal. I hope to find time to return it soon.

I also tested this out in my shower, and it helps keep peace of mind! I also love that it covers the phone completely, so super easy to wash off dirt when outside.

It defeats the purpose of having a iPhone pro since I bought this phone specifically for the camera but I also wanted to protect the camera with the best case. I have used life proof cases since 2013 and have never had a camera lens cover scratch so badly. I am not sure if I got a bad batch or what but I am really disappointed. I am not hard on my case and we haven’t even begun summer yet.

My face ID does not work with the case and my camera barely work with the brand new case. I tried to go on Otterbox’s website to warranty this case out and get a new one, but I was unable to do so. I tried writing the customer service and received an auto message saying I need to call in order to get a new replacement. Let’s just say I am disappointed in the new product, customer service and their process.

I took it apart to clean out the camera portion and the magnet on the back stuck to my phone and shattered it. Do not buy if you actually want to protect your phone. Not worth wasting a $1000 phone.

Tried everything thinking it was my phone malfunctioning, but this case covers up the speaker for FaceTime at the top of the iPhone so no one can hear you when you speak. Such a bummer because I wanted to love this case. It’s going back. Feel free to let me know if there are any tricks to make FaceTime work with this case.

I love the slimmer look of the case and they feel less bulky than other styles. I was sold on the fact they are water proof as my phones have gone for numerous swims and I haven’t had any issues. I always do the water test first. I only had 1 case that leaked during the water test but the case was replaced with no questions asked. The cases always last a long time, which makes it worth the pricier cost of purchasing.

Feels like I’m actually able to hold onto the phone without thinking it can just slip out my hand any moment. Built in screen protector actually works bunch of scratches and marks to the otter, the actual phone screen is spotless! Only 4 stars cuz there is always room for improvement, I hope you keep this case series going but I would add a place to attach say a string for a small lanyard. Thanks again Otter ?? for protecting yet another phone, if it wasn’t for investing in you guys I would have gone through more phones no doubt! Best regards

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but needs a stronger magnet The case lives up to expectations. I have had a life proof fre case for each of my previous 5 phones and this one doesn’t disappoint. But the magnet is not strong enough for a car mounting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't buy if you're expecting Lifeproof. I have exclusively used Lifeproof cases from ~2012-current. Working construction - dealing with drops from height, regular bangs, dropped in puddles, etc. and the cases have been amazing over an average phone life of 2.5-3 years. Until now. I regret buying the 14 Pro after finding out this "new" Otterbox case is the only one available. I almost returned it to get a 14 which the old style case still fits. The new version of the case feels cheap, hard plastic, slippery as hell, has hard buttons, etc. I'm not a fan...at all. Thanks

I almost went back and returned my water proof otterbox case, but as soon as I went back to you know (B*****y) and looked at all the other cases for the iphone 14 pro, I instantly was shocked I was like oh my goodness I do want a case that is so well protective it can even go in water and take photos. FYI to whoever reads these comments, Hawaii, USA Has Beautiful colored fishes close by. Read some reviews and I was sad to see this case got some not so nice reviews, made me almost go back to return the case but after I went through looked at all the other cases I was like oh no, this case is great.

This has never happened with the previous models I have owned. Also the protector over the camera is becoming cloudy. Not happy with this case at all.

However, I’m not sure what is so different about this product design as I had the same case on my iPhone 8 for 6 years, I’ve had this one for 2 months and the screens are already scratched up. I can’t even take pictures with the case on anymore because they are so blurry.

Ended up swapping waterproof cases with my travel partner who had a $22 case. Was able to use phone functionally and film underwater. This is overpriced and would NOT recommend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth the money!!! I have been buying Lifeproof Fre cases since the iPhone 4 came out. I bought my first one to replace an Otterbox case due to its poor quality. I know that Otterbox has owned Lifeproof for quite some time, but it appears that their lack of quality has infected the Lifeproof brand as well. There has been a drastic decline in quality and fitment starting with the case I bought for my iPhone 10. With this case for my 14 Pro, I waited for a month of use before reviewing. The case does not fit with an additional screen protecter like it has before. Additionally, the ring/silent switch does not work unless I push really hard on it while turning it. My case squeaks every time I tap on the screen or grasp it by the edges to pick it up. There is an air bubble behind the plastic built-in screen cover. No matter how many times I squeeze the excess air out of the case it comes back within minutes. The cover over the camera is already scratched enough to distort the pictures. As with other users the audio quality when talking on the phone is terrible. I was also concerned about the magsafe magnets coming loose and breaking the back glass of my phone like with other users, so I just removed them because I do not use the magsafe features to begin with. Lastly the volume up/down buttons and lock button require an excessive amount of pressure to engage and function. Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with this case and will not be buying another one.

The last three weeks is ridiculous. It’s a complete hard shell no grip to it. Falls off my bathroom counter every day while I’m in the shower because of hipatics. Doesn’t matter how far back I put it, it migrates and falls off. No longer can just toss it in my cup holder in the car to stay put, it flys out if you hit a bump. I need to put it in a mitten and then it stays.

I was a fireman and also on a SAR team and that phone took countless knocks without any damage. Got the OtterBox Fre for my 14 and the water test was fine and the case looks and feels solid. Not anticipating any problems.

To start off there are little dots on the screen that drive me nuts. It is especially bad on a white screen.. Second the front facing camera produces a very blurry picture after installing the case. And yes I’ve tried removing the case and cleaning it very well but still the same blurry picture. Also the sound quality is muffled really bad but that is expected with a water proof case. This could have been a great product but the built in screen protector is a bust and I do not recommend buying this product.

The most current MagSafe case on my iPhone 14 Pro charges flawlessly. The style of the case is “Utilitarian” or “Business,” but the protection is more important for us. Price seems a little high but customer service has always been excellent so the overall value is reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OTTER BOX has let me down… I’ve had an otter box since my first phone and I have NEVER been let down, the best protection I could ever ask for came from this company. I just went from an IPhone 8+ to a 14 pro max and needed a case. Well, I’ve been let down this time… the defender series is typically what I go with (I actually LOVED the plastic screen protector - it has saved my phone from damage for years). However the new series is without - though at least the back is still rubber! Also - the dip where the screen is at is much more shallow leaving the screen more vulnerable to damage (design fault) so now, I decided to get the fre as that’s the only case that still has a plastic screen, HOWEVER. The back of the case is not rubber so it slides around and could easily be lost. Great design with a plastic cover to protect the camera though - but also: on the audio side. Since its water proofed the audio suffers to maintain that. Case would have been PERFECT (with a non-waterproof version of this case perhaps) that had a rubber back and less engaging speaker covers… I hope things change in the future because this has been a struggle to find the right case now. Overall it’s better than the alternative I suppose but for $100 on a case this was an overlooked issue.

Most annoying for me: UGLY pink and purple colors (the few other options were not of my liking either) Plastic film “screen protector” that is cheap and gets dirty so the facial I’d feature doesn’t work. It also wrinkles. You have to keep cleaning so your facial is works. The little lid that closes where you attach the lightning connector is hard to grab for opening for charge. Extremely expensive for the piece of crap it is. I got rid of it.

Some might think when getting it that the dots on the screen protector are annoying but I really don’t notice them. I do wish the case wasn’t so expensive and given the price I wish it would have included the lanyard. Taking the case off is a little tricky so try not to.

In the earlier years they have been great. With my last 2 iPhones the Fre case quality has gone down. The iPhone 14 Pro Fre case is terrible. The screen cover is so raised above the screen that I have to re-press the screen a second time a little bit harder just to get the screen cover to meet the screen to touch and open an app or anything on the screen. The air bubbles between the screen and the screen cover are really bad with this model. I am going to give this a case a few days to grow on me but likely return it. Get it together Outer Box. If you're going to charge a premium price for a product you had better build a premium product.

The screen protector over the camera lense has been scratched for 5 or 6 months. Maybe even longer. Photo wuality has gotten so bad that I have to remove the back cover every time I want to take a decent picture. I do like that it’s water proof, but now when I have to remove the cover the rubber seal pops out and I have to readjust it every time before I can close it up. Also, the area where the mic is for speaker phone seems to get clogged easily so I can’t be on a phone call on speaker or the other person cannot hear me. I have taken it fully apart and cleaned it several times and then it works great for a couple weeks and that’s it.

The drop proofness is great, but the camera is now unusable as the glass/plastic cover over the camera is scratched after only several months in my pocket. I am not sure what changed, but this has rendered the case unusable for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fre Series Issue Distorting Voice I bought the Fre series Otterbox from Amazon at the time I bought my iPhone 14 Pro, in April of this year. People kept telling me that they couldn't hear me, that the audio was distorted. This happened both while calls were on speaker or not. It got so bad that I took my phone in to Apple Support twice, both times they said there was no issue with the phone. Fast forward to now, October, where I finally removed my phone from the case and made a dozen calls, everybody I talked to reported crystal clear audio. I contacted Otterbox Customer Service and they said nobody else has reported this issue and there was nothing they could do. DO NOT BUY THIS CASE.

The camera cannot focus properly even when brand new , let alone when it gets a little scuffed. I have to remove the back cover in order for the camera to work properly. Extremely POOR design. It’s very frustrating that OtterBox doesn’t actually address the issue instead they sell garbage and then offer to replace it with more garbage. Life proof was way better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely not what Lifeproof use to be! I have had the exact same lifeproof fre on my iPhone 6s for years, that quality is superb! I just got an iPhone 14pro and obviously I wanted another lifeproof fre. Boy am I disappointed in a $100 case! 1.) Charging port. Previously the port cover is on a hinge system. The new one is an otter box, so it is rubber and I can see it breaking within a few months, rendering the $100 case no longer waterproof! (See attached photos of old and new port covers) 2.) Fit. I tested my lifeproof for water before putting my phone in the case. It passed the water test, however after placing my phone in the case, the top does NOT fit all the way. I have attempted reinserting my phone multiple times and it still has a gap, which I am afraid is not actually waterproof now. (See attached photo) 3.) Rubber sides. The old cases the rubber was quite “sticky”. This new one it is slick, which is surprising for rubber. I can see myself dropping this larger phone due to not having the “stickiness” on the edges. 4.) Dots. Upon purchasing no where on the site did I see anything about dots in the screen protector. They are quite distracting and I hate it! All I all it is a case to cover your phone but I’m personally seriously disappointed with lifeproof (otter box) fre case for the $100 price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same song and dance, with a twist? Like so many others, I bought my Fre for an iPhone 14 Pro based on my passed experiences with Lifeproof. Even after buying a case for an 11 Pro after the acquisition it was a good buy, now with the 14 I'm not so sure. Most of what I bought it for has worked fine however both the camera and screen protectors are out of whack. More so on the camera which has been well cared for as I use it for work. Originally fine, after 6 months I began noticing that shots were blurry. No amount of fiddling or cleaning with lense cleaners and lense tissue resolved the issue. I AM NOT a happy camper! In speaking with Tyler today (9/18/23), I am told that the engineers are aware of the problem and an update supposedly has happened. I'll spring for the $10 in shipping to see, but only once. If this fails, I expect I'll be looking for an alternative. Lifeproof/Otterbox used to be such a quality product. Let's hope they've heard our concern and upped their game. Otherwise they could wind up in the pantheon of failed products. Maybe sapphire glass instead of plastic?

But for the price I should also be able to take pictures that aren’t fuzzy. First case lasted about 2 months before the pictures started looking bad. Obvious that the coating on the glass over the camera lenses was falling off. Paid for another one to be shipped under warranty and same thing happened. Talked to customer service to ask what they were doing to fix their design flaw and was told maybe they would make a change for the next model. Doesn’t help me and don’t want to have to get new cases every 2 months. I guess this is my last Lifeproof case.

But the plastic that covers the front of the phone as well as the camera lenses scratches so easily! Within a week I had scratches, so paid to have a replacement sent. The replacement scratched over the camera lens within a couple weeks impacting my photo quality. I do not put my phone near keys, just regular use in my pocket. Now it's been over a month and outside the return window. Super annoyed I'm stuck with this crappy $100 case. I've ordered a much cheaper case I'm using now. I'd like my money back, Otterbox!

After just a few months the cover on the camera lens is all scuffed up! The front cover on the phone screen isnt. Do they make the lens cover out of cheaper materials? Also when I’m on speaker phone people say they can hardly hear me. This was a waste of $100 !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You don’t get what you pay for I used to love these cases when they were Lifeproof. Since Otterbox took over, the quality has greatly decreased. I only used this case for a week or so, because 1) the top of the case has a small gap when installed on my phone, so I fear it isn’t sealed well 2) the sound quality is decreased greatly, even after taking the recommended steps to “re-seat” the phone in the case and 3) one of the MagSafe strips fell out the first time I took it off my phone (same day I received it). I’m also not crazy about the flimsy-feeling of the charging port cover, which gets opened frequently when I drive to connect my phone to my car (not every car has Bluetooth capable CarPlay). I probably haven’t used the case long enough for the port cover to break off or the screen and camera covers to get scratched (as others have mentioned) since I switched to a Defender case after a week. But I’m disappointed that I paid $100 for this case from the Otterbox store on Amazon, only to have it feel and function like a $19 case at best. I finally had the time to sit down today and start the process online for a warranty replacement, only to get the message that the online option is not available for my phone model (iPhone 14 Pro) and that I will need to call. And today being Sunday (my only day off) the customer service department is closed. I’d like to give this case another chance, since I paid so much for it and had high hopes. And I really like the Valor color scheme of the Fre, versus the color of the Defender I’m using now.

They said that it was approved and sent out. Now it’s been a month and I’ve called 10 times and can never get ahold of anyone.

Some road rash and the gasket dislodged. The phone seems fine no scratches on the screen and camera. The impact cased the phone to make an emergency call. Ordering a new one after this review

When I had learned that Otterbox absorbed LifeProof, I was worried product availability and standards would falter. Sure enough, the new iPhone 14 Pro has been released for a few weeks now and STILL no ‘Otterbox’ Fre case. On the site it says “coming soon”; what does that mean? Are there really no more specifics than that? Charging $100 for a phone case is an insurance policy and investment, one that people would gladly pay in exchange for the advertised capability. Otterbox, get it together and get this product out or your leading competitor will have new stakeholders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it I feel much better finally having my phone in this case, although it was annoying to have to wait so long to get it. I understand they have to develop it and all but it would have been less annoying if they kept us updated on when it would be coming out. The case seems sturdy. I actually like the new toggle to silence and unsilence the phone. The screen has some mildly noticeable dots on it about every quarter inch, but I’m ok with that too. Everything seems to work. Just noticed they’re selling them for $15 off on their website now. That kinda sucks. But I do like not having to worry about dropping my phone or getting it wet. My last iPhone 11 Pro was in an otterbox defender case but got wet from the rain and I couldn’t use FaceID anymore so this will prevent that from ever happening again. Overall I give it 5 stars. I should take some points away for it taking so long and having to be very cautious about scratching my screen for the past 6 weeks, but that would be unfair.

I got the iPhone 14 pro when it came out. and when life-proof was still life-proof. they were on it. waterproof cases at the ready. I kept checking weekly to see if preorder was avail. and one week it was, I was excited to put my order in (this was about 1 or 2ish weeks ago I think). The pre-order was open. I made my account, signed up to get emails and purchased the pre-order (notification went to my apple wallet). it had been days and I was curious why they hadn't sent an email saying it had shipped, I was quoted this next week it'd ship out. apparently its all a lie and the website was not running properly, glitched out or something. Well, the money I guess never got taken out & and yesterday, their site says "be notified when its available". wtf otter box, like come on. I want to have my phone well protected but your not being able to settle on stuff makes me not want to buy your case. also, if this review gets deleted like others say theirs have. I'm just going to keep posting a new review.

This case is so cheaply built compared to every case previously. This feels more like a $50 case and in no way $100. Sadly it’s the best option that covers all ports otherwise I’d be finding a new case. Step your game up otterbox and get with the program.

I want an Otterbox like all the others I've had bc they have what it takes for comfort, grip and safety, but the critiques make it seems like cost cutting and short cuts are standards now. Your reputation and my experience with your cases is why I post this vs just buying another product. I just bought the 14 Pro and need it protected - now, as in now. $99 is worth it if it is like all the products I've bought from you before. What is the time frame that I'd have to wait? Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Okay I really don’t understand all the negativity surrounding this case. I was actually really surprised to see such a low rating for this thing. I’ve had mine for about a week or so and so far it has kept my phone perfectly protected and brand new looking. I’m switching from an OtterBox defender for a couple reasons. The built it camera lens protection was a big one. Because this is such an expensive phone and the camera lens sticks out so much I was always so worried to scratch it. Even with defender and even in my pocket I kept thinking my keys were going to scratch it up. With this case I don’t have to worry about that. Okay and the built in screen protector, even tho it’s plastic and flimsy feeling it stood up to the water test and no water leaked into the case. Another reason I’m switching from defender is the dust build up in the speakers. I’ve always purchased defenders for my phones and while they do so great at protecting every other aspect of my phone the dust on those speakers would always drive me crazy. This case I don’t have to worry about that either. Some people said the switch for the silent mode was hard to use or something idk I got used to it pretty quick and I kinda have grown to like it. Plus I love the green color for this case. All in all I really love it and get compliments on it regularly so OtterBox people don’t listen to the haters who are rating a product based on how long they had to wait for it to be sent to them which to me doesn’t actually determine the quality of a product…come on people

I just got my case today and immediately noticed that this year the back seems more rigid than last year when I had my 13 Pro Max (I have a 14 Pro now) and I had issues with the gasket popping out of the back housing on that model's case. This year, it looks and feels more snug. Audio quality is the same as last year (good in my opinion), and honestly, you get what you pay for. When Lifeproof was still around before the disbandment happened and they merged the two, I've only had a couple issues that Lifeproof/Otterbox handled in a speedy and professional manner. Great warranty and great customer service. And, to all those complaints about the release date of this case, companies like Catalyst aren't releasing theirs until next month. Testing and quality are what, in my opinion, cause these release delays. Overall, another year where i'm left very satisfied with my purchase.

My order seemed to be lost in transit and I wasn’t sure it would make it by Christmas so I called. (I purchased 2 other cases that were gifts) the cs rep tracked it and saw I what I saw and put me on a brief hold. When he got back on he said the were going to resend my order via 2 day priority. The order showed up in one day! I am very happy with the product and the company so I will be a customer forever!

I have purchased more than a dozen iPhones (kids/grandkids/myself) nothing gives me more satisfaction than when I purchase a product that lives up to its claims. That is 100% the way I feel about my Otter/Lifeproof case purchases. Did I like the delay in the latest case for my 14 Pro, no, but if they needed more time to deliver a quality case, I get it, and appreciate it, that is how a company with integrity does things. BTW-if you ever have an issue with your case, they are always quick to replace it for a very reasonable shipping/handling charge-I hope that Otter/Lifeproof is around for many years, I trust this company, the peace of mind knowing my iPhone is well protected make this case invaluable to me-THANK YOU Otter/Lifeproof.

Now I have a brand new phone, but I can’t get a case. Now that otter box has fully merged its companies, it is quite clear that they don’t care about its life lifeproof customers. How long will we need to go without the case we all want? Just release the case before people become loyal customers to your competitors.

My item shipped and then stopped moving for a week, when I contacted customer service I was told they won’t bother to do anything until 15 business days has passed. If that’s customer service before I even get the phone I can’t imagine any better once I get the case. I have been a faithful otterbox customer for many years but no more. Customer service matters.

I love that it protects my phone when I accidentally drop near water or something that could damage my phone. I received this new case (FINALLY) after waiting for its late release and I'm disappointed. It fits the phone correctly, but the new screen cover is extremely loud when I scroll (it sounds like a cheap piece of plastic every time I touch my phone screen) and is difficult to zoom and use the touch screen properly. I miss the simple toggle switch for the silence button (there is some strange dial now and it is very difficult to use). The only reason I'm keeping it is that I ordered an Amazon-waterproof case and people said they were having difficulty hearing me in that case.

What is going on? It’s been several weeks and yet I haven’t got an email. I am another customer who can’t activate my iPhone 14 pro because I need a case. As said previous by fellow customers; your going to lose a lot of customers leaving us blind. I’m giving it until the end of the weekend and am just going to have to buy a case elsewhere.

Some new designs were better but the main change on the front cover wasn’t very good at all I couldn’t use my phone very much at all. Incredibly unresponsive and had to tap very hard on the screen or multiple times. Unusable to say the least. Such a shame it used to be a vey good if not the best case going. Now wasted money.

Regardless of owning the lifeproof brand for 10 years, the lifeproof cases were always superior, and gave the owners true peace of mind in protecting their device. I live with constant anxiety knowing my current case is not protecting my investment. The only reason I got the new phone was because a tragedy struck with my iPhone X that I had since it was released 5 years ago. Please help. I’ve been a lifeproof supporter since the iPhone 4.

Excellent touch screen functionality. Bad: $$$, took a while to release. Fatal: after it got wet, it stopped working as it had out of the box. Now no one can hear me and I “sound like I’m in a tunnel”. This is after dismantling, cleaning and allowing it to fully dry. Now I need to replace my case so I can have normal phone conversations.

I cannot imagine getting such a new and expensive phone without the protection the lifeproof case has provided for years and years. Hope this comes out soon. I do not want a defender case that does not protect my camera or screen and forces me to purchase an additional screen protector. FRE is the only way.

I missed the first round of preorders and by the time I finally received my case, it had been TWO months of having my new phone with a super basic case. Buttttt the Fre case is the only case on the market that is truly dustproof and I need that. Yes there are micro dots on the screen protector (compared to my husbands 12 mini case) they are on that case as well. Yes it was a pain to go through the process, I just really hope this holds up as well as previous models. Glad to finally have it despite mixed feelings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes no sense! I purchased the FRE case for my two iPhone 14 Pro phones. I have purchased Lifeproof cases since my iPhone 4. This FRE case is the most disappointing. I can’t use the cases because the switch for the ring/silent feature doesn’t work properly. When the phone is placed in the case, the case button turns the phone ringer to silent. The case will not allow me to switch the ringer back on. Why would the FRE phone case have a button and not a switch like the phone it is designed to protect? The bottom line is, I paid a lot of money for cases for both of my phones but I can’t use them because I can’t hear my ringers due to the case design. Soo disappointing!

There was too much of a gap between the plastic case over the phone screen causing a loud tapping sound every time I typed on my phone. I would not recommend this case unless they come up with some sort of update.

Feels just like all of the other great Lifeproof cases I’ve had over the years, and now that Lifeproof is officially Otterbox, it’s still the same to me. Great quality! Solid protection! I would pay no attention to all of these negative reviews. This is the best case out there for comprehensive protection for your phone. Yes, it takes a little while for them to get it out after the new phone releases, but heck people! You gotta realize that they have business practices in place that are a little more intricate considering this is a WATERPROOF case and not a back and sides only case. Keep up the great work Otterbox! I won’t buy any other case. Thank you so much!

Front cover plastic bows out a little, so it’s like you have an air bubble under it and you could press it down and feel the play in it, also had a weird feel like it had static electricity on it as you could hear a faint noise when you lightly ran your finger over it. It also does not fit flush on the phone screen. I could not stand it after a while as it looked like it had big air bubbles under it in certain places and went back to a cheaper case which works great looks almost the same and was a lot cheaper. My iPhone 11pro otter box case was great. Maybe because the other 11pro case was made by lifeproof and not otterbox?? I loved it but the same case for the 14 pro, something is just not right with the front cover.

I just learned, however, prior to ordering this case, that otterbox and lifeproof have merged! I know that with merging products together the original product is probably never going to be the same. There is a significant “gap” between the touch screen and the plastic on the screen. Therefore, this is causing a huge issue with typing or even simply pushing any buttons on the touch screen. I did not see any reviews on this issue until NOW (after I purchased this 10 days ago!) I’m so upset about this!!!

This case is horrid, the switch for the ring/silent feature is trash, the new design for the charging port cover is trash, the old Fre used to work perfectly fine with a tempered glass screen protector and this will not. I paid $50 for a screen protector because on these phones they’re practically a necessity, i’m not wasting $50 by throwing it out because it no longer fits with the new Fre design. Congratulations Otterbox, you took the best waterproof iPhone case on the market, and turned it into garbage.

I only use Fre cases and any info that you have as to a release date would be helpful. Stinks I gave to get a case now then the Fre when it comes out later . I’m not interested in the defender , I want my camera covered . Maybe a hefty coupon is in order here for those of us wasting our money ? I already sign for the email so please don’t suggest that . Again , info on release date would be appreciated. Thanks

Cant yall just be honest with customers on when a product will be launching. I understand yall messed up and are very far behind. So what are you going to do about it. I am sure nothing. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is ok, not with the cost though Case is ok. Extremely expensive. If you live in Canada, expect to pay about $165.00 before it is at your door. Concerned with how long it will last. Screen protection is ok, wish they still had screen protector on defender case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otter Box Ruined My Life So my daughter ended up saving for over a year to purchase the new Iphone 14 Pro and asked me once she had purchased it "father i wont have enough to fully protect my phone could you please order me the new Otter Box Fre Series Case for my birthday". i replied with a yes with a big smile on my face. I waited and waited and waited some more as my daughter grew more nervous of the dangers that awaited her phone. Today my daughter dropped her phone next to a man doing construction with a jack hammer instantly obliterating the phone. I hate you otter box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad sound quality The case was rugged, the sound quality was horrible. I couldn’t hear someone talking and when I played music it sounded muffled. People on the other end couldn’t hear me either. I had to use earbuds to be able to make and receive calls. I am returning it.

The top corners are unresponsive and I have to touch multiple times and push down on the case to get it to work. I loved the lifeproof fre before but am done with it now.

I used to work in a chemical area and I’ve even had belt buckles rust or corrode to the point it left stains on my clothes. Phone was always protected! And still looked like new at trade in.

The only issue is the low quality glass used on the camera side. I haven’t had the case for more than a month and the glass has become opaque, which makes pictures look blurry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty indestructible except for a few things. Have been noticing a few things lately. My phone is starting to get hot in the case which hadn’t done before. Also my 90lb puppy stole my phone off the table. He bit it up and snapped the tab on the bottom of the case where you charge it off. So now not waterproof. The phone, however was protected. Just chew marks in it and 1 on the front of the screen protector for the iPhone 14 pro fre case. The one one the front makes it difficult to navigate the phone in that area. If it weren’t for this case, my phone would have been destroyed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's good I just wasn't really happy with this case and I have had it since December and I already had to turn it in for a warranty because I can't even take a picture with it isnt so blurry and I'm not sure why. I have dropped it on occasion but nothing that would warrant the screen for my camera being so darn blurry. I have cleaned it taken it apart cleaned everything I can and nothing made a difference works great for the water proof love that aspect of it but I don't think I would even spend the money in the "waterproof" case next time.
