I’m not a very handy person, and was forcing it for a minute as well, like some of the angrier reviewers here. Can’t help but thing they’re just frustrating themselves for no reason. Follow the video Otterbox provides here in these comments about installation, grab a dull butter knife, and life the rubber edges using that to install. It was super easy this way, now my phone is very secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very snug case, but fits. I have read reviews that said that this doesn't fit. It does. It's really snug and it's a lot of work getting it on. I worked up a sweat getting it on. I suggest putting the plastic piece on first, on a flat surface and pull only half of the phone off the surface and lift u on the lining of the rubber and do half, otherwise, it will keep Coming undone and you'll get aggravated. Then do the other half. It is very very snug, but it does fit and Provides great protection to your phone. In the end, its worth the work Of getting it on.

Honestly switching from the commuter to the XT was a most definite choice, this is way better than the Defender and the Defender Pro, I love the slim profile it keeps, though it does make your phone wider just a tad bit the case itself is wonderful, a surrounding grip to make sure it is secured in your hand and a hard shell back and it is a super snug fit, the only complaint I had was the installation process, I used a guitar pick to install it which made it easier and looked at the instruction video as well. Otterbox did a wonderful job making a very protective case just as thin and just as durable for an iPhone 14. Just please next time on your next defender XT launch please either include a pick or an installation kit.

As for putting it on the phone…I had ZERO difficulty!!! I watched the video on this site and followed the example. I’m a Senior citizen with arthritis in my hands. If I can do it ANYONE can !!!! ??

It’s a snug fit, not too bulky or heavy, not slippery and I love purple no matter the shade! The case does it’s job. The only con I have is the plastic piece in the front. It breaks easily. I have dropped my phone about three times and although it is still in one piece the plastic is chipped and cracked. For the price of the case it should be a lot more durable. I had to buy a new phone case but went with a different company because I couldn’t find a replacement piece ???????

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decreasing quality I have had OtterBox cases on my iPhones since the iPhone 3. When I was purchasing a new phone, my first thought was “I need a new case”. I had the Nüüd case for my previous phone and when I received the Defender series case I was disappointed. The case does not feel secure with only the rubber bumper holding in the top plastic piece. It was reasonably easy to install, with the same frustrations as putting a fitted sheet onto a bed where you get one side set and the other pops back out. Overall I am disappointed with the quality and the product standards that I have come to know and love from the LifeProof/OtterBox brand. I do think this will be my last case purchased here.

The frame which holds the phone securely in the case was a real P in the A to install and the credit card accessory I purchased does not have a very strong magnet. I can easily imagine it separating from the phone and my cards getting lost or stolen. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not my favorite defender case I gave this three stars because the back of the case fingerprints TERRIBLY and with it being so slick the phone is actually hard to hold onto. However, the case seems sturdy and is built up around the cameras, which is nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it ok but….. The case is ok but there is a design flaw. There is a small raised rim on the back of the case around the camera lens opening. I understand that it protects the lenses but it prevents the phone from lying flat. My car has a cubby for phone charging that requires the phone to lie flat which is now useless. I am thinking about purchasing a different model but hate to put out more money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MagSafe does not work Got this case for IPhone 14s. I use a charging stand. The phone will not charge with this case on, but will without the case. My family members bought other magsafe cases the same day for their iPhone 14s, and they all charge on my charging stand with no problem. This is a defective piece of junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good overall grip, lightweight case I replaced a Fre case with this one because I found the Fre to be VERY slippery. This is closer to the Defender I used to have on my old phone. The edge rubber is sufficiently grippy and the clear back gives you enough friction as well. Warning that it will not sit flat on its back. The camera bumper does stick out 1-2mm from the rest of the case. This could be much worse, but it will rock a little on its back if you press the upper left edge. I know some folks had issues getting the case apart/together. Be careful taking it apart, I found it easiest to start at the power port and work my way around to keep from overbending the plastic frame. When getting it back together, I used a plastic wedge to hold back the rubber since it is very stiff. Be patient, pay attention to how it goes together when taking it apart, and you'll be fine getting it back together. The good news is it feels very secure in the case.

Sounds like a nightmare, and so are germs since I work in a hospital. So for that reason; I’ll say to skip. You’d think for the money it would be better designed

This case was nothing like the Defender I bought several years ago, which had two sides that snapped together, enclosing the phone, and then a rubber case over it. Even the packaging this one came in was cheesy. I also thought ordering straight from the company would ensure I received the best. My 14 would not fit in the case and we had a salesman try it. I've returned it, and it cost me $5 to ship back. Like most companies these days, the products just aren't made like they used to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear case decent, lot of scratches when received Got a lot of scratches on the back of my clear back unfortunately, I used to have the black one for a full year and a half very durable BUT I decided to give the clear one a try when I got it yesterday. Shame that it came with scratches on the back before I put it on, I know they have a warranty policy and I hope I can use it but I would rather just get the black case again instead of the case with the clear back.

It was a great case at first, but now I have TWO HUGE scratches on the back from sitting in the same pocket as my keys in my purse. Makes me super upset now and have looks horrible. Only had this case for a few months too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not screen protector friendly My boyfriend bought this case for his new iphone 14. First complaint: could they have made it any more harder to put the case together? It was the toughest process I ever had to do for him. Second: once the case was on it felt slim and great... 5 mins later, I notice his screen protector started to lift from the bottom bubbling, ruining his screen protector. Had to remove the case and ended up returning it. It was also recommended to take the case off every now and then... ya okay with that process? no thanks.

From the beginning it seamed to come unseated very easily. Had my kids put it back together for me assuming it was just me. Goes in well but every time I take it out of my pocket now, it’s not fully seated again. Maybe just a one off, maybe it’s me but still leaving me disappointed.

I am going to test it with my scoshe magic mount tomorrow, but as far as OtterBox iPhone cases go I have yet to be disappointed. I took one star off for the install but am content with it otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Appearance - Very Effective I bought this case in clear/black for a new iPhone 14 partly for vanity since the phone was the bright red color - and this clear case looks great on it. One detail of the aesthetics is that the snap on bezel is clear so you can see the red frame of the phone through it. It just looks cool and is really well done in this regard. It's also very protective with cover for the lighting port. Already dropped it several times - once off the roof of my truck. No damage to the phone at all. Nicely grippy on the sides. The buttons and cut outs are spot on. Great tactile feel for the buttons. The only downside is getting in on and off. Getting the bezel under the lip of the case is not easy. You need a tool like guitar pick or something to help get it on. If you're someone who likes to pop a case on and off a lot - this might not be your case. I don't do that and I like a nice solid containment of the phone so it works for me. Plus, the clear case just looks so good and works so well, why would I ever take it off anyway.

Other than that this case is great works awesome would definitely recommend and the people that say it doesn’t fit iPhone 14. Didn’t try hard enough to put it on, it does fit.

They are slick and can easily slip out of your hand. Extremely difficult to fit on the iPhone 14. Was this even tested on an iPhone 14 or just hoped it would fit?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It fits! Just very snug iPhone 14 user : I was worried about the reviews because otterbox never lets me down. I took the risk and order it. It’s a two part install. You take out the thin clear frame and insert your phone. Place the thin clear frame and try to tuck the purple frame over it. It may take 2 person job because of how tight and firm their cases are. Once You get each corner , you’re set. I love the case ! Super cute and gives my lavender phone more color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really wanted to like this case I drop my phone a lot and I have always been loyal to otterbox. I just got the 14 pro and wanted a sturdy-clear case. We could not figure out how to get the front plastic part to fit. I think my partner and I tried for about an hour. Ultimately figured it wouldn’t make a huge deal. Unfortunately, I dropped my phone ONE TIME and the “shock” had a green line running through my screen. Thankfully I had a ZAGG screen protector that caught the screen shatter. I have dropped my other phones with the otterbox protection multiple times and have never had this problem before. May be looking elsewhere for my next case.

However, the case arrived with the box lid open and scratches on the clear part of the case, making me wonder if this was a return that was resold. It's advertised as an iPhone 14 case but the label on the box itself says iPhone 13. None of those things would have been a deal breaker if the case fit but it doesn't--it doesn't even fit on my iPhone 11. Returning it.

As I was putting the phone in the case I noticed a debris and lightly wiped it with a microfiber cloth and to my surprise it scratched it and is now very visible. I tried getting a warranty for it but It wouldn't let me continue as I'm guessing its a semi new product

The case said it was good for screen protectors and that’s all it said about it. What it needs to mention is that the screen protector only works if you put it on after you put the case on otherwise the case peels up your screen protector.
