Only thing critical I can say is that I have the s20 fe one now, and I don't like the fact that the defender case doesn't come with the slim 2 piece plastic surrounding cover case that all the other otterbox defenders in the past have come with.

This is only my 3rd Samsung galaxy in about 11 years and I work in construction. I knew when I got this one for the Samsung s20fe that it wasn't going to last. The phone comes out of the belt clip section way to easy. It lasted about a month. It looks fine but my phone falls out now. The prongs on belt section are different and where it grabs the cover of the phone, its too shallow. Why do engineers always have to change things that are working fine.

Because when they break, usually within about 11months i can't get them replaced because they are 'discontinued' the kickstand broke off and for some reason and cant even find the model under the warranty section. Same thing as my last two cases. And the company has always responded with 'we're sorry that it's discontinued' I have yet to EVER be compensated for any of them. I'm never buying your products again

I was quite disappointed in this case however. The charging port cover came off in the first two weeks. The rubber is splitting down the sides and the power button rubber no longer works. This is the only time I've ever thought about another brand. As a side note, I also miss the plastic screen cover that kept so much debris from entering the case.

The Otterbox website did not have any screen protection option to fit this phone at the time. Had to order a screen protector separately. Happy with the case itself. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy with some usability issues This edition is sturdy like all other otterboxes I've used, promising that it'll hold up to the bumps and drops I experience frequently. I haven't used the belt clip but it adds quite a lot of unwanted bulk. The casing is really difficult to take off and on as you need to pop small, rigid clips. This will get annoying when I need to wipe down my phone and clean the ports. Also, the cover over the usb-c port is quite flimsy and already showing signs of tearing off (the similar one on my spouse's case has already done so).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wish it was like the old defender on my s8 I loved the defender case on my s8, with the silicone case and then hard outer shell on the outside. i dropped my phone so many times and it never broke didn't even have a screen protector on it and it still kept it safe. This case is so bulky compared to my s8 and I really don't like that its rubber on the outside, primarily because i stick an adapter on the back of my case to mount it on my motorcycle. Since its rubber I can't use the adapter and can't use it on my motorcycle. Overall the case is not bad but it is very bulky and i really preferred the s8 design, wish it stayed that way. This phone is a lot bigger so could be the difference in the design. I'm certain it would do a great job of protecting the phone but I had to get a different case.

I wanted 2 for my wife's & my new Samsung S20 FE when we bought them at Costco year ago but they were not making them at the time I suppose so we bought a pelican case at Costco for less money but it is like wrapping your $700.00 phone in plastic wrap compared to the Otterbox. So when my wife thought her screen was broken her screen (it was only the glass protector I started looking for the Otterbox case for our S20 FE's I was so glad to see that they were available. When I pick up my phone I feel like I have a NEW phone! The only down side was it took 15 days to arrive but hay these are strange times and it was fee delivery. Thank You Otterbox for making an Outstanding Case we love them.

Their prices haven't changed and the same quality and protection is in their product for each style of phone. Granted, I'm the kind of person that drives it till the tires fall off......so, with that said, My last otterbox was good for 5 years before it actually became loose from the phone. I'm in a metal truck all day and an hour at an old metal desk and concrete floors, With every accidental drop that would have surely broken a phone, the cover stayed true to performance. When I finally traded in my old phone after 8 years, the sales rep even complimented on how almost brand new and no scratches or breakage. I'm a firm believer in the brand. I expect a good 5 years again and hopefully, another 8 years of a good phone.

That being said, I thought that like my other Otterbox cases, this one would have had some sort of built in screen protection.

I have no problem with the OtterBox Defender, but I have a big problem with the absurd directions for actually putting it on the phone. They are worthless, just worthless. ..... Like many others I went to YouTube to see how it was done. But I shouldn't have to do that. OtterBox should provide videos on each one of its products, because your customers deserve the help. We shouldn't have to go to YouTube for instructions.

It depresses me SO badly to have an ugly and depressing black brick for a phone. I thought I would get used to it, but sadly not. Even my kids comment on how boring and uninviting it is. I don't care what color the plastic parts are, but why can't the silicone-like jacket be offered in a few more colors? Come on OtterBox....don't leave people disappointed!

The lip is required for certain functions, and the manufacturer did a lot of R&D on this; they came to the conclusion that they couldn't give a screen protector which would work, which still allowed the full functionality of the phone; this includes the ultrasonic thumbprint reader. What they did to compensate was to make a slightly "elevated" lip that provides edge protection from the principle angles this phone would land on in a fall. This interlocking components do a better job of dispersing the energy of the fall, and thus, affords much more drop survival for the phone. Other than a watertight case, I can't see any better case on the market.

The only draw back are the instructions on putting it on your phone! The silly drawings with arrows pointing different directions are useless. For people purchasing an Otter Box for the first time, especially if ordered on-line, will have no idea how to install it! Read the comments people have submitted to the company, who have struggled, and even broken the case, trying to get it on their phone! You have an amazing product! Print written instructions on how to put it on the phones!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I do like the Defender, but... Dropped from the 5 star I would have given due to Otterbox removing the screen protector. The last Defender I had was for the Samsung Galaxy S7, and one of the selling points was the inclusion of the screen cover. I originally bought the Commuter when I got the S20 because that was the only Otterbox case available at the time. If I knew the screen cover was no longer part of the Defender, I would have just kept using the Commuter. They are basically the same case, just with the plastic/rubber layers reversed. The one drawback of the Commuter is it does not allow wireless chargine due to the bulkiness of the back case including the clip to allow it to sit angled. The Defender is thin enough, wireless charging works.

Sure you may pay a bit more but both the inner case and outer case are made from quality materials. The textured rubber sleeve provides a nice grip without being bulky.. Best device protection out there, hands down.

The belt clip keeps my phone right at my side where I need it and it's easy to remove and put back on the clip. Most of the other guys in my company now use Otter Defender cases after seeing my phone fall from a 6 foot ladder and had no damage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved me over $750 the first week I had it Less than a week after buying my Defender case, I inadvertantly left my S20 FE 5G on the roof of my car and drive 7 miles home before realizing it was missing. While driving the route slowly with my wife constantly calling my number, we finally heard my ringing at about the half way point. There it was lit up and ringing while laying in the middle of a four lane main road, in between the wheel tracks of the left lane. Upon inspection, the corner of my Defender is a bit marked up and the screen saver is junk- but my 3 week old phone was in perfect working order!! Thank God I waited the couple weeks for this case to come. It was WELL worth the money and wait!! I've used Otter Defender cases on all my phones because of how well they protect, but this was the best protection needed yet! After this (literal crushing experience, I'm going to replace the case just to make sure I have the same protection. A+ product in my view.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my new phone. Last week I made the mistake of setting my phone on top of the car while loading some things. Forgetting I had set my brand new Samsung S20 on the roof I drove off. After 2 miles, at 55 mph it went flying off, bouncing down the roads concrete surface. I immediately turned around and, fearing the worst, retrieved it. To my amazement the only "damage" was a minor scuff on the Otterbox case and a small scratch on the plastic frame around the camera. I'm a firm believer in Otterbox! And, with phones costing over $1000, I will never trust mine to anything else.

My wife and I purchased two Galaxy S20 FE 5G phones and, based on reviews, we were aware that the phones could be more easily damaged because of the construction of the back panel. I owned an S7 Galaxy that I protected with an Otterbox, and several drops later the S7 was undamaged and fully operational. That was all I needed to order the Defender series case for our new S20 FE phones. They were simple to install and provide great protection. I highly recommending spending the money for the excellent protection they provide!!

So I knew what I was buying, and a chose this case over the competition because it provides excellent protection plus the convenience of the belt holster, so i do not have to cram my phone into a pocket. I have used Otterbox Defender cases for previous phones and always been happy with them. Thanks to them I have yet to break a phone. Instead, I wear them out. A new phone often costs $1,000+, and I use mine hard as a portable communications device, window into the Internet, and still and video camera. This case is excellent protection for that investment and well worth the cost.

For sure with my Samsung Galaxy S8 and possibly with my phone previous to that as well. I'm a tradesman and even with my phone in a relatively 'safe' place sometimes it takes a tumble and a beating. As far as my S8 goes, because that was my most recent phone, it is absolutely mint condition. Since day 1 it was placed into a Defender and I never looked back. 3 years later it's like new. To;dr - Would highly recommend any of the Defender series. Your phone will thank you later.

Dropped mine more than once and phone never took damage. I broke the holster twice and support was fantastic and sent me a new one both times. I just upgraded to a Samsung S20FE 5G and went looking for my defender and was told they dont exist for my model (size difference). waited about a month and an email informed me they (otterbox) was having a sale so I went to take a look and lo and behold there was a defender for my phone. Ordered it. Came within a few days and am loving it.

When I got the new Galaxy 20 FE 5 G there was not a Defender made yet. I bought 2 other cases trying to find something that protected the phone as well . Just like what the title says, the Otterbox is great but the belt clip doesn't fit my gun belt, the belt clip isn't big enough. So I have to clip it to my pocket and it is always falling off from the pocket. The Belt Clip will not fit how wide nor how thick the belt is. Otterbox needs to design a clip that will fit bigger belts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best case ever I had to order this from the website, as it’s not available in Canada. I had the defender on an iPhone and I wanted it for my new phone. The web site was out of stock so I spent two months looking at cases that didn’t compare to my last defender. Finally the web site had stock, so I order it. It fits perfectly on the S20FE. All the button work, so does the finger print scanner. The case rises quire a bit around the camera lens so it’s protected if I drop the phone. The case also is not slippery so no worry about it sliding out of my hand. There is the little cover that goes in the charging port as well. It is a strong sturdy case. I am very happy I was able to find it. Thanks Otter Box.

I am sending it back and purchasing a different case from another company. I hate to not use Otter box because it has been so good over my last phones but I need a screen cover that protects the screen.

Improvements it could benefit is the plastic shell itself not clipping tight enough and it keeps making a cracking sound when handing the phone of holding it to speak.

I had a couple of them previously but had to purchase another one because I upgraded my phone to a Samsung S20 FE and my older case did not fit it. I purchased another case from Amazon that wasn't an Outterbox and it didn't come close to Otterbox cases. I am extremely happy with my new Outterbox and would highly recommend Outterbox!

As a guy with larger habds, the extra thickness feels just right to hold on the S20 FE vs. a little too skinny without it. Definitely get Defender over the Symmetry if you're comparing them, the textured back of the Defender keeps it from sliding off of surfaces.

Upgraded to Galaxy S7 Otterbox case again. Loved it. Never a scratch. My phone was mint until stolen in Walmart. Again upgraded to S20 FE 5G. I love my new case from Otterbox. I have the piece of mind that life happens and my investment is safe from most drops and scrapes. Customer service gets 5 stars. We had a mix up in our order and they helped us get the right case. The 1 and only complaint is I can have any color case I want just so long as it is black. To me, minor, but 5 to 7 different colors to choose from would sell more cases in my opinion... Overall 10/10.

The only part I didn’t like was the hard plastic holder. My previous one broke from the clip. I have to work around tight spaces and it easily got hooked up with pipes & cables. Instead of using the holder, I bought a TOUGHTESTED phone pouch which protects the phone even better & I don’t have to worry about rubbing the phone in tight spaces. I felt that with the holder it was very easy to scratch the camera lens due to the big opening of the case. Other than that, the case is awesome!

It still does that,but I won't be purchasing otterbox going forward. My old otterboxes up to this point came with the screen protector. The current one does not, but I'm paying the same price, possibly more for the otterbox, with less parts. I had to purchase a screen protector separately. Also there used to be different color options for the case. The only color option now is black. I had to purchase a case sticker for color. So unless at bare minimum a screen protector added back then I will be buying my phone cases elsewhere.

Although larger and bulkier than other designs, it's for a good reason... it really protects your phone! Other than a direct phone 'face plant' on gravel, which broke a screen protector, my phone have survived multiple drops unscathed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Won't Slide Thick, durable, and won't slide off a table. I have had one of this line of protectors for years for all of the same reasons mentioned without issue. Purchased one for my dad for father's day after his last plastic case slid right off a table and cracked on the floor. Loving this one so far. The only downside is the rubber case also likes to attract dirt, so it means more cleaning if not always in a cleaner environment.

Putting case on my phone was questionable...took a few minutes longer, maybe better instructions, I missed the picture about separating the inner case. But I figured it out and works like a charm. Does not work with glass screen protectors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too snug I bought this case for my new Samsung S20 FE 5G but the case is TOO tight to get the phone in it without risking bending the phone. The case needs to be 2-3 mm larger/wider. I do not plan on using this case for I risk bending my 1000$.

I was a little hesitant to buy Samsung S20 FE 5G due to the fact that there wasn't an Otterbox available at the time. I went through 3 different cases and belt clips on off bands from Amazon. Either they broke somewhere on the and the belt clips would also bust or not completely snap in for a secure fit. Otterbox defender series is always top notch and always has a perfect fit for protection with its multi layer shell and casing. Along with a secure fit with the belt clip. I'll keep coming back to Otterbox defender series.

My work is constantly handing the phone over to customers for signatures and I feel safe doing so if they were ever dropped. Only negative on this one is no cover on front. I work in a very dusty and sometimes damp area so not thrilled about front of phone exposed. If a small amount of water got on it I just wiped it off now I am more concerned about getting wet than dropping it.

I specifically bought this otterbox for the complete 360 protection (I had several other cheaper choices if I was buying a screenless phone case! Works good as a screenless phone case, but please add the word screenless to the advertisement if you're going to be selling screenless..

My one criticism with this otterbox is that it no longer has a face shield included. I was disappointed with that. I am trying to find one now as my phone will be damaged without something over the face. Otherwise, it is a good product.

While it's a nice case and probably one of the best around, it doesn't have an integrated screen protector that I really miss. I'm told I should buy an Alpha or Amplify screen protector but can't find one for this phone. There are other screen protectors on the market but many do not get good reviews and seem to have design issues. It appears that the improvement in mobile phone technology has not enjoyed a similar improvement in case design.

When I purchased the Defender for my prior Galaxy S7, it had a built in screen protector which is missing on this model. Other than that issue, it is a great case and well worth the price.

Every time it slipped out of my hand or slithered across a smooth surface, I would remember how much I enjooyed the Defender on my previous phone. It has enough of a grip texture so it's slip resistant and I can find it in the depths of my handbag. I only wish it came in other colors than black like other models of the phone.

The design is solid, the clip spring is stronger than most... Clip holds very, very well to the pants, and belt... You don't have to worry about the phone falling off while walking like other higher priced models... Very reliable.... Worth every penny...Highly recommended..

I've dropped my older phone a number of times and never had any problems. Be sure to also get a screen protector because one does not come with the Otterbox. I accidentally forgot to take the phone out of my pocket once while welding, and sparks burned the glass protector shield and caused it to crack, and it was just a matter of replacing the screen protector. No damage whatsoever to the Otterbox.

However, your research not withstanding, it still needs a protective screen cover, just like previous versions of the Defender series. I really miss that. I had to buy a Zagg screen cover. Your Defender case costs about the same as previous versions but has no screen cover. You should lower the price!

It has proven to be the best protection for my phone that I've ever had! I am prone to dropping my phone and whenever I've had the defender case on my phone it has always come out unscathed. A couple of times I went cheaper and paid the price of having to repair my screen. Don't be cheap! You'll never regret using a defender case!

The belt clip is very light weight., and spins unpredictable. I wish that someone could make a belt holder that will secure phone better.
