Another unexpected advantage I found is that the case adds enough friction to prevent the phone from just sliding out of your hand like it easily does with no case.

It is a bit tricky to get apart but it stays together very well. The belt clip broke in the first couple days when I got in the car and it caught on the seat belt. I would prefer a minimalist clip that is more just a kickstand than anything else.

Once I finally got it to close, I had to open it a couple of weeks ago and the tabs seemed to have worked loos underneath the outer shell. Not impressed with this product.

I love the durability and ok have dropped my phone onto concrete and asphalt so many times I lost count but not a scratch on my phone. But I do wish there was more color and design options. I am ok with the bulk of the case bc of the protection but I wish it was a little cuter

Terrible case if you're worried about dirt or anything getting into the plastic part of it and shredding your phone ! Brand new pixel 7 pro, its literally getting sanded. Unless you're cool with cleaning your phone case every day. I got it mid november, by the way. Definitely do not recommend.

Only 6 cases total to choose for the Pixel 7 / pro 7. Iphone 14 has 92 I believe and the Samsung 22 has almost 40 I believe. Come on OtterBox give us some colors options besides black and blue suede shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broken Holster Clip Used Otterbox cases on all my phones for more than 10 years. Never any disappointments until this Defender Series Pro case for my new Pixel 7 Pro. Have had the case just shy of one month and the retainer button that holds the belt clip to the holster came apart from the holster case and my phone fell to the concrete. Case did good and protected the phone but the holster is no good now. Hoping to get a new holster to replace the broken one. Looks like I have to wait to call for a warranty claim M-F 8am-5pm MT.

You have to rotate the phone in reverse (charging port facing up) to clip it. Before, you could just clip it with the front. It will take some time to get used to rotate the phone before and after clipping to use it properly. Not sure how this design was approved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best case ever? I've owned a lot of phones, starting with a Galaxy S3, then S5, then Google Pixel, Pixel 3a, Pixel 6a, and Pixel 7 Pro. I've had even more cases for them all. I originally went with Lifeproof, then when I got my S5 I got a Defender case that was way too big and replaced it with a Spigen. Then I shopped around for a bit with that phone, and ended up with an Otterbox Commuter case on my Pixel at some point. That was my favorite case, and it's what I bought for the Pixel 3a and the 6a when I upgraded. But when they didn't have the Commuter for the 7 Pro, I was stuck with the Defender again. And I was worried this case was going to be a brick again. I was wrong. It's pretty much the same size as the Commuter for the 6a. The whole case is textured rubber so it doesn't slip out of your hand. They left just enough room in the edges for the curved screen. I had to use the phone for a few days without a case or screen protector and got used to the little curve on the edge and I can still use it. Yes, it makes your phone bigger but that's what you bought: a top of the line flagship phone with a big screen and a big battery for its big camera. So lean into it and get the best insurance policy available for your phone: a Defender case.

Not good for me, I won't use the case if I can't put a screen protector on. Very disappointed for the price of the case! Sorry..

I just switched to a Pixel 7 Pro and paid a premium price for a Defender Pro and it doesn't even come with a screen protector anymore. Time to return this case and get another brand. Lost a long term customer.

The other day I was at work on a cherry picker between 15-20 feet high. I didn't clip my phone case on right I had it clipped onto my front pocket. My phone hit the railing and fell onto the concrete below the case just got a few scratches on the corner where it hit but no damage to anything else. It's a awesome and tough product. I would totally recommend this phone case.

No installation instructions are provided anywhere; it isn’t obvious that the rubber “armor” has to be removed and the polycarbonate shell has to be disassembled in order to get the handset into the case. Even a QR code hyperlinking to a 30-second YouTube video could have clarified this.

The belt clip is designed backwards, so you have to flip the phone every time you take the phone out or put it into the case. Major pain.

I am sure the case does what it is suppose to do, but it adds to the size of an already BIG phone (PIXEL 7 Pro) and that makes it a hindrance to putting phone in pocket or even holding in hand. Also, not sure why, but BECAUSE it has antimicrobial properties...it is "bigger" than other otter cases that fit this phone. Plastic is plastic and not sure why that was needed. Perhaps, due to the size, it was felt that a belt clip was needed. It was a waste of cost on the purchase I made. I haven't used a belt clip since 1990. I have had other otter cases and like them, but this seems to be overkill and wish it was MUCH MUCH smaller. I have to believe that technology would allow for the same protection in a smaller case.

I figure if I am carry a device with 4x the cost of my first car (a 1965 Oldsmobile F815 for $300), it should be well protected. To date, none of my phones have been damaged by falls and other abuse.

This version has improved touch at side of screen vs previous. Love the color option as MY phone is easy to see. My phone sees a LOT of sawdust and metal dust. The charging port is always clean because of the protective flap. Buttons work great and are easy to feel even through jeans. I won't buy any other case ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Belt clips are open hooks OtterBox REFUSES to stop making the corners of the belt clip as open "hooks" which catch EVERYTHING and causes unending failures. They uses to have to two bottom hooks connected through with a continuous edge which eliminated the open "hook" that has plagued their belt clips for years now - All to save half of a cent... When I buy OtterBox I KNOW I will be having to repair the belt clips several times with plastic welding because I cant wait for the replacement.

I dropped it while sitting on the toilet-- a short distance that it has been dropped from similar distances before. The screen went weird and I can no longer access the phone. I was wary when this phone case didn't fully enclose the screen and instead provided a separate screen cover. I will not be buying any more Pixel otterbox cases until the screen is better protected. Extremely unfortunate because I have been buying otterboxes for life.
