The Gold Standard
I’ve been using the OtterBox defender since I owned my iPhone 6. To me, this is the strongest most robust drop proof case around. When I get a new phone I always open it on my desk and immediately put into an OtterBox defender. At one time I did use another brand of case, and dropped my phone in the middle of Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. The case broke and my phone got dinged and scratched. Since I starter using the defender, I can recall that I’ve really dropped my phone at least 4 to 5 times, I’m pretty careful. The case remained intact. Aside from a few scuffs on the rubber. No problem and no other damage. Now I’m comfortable that if I drop my phone it will survive unscathed. I love the product. Keep up the good work OtterBox.

Perfect fit and feel for iPhone 14 Pro Max
Perfect fit and feel for my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Case feels good in my hand and seems to be durable. You will need to add protective screen cover to phone and cameras if you want to maximize overall protection. It was moderately difficult to install phone in the case, but is most likely due to the tight tolerances and supreme fit.

Not a life-proof case
I thought I was ordering a new version of the life-proof, but did not know there wasn't a enclosed front making it waterproof as well. For what it is, it is ok, but not what I wanted or needed.

I like this case because it’s not too bulky and it keeps my phone nice and protected. I work in places of the ground sometimes and I’ve dropped my phone occasionally while in the case and everything it keeps it protected and intact. Great phone case

I’ve always used otter box cases or lifeproof, and I bought one for my new iPhone 14th max one small drop on the carpet from the dog knocking it off the the couch and the case is already broken! But I can’t do a warranty for it when I try the iPhone 14, pro, and pro max don’t even show up!!

The case does protect like always, but this case Carries heat way more than the same case on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I loved this case on my prior phone. This one makes my pocket sweat even when the iPhone 14 is in standby even with always on display off. Turning off 5g helps a negligible amount. If I take the case off or change to apples own MagSafe clear case it's way less heat. However without the added grip or texture.

Best Brand Ever!
This has been my favorite brand of phone cases that I’ve had ever. All others don’t do a great job of making my phone look good and protecting it from drops, slips or falls. Otter box cases are the way to go!

Defender case is excellent as usual but without the MagSafe magnet it is tricky getting it positioned properly to enable an iPhone 14 pro max to begin charging.

We have had otterbox cases for the last 10years. We purchased 2 defender pro XT cases for our new 14s. Just like other reviews have stated the case is not user friendly to put on. You will struggle. It also feels the snap-on top cover that holds it all in will not protect the front of your phone Incase it falls. It is at the same level as the screen vs the defender that has some space from case to screen. For what it is worth I don’t think the whole case would protect from breaking your iPhones fall PERIOD. I need my phone out of this case . Otterbox how can I get a exchange for the defender case ?

Definite Protection of Precious Cargo
I enjoy the protection of the Defender case. I feel secure that if accidentally dropped, my precious cargo (iPhone 14 Pro Max) it is well protected. It maintains a sleek design that gives the phone an elegant look. My only critique is that it would be nice to be able to position the phone in either a horizontal / vertical position without having to hold it. Most people don’t clip their phone to their clothing any longer. There are other cases that offer this feature but not the defender.

Phone slips around India’s the case.
The phone slips around inside the case. This is a clear miss by Otterbox. It makes creaking sounds as you use the phone and the phone shifts around inside the case. The rubber outer layer bulges in the underside while you use the phone too. I’m worried if I dropped this phone it would shatter and at the very least my phone finish will be rubbed off on all of the edges as others have mentioned.

Love my New Defender Case!
I bought this Defender Series case for my new iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I absolutely love it. I accidentally dropped my phone on New Years Eve and the case protected my phone with zero damage to the screen or anything else. I highly recommend buying this phone case, as it is durable, light, and it easily slides in and out of your pockets.

This phone case is great. I love the deep navy color with the glodish accents. The rubber part of the case is plenty strong.
The only problem I have is that the clip holster clip is still weak. I was getting out of my car, my phone was clipped to my waist, the seat belt snagged the side of the phone and jerked it out of my waist band. Now the clip part that spins and the clip itself is loose.
Overall it is still a great phone case. Holster needs an upgrade

Not very good design you have put your phone in upside down otherwise your jeans push on the side button and the phone will call people by itself or go into serrie search mode it’s a pain when you take your phone off you have to spin it around to see who’s call of to read a text

Double Protection
The case gives you double protection with a harder material that the phone fits into and a silicone outer case that goes around it. The outer case has ridges and grooves to make grasping the phone much easier. The case fits the phone very well and offers good protection. There is a belt clip and holder so you can carry the phone on your belt.

Protection at its best!
I wanted to protect my expensive investment, and this fit the bill! This is a case for my iPhone that will stand up to the toughest beating (i.e. small kids)! The clip is nice to have while I work, and I use it some of the time, but for the most part that is tucked away and ready for when I need it. My phone has already been dropped by my toddler a handful of times, and it has come out completely unscathed. I definitely recommend Otter Box for hardcore protection.

Injury to right hand
My new otterbox case has caused blisters on my hand and is defective now. The ribbing on the side of the case has rubbed my hand raw and put a permanent knot on it. I tried to remove the rib and smooth out the sides with no luck. I need a replacement case that does not injure my hand, please.

This protector case is ideal for me! It is lightweight and made of recycled plastic. Multilayered case keeps the phone safe from braking, from getting wet or getting dirty. I have a new phone and this level of protection was very much needed, because I broke the screen of my previous one. This is a solid case that does the job very well. It is very durable and practical for me because I use my phone for work a lot and this case helps a lot keep it safe.

I do not trust no case besides the brand otter-box for my iphone. This brand holds up all my phones accidents without ever shattering my screen which makes me one very happy customer. I absolutely love and adore how the case looks on my Iphone 14 pro max

Bought this case for my daughter. She is super clumsy and tends to drop her phone. Well she dropped her phone while having the case on it and nothing was damaged or broken. Went out and bought a few more cases for everyone else’s phone in the house

Solid case
I purchased the case through Otterbox website because I wanted a particular color that I could not find in a local store. However, it took about a week and a half to get. I also purchased the screen protector. It has a good grip and I think it will protect the phone just fine. The only vulnerable spot on the phone are the 3 photo lenses. Nothing covering them.

I got my otterbox defender first then my iphone 14 promax. Installed case on iphone. I walked into work phone in holster walked through the door and it fell out of the holster in front of about 80 coworkers and the cameras cracked in front of everyone on the first day. I’ve used otterbox since iphone 5. Otterbox your holster doesn’t fit. Otterbox are you listening to your customers ?

Otterbox never disappoints! They are the only cases we buy because they protect our expensive phones so well! We have never broken a phone using these cases. It’s that extra layer of protection you need when you are constantly dropping your phone! The clip is useful too if you can’t fit it in your pocket. I wouldn’t buy any other brand! Definitely would recommend.

Very protective and comfortable
I drop my phone all the time and all my previous cases haven’t held up much. Since getting this case, my phone has survived several falls so far. It’s also very sleek and comfortable too, so it doesn’t really stick out as anything over the top. I definitely recommend this to anyone in need of a protective and comfortable case.

iPhone Defender Pro 14 Max case
This is my 3rd or 4th case now that I’ve bought from Otter Box. This one fits better than my last one which was for a iPhone 12. Which I felt never fit as tight as this one. I have always bought Defenders for my phones. The early ones fit tighter than the iPhone 12. Maybe I just got a one which didn’t fit as tight. I’ve dropped all my phones and they all have protected them without a problem. Shame they don’t include the screen protectors anymore.

Still no magsafe? Come on Otterbox
I'm having a hard time understanding why magsafe integration keeps being left out of the best case you make for any phone. I really want to be able to fully enjoy my phone and enjoy your product at the same time, but I'm having a hard time. I was very close to choosing a new case this time around. The case itself is fantastic, and if it brakes as always it's replaced. Can't complain about any part of the case, except that it inhibits me from using my phone to its full potential, and it's a shame. I know it's been mentioned in the questions that there are no plans to change this, but I'm telling you, you are losing customers. My wife opted to buy a different brand this time, and I guarantee she's not the only one. I know you have other cases that have it, so there is no excuse. Until you build a case as good as this one that allows me to fully use my phone, you will lose me as a customer too. Super disappointing.

OtterBox belt clip is junk
Ordered the belt clips for IPhone 14 max and they don’t fit. Apparently my phone is 2022 14 max model and they’re different. Otter box doesn’t make that clear. I’ve had two broken clips and they are junk. Otter box use to be a dependable brand but not anymore.

Great case though not perfect.
Otterbox provides a great case that protects my iPhone investment. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect. My iPhone recently fell out of my jacket pocket and hit the edge of a counter right at the edge of my iPhone screen and the edge of the Otterbox case. Sadly, there is now a "spider" crack at the edge of the screen (my first screen crack after many years of iPhone usage). Despite this event, I will continue to purchase Otterbox cases due to so many other incidents where my iPhone has dislodged from the belt holster or I simply dropped it.

Not Quite a Perfect 10
My first Defender had a built-in screen protector, which I miss. For the next three I had to purchase an add-on separately, and not all of them install perfectly. Apart from this complaint, this Defender seems as sturdy as the others were. It seems a bit lighter and less clunky--I greatly appreciate this because the phone it protects is so large. The OtterBox installed easily and feels capable of standing up to years of use. A great product but (from this consumer's point of view) not perfect.

Good case but started falling apart first cleaning
This case has been very good at protecting my phone from falling and getting physically damaged and does a good job keeping the dust out. My only concern is the first time I took it apart to clean it I used a paper towel and rubbing alcohol and the foam backing on the inside of the hard shell started to bubble and crumble off. After reading it is ok to clean the case with alcohol it kinda sucks that it’s already falling apart.
