This exact style and brand is the only one I will ever own simply because it does what it’s made to do. iPhone’s can be expensive which is why I want my case to protect it without the phone getting shattered and needing to be replaced. I drop my phone like crazy, everywhere imaginable and nothing has happened to it yet…knock on wood. The only problem I have is the color choices, they are manly and the same colors year after year. I want pink and so do a lot of girls out there or at least something vibrant and fun, the company is missing out on business and could be profiting so much more than what they already are. Just give in and give the people what they want and you will benefit the rewards. Other brands are more popular simply because of that reason. Girls want something cute and so the cheap ones that you can customize or that break easily is what they lean towards even if it hurts their phone in the end. I’m telling you if you take any advice this would be it, watch the sells immediately skyrocket. The girls want pink and have been saying it for years.

The ribbing on the side of the case has rubbed my hand raw and put a permanent knot on it. I tried to remove the rib and smooth out the sides with no luck. I need a replacement case that does not injure my hand, please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Gold Standard I’ve been using the OtterBox defender since I owned my iPhone 6. To me, this is the strongest most robust drop proof case around. When I get a new phone I always open it on my desk and immediately put into an OtterBox defender. At one time I did use another brand of case, and dropped my phone in the middle of Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. The case broke and my phone got dinged and scratched. Since I starter using the defender, I can recall that I’ve really dropped my phone at least 4 to 5 times, I’m pretty careful. The case remained intact. Aside from a few scuffs on the rubber. No problem and no other damage. Now I’m comfortable that if I drop my phone it will survive unscathed. I love the product. Keep up the good work OtterBox.

I loved this case on my prior phone. This one makes my pocket sweat even when the iPhone 14 is in standby even with always on display off. Turning off 5g helps a negligible amount. If I take the case off or change to apples own MagSafe clear case it's way less heat. However without the added grip or texture.

Multilayered case keeps the phone safe from braking, from getting wet or getting dirty. I have a new phone and this level of protection was very much needed, because I broke the screen of my previous one. This is a solid case that does the job very well. It is very durable and practical for me because I use my phone for work a lot and this case helps a lot keep it safe.

But I can’t do a warranty for it when I try the iPhone 14, pro, and pro max don’t even show up!!

However, it took about a week and a half to get. I also purchased the screen protector. It has a good grip and I think it will protect the phone just fine. The only vulnerable spot on the phone are the 3 photo lenses. Nothing covering them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Case - Bad Warranty Service The product is good, the warranty process is not. Bought case direct from OtterBox - after 14 months the tab on the belt clip broke. Went to the website to file a claim and paid the $10 shipping charge. Got an email back asking for a photo of the damage, which I supplied right away. Got another email 5 days later telling me they needed more photos - photos of the entire case, removed from the phone. Supposedly to make sure I got the right size replacement part. Sounds like a lot of hoops to jump thru - especially considering I bought the case direct and they should know what size I needed. Tried twice more to correspond with them, but never got a reply. I guess I will just challenge the $10 charge to my credit card for the replacement part and buy my future cases from someone else. It's a shame since I have been using their cases for more than a decade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good protection case, poor holster I purchased this protector new from Amazon on March 28, 2023. Been using Otter Box Defenders since forever. This is the 1st one that has a junky belt clip that wants to let go when you just touch it. And it’s dropped the phone touch-free 3 times. Seriously disappointed and considering returning it. I managed to adjust the holster clip using a heat gun, but I wouldn’t recommend this “fix,” since you need a really good adjustable gun, and much patience. I went this route since I couldn’t find a comparable protector, and am addicted to the holster convenience. I do, however, still consider the holster to be poorly designed and manufactured. Wanted you as a company to know about the deficiency.

I haven’t used outterbox on a long time and was talked into it at AT&T, said they have changed for the better. Well they haven’t, the case itself has scratched the living hell out of my phone & the rubber casing is loose and does not fit snug. Complete waste of money & I will NEVER buy anything from outterbox again. You guys owe me a new phone!

Which, in all fairness, is not the case's fault, and the case itself is somewhat bent but largely unaffected, so... I'd give it more stars except for the following reason. This case absolutely holds heat like nothing I've ever had from Otterbox before. To give you an idea, leaving the phone to charge on a hands free phone mount in a car with no air conditioning, driving with windows down at a temp of 75 degrees leaves the phone in a state where it can only maintain battery level, it can't increase due to the temperature. Using a resource heavy app, on multiple occasions, has left the case nearly burning hot to the touch, and I'm fairly acclimated to heat. Think, quesadilla after being removed from the pan for about a minute level of hot.

When I upgrade, the old phone is always in EXCELLENT condition thanks to the superb protection Otterbox provides. Pricey but worth every penny! I also have NEVER cracked a screen although my phone has been dropped from the wing of airplanes which is at a height far above the tarmac. Super product!

This is a case for my iPhone that will stand up to the toughest beating (i.e. small kids)! The clip is nice to have while I work, and I use it some of the time, but for the most part that is tucked away and ready for when I need it. My phone has already been dropped by my toddler a handful of times, and it has come out completely unscathed. I definitely recommend Otter Box for hardcore protection.

Just like other reviews have stated the case is not user friendly to put on. You will struggle. It also feels the snap-on top cover that holds it all in will not protect the front of your phone Incase it falls. It is at the same level as the screen vs the defender that has some space from case to screen. For what it is worth I don’t think the whole case would protect from breaking your iPhones fall PERIOD. I need my phone out of this case . Otterbox how can I get a exchange for the defender case ?

I walked into work phone in holster walked through the door and it fell out of the holster in front of about 80 coworkers and the cameras cracked in front of everyone on the first day. I’ve used otterbox since iphone 5. Otterbox your holster doesn’t fit. Otterbox are you listening to your customers ?

You will need to add protective screen cover to phone and cameras if you want to maximize overall protection. It was moderately difficult to install phone in the case, but is most likely due to the tight tolerances and supreme fit.

There’s an air pocket in the back of the case, as if the material didn’t adhere to the back. It’s more annoying than anything else. Like I said the quality doesn’t seem to be the same.

I am a paramedic in a busy market, I work on vehicles and home improvement on my off time, and play hard at times. The only issue I have with Otterbox cases is the dwindling design choices for cases.

I have been using the Defender with holster for years with my different iPhones. This model was not well made. I purchased it twice and it is consistent. Disappointed that it easily falls out. My only concern is the first time I took it apart to clean it I used a paper towel and rubbing alcohol and the foam backing on the inside of the hard shell started to bubble and crumble off. After reading it is ok to clean the case with alcohol it kinda sucks that it’s already falling apart.

I accidentally dropped my phone on New Years Eve and the case protected my phone with zero damage to the screen or anything else. I highly recommend buying this phone case, as it is durable, light, and it easily slides in and out of your pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phone slips around India’s the case. The phone slips around inside the case. This is a clear miss by Otterbox. It makes creaking sounds as you use the phone and the phone shifts around inside the case. The rubber outer layer bulges in the underside while you use the phone too. I’m worried if I dropped this phone it would shatter and at the very least my phone finish will be rubbed off on all of the edges as others have mentioned.

Otter box doesn’t make that clear. I’ve had two broken clips and they are junk. Otter box use to be a dependable brand but not anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from iPhone Defender Pro 14 Max case This is my 3rd or 4th case now that I’ve bought from Otter Box. This one fits better than my last one which was for a iPhone 12. Which I felt never fit as tight as this one. I have always bought Defenders for my phones. The early ones fit tighter than the iPhone 12. Maybe I just got a one which didn’t fit as tight. I’ve dropped all my phones and they all have protected them without a problem. Shame they don’t include the screen protectors anymore.

For the next three I had to purchase an add-on separately, and not all of them install perfectly. Apart from this complaint, this Defender seems as sturdy as the others were. It seems a bit lighter and less clunky--I greatly appreciate this because the phone it protects is so large. The OtterBox installed easily and feels capable of standing up to years of use. A great product but (from this consumer's point of view) not perfect.

I have always been more than satisfied with the protection these cases have provided. That is why when I purchased my new IPhone 14 pro max, i also purchased a new otterbox for it. However, none of the side buttons work when it is in this case. As soon as I take it off, they work fine. I’m regretting wasting my money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still no magsafe? Come on Otterbox I'm having a hard time understanding why magsafe integration keeps being left out of the best case you make for any phone. I really want to be able to fully enjoy my phone and enjoy your product at the same time, but I'm having a hard time. I was very close to choosing a new case this time around. The case itself is fantastic, and if it brakes as always it's replaced. Can't complain about any part of the case, except that it inhibits me from using my phone to its full potential, and it's a shame. I know it's been mentioned in the questions that there are no plans to change this, but I'm telling you, you are losing customers. My wife opted to buy a different brand this time, and I guarantee she's not the only one. I know you have other cases that have it, so there is no excuse. Until you build a case as good as this one that allows me to fully use my phone, you will lose me as a customer too. Super disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phone case is great. Holster is okay. 14 pro max This phone case is great. I love the deep navy color with the glodish accents. The rubber part of the case is plenty strong. The only problem I have is that the clip holster clip is still weak. I was getting out of my car, my phone was clipped to my waist, the seat belt snagged the side of the phone and jerked it out of my waist band. Now the clip part that spins and the clip itself is loose. Overall it is still a great phone case. Holster needs an upgrade

The outer case has ridges and grooves to make grasping the phone much easier. The case fits the phone very well and offers good protection. There is a belt clip and holder so you can carry the phone on your belt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had high hopes :( I am really sad and disappointed. I had went all out and purchased the iPhone 14 pro max, and I thought going big with the case would be my best bet. So I invested in the defender series pro. I loved it, the color, how sturdy it felt. I’ve had the case for about three months. Nothing majorly wrong, that I was aware of. Screen seemed okay, case held up pretty okay. Except of the rubbery part bubbling up with air in the back, idk if it’s stretched out with time or what. I haven’t taken it off once. Recently though it has taken one tumble from around two feet off the ground. And that’s when I just thought I’d take a peak at it outside of the case, it’s completely shattered, glass shards left behind in the case. I was devastated, I swore nothing would have happened to it due to how thick the case is. I was very careful with it, as I had never bought a phone brand new. I even went all out on this case and still, it ended up destroyed. I wouldn’t recommend this model. Maybe there is better luck with something else. :((

Previous to that case I’d always purchased very streamline cases, some of which protected well, but none of which protected as well as the Defender. The bulkiness of otter cases cannot be denied, but my iPhone 11 stayed extremely well protected. And considering how long I had that phone (October 2019) the case lasted a good long time, too. I am happy to have this protection for my new iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case though not perfect. Otterbox provides a great case that protects my iPhone investment. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect. My iPhone recently fell out of my jacket pocket and hit the edge of a counter right at the edge of my iPhone screen and the edge of the Otterbox case. Sadly, there is now a "spider" crack at the edge of the screen (my first screen crack after many years of iPhone usage). Despite this event, I will continue to purchase Otterbox cases due to so many other incidents where my iPhone has dislodged from the belt holster or I simply dropped it.

I feel secure that if accidentally dropped, my precious cargo (iPhone 14 Pro Max) it is well protected. It maintains a sleek design that gives the phone an elegant look. My only critique is that it would be nice to be able to position the phone in either a horizontal / vertical position without having to hold it. Most people don’t clip their phone to their clothing any longer. There are other cases that offer this feature but not the defender.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could Be Better I ordered the camo Defender Series Pro case directly from the Otterbox website. The camo came from Otterbox separated from the hard plastic case. It is sealed at the seams, but it is not glued down in the middle of the case. (You can use your finger and move it in the middle). This case was advertised with a free 3 month subscription to On X with purchase. I reached out to Otterbox after receiving the case. They opened a service request ticket and got back with me the next day with an email stating that there should have been a bar code enclosed in the box to be able to download the On X app. No bar code was enclosed, and no follow up from Otterbox. I expected more all the way around from Otterbox. This may be possibly the last time i purchase a case from them. If you want the camo case for the free On X subscription, dont do it.
