The new case rubber tab that powers up the phone takes several attempts to get phone to power up. The phone will eventually get up but aggravating ?? I think this is a defective push button on the case rubber, but I can get it working after several attempts.

I brought my original through AT&T when I purchased my phone but when I filed my claim there was no record of my purchase so I brought another case. The rubber outter casing breaks down over time and falls apart. The product used to not have this issue. Hopefully since I brought this case there's better tracking for my next replacement. Only time will tell.

(and i have tried most of the major rivals). i wish the camera cutout was tailored specifically to the s22 ultra instead of using cutouts designed for previous years models with much different camera arrays. i worry that there's too much space around the cameras. the defender pro has saved my note 20 ultra so many times, including two awful drops onto an unforgiving uneven brick floor with an unsated appetite for electronic displays. thanks to otterbox i have sustained zero damage to date.

It keeps the phone convenient and well protected. The only drawback is the possibility of catching such a large phone (galaxy S22 ultra and pulling the case off your belt loop. I solved that problem by drilling a small hole in clip and attaching a short lanyard that attaches to my belt loop so that if it's pulled lose, it doesn't drop to the ground.

This would be 5 stars but out of the box the plastic snaps that hold the two pieces together aren't very tight. What I mean is there is flex enough that holding it certain ways will give a creaky sound. Since there is some play in the two pieces. The phone still feels secured but I don't like the plastic creaking sound. Kinda makes it feel cheap even though it's not. It's not a deal breaker but it bugs me. Maybe my snap pieces were not manufactured correct.

It's a staple, you need this case if you do any sort of labor intensive work. This case offers great protection & great grip. I only wish that they would shrink down the case in a separate lineup, that would allow for a one piece design for weekend carry. Keep the two piece design, too!

Only problem is finding a leather holster that fits the new Samsung S22 Ultra easily with the Otterbox Case installed. Do not like the plastic holster than comes with the Otterbox. Had no problem with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and 10+ fitting into a holster with the Ottterbox installed.

Overall, it looks and feels fantastic in my hand(s). I have no doubt it will protect my new phone from drops and especially my toddler! Absolutely worth the investment for this case. I used these cases on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and 8 phones and use the Ultra Defender case on my current Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. My phone have never been damaged when protected by Otter Box. A major benefit is the easy to grip case. Other cases are to slippery for my taste.

The clips do break pretty easy tho if the right amount of pressure. The only real complaint i have is it feels like the phone doesn't stay as snuggled when clipped into the belt clip. It doesn't have that tight loud click/pop sound like I'm use to. Maybe the mold these are made from isn't perfectly leaning the ear tab down enough for that snug secure snap in.

The defender pro has same quality and ruggedness as the defender with the added bonus of an antibacterial rubber case. (Case NOT your hands lol They last forever and even with the blue if it gets dirty or grease fingerprints on it you can easily remove from hard inner shell and wash with dishsoap or handsoap. Looks like new after. Definitely recommend buying for all of your devices. And buy directly from Otterbox. I got ripped off buying one on Amazon that was a cheap copy advertised as authentic. It wasnt. With theyre instant coupons and deals you will pay same or less. Plus I had free shipping that was estimated at 10 days and I received it in 3. Great company great service.

I will throw it away because it's past the date to return it to the retailer and I don't want a replacement. The case flexes on the edges and move while handling your phone. I had an Otterbox on my Samsung Note 9 and loved it and my fiancée has had this type on her S20 Ultra for 2 years and no issues. The plastic is too flimsy or there are not enough closures to hold the case tight. If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. I guess I am out of $70 now. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this case.

I had my note 10+ fall off my bike and slide on the road and dropped my phone every way possible the screen never cracked. (Knock on wood). Dropped my s22 a few times already, all good. The built in practically indestructible screen protector is gone. The so called glass protectors on the market now, have to be purchased by the gross. They are frequently cracking even with average use. Bring back the solid screen protector.

I really like the squared off design, not too round, has a sharper look than previous Otterbox cases I've owned. Then the problem...I noticed that its been scratching the edges of my phone, little nix around the edges, I clean it a lot to make sure no debris is in there but for whatever reason there is something in the inner plastic that's pressing on the edges causing these little damaged areas.. super disappointed as its an expensive phone and wanted to make sure it stays pristine. Would love to get support on this :/

I've used them for years but they really need to have built in Popsocket options again or a smooth plastic section to which a pop socket could stick to. The plastic inner case could have some thin padding inside to prevent scratches to the phone. If it wasn't for these two call outs, I'd give the case a 4 star rating.

It wasn't until after I finished mowing I realized my phone (Samsung S22 Ultra) was no long in its holder. So, at some point during the 3 plus hours mowing my phone fell out of the OtterBox phone clip and landed on the mower deck. When I realized where it was I just knew the phone was going to be trashed! But as you can see by the pictures it had very little damage! Thank you OtterBox for making a great product!

I originally ordered one from Amazon and it didn't fit, so I went to otterbox website to e sure I was getting a legit case, and ..nope. the camera opening is too small and doesn't clear the bottom camera, making the case unable to close. Otter box gone but my phone completely undamaged. The screen protector had a ding but no damage to the screen. So worth it!!!!

Dropped my phone and my screen got a 1/8 inch Crack on left side so I'm not sure about its protection. I've had to get a warranty replacement as my first case stretched out of shape. My second one has broken on the left bottom corner. Think I'm done with these for now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It put nicks and dings all over my frame of g s22 So at the time I bought a galaxy s22 ultra brand new paid in full, a top of line screen protector and, the defender series pro otter box case. The phone has never been taken out of the case except for when I cleaned the case other than that it stays in the case. So my problem with it is yes paired with a good screen protector u won't have to worry about breaking your screen when dropped, but you'll have to worry about the case dinging up and putting nic's in your frame on the s 22 ultra every time it is dropped. My 5 month old flagship phone is riddled in chips and dings all around the frame from the case. The phone only ever has been drop while it was in the case. I would take pics and show them in this rating but I'm writing this rating on said phone. Ps at the time I use to own a galaxy s7 with an otter box case that is of the same concept of the defender series pro case, and that case had be broken to the point were the only thing holding it together was the rubber outside of that case. That s7 still to this day does not have a single nic, chip, or scratch anywere on that phone and it is still in the same broken case 9yrs later. The only damage it had was the protective coat on the home button was worn away because the case was not supose to cover it for the finger print scanner. The s7 case was top tier protection compared to this one for the s22 ultra which is turing out to be mid tier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Quality Case I've been buying Otterbox cases for a couple decades. Every new phone upgrade got a new Otterbox case. This is another quality case. In the early years of curved phone edges, I noticed the Defender cases would push on the screen protector edges. Not with this case. (See related review of poor quality Otterbox screen protector.) This case is a great fit to the Samsung S22 Ultra. I like it and it matches the Otterbox quality I've come expect and appreciate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loose, Jiggles, scratches Having had a number of Defender series before, I went with this for my Ultra 22 when purchased last year. I religiously clean my screen, and as a nurse, do my best to keep my phone clean in general. This case is very loose fitting, letting my phone wiggle around in the case. I have noticed the edges scratched to heck and back. The case has caused me to lose two screen covers from the amount of wiggling back and forth in the case. Yes the case is safe for drops and falls, but the loose design is horrible and even caused gauging in the edges of the glass on the top, bottom, and sides, where ever the case is in contact with the edges of the phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible scratches along the sides of my phone First off, the case has protected my phone from many falls--it does its job in that aspect. I have had this case on my S22 Ultra since day one. I remove the case often and clean both the case and my device, but the case has hard plastic in contact with the sides of the phone, and this has caused many deep scratches/dents along the perimeter of the phone. I have used an Otterbox on all of my phones, including my S21 Ultra before this one, and no scratches like this occurred. I am sad to say I will be trying another case manufacturer after this experience.

I always get the defenders because I work in plants outside so I need all the protection I can get. I've had this particular case on my s22 ultra for the last 6 months or so and it has worked wonders. I've dropped different phones from ladders, lap, car doors, and even a manlift at about 25' and no busted screens or broken phones and at 25'+ that says something. Anyway the reason for only 4 stars is the dust and dirt that get in the sides and behind the case. The case is not that easy to get off to clean but all that dirt etc have scratched the sides, back, and front edge of my phone. So great case BUT if you don't clean it every day then it'll get scratches from case.

I just took a defender case off a 3 year old phone that was dropped hundreds of times and the phone didn't have a single scratch. This is a case I trust with my expensive phone.

I have dropped my galaxy s22 ultra several times with this case on, not the slightest crack anywhere. May have scratches up the edges a little bit, but that's all. plus I love that the clip comes with a built in stand to prop my phone for videos.

While on my second-story roof I leaned over to pick up a tool my phone slid out of my jacket pocket and sailed off the roof, smacking into the windshield of my car and sending the case and belt holster flying in separate directions. Expecting both a shattered phone and a cracked windshield I was shocked to find that not only was my windshield undamaged due to the slight give of the case material but my phone was also completely find. No cracks, no dents, no damage AT ALL. The case and holster are still both in perfect condition. While I hope to never be in another position to test an Otterbox Defender in this manner, it certainly did it's job this time! Thanks Otterbox! My phone, and wallet, thank you!

Kept falling out of the holster till finally today my screen cracked. Only had it for less than six months. Seems the cases went bad about the time they stopped including screen protectors. Oh well, will have to find something else. I can't carry my phone in my pocket(it's too big) and the old ones did not have the holster issue.

Had my screen protector replaced and noticed that both side of the phone were all scratched up noting that both the phone and case were brand new from the beginning from Verizon. My Otterbox case for my S10+ was better than this and protected my phone for 2 years with no scratches to the phone. Never buying again.

Now it randomly falls out of the clip and hits the ground, or the clip on the clip for the phone hangs open and the whole thing falls. This has happened numerous times. It has protected my phone ok for the most part, but am now having to replace my screen protector yet again due to it cracking, atleast I hope it's just the protector that cracked. For the money you charge for these cases, they should be designed better. This will be the last OtterBox I purchase unless changes are made. Disappointed to say the least, and costing me money. Had the same issue years ago with these products and left them for a while, but decided to try them again..... Oops

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great if you're using just the case the case is great, nothing is wrong with it so far after many drops and frequently opening and closing the charge port cover. but even otterbox's own screen protector hits up against the case's edges, leaving unsightly bubbles around the entire rim of the screen protector. i'd also really appreciate it if they kept up with the times and added some sort of support for magnetic phone mounts given the size of the case. preferably an integrated plate, but i'd be happy with a recessed mounting area molded into the outside of the hard case so i can put my own on and the rubber is still flat (yes, i can still feel it under there). ended up just putting it on the outside, but now the rubber backing's negated entirely for grip and it slides off surfaces easily, and fast. other than that, always ran defender cases and only broke a screen once (thanks curved screen bs)

The blue outer cover didn't fit well after a few months. It was stretched out and kept falling off. I wouldn't buy another case of this style again.

This allows the phone to shift up and down, all the paint has worn off of the edges of the phone. You can see the worn off paint on the inside of the case.

I carry my phone in my back pocket. Invarabily the button gets depressed a bad things happen. I have used Otter Box for years on many phones and have always been happy with them. And it was a no-brainer getting these for our new phones. We especially love the raised edges to protect the screen. My only request would be please please please have more color choices for the Defender cases! Only having 3 colors to choose from stinks. Green would be awesome! ! Or tan. My husband would really love a dark navy blue like some of your other case styles have. Something other than the current muted colors and black. We Samsung owners should have more choices like the Apple owners do. Just because we like your sturdiest cases doesn't mean we want boring colors ;

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The usual Defender strength. H Purple lacks punch I purchased the new Happy Purple for the S22 Ultra, red. The color is a bit blah compared to the phone. A deeper Royal Purple or a vibrant Red would be a better choice for this lovely phone. The case has the usual bullet-proof protection for the phone and screen. The clip cover could also use a color choice other than black. Color choices are important. But, it's staying on my phone for the duration. Maybe next time?

Straight out of the box, this case flexes at the power/volume rockers. It does this so extremely that it turns the screen on/off. I haven’t been able to use it. I’ve had a lot of problems with Lifeproof, but not Otterbox. You lost a customer. Please save your money, and it’s supposed to protect a $2000 phone? Maybe it’s a lemon, but I’m not going to risk it. I’d really like a refund. Zero stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Insurance Policy for S22 Ultra The S22 Ultra is an amazing but very big phone, a little scary for an active person who has been known to drop her phones more than once. This case is so well engineered and looks really good (I have Fort Blue. It has already saved my phone more than once. The screen cover much more useful than I had expected: I clip it onto my jeans and keep my phone with me all the time. It is really easy to pop the phone in and out intentionally, and really hard to do it accidentally! Addressing things I've read: The stylus is still perfectly accessible. The cover protecting the charging port is a bit too springy, I use 2 hands, one to plug in the cord and one to hold the cover back, but then it's fine. Some reviewers had speculated that the case would pick up lint and dust -- mine has stayed clean, and the matte finish gives you a good grip on the phone. While I did invest in a good screen protector, I do not see the need for a rear camera protector unless you are in the most rugged of environments...this case keeps it recessed quite far so it is unlikely to be damaged when dropped. There is nothing petite about the phone, and this case adds to it in size and weight. But you know that already if you buy the phone, and the whole point is to keep this big, expensive piece of electronics in good shape while living your life. I am very pleased with my choice. This is my second Otterbox'ed phone, and the first lived a long and healthy life, through hikes and kayaks and running and (yes) dropping, with the help of its case. I am optimistic for this phone too!

I love the feel, the protection of the cameras and screen is great, and the buttons feel good. The cover for the charger and access to the stylus are everything I want out of a case. I've yet to drop it, but I love how sturdy it feels and the feel of the grip. I got blue and the color is amazing in person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protection level is down. Well-built and has strong protection, but not as good as the Ultra Defender that we purchased for the Note9 a few years back. The internal protection does not seem as good, the shock absorbing material was thicker in the older model.

It's already protected my phone from and screen-first drop into a rocky surface and it came out unscathed besides a little dirt on the rubber. Just bought a case for my S20 Ultra before trading it in for the S22 and its way better than the last one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from S22Ultra Case works ok, but doesn't protect the side buttons enough to keep them from accidently getting pushed in your pocket, so the phone is constantly turned off or trying to download a new OS by pushing and holding all the buttons while it's in your pocket. not really useful to discover the phone has been off for who knows how long when you pull it out of your pocket. Previous Otterbox for other phones had this feature. Going to have to look for another case.

Had so much success with the Defender Plus on my last two Galaxy phones that when I decided to purchase a new phone in 2022, I went ahead and ordered my case the same day the new Galaxy series was officially released. I had my case in hand when my new phone arrived. How's that for confidence in a product line?

Very well built & heavy duty, a bit on the expensive side but money well spent if it is needed. Scary difficult to mount the S22 in the Otterbox, very tight fit, scared to break the S22 getting it seated.

I have a defender pro on my s20 ultra and it worked fine with my charger not sure what they changed but that's the only downside so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok case. Big. I bought this case thinking it had a port cover for the S-pen. It does not. It would help if the case description and pictures were more descriptive and less hyperbole. Anyone who has owned a Note series phone knows how the S-pen is prone to getting stuck from dust/grit. It definitely makes the phone larger. Will probably look for a different case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case! I purchased this case when I pre-ordered my new phone. It arrived super early and has worked wonderfully since installing the case on my phone. The raised edges protect the screen and still allows for access the the sPen. It does take some getting used to when pulling the sPen out due to the top of the case being so close to the sPen, but it works. I wouldn't trust and other case to provide such a level of protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Good Makes phones Heavier, I found it made the S22Ultra INCREDIBLY HEAVY and UNBEARABLE. I bought this same one for my S21Ultra which also made it heavier and no longer use it. I've always loved the Otterbox defender series, but because new Galaxy phones have gotten heavier the Defender Series cases make the phone even heavier than they already are. Best cases but not for the new Galaxy phones that's for sure

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fort Blue Pictures Misleading This is my third defender series throughout the years as I like the fit/feel and external clip. Black was out of stock so I tried the Fort Blue. The picture showing the back of the S22ultra shows the fort blue with a black border around camera cutouts. This is actually very white. The inside picture shows a muted grey against blue but on the phone it's closer to a white and looks a bit funny. I am not a fan of this color combo. Case is great otherwise and for my future phone I'll stick with the defender series but probably in black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protects my phones I had Otterbox with my Note 4 and it survived lots of drops off a ladder to a concrete floor. I had the phone for 5 years. My Note 9 has survived many drops and now I have a S22 Ultra and my 9 and ultra have Otterbox Pro cases. The shipping was fast.

Not sure why Otterbox did away with it. The box and clip is a must have is you work in any industry where you have to have your phone but must also have access to utilize your hands. This is my husbands go to product on any and everyone of his phones. I cannot tell you how many we have purchased. The warranty is pretty good. Just sometimes is a challege to process with the letters and numbers getting smaller. ***Otterbox does not replace your phone if it gets broken. That is why I dont buy it*

Wish that Otterbox would get MORE COLORS for the Samsung line. I've only had Samsung and have never been able to any other colors.

Through quite a number of drops, the only time I ever had any "damage" was when the phone landed face down on the edge of a rock, which broke the Zagg glass protector ( screen was fine underneath. The minute I order a new phone, I immediately order a defender case, as they have never let me down.
