Rated 5 out of 5 by from The week link with my Otter box The phone case itself it awesome and has saved my phone from being dropped many times. The holster however seems to break a little too easy. I have broken several, usually when I sit down the grip on the corner breaks off. The last one I had less than a week and had to squeeze through a doorway and the hanger caught on the door frame and broke off. I am a little rough on things but as durable as the case is I would like to find a better way to keep the phone on my hip.

I bought two off brands and broke them in three months. I now have a otter box brand and have snagged it daily with no problems.

However, otterbox defender did indeed protect my phone in a few drops, but the holster, obviously is prone to breakage.

Normally a holster outlasts the phone, now you are lucky to get a year out of a holster. The fit is perfect but the quality is lacking. I work in an office so I don't put my holster through rough use. This one breaks, I'm moving on to a different brand.

The hinge is the weak spot otherwise it works just fine. I do have to position it just right on my belt or it digs into my side. It does help protect my phone. I am glad you can buy the holster by itself rather than having to buy a complete case and holster.

I have had this combo on the pasr 3 or 4 phones and it's the only way to carry. What I don't understand is why this last one breaks so easily. My other phone's belt clips have ssurvived many falls to the floor, but I am on my third clip now and am unhappy about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product as a whole Over the years I have had a otter box on every smart phone I have owned, this is my second clip on my s7, I'm not sure what's changed but in the last few cases they seem cheaper the rubber doesn't fit as well and as long as the previous versions and the plastic seems to break easier on the clips. So...in sumarry it's the best thing I found for protection currently but they fall short of how durable they once were.

I believe there to be a design or material flaw with the product. The only reason I have had to replace the holster is occasionally I may drop my holster and if it lands on a corner just right it will break the corner piece off. Given this situation, I still recommend the Otter Box Defender Holster for S7. It is the best product I have found for my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricy, but worth it Got a new phone and wanted to protect it. I have had other brands on my previous phone and they did a good job, but my son suggested this one. I ordered it and was very pleased with the fit on the phone and the quality of material used. Being my normal clutz self, I have already dropped the phone a time or two on a concrete floor and the otter box did its job and shows no marks... I would highly recommend it.

I bought my Otter Box for My Samsung 3 and 4 years later sold the phone and otter box simply because the Otter box protected that phone and it looked like a brand new phone. I now have a s7 and have it protected with an Otter Box and I'm confident that when I decide to sell it the phone will be like new.

I have broken a couple of holsters but my phones have been undamaged. I am a 200 + pound guy and fell on a curb. The plastic parts of the case had some gouges in it but the phone was spared any damage.

That way, the user could see who called without having to disconnect the phone from the holster. Since the Otterbox case is already on the phone, it is protected without the screen facing in. Just my thoughts. I truly LOVE the Otterbox Defender case protection. Well worth the $$.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More durable than any other holster I've tried I bought this holster to replace an identical one that, after repeated assaults, I finally managed to break. First, I'd like to note that the new holster fit identically to the one it replaced, meaning it is molded to close tolerances. As to durability, on several occasions I snagged the holster on a chair arm or other waist-level obstacle, pulling on the belt clip with considerable force. With other holsters I've owned, each snag was enough to break the clip off. With the OtterBox holster, the belt clip withstood the stress. As noted, it finally broke, but I chalk that up to user error vs. product deficiency. In my book, the holster held up better than I could have expected, which is why I replaced it with the same thing.

The holster has its own problems the bottom corner hooks will break off When the holster is clipped to your belt its fine while the phone is in it, but if you take the phone out, it can hook on the shoulder belt in your car thats how mine broke. maybe a slot would be better. the clip has the same problem, i have had at least 3 clips break at various times. i am a retired construction worker going up and down ladders crawing in ceilings its bound to happen. as a metal worker i even concidered making my own out of aluminum. have you concidered tuff stuff plastic that stuff is indestructable. if you never have seen it check it out on ebay as lot 28 vintage 1971mattel tuff stuff plastic letter blocks. all in all i would still buy your products I am looking at a S8 also with a defener case.

I was told no holsters are available for my S7 Active. BUT, Otterbox would send a complete Defender Series Otterbox for my S7 Active. The holster is easy to use and holds my phone very securely. The only weakness to the entire product is the holster clip. It is so easy to catch on stuff when you sit down. It tends to snap off if you aren't careful while sitting down. As long as you are careful enough not to get it snagged. It will last for a very long time and maintain its ability to securely hold your phone.

But I'm on about my 6th or 7th. Have spent more replacing the holster than I did the original purchase. I still recommend it though as I have yet to find a better option. But I do keep looking.

If you do a lot of work that requires you to set on the floor/ground, and do a lot of bending over with the holster towards the ground (such as flooring or trim work), be ready to replace the holster every so often; the corners that wrap around the phone can get broken fairly easily.

I normally put my phone on the inside pocket of my turnout gear during a run. I know my Otter Box will protect it. It's been through multiple house fires and even while I laid in a creek full of water mixed with diesel fuel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good case except for the belt clip I have owned several of these cases over the last five years and have never had an issue with the performance of the case itself or the protective part that covers the phone. However, the weak point in every case I have ever had has been the belt clip. This has been the one part that has broken one very case I have ever owned. I don't even use it on a daily basis either and do not subject it to severe abuse. It is just simply the weak point in these cases. Perhaps in any case that employs a belt clip. I'm not sure what can be done to improve this but it needs to be looked at. In the past they company has sent me free replacements but this time I just bought them myself.

I often wear skirts to work that have no pockets, so I have no where to keep my phone. With this holster, the clip held the phone in place no matter where I was carrying it. I dropped my phone on the concrete in a parking lit and unfortunately, the edge got just right and snapped off. I instantly ordered a replacement as there is no way I can go back to not having one. I needed the holster replaced and the rubber sleeve (it is tearing by the camera lens that goes over the case. Unfortunately the website made it look like the defender case came with the rubber sleeve. It was my fault but now I have a defender case that I dont need and a rubber sleeve falling apart still. Any chance you can send me the sleeve? Just thought I'd ask. Love the holster. Always have one for riding my motorcycle. They do tend to break when you snag them on a seatbelts in the car.

It protected my phone, but at the cost of the holster: a corner of the holster snapped off. I was able to get onto the Otterbox website and order a replacement for an excellent price! I was further pleased when it arrived in only three days.

OtterBox would have exchanged it under warranty but I didn't think that was fair as I was responsible. I have used the warranty in the past and they mean what they say with "Lifetime Warranty". When the clear plastic protector and the belt holder broke I contacted Otter and got a free replacement. The price just got better. Now its the second time one of the ears on the belt holder broke (both without dropping or hard use). I could not get a free replacement. Now the price got worse. If the quality of the plastic in the phone holder that hooks onto the belt is not a good quality then this investment goes down in value.

My phone still looked like it came out of the box so I went back to you and found the cover. I didn't realize it came without the silicone glove and when I called customer service noooo problemo they stood by their product to make sure I was a satisfied customer . Thank you, I am satisfied!
