I like the otter box defender but now I can’t used it for the camera because the otter case cover gets scratched from just putting it down and picking it up can I get a new back cover so I can use otter box again? Bad design for camera eye cover to easy to scratch! Can you help me out?

It’s almost indestructible…
This is my second defender iPhone Case. The first case lasted over 3 years until I broke the belt clip by removing it from my belt while charging my phone and the clip was destroyed by a passing construction front loader.
Love my defender case so much I bought a new one and ‘gifted’ the old case to the child of a friend.
Fabulous indestructible iPhone case…just be careful where you place your belt clip!

Bad upgrade to case
Took forever to get my phone to slide into the case. Port overs for on/off switch and battery charger are super hard to open and close -- most likely will have to cut them off. Won't be buying Otter again.

I have owned several otterbox cases over the years, this one is finnaly what i want allowing me to use a glass screen protector not those plastic ones where you always loose screen sensitivity, i have 2 other cases for my iphone but i do not feel the need to switch cases all the time now.

I’ve only had this less than ONE WEEK. The color is faded. It doesn’t have the screen protector, and does not feel as safe/protected as my last Defender. I had my last one for over 5 years! It was great! This one, I’m a little worried about.

Quality iPhone XS case
Ordered the Defender case before receiving the iPhone. When phone arrived, I immediately opened up the box and installed it into the case. Very pleased that it fit so neatly. Entire screen is viewable and very bright! Precisely fitting - not loose and not tight- great! Lake blue seems a nice subtle color. Couldn’t be happier with a case for this new iPhone!

Protection but adds bulk
I was pleased with the Otter box protection surrounding my iPhone 7. It preserved functionality and trade-in value. The iPhone X is larger, and so is the surrounding Otter box, which I bought to replace a compact but less protective Otter cover. The cushion from the Defender series offers more protection, a better grip and peace of mind.

I had an OtterBox for my last iPhone but it didn’t fit my new iPhone - so I went without one for almost a year. This one is much better than having a naked phone but not as rubbery as my last one which I liked better. It was easier to grip and didn’t slide around.

Got the defender for my iphone x since my toddler uses it. It gets dropped, thrown, etc but im not worried since the defender is wrapped around it so well! The grip is good and the elevated portion around the screen keeps her fingers off the screen when shes holding it. Planning to get defender for all our other devices now.

The Defender Case for the iPhone X is exactly what I expected. A sturdy, protective, and attractive case. I have had an Otter Box Defender case on every phone I’ve had for 10 years. They have never let me down. I work on an ambulance so my phones get dropped, dirty, stepped on, and still look brand new when the case comes off. Yes it’s bulky compared to the phone itself but I buy phones for the features, not the looks and size. Well done Otter Box. I did put a glass screen protector over the phone screen for extra protection.

I purchased this item on November 3 so I can how is my new iPhone X I purchased two of them for both of my phones I am about a week and a half in and the case is falling apart I believe the glue that was used on the plastic to cover the Apple logo poorly designed once that came off so did the rest of the case started to stretch and not hold the phone properly I also purchased their screen protector which was horrible but at least stayed went and replaced it for me I would recommend you guys wait until The trial period is over and they can I guess make him a little bit better than they are remember they tried to push them out as quick as they can hope this comment really helps

Still great, but not as great as in the past
I have used iPhones since the iPhone 4 (when iPhone first became available on my carrier's network). Each has "worn" an OtterBox Defender series case, and I have traded in each in "like new" condition. I have appreciated OtterBox's warranty throughout my relationship with the company. This case follows in that same great tradition, except in 1 respect: it has no integrated screen protector.
Sure, as OtterBox has stated in reply to other reviews, I can purchase a screen protector for my phone that adheres to the glass - and I have. But when purchasing a Defender series case, I have the sense that I ought not have to pay an additional sum for an adhesive screen protector.

I carry it on my belt and find it a little awkward to get it snapped in, especially when wearing a coat. Other than that, it is great.

I bought this for my iPhone X to protect it. I have owned other Otter cases for previous iPhones and liked them for the protection they offered. I only had to replace a belt clip once when the clip broke off. Warranty replacement was easy on their web site, they do charge you ti ship replacement to you.

This is the second defender case I have.
The old one was for my iPhone 6 and now I changed after 2,5year because of the new iPhone X.
My old iPhone looks like new and the case has secured it so much, I don’t remember how many time it felt down and never had any damages on it.

First Otterbox, So Far, So Good
First time using a screenless case, but the iphone x is supposed to handle a quick dip in shallow water, so looked for shock, dirt and dust protection. I've only been using the case for a couple weeks, so I can't really speak to performance. But the fit is right and seems to be sturdy. I'm a little concerned that the camera lens isn't enclosed, but it is well recessed. Perhaps a screen would be nice for the speakers. Time will tell, but I'm liking it more each day.

Switched from AT&T to Verizon as I work for VZ now. As a consequence, upgraded us all to iPhones. Of course, I've never had an iPhone without an Otterbox, so this was a no brainer. If I had any complaints, not enough color choices for the XS model. Will never have an iPhone without an Otter and you can take that to the bank!

I've been a returning customer to the Otterbox Defender series for several years now because it just works. I tend to drop my phone A LOT (once month maybe) and even if my phone goes sailing across the room or down onto a pile of gravel, my phone has always been protected. This is my first time with an iPhone X/Xs case though, so I'm a little weary not having a built-in screen protector. I'm hoping that the Alpha Glass screen protector will be just as effective. We shall see! So far, so good!

Yes, I know the iPhone X is beautiful and amazing to look at but how could you leave it unprotected. This case fits it like a glove and takes nothing away from the amazing screen. I have owned an Otterbox for every IPhone that I’ve ever owned ( IPhone 4 thru iPhone 7plus) and never had problem with fit or protection. I believe being nervous about dropping a phone takes the fun out of having the phone. This case is perfect. Going from a Plus to the "X" I knew I could adjust to a bulkier case. Totally worth it. I’m an avid Otterbox user and love the Defender Case, I also have a Commuter case both for iPhone X. I had to leave off a star however because the belt clip for the Defender seems to be lighter weight than previous designs. The clip on the Defender case I had for my iPhone 5 would lock into place, locking into my belt or pants pocket. The case for my iPhone X doesn’t feel nearly as secure and isn’t as sturdy, it feels like if I caught it on something it would snap off and my phone would be lost.
Other than the holster, I absolutely love the slimmer design of the Defender case itself, more rounded edges, thinner, and less “sticky” feeling. When I take my phone out of my pocket it doesn’t turn my pocket inside out.

Didn’t take the X out of the box til I got my defender and the alpha glass.
When I did I had to take my 6plus out of it’s defender for the first time since I got that phone and the front of the phone was just as it was when I bought it. The back had a few tiny scratches on the “Apple”.
Not so sure of the alpha glass on the X. Does not completely cover the front. Tiny gap between the defender case and glass. I see that I will have to remove the case and clean once in a while.

The iPhone X case is so nice and since it has no home button the screen is left exposed and looks really cool. I’ve dropped it about a hundred times and every time I pick it up it’s perfectly fine. Probably one of the coolest and best cases out there.

Good sturdy case but it seems that you cannot charge the phone on wireless charger with case on. The case is hard to remove so makes it awkward for this type of charging.

The dust protection feature only refers only to the charging ports not the microphone and speaker openings. Clogging these ports make having a conversation difficult without earphones.

Fantastic investment

Slipping in quality
The holster for the iPhone 10 is very flimsy. Although I have only had the case for 2 weeks and it has not broken yet, but I expect that it will. My challenge to you is to compare the iPhone 3 holster (which I still have) to the iPhone 10 holster. You can easily feel the difference in the quality.

Otter box has done it again with a stylish sturdy protective case for the  iphone X. The difference in user technique has left the original new-style glass without a cover which I can not presently comment on regarding smudge and scratch marks because I have not had it long enough to assess how the iphone’s owns glass withstands any damage itself.

My third Defender in 6+ years
I got my first Defender case (iPhone 3GS) over 6 years ago and have purchased one for each of my subsequent iPhones (5s and recently purchased X). Not only have they protected my phones when accidentally dropped (have NOT yet dropped the X) but having the holster and clip has been a super plus for clipping the iPhone onto my waistbands, or even a backpack/purse strap, if necessary. I am a small person with most of my clothes also having small pockets; consequently the holster and clip required features for me.

I have bought this case for my other iPhones in the past and I loved them. The only thing I'm a little Leary of is it being screen less, which means it doesn't have the plastic piece to cover the screen. I do like though that the belt clip comes with this one and this makes it great to use at work

Love the protection, but gets discolored real quic
I bought the gray / blue case on March 17. I have owed almost every defender case through the years. They have protected my iPhone through so many drops I don’t think I could ever use a different case. My only problem with this years case is two things. First problem is I’ve take the phone out 3 times and the rubber outside is already loose (I understand that through time this will happen but it seems to of happened faster this year). Secondly I love the gray and usually is my color of choice. Again though this year from just putting the phone in/out of my pocket there is now a few red fade marks and a lot of wear and tear marks. I’ve never dropped this phone (yet) so it’s all from putting it in your pockets. But is that’s the price of owning this color and knowing I have the ultimate protection I’ll live with it. Again this case is awesome and worth the price, and if you get a darker color I bet you won’t notice the wear and tear. Hands down the best case for your iPhone X.

It has the same defending qualities as the previous Defender Case that i owned except NO screen protector. I am not Happy that it DOES NOT include a screen protector. The screen protector is what kept my phone looking like new and keeping the screen intact.

I have had OtterBox for all of my iPhones and they have never disappointed me. With the iPhone X I wanted to make sure it was protected but was concerned about getting a good privacy screen protector. I found a tempered glass one and was worried like in the past the cases might make the screen protector bubble. Luckily that was not the case and both went together perfectly resulting in a well protected phone! As usual I stand by OtterBox and their cases and the defender series didn't disappoint! I tried a new color and love it!

Still the BEST protection for your phone
The Main Reason I bought this phone is for drop protection - for that I would give 5 stars. This is my 3rd phone that I have protected with a "defender" case. I work 12 hour shifts at a power plant where we work in all kinds of weather all year round. I have dropped my phone numerous times reasonable heights. My phone has never been damaged at all and the case has always held up and never had to be replaced. Again - 5 STARS for that.
The only thing that I wish they could make more user friendly on this iPhone x case is the access to / or the operation of the vibration switch on the upper left hand side of the phone. I use this feature often and it requires two hands, and the switch is in under the cover pretty far- so if you have big fingers, good luck getting in there to move that switch.
I also think the recharge port cover is a bit of a pain to use when you want to charge your phone - but I think that is the case with almost any phone cover you buy that has a cover over it anyways.
But bottom line is I am very happy with this case - especially for what I wanted it to do for me.
I would buy this case again and recommend it to everyone who wants the best drop protection for their phone!

Very solid - best phone case I’ve ever owned
I recently purchased an iPhone X and wanted to be sure that my investment was well protected. After considerable research and upon the recommendation of friends who had OtterBox cases on their phones, I decided on the Defender. I’ve had the case for about a week and am quite happy with it. It’s very solid - I’m confident that my phone is protected. It adds a lot of size to the phone - I see that as the trade off for the protection provided - but I have adapted to that pretty quickly. It still fits in the pockets where I kept my old phone. I was able to use it with my dock, which was a nice surprise since the lightning port is recessed quite a ways. However, I purchased a wireless charging pad which works flawlessly with the OtterBox case. I’m happy with my investment.

My second defender case. Less brick like than previous yet still retaining the feel that my phone is safe if accidentally dropped whilst still allowing access to all that is important on my phone. The body offers good grip and it looks relatively stylish for what is mainly protection.

I love that this case offers so much protection without being overly bulky. I was hesitant about the lack of a screen cover, however I found that a glass one works fine and it doesn't bubble up like the defenders with the previous versions of the defender have. I bought this a month ago, and I love it. I was reluctant at first because (like all Otter Box iPhone X cases) it doesn't have a built-in screen shield, as such a feature would inhibit the performance of the iPhone X Face ID. But I was happy with my previous 3 defender cases for my iPhone 4S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 7, so I knew it had to be good. And it is! For me its all about protecting my iPhone from drops on the pavement, and the Defender is always the best for that. The flaps covering the ports are easy to use, and they seem relatively sturdy. Still the best case for the money.

I’ve always had the otter box since the iPhone 3GS I work in construction. I also live on the second floor of my building. One day I had to much stuff in my hands and dropped my phone from the second floor, not even a scratch. I am al little disappointed there’s no screen protector on this new defender however. I don’t understand that decision, these things aren’t cheap an neither is a new screen especially the iPhone X.

Love the screen less feature
I bought the Alpha glass and Defender case and it is great combo. The old plastic cover would get marked and scarred over time. This seems to be the answer for me. Already know the case will protect your phone but the combo of the glass is case is great. Now if we could just get Apple to make the Iphone waterproof we would have the total package.

I’ve always used otter boxes with my IPhones. I used the water proof one with my iPhone 5, and have used the defender cases since the iPhone 6 came out. I put my iPhone 6 through heck and back and it has always kept my phone in tact. With my iPhone 6 I always popped off the screen protector from the case because I didn’t like the gap, so having a screen less case is actually perfect. It works well and doesn’t negatively affect the iPhone X experience. Good quality case, as always in my opinion. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Bought this for my iPhone X. Case fits well. But it doesn’t fit in the clip snug enough. One bump and it falls out the clip. It’s the defender series. I have always bought defender and had this problem once before. That was with the 6 plus.

I bought this a few weeks ago. Not what I expected for the otter box defender. The inner case was ok/satisfactory, but could be improved upon. The outer case needs to be thicker for more protection like the older models. Until I find something else that protects my phone better than the otter box defender I’ll have to keep buying this and hope that it protects my phone adequately. Disappointed in the decline of the quality of this product.

The only caveat is the covering over the phone charge input is
difficult to close.
I have a certain feeling of incomplete protection because there is no
glass protection. I am contemplating buying the additional glass component

Great Case with Minor Flaws
I originally bought the Symmetry Case for my iPhone X. I had it for my 7 Plus but I didn’t feel like it was protective enough for my new phone.
I bought the Defender about a month later and it’s definitely a great case. It doesn’t make the phone feel super bulky. If you’re coming from a 6 or 7 plus, you may even prefer this case because it makes the phone feel less dangerously small. It still fits in my pockets though!
I only have two complaints.
1) The charger port cover is SO hard to get out. For the first two weeks I had to use my charger to pry it out. It did loosen but it can still be difficult at times. It’s not like the 7 Plus defender where it has a little cut out for your finger. The ringer on/off switch is easy to open though!
2) The case creaks like an old wooden floor. I was hoping this wouldn’t happen because it’s a gross sound/feeling, but it’s not TOO bad. Just kind of irritating. I guess that’s what happens when you put two pieces of hard plastic together!
Overall, it is a very good case and super protective. Just have to take it off occasionally to clean because it isn’t dust proof. I don’t want to ruin my phone with dust!

I love this Defender series for the iPhone X. I use the Defender series for every phone I have ever had. This is one is perfect for the X and, since the phone is smaller than the Plus series, the Defender case is made to fit very well in the holster and in your hand. I was hit by a car on the highway doing 65. Cellphone was found on the highway over 100’ from the accident with 0 damage. I’m ok after months of healing. But the point is the otterbox did its job. I love this case

Love my Otterbox
I ordered this case before purchasing my new iPhone and I have to say I absolutely love it. The colors were a little bit different from what I expected - I thought the designs would be peach colored but instead they are a light pink, but regardless it is a solid case all around.
This case protects my phone from bumps and scratches and I can easily clip it and remove from my belt holster as well.
I also have to say I love the “screen less edition” because I prefers to put a shatterproof glass screen protector on my phone rather than rely on a plastic one. I just popped one on and then put on the case.
The only negative I’ve found so far is that the back of the case is smooth and a little slippery, but the sides are grippy and it makes it easier to get in and out of my pocket. Also - if you wear dark denim jeans, the color does transfer to it from rubbing. I haven’t found a way to remove the discoloration but even so, this case is more than worth it. 5 stars. Would purchase again.

I am a fan of Otterbox cases - especially when travelling and exploring outdoors. They are robust and have saved my iPhones from damage on many occasions. However, with the iPhone X, there is no screen protector - which in itself is not a great problem, but when the phone is not in the holder, it can switch on from contact with the screen - this has resulted in false calls from my phone. I think there needs to be some way of ensuring the phone remains off when it is not in the holder. My Apple iPhone case automatically switches the iPhone X off, when the cover is closed. It is still good as a protective case - but in this one respect could be better.

This new one I bought is great but the only drawback is it is screenless where as my others had built in screens. I have use an otter box on all my iPhones since the 4! Have always had good luck I think this one could have had a screen cover live all the others did that’s the down fall I hope it gets a redesign that adds a screen protector then it would be a perfect case

I bought the purple nebula color and love this defender cover!! Love, love, love it and Otter Box! The purple color is gorgeous and very elegant. I wish they would come out with a hot pink azalea or papaya color in this I phone 10 defender case! I will always buy Otterbox defender cases! Nothing better!

Absorbing the Falls
I bought this specific otter box because I had the slender otter box, but when I dropped my iPhone X the tempered glass shattered. So I went ahead and went back to the defender. So far I am pleased. It has taken two hard falls and survived. It’s a lot cuter in person than it is online. It’s not as chunky as I expected either. The only reason I’m not giving it 5/5 stars is because since it’s rubber it’s absorbing the color of my jeans and getting a little darker in color. Although I like that it’s rubber. Makes it easier to hold. Just wish it wouldn’t turn a bluefish tint.

This is one of many otter box defender series cases my family owns. I don’t understand how anyone could have electronics with children and not own one. Our electronics have been dropped multiple times and are still fine. Otter box Rocks!!

Defender for iPhone X
I purchased this item as soon as I ordered my iPhone X - I have used Defender series cases for all my previous iPhones (4S and 6+) - they all "worked" and I never experienced any damage as a result of having phones in them. My one concern with this case is that the screen is "exposed" (no cover of any kind). I can somewhat understand because of the screen configuration of the iPhone X not having a protective cover, however, only time will tell if this is a real issue or not. I just received my iPhone X yesterday and immediately loaded it into the case before activating it.

I love OtterBox. Your cases are the only ones I use. Prefer the defender case over any other including life proof cases. But, I wish the iPhoneX defender case came included with a screen protector.

Amazing case as always, with one flaw.
This is the second otterbox I bough for my iPhone X. They work amazing and feel great. However the Camo starts scratching off super fast. Within a month or two large white spots will cover the rear of the case. Only seems to affect iPhone X cases.

Great protection , non slip but still bulky
It’s great protection and great secure feel in my hand . It would be almost impossible to slip out of my hand because the material is anti slip . ( not a hard plastic)
One star less because it’s still very very bulky it hides the beauty of the phone compleatly
I bought it because it has a great belt clip to carry the phone on my belt
My perfect wish would be , that otter makes one with just one rubber layer outside clear and have a belt clip . There are a lot of people out there who don’t need that much protection and want a belt carrying case that is minimal and sturdy . I would pay for it 50$ ? If the materials Hightech slim and sturdy and functional .
This is my 4th Otter case .and one more thing if you want to make your phone inconspicuous that’s it, because no one would at first sight recognize it as a iPhone X because of all the bulk protection . I love the blue and white colors

There are a lot of cases available for less money. I have tried others and they are not at all comparable. They do not hold up to the real Otter Box Case. Other cases crack and my phone has been damaged when dropped. This does not happen with this case. My phone costs an awful lot of money...it is worth buying a good secure case for it.

It does what it promises to!
I had Otterbox Defender with my old Samsung Galaxy S5. Other than that the phone got too old and it just didn’t work anymore properly, nothing ever happened to the phone itself.
My bought used iPhone 7 Plus did not ha e the same fate because I used a different case. So now I went back to the Defender and you can’t beat it.

I bought the wrong size and tires to return it, but due to COVID they say they are running behind on returns. It’s been three months and nothing! Very disappointed. Inyhiught Otter box has a better reputation than this.

Can you build a better holster?
When I received the case and attempted to put my existing phone case into the holster it did not fit. This led me to realize that either I ordered the wrong case or the dimensions have changed.
The reason why I ordered a case in the first place is that the holster for my case had broken and you do not offer holsters by themselves.
This leads me to suggest two things:
1. Make you holsters stronger so that they do not break so easily. I am in construction so you can understand the risk. You build a very strong case but the spring loaded clip breaks too easily. This was my second time to order a whole case just because I needed a holster.
2. Offer holsters by themselves. They are the item that is most likely to break, not the case.

Received replacement for worn case. States fits iPhone X but no way can I get this on my phone. I watched multiple videos which show how easily the phone sits in case and plastic piece snaps into place…. Not with the case I received. Guess I will use my broken case until I replace the phone or it breaks. Been satisfied forever until now.

OTTERBox! There's no other!!
This is the ONLY phone or iPad case I'll EVER purchase! The sturdy construct accompanied with the shock absorbing rubber casing have saved my pricey electronics many times over. This case is slim and easily handled giving me a sense of security that surpasses many of its competitors. Not to mention, the company provides great customer service!

Don't buy a phone without an Otterbox case.
Great case. I broke my last one after about 2 years. I didn't break the phone. Worth every penny, and the customer service is absolutely outstanding. I screwed up my last purchase and they immediately rectified the problem I caused, didn't even make me send the product back. The website is absolute garbage however, so just call and talk to a human. The wait time for me was only 2 or 3 minutes.
