Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could be better-Not up to Otterbox standards Used Otterbox defender products for every phone I have owned since the inception of smart phones. The pixel 4 defender is the worst I have ever had. First off, the screen protector should be integrated into the case. I understand that with "rounded" edges on some Samsung phones this is not possible, but it is possible with the pixel, and I feel like the omission of the built in screen protector is to force us to purchase the newly released Otterbox brand screen protector separately. Additionally the fit of the belt clip is too tight. It has to be forced in. This is made worse on the Pixel devices as every time I seat the phone into the belt clip, google assistant is activated because the phone thinks I am squeezing the sides of the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Partial Protection Cons: This product did not come with a screen protector. Previous Defender cases had a plastic film (which was not exactly not optimal either imo for the screen, but this just had the typical patented soft/hard frame around the phone that we've come to know from the series. Therefore, I consider this partial protection, as the screen in this case is vulnerable to some type of abrasion or puncture. I recommend purchasing a second product, categoried as 'screen prtoector' or 'tempered glass' in an addition to this product. Pros: This case offers similar impact protection to other Defender cases without being too "blocky." The beveled edges along the back make it feel better in your hand, and when sliding it in and out of your pocket. The camera on the back is deeply receeded, providing more "safe space" when placing your phone down on stuff (not so carefully). Note: This case does not affect the full display of the phone, but may affect the way you're used to swiping from the edges - and may take some getting used to as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serious protection only case worth buying I think this is the third Defender case I've had. now while the pixel 4 is new and the defender no longer comes with a built-in screen protector, I'm hoping that this glass shield(amplify) that cost in fact an extra $50! offers the same protection as I've seen on my previous handheld devices. It is not the fault of otter but they have to sell a separate cover but it makes the overall price about $110 for a case. That being said I have not dropped his phone yet, it still needs more reviewing I would say with past cases I would give it a five because it definitely saved my phone from dropping three sections of scaffolding up on plywood layered on top of concrete. This one gets a 4 because of the separate screen shield integration. if I drop it and it breaks I'll let you know. if I drop it and it doesn't break I'll let you know. I'm a contractor, probably spent $12,000 replacing cell phones. The OtterBox Defender is the only case I've found to deter those costs.

They are the best and I have never had my phone damaged no matter how many times I have dropped it. They are extremely protective yet stylish. I'm an OtterBox fan for life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OtterBox is worth it GOOGLE DEFENDER PIXEL 4 BLACK is what I had to get, as they do not sell the commuter series for the PIXEL 4. It is bulky and for the price does not come with a screen saver, go figure. Otter box has always been my go to protective case so far

You don't really see this on website expect for a small note buried in text. You can't use wireless charger with the defender case. Also a huge downer. By time you buy a defender series case and a screen.protector.the cost is huge. I love the defender series case as of the clip, but they need to make it work with wireless charging. 3 stars since price and unable to use wireless charger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More expensive but offer less annually The old OtterBoxes defenders used to have a screen protector, however they used to get all big and loose and would fall off your phone after a few months or years. Now these new ones have no screen protectors, but they seem to fit good on your phone. I guess we will see in a few months if the rubber stays tight or if it just falls off.

I BOUGHT THIS TO REPLACE A CASE THAT OFFERED POOR PROTECTION; THE DEVICE BROKE IN THE OLD CASE SO I HAD TO GET THE DISPLAY REPAIRED BEFORE USING THIS NEW OTTERBOX, I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE OTTERBOX IN THE FIRST PLACE, CLEARLY IT IS MUCH MORE DURABLE
