Rated 5 out of 5 by from This year's miss-design, hip clip no longer strong I've used Otterbox for years, but I had to return this one. In the past putting my phone into the Otterbox hip clip resulted in a strong click and I practically never dropped it. This year, the click is much to soft. And because of that, it's either not held on well, or I'm not certain if it's actually clicked into place. This results in my phone dropping more times from the hip clip in the last couple weeks than years I've gone with the previous designs. In addition it sometimes double clicks into a position it's not supposed to be in (the lip that supposed to go into the notch is actually past it). If you're not using the hip clip (they don't include it anymore, you have to request it, but they send it to you for free) then it's very similar to previous years and a solid choice. But for me, I've had to return this one and purchase a competing brand due to the hip clip click.

I needed two holsters over that time. They were made better than this one. My iPhone 17 is larger and therefore the holster is larger, but you probably used the same amount of plastic. Also, I had to order the case and wait, then once I got that I had to order the holster and wait more. This is not progress.

The issue was with a free holder that due to some issue, mine or their’s, I ended up being charged for it. They immediately corrected this billing mistake and shipped the holder. I really couldn’t ask for better service once it happened. The holder has the same quality as i usually get. The case itself was as expected with easy installation and quality.

Why not have your vendors carry a supply of both items, if you're not going to market them together as a whole kit the way you used to do. Even though I was able to get the holster at no additional charge, by scanning the QR code and ordering it online, I STILL HAD TO WAIT SEVERAL MORE DAYS TO GET IT SHIPPED TO ME. For that length of time, I had to find some other way of carrying my new phone with me, instead of wearing it on my belt like I've done forever. Inconvenient. Unnecessary. You can do better.

There’s a larger than expected gap between the phone face and the back of the clip/holster. Had I known, I may have explored other options as I ALWAYS have had Otterboxes since smart phones hit the market 20yrs ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The new iPhone 17 side buttons on the right side I love OtterBox defender for the iPhone. I’ve been through so many iPhones and use the same case over the years. However, the new iPhone 17 Pro has changed their button settings and made it very difficult for OtterBox case. There’s a gap on the right side of the plastic mold around the iPhone makes it difficult to clip into the defenders belt clip. OtterBox, you need to fix this. I’m afraid I’m gonna lose my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good I’ve been using OtterBox for many years. Got another Defender case for recent purchase of iPhone 17 Pro. It’s pretty good. A couple of complaints. They don’t include the holster anymore. You have to order it separately using a QR code. It’s free, but it’s a pain. I didn’t know, so I had to have my phone in my pocket for several days waiting for the holster to arrive. Second, the camera button needs to be recessed more. I’m constantly launching the camera app accidentally when I grab my phone because I’m inadvertently hitting the button. Other than that, it’s a really good case. Wish there was a way to trade in previous case for a discount towards a new one when you change phones.

Camera button on right side is over sensitive in fact you don’t even have to press button for camera to go on if you press or grip slightly above switch it will activate camera. Very annoying, a lot of pocket pictures were taken. Not expected for a case this expensive. I’m told by Otter that a new case is on the way and they aware of the issue. I will review that one if asked when I receive it.

It has a plastic inter case covered by a rubber outer case that protects the phone from falls and drops. It’s the only case me and my family use for our phones Only thing I wish they had a better color selection

I get maximum trade in value when upgrading my iPhone, as they are always in excellent condition because of the great protection which the case provides. My iPhone 17 Pro cost over $2000 and solid protection is just common sense. Whenever I have had any issue with my otterbox case or holster, Otterbox has always honoured their excellent warranty and quickly provided a free replacement. I very happy with my investment in Otterbox.

Yeah there's a code to order it inside the package but you pay the $80 and you expected the holster. Not saving money, you really think about more resources was use to delivery what should've been there the first place.

They convinced me that another box was "just as good" and "Much cheaper". It was cheaper, but when my phone finally arrived and I tried the case/holster the 2nd part of their argument fell apart. The phone did not fit snugly into the case and fell out twice while I was at the store. The clip on the holster was very loose and the phone fell out while I was just walking around. I have had Otterbox before and my phone NEVER fell out and the holster NEVER fell off. I immediately returned the case and then ordered the Otterbox. It fits great , phone is secure and I am once again a happy camper.
